I had the worst experience this evening myself & husband brought our 2 year old Morkie in to be treated for an ear infection.When greeting the Veterinarian I could tell he had a very bad disposition , when I asked questions in reference to my Morkie ear infection, that was treated by he himself about a month ago, Then he became hostile & stated I have been getting complaints all day & if you want to complain like everyone else, you can take your dog else were.He no longer has any worries in reference to myself & fur baby I prefer to spend any amount of money for respect & professionalism any day !

Yes this VEt is Cheap, but because he is he does not do things right. When I adopted my dog, the adoption people recommended him to me, OMG why. My poor dog. She broke her leg and I rushed her to him, he did surgery on her and he did not do a good job because my Gem now limps. I was so upset that I took her to a specialist and paid ridiculous amount of money to see if we can rectify his mistake and get Gem to bend her leg, but it was too late. Since the bone healed in a certain way because of the splint he put, the only way was to break it again and re operate and with no guarantee. SO my poor baby is still the same way.. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I go there when I mention this to a friend she was LIKE DON'T GO TO HIM HIS HORRIBLE BUT IT WAS TOO LATE. SO YES HE IS CHEAP AND YES VET COSTS ARE HIGH BUT BE CAREFUL BECAUSE LIKE IN MY CAUSE THERE IS PERMANENT DAMAGE AND BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO SAVE NOW SHES STUCK THIS WAY FOREVER>

This place is an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! I am still in shock and appalled at how NASTY the "Doctor" was and I use that term very very loosely because he is no doctor let alone a man. I first come in with my very injured cat to find him SCREAMING on the phone with a lady about payments and being so nasty to her, I should have known from then on what I have just walked into. I turned to the receptionist (who turned out to be the "assistant" as well) and asked with a shocked look on my face is that the doctor? she sheepishly replied with an embarrassed "yes" the poor girl was scared to even peep a word (I suspect scared of him) I shake it off thinking my cat needs treatment ASAP and proceeded to the backroom. After screaming for another 10 minutes on the phone he walks in disheveled and barely says hi. Anyway I explained why I'm there and he proceeds to evaluate my cat. Long story short he takes my cat and places her in the back cage and says she must be left he over night to get surgery tomorrow, so I am now discussing with him the procedure because I have no Idea how he works. I agreed to the surgery and asked him if the wound he shaved and exposed would be covered with a band aid or something so she doesn't lick at it. That's it. that was all I asked for this MONSTER to turn into an ANIMMAL on me. He then proceeds to say I KNOW WHAT IAM DOING!! I know the procedure I was going to put a cone on her after I clean up!!!! I said excuse me????? Sir I am asking you questions about my cat being a concerned owner and you being a "Dr" I would think you can answer these questions, instead of rudely just screaming at me that you know the procedure , if so help me understand the procedure. He then says don't call me sir!!! I don't feel comfortable working on your cat!!!! take her and go!!!!! then he GRABS MY CAT WHOS ALREADY IN SO MUCH PAIN and throws her into my cat taxi and places her outside. when I tell you I thought I was being pranked on a TV show I kid you not, that's how OUTRAGEOUS the situation was. I then looked at the receptionist/assistant and said this is a joke right? I don't understand why he is so RUDE? Again the girl looked too scared to even utter a word... I then said sir what is the problem? and he continued SCREAMING OVER ME SAYING NO JUST TAKE HER IM SORRY NO I DONT WANT TO DO IT!!!! I then said if I knew this I wouldn't have let you shave my cats wound and take blood from her and just went elsewhere??... he then says OH SO YOU ARE BLAMING ME NOW??? I was soooo confused and so hurt and already upset about my cats accident I started to cry and said sir why are you acting like this??? you are being very unreasonable, very unfair and just plain RUDE FOR NO REASON!! I was going to call the police at this time because he was not stopping and was continuing to be rude but my cat had an infection and was very weak. I then said where am I supposed to go now that you took all this time from me and everyone is now closed? He said Oradell, I am now in his waiting room and calling Oradell as he says WE ARE CLOSING!!! GET OUT!!!! I looked at him with still tears in my eyes and said ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I then grabbed my cat said to him I hope you are much nicer in the future because this behavior was very out of line and nobody should be treated the way you just treated me, you are a disgusting human being. I strongly believe he needs to be stripped of his license and should not come hundreds, no thousands of feet from another animal let alone humans. He was completely unprofessional and very out of line and very veryyyyy disrespectful. I am going to get in contact with the states medical office and the better business bureau because this Is a very serious case and no one should ever have to come across this nasty person ever again!!!!!!!!

