We bring all three of our animals here (2 dogs and 1 cat). We love the services and the response that the team gives which is why we have remained clients of theirs even though we've moved twice (we travel to get there because we love it so much). All the technicians and vets make us and our fur babies feel really comfortable. They all are very knowledgeable.

I used to love bringing my dogs here when Dr. Palmer was here, since she left the experience just hasn't been the same. I LOVE the front desk girls, I think they're absolutely fantastic! My recent visit was so disappointing. I had brought in a new dog that I took home recently from work for an exam and vaccinations and it seems like there was a huge disconnect between the technician and the doctor we saw. I had discussed all the vaccinations my dog needed, as well as microchip and mentioned she's had some GI upset for the last 2 days so if they could prescribe Metronidazole that would be appreciated too (since I have probiotics at home and had done a bland diet). When the doctor came in she just had a bad attitude right from the start with "I just read 40 pages of medical history and have no idea why you're here". Having the same discussion I just had with the technician before she came in, she was doing her examination asking me questions- I would answer them and she would tell me not to talk to her while she was doing her exam.. immediately told my that my dog had a heart murmur (which she doesn't, she's been examined by 5 different vets at the emergency hospital I work for AND our new vet since switching hospitals) and then continued to play the "if you work at a veterinary facility why can't you do xyz there? why can't you get xyz medications there?". It just felt super stand-offish and super uncomfortable as if I was inconveniencing her for even being there. I had put my dog in the car before paying and found out they only did 3 of the vaccinations I had requested and didn't microchip her- the receptionist was super nice and offered to have me bring my dog back in but I honestly just wanted to leave at that point. I'm honestly not sure if I'll be going back for my other two dogs yearly exams and vaccinations, but I for sure will not take my newer dog here ever again.

Really liked this hospital until we started having seizure issues with our 1 year old husky. More times than not we were not able to see our nornal doctor and the doctor we did see had no knowledge on the breed. The doctor could not answer questions about anything about possible causes just wanted to give meds. We also brought our second puppy in for his first visit and when he was brought in for the second time the staff could not find his records from his previous visit. It took weeks for the staff to provide us with what vaccines he was given. When we called in with concern about not knowing the vaccines the staff member told us multiple times she did not believe the practice manager could help us before finally telling us they would have him call us.

Necessary to go in on a Saturday, without an appointment for my elderly cat to be seen. Greeted warmly by receptionist, taken immediately into room. Denise, the vet tech, was kind and considerate as she entered info into computer, and we discussed reason for coming in, as well as making me aware, of the fee for walking in to a non-scheduled appt. Seen, very shortly after, by Dr. Wilson, who was also kind and compassionate as she checked my fur-baby over, and created a treatment plan that she reviewed with me and kindly answered all my questions, including cost of each. There was no eye-rolling or judgements taking place-it was understood that financial constraints are a part of many peoples lives. Within minutes, he was gently whisked out back to perform the treatments, as I was kept informed of cytology results and change in antibiotic choice. I very rarely, if ever, write a review, but I was SO impressed with the care, compassion, kindness and consideration shown to my cat and to myself, that I had to make others aware.

We brought my 18 year old Siamese here for the first time and we're treated very well. So far, it seems we've made positive progress with kidney issues. Couldn't be happier with Dr. Caruso and her staff. They have been very comforting and knowledgeable and we feel very encouraged to have made their aquaintence. We've found the office affordable and the staff enthusiastic and kind.

Very good vet but very pricy on med brought my dog in twice for the same problem and was unable to afforded to get the meds they offered no assistance to get just a partial prescription until i could get the rest later in the week .not sure if i will be able to keep my dog due to financial restraints he is so sick and needs meds

I have had an amazing experience in the short time i have been a member over at Salem Animal Hospital. First, looks can be deceiving from the outside. The inside is beautiful and looks to be recently renovated. Sometimes you walk into vet clinics and it has a certain smell-not here! The staff are very welcoming and inviting to both you and your fur baby. We were given Dr. Wilson as out vet and our tech is Marissa. Both could not be nicer or more thorough which is so important as new dog owners! We had to run in and grab medicine one day recently on a non-appointment day. I asked a question very quickly in the lobby, so I know it wasn't documented. A day later, i received a follow up call asking how our puppy was doing with that issue. So, in all the craziness that was going on, they remembered he was sick and called to make sure he was ok. I thought that was just awesome that they not only remembered, but called to check in! A truly great place to bring your fur babies for the best care around

Went in just to buy a cheap platic e collar that costs 5.00! refused to let me buy one sayng they cost more then the aftermarket ones on thier wall they selling..i was at Rockingham Emergency Hospital and had my cat looked at and on their invoice said $5.00! and i happen to be near this vet...i end up buying one on there wall,shame oo them for being greedy

My family had an emergency situation with my dog Peyton having cluster seizures, which are very very frightening to watch your pet go through; after calling Salem Animal Hospital they were able to connect me with an Emergency Hospital who kept Peyton overnight and treated him and he is no on medication and being monitored by Salem Animal Hospital and happy to say he has been seizure free for a month now..... Yahoo

This place is wonderful! Everyone who helped me was so nice. I had a hard time finding some where that has a vet who knows about bunnies but I'm glad I found this vet. She didn't push me to do anything that I didn't want to and they were so nice and caring with my bunny. I didn't feel rushed at all and the vet made sure she thoroughly knew everything about him before checking him herself. I felt like she actually cared and I wasn't just another client like how I've felt with other vets. I would highly recommend this place!
