We have been going to Lafayette Animal for about 20 years now and I highly recommend them. Dr. Schmidt and Kathy have a great team working with them. Kathy and Lisa are always very helpful with answers to questions about our pets. The entire staff are friendly and professional. They have seen us through a lot of different situations with our animals over the years and we appreciate all they have done for our family. Keep up the good work!

We have been bringing our 6 year old lab mix to Dr. Schmidt since he was 4 weeks old. The service is exceptional and they really care about making sure he is as healthy as he can be. Always answer any and all questions oftentimes over the phone, saving us an appt. Highly recommend!

Dr. Schmidt and Kathy have cared for my pets for over 13 years and I can't imagine anyone with more compassion and understanding. My amazing and beautiful black lab has been through a lot and her first few years were very rough. But having Dr. Schmidt and Kathy by our sides we have had 12 wonderful years and I hope for many more! Their decisions and support helped make it possible. When in an emergency setting we were urged to put her down but Dr. Schmidt helped us make all the right decisions, he pointed us in the right directions and was honest, they were always honest. I adore all their staff, they are always there when I'm happy, worried or have a million questions. I could never thank Lafayette Animal Hospital enough. I hope everyone with a furry family member is as lucky as we are with our choice of veterinarian care.

I am a patient person and I trust those who are qualified beyond my knowledge...especially when it comes to my sick dog. In no way will I ever take my dog or let anyone I care about take their animals to the Lafayette Animal Hospital. I brought my dog in to them for 3 days in a row, asking them to just put him on an IV b/c he was diagnosed with HGE and they neglected to do so...by their negligence he almost died and cost me so much more in emergency vet medical bills. The best part of their practice is Lisa, their front receptionist, b/c she is saint for having to deal with all the heartbreak that goes on in there. Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Arsenault alternate their days there, so if one saw my sick dog one day, another would see him the next. No compassion and not trustworthy. You are better off researching it yourself, you are sure to make a better self diagnostic than they are. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Our dog was hit by a car and ran away on Monday. We found her today, Wednesday. Lafayette Animal Hospital was so helpful during this trauma to the dog and us. They told us all the places to call to get ball rolling to find her and how to care for her when she got back. They told us not to rush her in, that she already had a lot of stress and trauma. Then when I was concerned that she had a broken leg, they said we needed to just showed tough love and get her in to be seen instead of waiting. I had called them 4 or 5 times after she got back and they were patient every single time. They could have done lots of expensive tests, but are very considerate and thoughtful about what is absolutely necessary. I love this place and Dr. Schmidt...and Kathy!

Dr. Schmidt and staff have cared for our 8 year old Boston Terrier Lily since the day we brought her home at 8 weeks old. They have been absolutely wonderful, especially when we had to go beyond Lily's usual check-up and shots and have surgery this year.

I have the highest regard for the care that my received at this veterinary practice over the course of 14 years that we have been bringing my dog there (and our other dogs for longer than that.) I appreciate the judgement free care and services Dr. Schmidt and his staff provide. I have never hesitated to recommend this practice for reasonably priced and common-sense approach to the needs of our pets. On more than one occasion he eased my mind when I thought that my dog had serious injuries or emergencies. Dr. Schmidt and his staff went above and beyond (which I know from experience is the norm) in getting an appointment as soon as it was possible for me to bring my dog in for evaluation and helping me to make the painful end of life decision. They made everything in this agonizing process as compassionate as possible for both my dog and me.
