Clean and friendly
The Veterinarians are great
Staff is friendly and love each animal as if they were there own.
We used to go to Taylor Ranch Vet, who referred us here, and I am so thrilled they did! Our 2 1/2 yr old pup jumped into some chollo cactus (OUCH) and the spines were all the way up her legs. over 100+~~~ Dr Cole spent over an hour pulling them out with me......she was so kind and patient. We immediately transfered all her puppy records to Cottonwood ~ and never looked back! Taylor Ranch told me to shave her hair first and that they would only give me 15 minutes tops! We are so thankful for Cottonwood, we've seen them now 2 more times, and always pleased with our visits.
Genuine loving attentive care to my pets for the past 19 years.. the very best clinic, best pet Dr Michael Forsyth.
Top notch care for your pets here! Super friendly staff and Dr. Mike Forsyth is the most caring Vet I've ever known.
Always very nice and patient with my very anxious dog! The doctor is always very sweet and we love coming here!
This vet will let your beloved pet die in the waiting room if you can't pay the examination fee up front. Go where the animals welfare is the primary concern... and it's not here.
Love this place! They don’t charge you for unnecessary things and are honest. The girls in the front are super sweet and helpful and I highly recommend this vet to anyone that doesn’t want to overcharged and wants good customer service.
The blonde front desk lady seemed new(slow and confused), but with that, blamed me for loosing a piece of paper that she never gave me. I almost lost my patience dealing with her! The other front desk lady knew what she was doing at least. The vet staff saved the rating to a 3 star, very kind and intelligent.
My husband and I are truly grateful for this Clinic and all of it's staff. 3 days ago we had a bad experience with Sunrise Veterinary Clinic where they wouldn't take the time to help us put our beloved dog to sleep while they were not even busy. So we tried Cottonwood and I asked the woman at the desk if they could see our dog and explained that his legs are weak and he was losing use along with his other health issues, and she said we could see him in 15 minutes. When we got in the exam room, the assistant laid a blanket on the floor to make our dog comfortable then Dr Mike Forsyth came in and talked to us while he was also making our precious Baron more comfortable and explained to us how the procedure will work. Then Dr Mike Forsyth handled the whole procedure to where our Baron did not suffer and was gone so peacefully. When it was over we never felt rushed, and then whole staff was so very kind and they all told us how very sorry there where. We even received a clay paw print of Baron to keep. Two days later we received such a very nice sympathy card from the whole staff.
Dr. Mike Forsyth was absolutely the best vet we could have found when we were visiting Rio Rancho/Albuquerque from Florida last week. Our 9 month old lab ate something bad (imagine a lab doing that!) and it made her very sick. After two days of trying to get her well, we gave up and tried to find a local vet to see her. The staff at Cottonwood was willing to fit us into their already booked schedule that morning. Dr. Forsyth listened to us, sat down on the floor to bond and check out our 63 pound puppy. He told us he could run extensive tests to verify his diagnosis, but thought it was unnecessary and would save us money not to do them. Two pills later we were out the door and he even gave us his cell phone number to call in case we had any trouble as we made our way up New Mexico and into Colorado over the next few days. I was even more surprised to get a phone call from him two days later checking up on our dog. My husband and I wish we had a vet like him at home! I highly recommend Cottonwood Animal Clinic.
Do not go here, they just want your money. My girlfriend and I brought our dog in and they completely misdiagnosed his foot abces as cancer. We waited almost an hour to be seen before the vet looked at the dog for maybe 10 minutes. They also quoted us a price to do the procedure and then the night before we were supposed to bring the dog in they called us and increased the price by almost double. I am so glad we took the dog elsewhere otherwise we would have overpaid for a procedure the dog didn't even need.
Terrible! I made an appointment for my senior boxer a day in advance. We show up 10 mins early. It took them 15 mins just to check us in. Then we waited 40mins just to get triage and put in a room to wait again. After another 40 mins of waiting, we finally had to walk out without once seeing the vet and without any apologies from the staff. In all, we were left waiting for over one and half hours. My poor, sweet dog was in pain and discomfort so walked out and were able to get an appointment with a much better vet that doesn't keep their clients waiting for hours.
Dr. Wa is extremely thorough and empathetic to both the parent and animals. We are very happy to have her as our family vet.
We had been taking our pets here for a few years but things recently have changed. We had heard rumors that the office had gone “corporate”. We called a few days ago to get an estimate on treatment and the receptionist clearly got irritated and just hung up on us. Very poor customer service to say the least. We found a new vet and absolutely love the new office.
Loved it!took my hairy son here and there very nice
They are very sweet to the animals and family members and very knowledgeable with care.
Great staff and reasonable fees
They are awesome! I called at 5:00 pm cause my dog had a piece of cactus in his mouth ( we weren't even regular patients) They said I could bring him in since I live just a few minutes away. When I got there they pulled him back and got it out in just a few minutes. They were very nice and helpful! We will continue to use this vet for sure!! Thank you!
