I've been using Alamogordo Animal Hospital for four and a half years for several pets. They were so comforting and supportive when I had to have my aging Aussie Belle Starr PTS in October 2012 and now take care of both my current dogs. Dr Wiley and his staff are all wonderful, clearly care for the animals and treat customers like friends. They are convenient to where I live but it is much more than that keeping me going back. Wendy at the reception desk is awesome!

Visited for concerns that my pup had an ear infection starting. The wait was minimal- the ladies at the front desk were wonderful and managed to squeeze us in on short notice. The doctor was wonderful! He even trimmed her nails for me while we had her there. She does NOT like having her nails done but forgave him quickly. Diagnosis was quick and we were on our way. Cost was reasonable- about what one would expect.

Took my mini Schnauzer and Terrier Mix in for their vaccination clinic. The receptionists were really nice and patient since my schnauzer puppy was being loud and over excited about everything. The vaccinations were affordable and the service was quick. I'd come back again. :) Update 03/14/2017 - Still 5 stars! They were able to get me in on short notice because my 8wk old puppy wasn't eating or drinking. They were thorough with labs and gave me everything I needed to get her back on track. I had so many questions and they were so patient in answering everything. My puppy did end up making a mess all over me and the staff was nice enough to help me cleaned up before leaving and even gave me a new towel to carry my puppy in. I definitely recommend!

I have to echo so many of the reviews here: Drs. Wiley and Comer are top-notch, as are their entire staff. Dr. Wiley has taken care of our four-legged kids - 3 dogs and a cat - for over 10 years and now Dr. Comer has joined the team. She is a wonderful, knowledgeable, caring doctor, and a great addition to the practice. We also appreciate the once-a-month Saturday vaccination clinics. They really help our tight budget.

I have total confidence in the doctors and staff at AAH. Started going to them after multiple problems with missed diagnosis and negligent care by another vet. Have never had a bad experience. They treat my pets and myself with care and compassion and respect. Have gone to them for everything from routine exams and vaccinations to emergencies to "saying goodbye" to beloved pets. They are the best!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I lost my pet, family member, because of their negligence. This place might be okay for checkups and basic medical needs for an animal, but I strongly urge anyone with a pet in need of more serious care to go somewhere else. One of my family members died in their care after having a procedure done with no proper follow up after releasing her to our care less than 4 hours after waking up. She aspirated into her lungs over a two day period in agony because when we called we were told not to worry as long as she got water. I watched her final moments consist of her being roughly handled and held up while gasping for air; and this is after they tried to send our pet home with us while she was gasping for air with no instructions like it was normal. It wasn't until we asked them to examine her again that she died on the table in agony. After speaking to another vet after she has passed he couldn't believe they didn't advise us to put her down. Instead she had to go out in such a horrible way. Again if you care for your animal and have serious medical needs or procedures needed for them look elsewhere. Specifically Dr. Wiley the other female vet seemed lovely. Their staff yelled at me while my cat was in her final moments I've never seen such little compassion. I'm forever heartbroken would hate to see someone else go through the negligence and little regard as I did.

We recently had to have our dog put down. The staff at Alamogordo Animal Hospital were so tender and careful with our feelings at this extremely hard time for us. We certainly appreciated their caring attitude. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

Staff and doctor were extremely helpful when I brought in my five month old heeler puppy who got into a fight with my older dog, who broke his jaw. Both staff and doctor took excellent care of Fantastichi, my heeler puppy. Doctor and staff were friendly, alert and had a good sense of humor to my feelings of what I wanted to be done. The staff and doctor gave me confidence in their treatment of Fantastichi and recovery. I was happy with their prompt service and "get down to work" attitude before I even brought my puppy inside. Because of the distress of my puppy's jaw, I was really happy that one of the receptionist came outside and greeted me at my truck to help more with the emergency care of my pet. Thank you all for providing Fantastic service. My dog Fantastichi is in recovery from surgery at the office awaiting pickup so that I can take him home to continue recovery. Thank you Dr Whiley and all your per friendly staff. And thank you all for having a sense of humor to give a tick repellent treat when my puppy was being seen while lady nurse was holding him. I took my cat to have his teeth examined and cleaned and they charged me $600! Granted, the cat was older and there was blood work to see if he could go through anesthesia. But the blood work was $80 or so and the cleaning the remainder, still over $500. Normally this procedure should have cost under $200. I would have gone elsewhere, but it was near Christmas and vets were closing. My pet has trouble with his teeth and seemed and waiting wasn't so much of an option.

