The staff is judgmental, if you have a pit bull I wouldn’t recommend it. My super friendly dog wouldn’t let anyone pet him after an overnight stay. When I picked him up they kept saying he was aggressive but he never has been and even since we’ve been to the dog park and played with dogs with no problems. The vet got the job done but it was all rushed and I wasn’t able to ask any questions. I wouldn’t go here if you have other options.

Today was extreamly busy for them but they still managed to treat ever pet and owner with love and respect! They were kind to everyone and communicated fluently. I was a walk in and i was still seen with in a reasonable time for my iguana. They are also very knowledgeable about exotics. I used to go to jornada vet but they aren't as good as these people

New to Las Cruces. Yesterday was my first visit to Schumacher Vet clinic. Truly our dog Lilly was treated like a Queen. Dr. Cassandra Hoisington was very nurturing and caring. Great staff! Happy to find such an Amazing Doctor for our Lilly!

(VERY SHADY BILLING/OVERCHARGING HERE) When it comes to billing there is a highly suspicious amount of miscommunication between the staff. The front desk lady who seems to have a permanent scowl on her face, said one amount, and the Dr. Said something different. I have had credit here due to a past voucher that I was given, when I came back to use said credit I was told that I needed to pay out of pocket for the services rendered. Which is fine, but when I went to pay my bill the front desk person took my money before I had a chance to look at any reciept, and after reviewing the bill they took my money which was NOT in fact OWED, and also charged me for a medication some months back that I never picked up! It was extremely unprofessional, of the Dr. And employee to try and justify stealing my money. They both knew that they were wrong, just based on the previous reciepts and lack therefore OF, it shows clearly that they overcharged me and instead of refunding me rightfully they sat there annoyed that I was challenging them, and fabricated some frivolous story as to why they CANNOT give me my money back. She even went as far to say "this is usually more, I gave you a deal", which tells me there is a fair amount of bending and manipulation done here. If made right then Im happy to change my outlook on this place but that would entail a refund and an apology. I'd like to urge others, if you're reading this and care for your pet, you're much better off going somewhere else! Especially if you have a voucher, they treat you horrible here. DO NOT GO HERE! EXTREMELY UNORGANIZED BILLING, AND DECEPTIVE, RUDE BEHAVIOUR.

Our Chiweenie was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 weeks ago. It was such a shock. Our Vet did not do any test that really confirmed her findings. Distress lead me to the clinic of Dr. Schumacher based on the wonderful reviews. We met Dr. Short and instantly felt her compassion and ability. After running several test she confirmed the original diagnosis. She offered several options and took the time to explain all the details and what we might expect. Even with the bad news she had to deliver, she was a breath of fresh air. She teared up as she spoke. In the next week I know I will have to let go of Dach but I trust she will make it as painless as possible. Thanks to everyone that is part of the clinic. Judy and Gary

You can tell from the minute you walk in that the entire staff, Dr.s included, are devoted to their many, many patients. I have often heard of the staff waving their own fees to make treatment more affordable in some of the more critical interactions with desperate pet owners they've worked with. They assisted with "putting down" a pet we had for more than ten years, arranged cremation services, and followed with a personal letter of condolence from the doctor and staff soon after. They are incredibly compassionate with the care they provide. I give all of them the highest level of recommendation I could possibly give them, as well as my thanks for all of their assistance