Dr. Mike and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They are so knowledgeable and show so much compassion both to the pets and to their owners. I recommend them to every person who has pets. You wont regret it.
Friendly staff, genuinely concerned about my dog's issue and made multiple suggestions.
The team at the clinic is caring and go out of their way to make their patients feel comfortable.
Have been coming to this veterinarian's office since 2008 and the staff and doctors are very good and knowledgeable. They take time to answer questions and help you understand eveything. Will keep bringing our animals to them and would definately recommend them.
Great long time clinic. The current vet assistant is not very personable but Dr Forsythe is fabulous!!!!!
Dr Mike and staff always go above and beyond to give our boxers the best care and treatment. Your pets will be treated like family at Cottonwood!
Prior to my scheduled appointment I was told on two occasions it would cost $18.xx to get my dog a rabbis shot. After my appointment I went to pay and I’m told the bill would be $75.xx because when they brought the dog back for her shot they had the vet see her without asking or informing me first. The receptionist refused to escalate my complaint to her boss for a follow up call. I advised I would no longer bring my business there and offered to pay the $18.xx which was refused and I was told they would $0.00 out the balance and not provide the rabbis paperwork. They then call my girlfriend and tell her we are not allowed to bring our dogs back until we pay the $75.xx. I called back and the receptionist denied telling me the account would be $0.00 and again stated her boss would not call me. I am happy to pay the $18.xx I was told the appointment would be and would like someone to call me back about this situation.
Dr. Mike Forsythe has always been wonderful with our dogs! They love coming to see him! I appreciate that he is very practical and starts with the simplest things to try first.
Friendly staff
Friendly staff who really care about the animals and their owners. Would definitely recommend them!
Great, caring staff
I'm so happy I was referred to them! Decent pricing, friendly staff, and Dr. Waugh is very compassionate to both patient and owner.
Dr. Mike is the best!
Great vet. Dr. Mike is conservative with his approach. Extremely knowledge, yet wont go crazy with unnecessary tests and drive up costs. Wouldn't trust my "family members" to anyone else.
I just adopted a young adult dog from the Santa Fe shelter and asked a friend who formerly practiced veterinary medicine in Albuquerque for a vet recommendation. Two words: Mike Forsyth. She worked in Critical Care and holds Dr. Forsyth in very high esteem for his ability to treat everything from acute injuries to more complex, possibly life-threatening matters. I met him this past week for my adoptee’s first visit and cannot say enough about Mike and his entire team...Jessica, Cindy, and all the smiling faces behind the scenes I watched interact with clients both on the phone and in person. I met 4-5 other clients with their dogs waiting for their appointments (I was very early) and one couple waiting to pick their senior up after dental work. Their praise was universal. I found Mike to be a very caring individual who really wants to work with me to ensure the adoption goes well and my very happy 20# beagle mix remains healthy. A recent transplant from the upper Midwest, I needed a lot of instruction on New Mexico’s parasites and the differences in prophylactic care. He sat on the floor to examine my dog, who delighted in crawling all over him while he was examined and given the thumbs up. I understand and agree with the clinic’s superlative client ratings. I recommend Cottonwood Animal Clinic for the skill, compassion, and the great love they show for their clients. I am so pleased to have them guiding my new pup’s care!
I was extremely worried about our newest member when she began having a bloody stool and was unable to hold food down, especially because at 10weeks she was exactly weighing only 1lb. This clinic took our call at 2:30pm and made room for us at 3:00pm due to our pups possibly serious condition. They were extremely busy when I arrived but my puppy was taken immediate care of despite not scheduling ahead. I am extremely thankful to have found this clinic and thanks to them our pup is healthy and happy now. We have of course continued to take all our pups here for their care.
Nice place. Service was a little bit slow due to computers. Vet was wonderful
I've had excellent experiences with Cottonwood Animal Clinic. The staff and Dr. Forsyth are knowledgable and helpful. Dr. Forsyth always sits down on the floor with my dog to examine her. He is thorough with his exams and questions, going above and beyond to investigate even minor concerns. I highly recommend this clinic, A+!
Fast and friendly
do need nice and very reasonable!
Best place ever to go to for your furry family members
Love Dr Mike
They took really great care of our sugar glider!
Being using them for over 15yrs for all our furbabies. They are great. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
I recently became the owner of a beautiful Pit who is friendly and lovable. Being that I hadn't had a pet since I was a child, I was unaware of where to take my dog for all her vet needs. I was referred to Dr. Cole by a very close friend of mine and couldn't have made a wiser choice than to listen to that bit of advice. The treatment of my dog as well as myself is above reproach. The care provided was above all medical care I have personally received. She is diligent, detailed, and systematic about the services and recommendations she has provided to me. Bottom line is that I would, without a doubt, recommend Dr. Cole and her friendly staff to all my friends and family. I have found a life long canine care provider! Thank you Dr. Cole!!!
