If I could give zero stars I would. Please read. I had taken my dog here for a follow up exam about a week after I had taken her to the emergency clinic. During the exam, my dog looked good and wasn’t having any of the issues she was having prior to. Dr. Cook did not take any of my dogs vitals, she did not run any blood work or tests, and did not take any x-rays. She didn’t even look at the paperwork that the emergency vet clinic faxed over. She said my dog still had a tooth infection, she gave her antibiotics, then sent us home. Within hours, my dog got worse. She was unresponsive, her eyes were glossy, and she was having trouble breathing. I rushed her to the emergency clinic again, thankfully the same vet that had seen her the first time was on duty and remembered her case. Turned out my dog had a fever of 105.7 and was going septic due to the infection. My dog was dying. The amazing staff and vet at the emergency clinic saved my dogs life, thankfully. But if Dr. Cook had done her job correctly and looked at the paperwork and read what was recommended on there, she would’ve caught what was going on with my dog INTERALLY because it would’ve shown on the blood work that was supposed to get done. But since my dog didn’t show any signs on the outside until later that day, she brushed it off. I called the next day to ask for the vitals and the paperwork regarding my dog, they told me they couldn’t find the vitals and that Dr. Cook hadn’t finish documenting the file (didn’t realize it takes over 24 hours to document a patients file). So now I have an over thousand dollar vet bill that could’ve been avoided had Dr. Cook done her job correctly. Thanks for almost killing my dog!

I have been taking my pets (cats, a bunny, a guinea pig, and rats) to East Lohman for over 30 years. Their staff is always caring, patient, and highly skilled. Dr. Cook is one of few vets in the area with expertise in exotic species and she saw my bunny through several illnesses in his 11 years. I cannot recommend their care more highly. I will never take my pets anywhere else.

Used to go to Jornada but came here after my dog had a minor emergency on a Saturday. Only cost 50 compared to 100 at Jornada for similar service. Ended up scheduling both of my dogs for their rabies, distemper, and parvo shots and only cost 52 dollars per dog, 104 for both. The vet and the tech were both really friendly and helpful.

Just like other vet clinics in town, this clinic is interested only in getting your money. They prescribed two drugs, a steroid and a pain killer, in addition to a medication for an ear infection. The dog is not in that much pain, if it all, rather the ear itches, the steroid is also in the medical ointment. But they justify a treatment regime that includes the steriod and pain killer when it is not necessary. If they were a good clinic, they would not only consider the patient, but the cost of the treatment to the owner and work with the owner to keep costs down while prescribing an appropriate treatment. I have two dogs, they just lost two patients, but I am sure they do not care as most of their dog owners are too ignorant to know the difference.

We have been going here for all of our pets for years. In the past i would have rated them five stars. We had an outstanding bill from putting a dog down, and had been making payments (they have kept his ashes hostage and charge redicoulous interest to your balance regardless of payments made, AND charge a fee when you make a payment!)... Our new addition was I'll, so we called and they told us to bring him in and set an appt. Got there, signed in, was brought to an exam room where a "visual inspection" was done. They told my wife, " it could be parvo, but we won't know without running tests. We will not do any physical exams or run any blood or stool work until we are paid in full." We had payment in hand for our pup, and a payment towards past balance- not good enough. After years and generations of animals, thousands upon thousands paid, we were quickly put on ice. I would not recommend east lohman to anyone with FAMILY pets, or anyone low income, as they will NOT work with you. Can't believe you guys would allow an animal to suffer, or die, over a couple hundred dollars. Turned out dog ate a rock with very toxic minerals, high in metals, and it wasn't passing smoothly.

The place was absolutely filthy and the staff ignored me when I came in (an hour later, I just left because that is ridiculous). Since then, all I've been hearing about this place from others who have gone there is how they don't follow set procedures, threaten their patients, and how they still have an employee that has harassed the clients. If you have /any/ choice in the matter, do NOT go here.

I was trying to make an appointment to take my 3 animals out there , but the guy on the phone gave me a terribly time , because he can’t find my account, he was rude and disrespectful threatening not to give me and my animals appointment ,the only reason I called this place is because I have taken my Quaker parrot here before, and I though the veterinary that treated him a kind respectful vet. But thanks to this moody guy, I’ll just find another place, this guy was rude and terribly annoying unprofessional, and I don’t know what his problem is!