We got to know Dr. Miguel when animal control took the kitten we rescued to him. The kitten was found on a busy street and was not moving. We thought the kitten was dead because he was not moving. Animal control took him and when she moved his head he let out a loud cry. I asked what would happen to him and she said that he will most likely be put down. I said I would like to keep him if I can. She said she would have the vet they use contact me. The animal control vet was Dr. Miguel. Dr Miguel and his staff kept the kitten at the office for 3 weeks or maybe even longer. The kittens jaw was broken, his shoulder was broken, and his paw was broke in 3 spots. He had broken ribs and a bruised lung. Dr Miguel wired his jaw, and eventually had to amputate his front paw. He did not want to amputate at first because he said that I have young kids and he didn't want to leave a bad feeling with the children seeing the kitten that way. After a year or so, the leg had to be amputated. After all his care for the kitten, he did not charge me for anything but the medication and supplies used which was 200 dollars. THAT IS A CARING DOCTOR! He is a good man with a great big heart. You can see that the pets reward him back with kisses. They can truly feel his love for them. Curbie the kitten is now 13 years old and a very healthy cat. You would never know he only has 3 legs with the way that he gets around.

I love taking my dog here and knowing he does emergency surgery is a plus the vet is amazing and nice and patient. You can see he loves what he does and his prices are very cheap compared to Orandell for the same procedure. I remember my dog stayed for a weekend one time and they only charged my family 300$ that included food and care and an additional 100$ for all the medicine and shots.

Incredibly disappointed! They overcharged me for everything. I understand an emergency visit should be more expensive than a regular visit, but should at least have done something to help my pet. They suggested MRI’s which many other vets thought was unnecessary at the moment. Did not give me medication, which took 2 seconds for another vet to prescribe the following morning. It’s useless to go there! Your pet goes through the same or worse risk by going there as if they did not go the vet at all. Very sad!

Besides the fact that this place is a pigsty, the doctor himself is a slob. In the exam room, there were used syringes in open sight, open packages, etc...on the table. Does not clean or sterilize between visits. On top of that, couldn't stop staring at my chest every time he spoke to me. Finally get through the visit, and he prescribes food for my diabetic dog. I order online and the company can't even verify the prescription because they claim he was was rude and disrespectful and wouldn't verbally verify the prescription HE WROTE , claiming he didn't know my dog belonged to me. HE JUST MET US BOTH days ago. Unbelievable. I don't care how cheap he is, its not worth possibly getting your pet sicker or the inconvenience. STAY AWAY. And don't even think about boarding your pet here, I just just don't think it's safe.

This office is offensively disgusting. My dying dog sat in some other dog's pee without me knowing. Then I had to clean it up myself. You could hear animals meowing and barking from the kennel. The whole place looked as if it had never been clean. The doctor doesn't clean appropriately between animals. He, himself, looks dirty and disheveled. Ad he was administering the euthanasia, he looked at my sister and I & tried to make advances at us while we were standing there crying and grieving. Worst part is that his of ice closed over a month ago and I still haven't gotten any word on my dog's remains. You can't leave a message because their voice-mail is full and no one answers any of the doors even though I know that he lives there and there's a car in the driveway. He's a disgusting POS. I will be contacting the state about this.

We went in for an emergency without an appointment. Although there was an understandable wait, the doctor really cared about our dog. He was knowledgable and didn't try to up sell every treatment. Our dog went home feeling better and we didn't have to take out another mortgage on the house to pay for services.