Good thing was, that I got service on the weekend and no pre registration was needed. The staff members have all been very friendly and helpful. I can really only judge the alamogordo animal hospital regarding cats. So please keep in mind that it might be a good vet for other pets like dogs, ginuea pigs, rats, mice. I have no expirience regarding other animals than cats. We took our cat in in a Saturday evening because she was dizzy and wouldn't drink or eat. Dr W. examined her and kept her until Monday. They did a surgery on her just to tell me that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I paid $1200 for the service and took the car back home - with a long cut on the belly and with a dose of steroids. After a couple of days I had to take the cat back to the vet. This time I believe it was Thursday night. Again she stayed for a night with no real diagnose. I think it was another $300 for that service. The cat got steroids every day for the next couple of month (!!!). We had a phone call from Dr. W to tell us, that our cat has Hepatitis and that it can't be cured. We went to a second doctor after spending around $2200 on an unnecessary surgery, treatment and medication when the symptoms came back. Guess what: all the cat had was worms. Simple worms. And yes, it is absolutely our fault that she got it since we forgot to give her the needed medication for it. I can't doubt that. But I don't know why I had to pay so much money on a wrong diagnose also. Like I mentioned before - this review is only regarding to feline and nothing else.

After a negative experience at another vet service, we were directed to the Alamogordo Animal Hospital. Our experience for our two rescue dogs has been awesome. The front office staff is efficient, friendly and helpful. Dr. Comer has been patient and willing to explain everything that is going on with our dogs without talking "down" to us. they rejected our emergency to get our 11 year old dog into the vet because we couldnt pay immediately. I gave up and went to the staleys vet, they took him in and after 2 days he passed away in his sleep, he had injuries in his neck that looked like he got hit by a car. even though he was in the yard. staleys treated us like royals unlike the rude attitudes here.

Super friendly, very helpful, and great service! We've taken our dogs and cat there for the past ten years and have never been disappointed. They have helped with everything from Parvo and broken legs to checking suspicious lumps. I also love that they will give an estimate of how much care will be before they do whatever procedure is needed. It definitely helps avoid the surprise of the vet bill. I would definitely recommend the Alamogordo Animal Hospital if you want your pets (and you!) to have a great experience!

Have had amazing experiences with AAH. I've seen both Dr. Lambden and Dr. Wiley for chronic health issues for my cats and they treat them as if they are their own--they are caring, kind, and compassionate, and respect the fact that care is expensive and try to help out any way they can. They are also fairly priced and have gotten my cats and even fosters in last minute if they need emergency care same-day. Their front desk staff is kind as well. I feel grateful I found AAH as soon as I got to town!

I have been taking my 3 lb. Chihauhau, Bitzy to Dr Wiley and Dr Comer for 7 years. They have taken excellent care of her. She has to have a steroid shot before her injections. She had a bad reaction once and they are very diligent in making sure she is ok before we leave. A year ago she was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and the prognosis was not very good. Due to a good medication regime, she is still alive and doing well. Everyone is caring and friendly I would highly recommend Alamo Animal Hospital.

I brought my American Eskimo in with a very high fever. Dr.Comer took action and the staff made time to see him immediately with their very busy schedule. They kept him overnight and brought his fever and liver enzymes down. Now, with the help of medication for his liver and arthritis he is back to being is old self again. The entire staff are very professional and have compassion for all the animals. I give them 5 stars!!!!!

Dr. Wiley and Dr. Comer are the best! When you invest your heart and soul into your animals, this is place you dream of taking them for health care. The doctors and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and respect my time, so I never have any wasted appointments. When I had to start giving home treatments for my old cat with kidney disease, they very patiently walked me through the procedure to do it until I felt comfortable and then gave me free replacement needles until he finally passed. They really go above and beyond to make me feel my animals are getting the best care possible.
