I’m so glad we found this place! Just moved to the area and my cat had a health crisis. They are so caring there! Dr. Dolin takes time to explain everything. We’ve moved to another town but I still go there because they know my cat’s condition and are so caring I don’t want to change.

Dr. Ann Dolin is a brilliant, kind, and compassionate veterinarian, who took exceptional loving care of my late beagle, Princess. She is the finest of veterinarians, and the finest of human beings. She took a strong, personal interest in the well- being of my pet, and nursed her through her final bout with squamous cell throat cancer. Initially, Princess had a chronic cough that was misdiagnosed/ignored by another vet. When Dr. Ann took over the case she researched it thoroughly and realized Princess had a collapsing trachea and other problems. Dr. Ann didn't stop doing her homework until she found a solution. In fact, I am convinced that Dr. Ann prolonged my beagle's life by a good two and a half years. Two years later, Princess developed throat cancer. She was given 3 months to live, but under Dr. Ann's care she lived for 7 months. Dr. Ann was always there when Princess and I needed her; she knew how very much Princess meant to my family. Princess was a super smart beagle and very much loved; when the time came Dr. Ann let me know. My beagle was peacefully euthanized at the age of 13 surrounded by her loving family. Dr. Ann made the procedure not scary like I thought Dr. Ann Dolin and her staff are fantastic and compassionate; I highly recommend Dr. Ann and Essex Animal Hospital!

Sometimes health care professionals lose their passion or reason for practicing. This is far from the case for Dr. Dolin and all the medical staff at Essex Animal Hospital. I loved every minute of being there and felt they all truly cared for the kittens I brought in. I feel he is competent, compassionate, and driven (All characteristics of a good medical provider). Not only was I comfortable but the kittens actually reacted so well to them. May you always keep these traits and love of your field of practice. Thank you for your diligence and care. I highly recommend them..

I’ve brought my dogs here for years. We’ve always received wonderful service and everyone is caring and professional. Dr. Dolin really helped me out a few years ago when I was taking my dog out of the country. Paris is feeling much better. This is a great animal hospital!!!

Again, I cant say enough good things about Essex Animal Hospital. My dog stopped eating on a Friday and they were booked the whole weekend but found a way for me to drop her off so they could run blood tests and then my husband and I could come back to get her. My dog LOVES the office staff, especially Patty. All three doctors are thorough and spend time answering all your questions. We have also brought our new kitten here and feel confident that what ever they tell us is the truth.

I recently moved and chose this place for my new vet. Happy with my decision. They don't recommend unnecessary procedures. Pricing seems fair so far. I dealt with a couple of the vets there and all seem good so far.

Visited Essex Animal hospital this afternoon with my pooch who has conjunctivitis. Staff very pleasant. Will the veterinaran's assistant was wonderful with my Rocky, just great. I was informed of the procedure and an estimate of the bill was printed and delivered to the into the exam room for $241.11which I was informed included medications. Upon attempting to pay the bill of $241, I'm now being told the bill is $321.80. So when I started to question, the receptionist was got really annoyed.... so now she pulls another bill from behind desk and hands it to me for 321.80.... Then she says it's because you received 2 eye drops... so an extra $75 for cyclosporine drops... the transaction was handled poorly and unprofessionally by the receptionist and the vet. I will not follow up with the office, will find another veterinarian to care properly for my baby.

I recently had to take my baby Barbie there and it wasn't a happy thought because it's the doctor (if you know what I mean.) and for you animal lovers I know you understand. Because to me and to you they are "our family" and we love them just as much. (Sometimes even more) lol! However I am pleased with the service there and the doctor that Barbie saw. She went there this summer for a check-up and it was a guy doctor but I can't remember his name. But this time it was dr. Ann and she was very attentive and when she spoke to us it was if we were the only ones in the world that she has spoken to on the matter. Because I know she has spoken on the subject being a doctor, like this before to another fur baby's mother. So I say this to say I am satisfied at this point and I was just happy that there was no surgery in the future for her and I pray that there won't be any need for it at all. Nor need for a second opinion because as I said dr. Anne was great. The staff is wonderful they are friendly. They understand and that is something we animal family lovers completely need especially at a time of need. My Barbie and I are pleased and we are thankful to #GOD for dr. Anne.

I have never had a negative experience with the doctors or their staff. They have always been attentive, kind and gentle with my JackJack. He has been there for regular checkups and seen in a pinch for emergencies.

Charged us $700 to examine our dog. Did not give us answer to what was wrong with him. We were told “keep an eye on him”. We took him home and he only got worse so we had to rush him to the emergency vet where they knew exactly what to do. If we did not bring him the emergency vet said he would have died. Very unprofessional and will never go back.

Went there for the first time this week. Overall I was really impressed! Front desk staff was super friendly from the initial scheduling call all the way through the visit. The vet we saw was really sweet with my cat and really comforting to me when I was really concerned. He had great bedside manner which I was very impressed with because it's so rare that someone can be so informative and so humorous at the same time! He took time to really answer my questions when he sensed my hesitation which I really appreciated. Truly the only reason i wouldn't give 5 stars right now is because the female vet tech who was in for my appointment rubbed me the wrong way (the male tech who visited briefly was wonderful though!!!). She seemed a bit cold/judgemental when I explained the situation with my cat (I went for help not judgement) and she just wasn't as comforting to my furry little man as i would have liked. Maybe it was just a bad day? Or maybe my last vet just had exceptionally sweet techs. Anyway, still a great experience over all!

The staff here is just amazing! We just switched our vet to this one as we moved into the area. They are so nice here. My dog is quite a nervous pup and they were so patient with her (and me LOL). They really show they care about animals and took the time to explain everything to me. The pricing is also incredible!! Definitely recommend!!

After going to a few other vets over the years, no one was ever able to help my cat. He ended up getting much worse and was almost at a point where I would have needed to euthanize him. Dr. Ann helped him on his first visit there and continues to monitor him closely. He’s doing better than he has in almost a decade. I truly believe that she saved his life and I am forever grateful. I highly recommend her.

Im not one to write reviews, only read them. But I had to do it to express how AMAZING they are. Im a new fur mom to a 2 month Cockapoo and I was beyond a ball of emotions. Smooth sailing, from scheduling the appointment, being very informative about what to expect and even ball park cost. We went in and right away they were prepared for our visit, with a packet of info and a cute leash. The receptionists are so sweet, the tech was so informative and answer all of my questions. Dr. G is so funny and make the appointment a breeze. Follow up emails and information is also useful. I was shopping around different vets and Im happy we found Essex Animal Hospital. Thank you guys!

Brought our kitten here for a very unfortunate euthanasia caused by what seemed to be FIP. When we called the receptionist was very friendly and nice. She made everything very easy and was understanding about our kitten being in so much pain and needing immediate help. The vet and his assistant (Nurse?) did an examination, paid more attention to detail, and were very kind and understanding about the position we were in. They were both knowledgeable and told us the options we had. The euthanasia was done properly and quickly and I'm very happy that we brought our baby there to be put out of his pain. My future pets will only be coming to this animal hospital even though it's a good half hour away from where I live. Highly recommended.