Do not go here. My boyfriend took his pommeranian for a xrays and blood work. He came out of there so upset. The place smelled awful, looked disgusting and the Dr. Seemed unprofessional with appearance and maneuvers. Please be careful. Also when he put the needle to check the dogs temperature he didn't use a plastic . Just a little spray bottle with god knows what in it. Ugh I'm grossed out. Our poor dog . Never again !

DO NOT GO HERE... I got a referral from another doctor as my dog needed an emergency surgery. When I called this doctor he told me he would not operate on my baby without seeing her first as I tried to explain to him that another vet's office had already talked to him about the surgery. He yelled and yelled and said he would not help me with my dog. He hung on me not once but twice. I called him the following day to try to talk to him again. His response was that he will not help me and that I needed to find someone and that he wouldn't see my dog even if I brought her there. This person shouldn't be able to practice.

I took my dog as an emergency, fortunally It was not busy, and he saw her right the way. Dr did X Rays, blood work and immediatly told me she needed surgery. Sugery was on 08/02/19 and Today 08/05/19 my dog is walking and eating good. Her stitches look great. My dog is having a fast recovery from her spayed surgery. His staff was super nice to me and to do puppy. I will be changing vets, even if its kinda far but I get good service and a very good DR taking care of her(Trust me, he knows what he is doing). I've seen many reviews stating he does not wear a coat, or the place is not clean etc... He might not wear a coat, the place was clean for me. What I can tell you is that this man goes above an beyond to save your animals, and for me thats more than wearing a coat. Plus he is very reasonable with the prices. So, I went to the Lyndhurst Animal Hospital with my 5 year old Beagle. I read reviews before going so I had an idea of what to expect. The place is not the nicest place on earth and would benefit from some serious updating. That being said, the Dr. and his staff were super nice, very gentle with my dog, and diagnosed his issue and gave me the meds he needed. The price was more than fair when compared with what I have paid in the past at other places. I will take the dog back there when needed.

I was rather disappointed by the lack of compassion the gentleman at the front desk showed. I was in Jersey City and came across a ferret who had been hit by a car. The people who were there didn't know what to do and we saw that there was an open vet in Lyndhurst (it was Sunday), which is the town I live in. So I took the ferret. I got there, explained the situation and was told to bring her to the Bergen Co. animal shelter. I was like "But it's in pain and needs medical attention." Because I couldn't afford the medical bill, they turned her away! I broke down and offered to pay for the x-ray. I filled out the paperwork and asked if I could come back (because I had plans). He said no and that there was another place down the street. So I took the ferret and left. Luckily the other place had compassionate caring people who helped out the ferret and didn't punish me for trying to do the right thing. If you do not care about an animal's wellbeing, why the heck are you working at a vet's office?

I really loved the care we were provided with and it's definitely one of the most affordable hospitals we've been to. My doggie Alexa had a large blood mass on her tummy and Dr. Michael took great care of us. He ran additional tests as well to make sure there was nothing else wrong with her. It is an emergency hospital so expect at least 2 hr wait since he gets a lot of pets with emergency visits. There is a charge for the emergency visit as well, but during the day it's cheaper than going at night. He also scheduled follow up visits for us at no extra charge.

I first used this vet years ago to euthanize my cat. He took me right away and explained why my cat was suffering so much (stomach tumor). He was very compassionate. And also cheaper than other vets. The next time I brought my dog because he had a tumor on his gums in his mouth. He was very patient and told me it had to be done right away. Although my appointment was canceled at first for an emergency, he ended up doing the surgery on New Years eve. The tumor was not cancerous. Unfortunately I just noticed an other one about an inch away from the one that was removed a year ago. I will be taking him in while this tumor is small. Last time I paid about $550 for everything, which was very reasonable. The office can get very crowded and smelly but no-frills care is what you get with a great doctor and nice staff. Vets do operations on farm animals in barns and barn yards all the time which are not the most sanitary. He is a better doctor than what I encountered on a weekend at Oradell Animal Hospital once.