In the past I might have given a better review, but I will never go there again. They scheduled us an appointment for 1:30. General sense would tell you to get to an appointment early, as being 10 minutes late could cause them to reschedule you and charge a fee. We had a new pet, and when I made the appointment I was told to come 15 minutes early for paperwork. Well, I got there 20 minutes early to find them closed for lunch until 1:30. What establishment in their right mind would schedule someone for the same time as they open, giving no time for getting there early? It wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't so hot out, and I had brought my infant because my babysitter was out of town. But that's not why I'm giving the bad review. The one star is because, as people came in, I kept asking if we could be let into the lobby to wait because it was air conditioned. I was told no. At 1:30 when I was finally let in, I asked why I wasn't allowed in the lobby. It's not like this is some corporate place, and I saw no harm in letting people sit inside while they got their stuff together. It wasn't like I was asking for SERVICE early, just an air conditioned waiting room for my baby and cat. This is where the one star comes in. She was exceptionally rude and talked to me like I was an idiot for even asking. I told her people come early to appointments so why would they do that? She replied that "obviously" you wouldn't do that if they were closed. She got sarcastic with me several times, when all I was after was an apology. I was fully intending to go ahead with my appointment despite being made to wait outside, but the moment the front desk lady got rude with me I cancelled on the spot and filed a complaint with the AAHA. I'll never do business with a place that treats their customers like they're doing them a favor by taking their business. That's not how this works. A little customer service goes a long way, but rudeness can go a long way in the other direction. I do not recommend East Lohman. There are plenty of other places with nicer staff.

High marks to Dr. Maury Brown at East Lohman Vet Clinic. My beloved Schnauzer suffers from liver disease and had a recent bought with black, tarry diarrhea. She is prone to these episodes and seeking Vet help usually brings little relief. However, Dr. Brown's bedside manner and experience yielded an appropriate diagnosis with sufficient medications to alleviate all her symptoms. My Sasha is actually putting on some weight, although I don't think she cares much for the yogurt induced with live cultures! Thanks, Dr. Brown, for the awesome care.

I can't tell you how many of my friends' and family's pets have been horribly injured or died as a result of their inability to maintain proper hygiene, train their doctors, or even work as a group. Honestly, the fact that anyone still goes here is a frightening prospect.

Their website said if you have a pet emergency to look no further. My wife called on a Monday to schedule an appointment for our car that had stopped eating and drinking, she was given the day of Friday. When my wife mentioned she would not be alive by that time the response was " that is our next appointment". We went elsewhere.

Been bringing our dogs here for ten plus years. They put to rest two of our dogs when it was their time to pass. Always have had a good experience at this place. Well I guess that's all changed. Yesterday on Christmas my dog got bit by what I think was a Brown Recluse. After referring to pet md on the web I was able to do what was possible from my house to keep him comfortable through the night. First thing in the morning I took him to East Lohman veterinary clinic to make sure he was gonna be ok. I was upfront and told them I wouldn't be able to pay them til the following day, when I was paid. I didn't think it would be a problem considering we've done this before(payments), and have never owed them any unpaid balances. They quickly told me that it wouldn't be possible for them to take a look at him until I paid the examination fee. I was a bit unnerved but I understand how business works. My next question to them was if a vet could just give me some advice as far as what to do on my own until I could bring him back the following day. They refused saying they would have to charge me regardless. I'm now understanding how money hungry they are at this place. My next question to them was, if I brought my dog in clinging to his life, and didn't have proper payment in hand, would you still refuse him service allowing him to die. Their answer was a cold, "yes, that's business". I guess it's time to find a new vet.

I don’t usually go to vets or doctors, but I’ve now had to take both of my GSPs into ELVC. Once for a UTI and most recently a tumor on plantar medial aspect of Bela’s front right paw. The surgical excision is planned for 2 weeks out, but I have been most impressed with Dr Ross and the supporting staff here at ELVC. Dr Ross even got down on the floor to conduct the visit where my injured pup was laying. I can only assume the surgery will go as well as other visits have! Update: tumor before and after was great.
