Good place to bring your pets!

Did not have a great experience with my dog there. I brought my dog in to be treated and they waited too long (they wanted to see if it would “clear up on its own”) and we ended up with multiple appointments, more medications than would’ve been previously needed, more suffering by my dog, sleepless nights, exacerbation of all his symptoms, more complications, and much more money. The owner/or director was extremely rude to my husband. The quality of care is poor. Their prices are higher. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because their nursing staff was awesome and they were always pretty available when my dog needed to be seen. Needles to say my dog will not be going back to Ponemah.

Always have to wait a long time to be seen even with appointment while staff seems to be walking around with nothing to do. Vets are good though.

Our Emma gave us our best; it was time for her to rest at 17 years old. I can't say enough about the compassion this office showed us through the whole process of letting our pet go. Dr. Edwards was wonderfully caring; the facility had a lovely room thoughtfully designed for those final moments together; even the office staff upon our leaving had a lit candle at the reception window with a note of reverence. Following days brought an office signed sympathy card and a memorial gift of a tree planting in Emma's name. All such beautiful gestures that left our decision to say good-bye to our faithful companion less painful. Thank you, Ponemah Veterinary, for all your support!

Dr. Estle has such an incredible way about her. In 20 years of dog ownership, I have never had a vet treat my pet so kindly, calmly and sweetly, as if it were her own. The techs and front desk are equally caring and sensitive, I never feel like I am just another appointment. I see other reviewers share my sentiments which tells me this is just who they are, with every client, everyday. I am also moving far enough that an appointment here is a "day trip". I will gladly pack a lunch and go!

Super kind doctors and staff. They helped me through the hard time of losing my cat. They were sensitive and understanding. After the passing of Paisley, I received a sympathy card in the mail AND a car saying they donated a tree on his behalf. Both were very unexpected and incredibly appreciated.

I've been to Ponemah 3 times now for a few of my animals and was referred by my friend Victoria S! The staff is ALWAYS extremely friendly and are so good with my babies! They have a special room for cats that has a diffuser that emits pheromones to help them relax and honestly I noticed a difference with my kitties! Dr. Estelle is awesome and so gentle and caring! I've also had Dr. Huelle(?) And he was awesome too! I will be getting surgery soon for my kitties (dental work) and while going over the estimate they showed me just how much pain management they do and it makes me feel so comfortable knowing they care about not only the well being of my babies, but their pain! I really have never been to another vet office like this and will be staying for all 5 of my babies! I also dont feel like the prices are outrageous for all you and your babies get! Highly highly recommend!

I am so very impressed with their practice. My cat Lyla is frightened of everything, but their "no fear" policy helped her get through her examination with purrs. I can not recommend them enough! So happy I found them!

My guinea pig was having an issue with her eye (this was on a Saturday), and my primary vet was not available, nor were any others nearby. I happened to call Ponemah Veterinary Hospital, and they were able to see my guinea pig right away. The vet tech (I unfortunately do not remember her name) was fabulous! The woman at the front desk was very kind. Dr. Estle was compassionate, easy to talk to, gentle with my guinea pig, knowledgeable, and was able to diagnose the issue. It's quite apparent that the people who work here are passionate about animals and their welfare.

The staff was so friendly when we came in which really helped me feel better in light of bringing our injured dog in. They were compassionate and did a great job. I highly recommend them, but I hope we don't ever have to go back under similar circumstances.

Dr. Edwards and her staff are awesome. They are so friendly to us and our dog, Charley. We got Charley as a puppy and his initial care required some special handling... he was a whopping 2.4 lbs when we brought him for his first visit. They take the time to explain everything and call us to check on his status after we take him in for treatments. They tell me to bring him down anytime, just to say hi... and I know they really mean it. You gotta love "Lester the Cat"... he thinks he is the office watch-cat!

I can not overstate how much I love this practice! I have had dogs my entire life and I have taken them to several veterinary practices that I loved but none are better than Ponemah. Everyone I have encountered in the office is exceptionally competent, incredibly sweet and caring, and go above and beyond to make sure my dogs are well cared for. Dr. Edwards and Dr. Estle are fantastic. They are exactly what I want in a veterinarian. They are always sincerely concerned yet not alarmist about health issues my dogs have had. They always take as much time as I need to completely understand my dogs health conditions and their treatment recommendations. The staff is hyper efficient and super friendly to my dogs and to me. I can not thank the crew at Ponemah Veterinary Hospital enough. I am moving out of state this summer and I am only half kidding when I say that it would be worth the 4 hour drive each way to keep coming to Ponemah Veterinary Hospital.

Ponemah Veterinary Hospital is outstanding! Everyone is kind, welcoming, professional, understanding and knowledgeable. They have given excellent and thorough care to my two dogs. They took special care of my oldest dog who had surgery. It was a success and she recovered with no issues whatsoever. I trust them 100% with my pups. Highly recommend!

I feel like every time I brought my pets there they cared more about upselling me stuff and procedures than they did for my pets. Also much more expensive than other vets, but I guess thats what I get for going to a vet in Amherst. Got 2 pets fixed and the Only thing I really did like is their laser surgeries really do heal quickly. But I am going to switch vets for the rest of my pets shots and routine care from now on because I don't want to keep being sold and dealing with them trying to scare us into unnecessary treatments.

Staff is always friendly and ready to assist you. I not only felt my dog was in good hands but that they really cared. They are an hour from me but we'll worth the drive!

I came home from work to my dog acting super unusual so they offered to have me in right away even though they were closing in a half hour. They "gave it to me straight" and didn't pressure me into doing unnecessary tests as I have experienced at other vets before. I was happy and will continue to bring my pets to them.

I recently switched to Ponemah Veterinary Hospital, as my 9 year old Frenchton has been declining rapidly and despite having paid for every test under the sun at my prior vet to nail down a cause, I still had no answers. I wanted to explore a second opinion. I am so glad I did! Dr Troy Huelle gave my little man Flex a comprehensive examination and fairly quickly determined what was causing his symptoms. Since the problem had gone undiagnosed for so long with my prior vet we are now battling residual health issues that have come up, but it's incredible how the entire staff has come together to make me feel like we are all in this together. I'm also VERY impressed with their bedside manner! When I scheduled my first appointment at Ponemah I mentioned that Flex is very skittish at the vet. They remembered and without additional prompting took additional steps to make sure Flex was at ease (one tactic was to distract him with a spoon of Cheez-wiz while receiving a shot and having blood drawn - genius!). He actually likes going to see Dr Huelle! And their prices are so much more reasonable than my prior vet. I never write such long reviews but I am truly grateful to have found Ponemah!!