Called and got an appointment quickly. Took my dog in, and was absolutely disgusted with the office waiting room. Ended up leaving without seeing the vet and making an appointment elsewhere. The office smelled terrible. There were stains and rips all over the seating. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived, but the waiting room was full. We waited several minutes, but when someone finally came out, they didn't address us. They didn't even have the lights on. It felt very unprofessional and unsanitary. My husband and I decided to leave because we didn't even feel comfortable enough to sit down. We didn't trust it for our dog.

So far none of my cats have complained. I think. They don't like to go there, wich i believe is normal for every animal. But all the times that I've been there with my pets, in the room where he supposedly check the animals, there's always an empty box of gloves, i don't know if it's the same one that has been there forever, or I'm just lucky enough to go there every time he runs out of gloves.

I have worked in some of the best animal hospitals in Nj and know how busy they can get but that is no excuse for the rudeness I received over the phone. I was going to be a new client calling to make an appointment and the man on the phone was very rude and hung up on me several times. Needless to say I will NOT be going here and will suggest to everyone I know that recommend that place to switch because they clearly don't care. All I wanted to know was how far they were from the town I work in and he kept giving me the hospital hours and got angry when i corrected him and yelled at me to go somewhere else and hung up on me. I called back to explain that I had already talked to someone else the other day, that I just wanted to make a appointment for a sick kitten I found, he immediately spoke over me and when i asked to speak to the manager he said he was the manager and hung up on me again. HORRIBLE customer service. They should rethink who they hire because when someone calls the person that answers the call represents the Hospital and its standards.... Very disappointing.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Mecheal. He is not about making money, he genuinely cares about your pet and refers to your pet as "the baby". I have now been going to Dr. Mechael since 2008. Initially, I was a bit weary about the location because it did need some TLC but apparently some change of staff and a new face lift have made a HUGE difference. But none of that speaks for the amount of care he gives to the pet! I lost a pet due to someone poisoning the pet right outside of my home and Dr. Mecheal really tried his best. He even performed CPR on the dog even though he was gone by that time. I had a 2nd dog and he urged me to go home and bring him in. He immediately ran blood tests and aggressively treated him to avoid any deterioration as he also had traces of the poison in the system. Dr. Mechael knows us by now and when he sees us coming with our bulldog, he is so pleasant with him. He has given us great advice in his treatment and sometimes helps us out with the bill. We truly appreciate this man and he has been a savior to our pet. We have referred over 50 people who are all so happy with him. He even saved my cousin's chihuahua who was given an injection by another vet that damaged his neurological system and through surgery, an extensive therapy and referral to an amazing rehab specialist, the dog is back up and running and doing so well. The stories go on and on. Don't let the negative stories you read here influence you. Youll read repeatedly about how great he is with the pets and that is all that matters. Care of your pet with genuine interest and without breaking your pocket.

When an animal rescue has to call the state to have the place shut down, you know it must be bad. I worked across the street and constantly saw the cops going there. The vet and his wife have horrible attitudes and the place is a filth hole. Please, don’t take your animals there just because he’s less expensive than the place down the road. Get yourself a care credit card and go somewhere else. Trust me, for your pets sake.

Do not go here!! The doctor (middle eastern)had a horrible attitude. The reason for my visit was to get my dogs shots because we were leaving the country for vacation. The first thing he did was yell at my dog at the top of his lungs, for growling (because he was scared at the moment). After he gave him all the shots, he handed me the paper work. Once he charged me for something that he never said he would charge me for, he snatched the paper's out of my hand (which stated all the shots he had) because I told him I didnt want to pay for the extra thing he wanted to charge me for (which I never agreed to). My girlfriend was there to calm me down because I was upset for the way he snatched it from my hand. Now it has become a nightmare to get all this paper work for us to travel. Do Not Go Here, he is very unprofessional and I'm surprised he isn't shut down because of a lawsuit. Might see one coming your way soon buddy.