Great and friendly staff. Very professional
My 14 year old dog needed a lot of help with his teeth, the staff at Cottonwood Animal Clinic was great! We'll be making an alignment soon to get our puppies first teeth cleaning, not doing that again! Thanks for the great care you have my boy!
I am going to name drop in this review, and mainly because I was so surprised at no only the diagnosis we received but also the cost that I was quoted. I took my dog in to Cottonwood for a lump on his inner thigh as and some black moles. The first Vet told my husband the lump was likely nothing to worry about and she was more worried about the black moles. They advised us to keep an eye on the moles to make sure they don't get bigger. After the lump kept getting bigger we took him back in. The second Vet told me the lump was concerning and it should be removed; she took a sample and said she couldn't tell from the sample if it was benign or not. They gave us a quote for $1000 plus another $150 to remove the moles as well. They said we'd have to bring him in for blood work and pay another office visit plus the removal fee ($1150). But seeing that we received contradictory information my husband suggested getting a second (or third) opinion so we went to Sunrise. Dr. Abernathy was great! He was confident that the lump should be removed and that the moles were not of concern. THEN, he gave us a quote for $350 for the removal! 25% of Cottonwood's price! He also informed us that we wouldn't have to pay the office visit. I am so disappointed with Cottonwood.
Helpful and friendly staff and decent prices for vet services.
If I could give less stars I would. If you want a vet who will scare and guilt you into doing unnecessary procedures in order to charge you 3x more than she should; and let your animal leave in pain without any medicine or anything to help him then go here. However, if you want a vet who will actually take time to look at your animal and cares then go somewhere else like ABQ Petcare. My dog had a growth on his foot. We took him to this clinic on Monday. We had to wait 45 minutes after our appointment to finally be seen. The vet looked at him for 5 minutes and said it was most likely cancer and a very aggressive one because of how fast it grew. She said he needed to have surgery to get it removed. They gave us an estimate of $800-1,000. This was pretty expensive, but after everything she said I was afraid of losing my dog so went along and scheduled the appointment for Friday. My dog had to go the rest of the week limping around and in pain. The evening before the appointment they called and said they gave us a wrong estimate and it would now be $1,400 because they thought they would need to use extra surgical materials and make more stitches to close it up. I told them I didn't think I could afford that much since $1,000 was stretching my budget and I was going to call other vets. I also asked if they could send me the new estimate via e-mail so I could look it over. When they sent the e-mail it was again a different price but a little cheaper (closer to $1,200). However, they then tried to push a teeth cleaner and other unnecessary procedures saying in the long run it would be cheaper. I called my boyfriend crying because I wasn't sure what to do. I hated seeing my dog in pain, but wasn't sure I could afford all of the procedures (Oh yeah because she said if the biopsy came back that it was cancer they would have to do Chemo or amputate his leg). My boyfriend luckily has a Vet who is a friend. After talking with her she said that the price seemed a little steep and to jump straight to cancer was strange. She couldn't see him for a couple weeks, but recommended another vet who could get us in that day. When I took him to her she said it was probably an infection from him stepping on something. She was able to drain the growth and put him on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine that evening (total after everything including a month of antibiotics was $500). It has now been only two days and he is already putting weight on his paw again and moving around like normal.
Front desk staff seems a little mean BUT the vets and nurses are amazing. Make me feel comfortable and my dogs too. I don't feel dumb or like I'm doing something wrong. I am so glad I found this place. Extremely happy
Great
Dr. Waugh and her staff are amazing. They went above and beyond when we lost our dachshund and showed a lot of concern for out other animals as well. I wouldn't trust anyone else with our fur babies health.
Staff supper sweet to my Daisy. Recovery was fastfor her too. They called to check on her a few times.
Doctor Mike is down to earth when I comes to my pets.
Staff here is rude, unprofessional, ATROCIOUS.
Dr. Mike is the best! He's treated all of our animals since we moved here in 1997.
Good place to bring your pet baby
I have been seeing Dr. Cole for about 9 years now. Over the years she has taken care of all of my equine, canine, feline, and fancy rat needs. She always goes above and beyond for all of her patients, including late night in-person visits to her patients if they are required to stay overnight at the clinic. The reason that I continue to see her instead of other vets that I have been to in the past is because: in addition to going above and beyond with treatments, she is always very genuine with her feedback and analysis of my animals. She always lets me know what all of my options (and costs associated) are up front, and makes recommendations on what she personally feels is best for the patient. She really makes you feel like she is recommending what she would do for HER animal. Additionally, if there is more research that is needed to be done (such as an MRI required for my pet), she will make a referral to an excellent specialist accordingly. I highly recommend her as a veterinarian if you are looking for the best, most considerate treatments for your animals. - AnnMarie