Absolutely HORRIBLE place, I refuse to even call this person a veterinarian! I walked into the place with a dog that was in complete distress, GASPING FOR AIR, the "DOCTOR" refused to help the poor dog, he sat there with a smug-look and said, "we don't take emergencies." He is the BEST vet ever! he loves animals and he is very knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. He saved my dog years ago when his stomach flipped even though my dog was 16 at the same - he saved him. He also did surgery for his anal sacs area and it was a complete success. Other vets told me to do that when my dog was very young but Dr Mechel was very honest and told me it wasn't needed. My dog went withouth surgery for years until he was old. In one word, Dr Mechel is an excellent vet and I recommend him 100%. The place used to be a little sloppy but now it looks clean and bright.

I don't usually post reviews, but I had to in this situation, and it's going to be a long one. We came to this animal hospital after a mix-up at another vet. We needed to get our newly adopted shelter dog a check-up because he seemed to have an ear infection. After waiting an incredibly long time in the smelly waiting room, the vet took one look at him and diagnosed several illnesses and a more advanced age than we'd been told. Rather than run tests and try to see what he could do, he essentially told us to return him to the shelter and to consider whether he was even worth treating, since it would be costly. He was gentle in his delivery, and took pity on us with the visit charge, but we were absolutely devastated, as our dog had already captured our hearts. After a day of mourning, we decided not to give up and found another vet in Clifton who saw him and didn't sugar coat his diagnoses, but also came up with a detailed treatment plan. Now, a month later, our dog is recovering from his much needed surgery and has improved dramatically across the board. If we'd listened to this vet, our beloved dog would've been relegated to being put down. I'm glad we gave our little guy another chance. If you have *any* concerns about your dog, please, PLEASE take them elsewhere.

this place shouldn't be called a animal hospital, this place is dirty and repugnant, the so-called Dr is very unprofessional and does not follow the OSHA standards of contact precaution meaning he doesn't even used gloves for procedures. the place smells and looks like it hasn't been clean since it was opened, the DR looks like a homeless. the tools weren't clean, they had blood and hair provably left from other animals. the walls had mucous and dirt. this place should be closed down, and please as a animal lovers and owners do bit bring you pets to this place. ****giving this place one star is a lot.

I would not go anywhere else, or let any other individual care for any one of my animals.. I have been coming here for years, and he has always made me feel like he loved my dog like his own! He has saved my dog's life on multiple occasions. He is the best! Now, I actually live an hour away and still only see him! I highly recommend him.. You have to look past the appearance of the place and worry about the care of your pet! Plus, you absolutely cannot beat the price!

Not the prittiest but the dr knows his stuff.. Works quickly and very healofull and friendly stall. And very inexpensive.. Less than half of your average vet.. He performed an operation for a couple hundred dollars that saved our pets live.. We had another pet with the same problem that anther vet in Fairfield wanted over $3000.00 to do the same operation.. I give Lyndhurst Animal Hospital an A+++

This place is a death trap. Yes it's cheap but it will cost your pets life or limb. The vet he is rough and uncompassionate. He almost killed my dog. My dog had a broken leg and when I came in to adjust her cast he stuffed her cast so Callously as she cried. After her cast fell off anyway I rushed her to the vet and sat there for over 3 hours no exaggeration. Her paw got more and more swollen and began to bleed and I left her there over night so he could re cast her but he never got to her until 2 days later. Her paw got infected and about 5 to 6 days later the infection already ate her paw and it smelled. I rushed her back to him and he opened up her cast so rough with no pain meds or compassion. I did everything right with putting a bag over her cast made sure it stayed dry. And when he opened up her cast like a monster she cried and I felt complicit in her pain like this was wrong. He yelled at me saying it was urine and it was my fault. I cried so much in confusion. Against my bad feeling I left her there again. I felt so bad and guilty. The cast was so smelly and gooey from the puss and green and yellow infection. Her 2 outside finger fell off and her big black pad fell off. He finally gave her antibiotics but didn't mix it right so she wasn't getting the medicine right. The infection got worse and I went to Oradell hospital instead. They FINALLY gave her the proper care and pain med! This poor girl was in massively sever pain with no pain meds at all! She went through hell! She's a 7 pound Chihuahua and she suffered. This vet should lose his license. He's called the vet of death. The bad reviews are real. Listen to your gut instinct. I get it vets are expensive and we do what we can but this place is NOT worth it. It seems as though he didn't become a vet because he loves animals, it seems he became a vet because it was an income. I tried to ask him questions and he rolled his eyes at me like what do I want after waiting for hours in that office for hours! It is ridiculously disorganized there. The most unprofessional and dangerous place to take your pet. DON'T DO IT! STAY AWAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT YOUR PET TO BE ALIVE AND WELL. My dog is now a special needs dog with missing toes and pad. Heed the warnings! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL FOR ANIMALS!

Hes a very good vet. Helped us after hours when I had to bring my cat in. May he R.I.P I love you Jinx Edit 4 months later: never going to this dr again. We brought my cat to him and he said nothing was wrong...we had to put the cat to sleep. 1 month later we took our dog to him and "nothing was wrong" 2 weeks later we had to put our dog down.

Unprofessional, they gave appt. for 9.30am arrived at 9.20 and 8 people in fromg of me, waited for half an hour and realized no one going in and out to doctors room. I asked how long more should take, she said doctor not in yet, should be here in half an hour :) i said why you give appt. to all these 7 people hour before doktor here, plus 1-2 hour to for the people in front of me, 9.30 appoitment and estimated time see the doctor arround 12.30 :)) i left of course. This is the 3rd time tried to go this place because heard very cheap, and always same situation. Another thing is , place is discusting , you can get sick from this place there was a blood on the chair.

This is the BEST veterinarian I have ever used. He is so kind and professional with the animals. Yes the place has a strong smell when you walk in, but so what. Get over it. His prices are great, and he is so empathetic to the animals. I’ve used him for ten years. I put both of my dogs down this winter and he was amazing. I was a wreck and he waited till all of his patients were gone for the night before he did it. He let me stay for as long as I needed to say goodbye after the procedure was done. They are professional and very courteous.

This place is a pigsty!! Do yourself a favor and ask to use the bathroom and take a peek at the kennels and operating room just so you can how absolutely disgusting this place is!! No sterilization methods, rusty equipment, dried up blood everywhere and disgusting floors to say the least! The place reeks of feces and urine not because it's an animal hospital but because there are pets kept in kennels that lay in their own feces and urine all day! He runs a neutering/spaying chop shop! Smiles in your face and tells you what you want to hear about your pet and then I've personally seen him throw pets harshly in the kennels after owners leave. Dry IV's hanging off of recovering pets and then changing them as soon as the owners comes in! Hes a fraud! I know this information first hand! If you love your pet please stay away from this filthy animal hospital! Take your business elsewhere!

i came here after seeing a number of other vets who had overcharged me for years. after trying to price out an emergency surgery with a few local vets, i spoke to the gentleman who i adopted my pets from. he led me here to this doctor. what i was told was going to be a three - part surgery from all varying vets who saw my pet, this doctor was able to do in one shot - which is so important, as we know that our animals are very sensitive and the extra stress is so detrimental to their health. my baby is now happy, healthy, and thriving! myself and my family now bring all of our animals here and will continue to. this doctor is very honest and works with you, even when you are overwhelmed and overcome by very sad circumstances with your beloved pet. not every one likes blunt honesty, but he is a wonderful doctor, who will take an emergency (hit and run in the middle of the night!) at all hours of the day. he is an angel to me and those he's helped and works constantly. i'll take foul odors and a long wait any day for proper care - i thank him endlessly.

I found a tiny kitten. I cleaned it up as much as possible. I took it to a chain pet store and was told it wasn't going to make it. I asked for a list of vet hospitals and drove kitty to Lyndhurst Animal Hospital. Doc: cleaned kitty up; started IV fluid; brushed off some fleas and ticks; rx'd antibiotics, vitamins, and formula. Today, Beeps is growing, thriving, and getting along with its brothers bunny and puppy. Beeps is also helping out at the Senior Center on Saturdays. BEEPS AND I THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO DOC!!!
