My experience couldn't have been any better! The staff is amazing. They are so kind and gentle and knowledgable. They were great with my older dog and they took the time to explain everything to me and gave me time to ask questions. They gave me a confident diagnosis and a range of treatment options without pushing any particular treatment. Thank you Hudson Animal Hospital!

Absolutely wonderful vet! Probably the best I've been to anywhere. Dr. Angiello was wonderful with my beagle who is usually quite nervous at the vet. The staff were all delightful and very helpful and accommodating. They made time on the same day for a new patient to visit due to a large bump she had scratched off and was quite raw and bleeding now. Then they had time the following morning to get in her to remove the remainder of the bump. Dr. Angiello personally called after the surgery was finished to let me know how it went and what to expect. He even called the next day on a Saturday to make sure she was still recovering fine. Absolutely excellent care and you can tell he really cares about the animals he treats. Finally, as to price, I have to say the office visit charge was very reasonable for NYC. A few dollars less than the last vet I took her to in the city yet I received far superior service from Hudson Animal Hospital (and they have a very nice office). The cost for the small surgery she had seemed to be fairly reasonable again for NYC compared to what my parents have paid for a mass removal on their dog in Tennessee. They even cut her nails for free without my asking while she was under for the surgery. I had meant to ask them to do this as her nails had grown long since the last time I cut them, but it totally slipped my mind. Obviously they pay great attention to everything without being solely focused on what she was brought in for. Overall, can't say enough positive things about Hudson Animal Hospital. When I first moved to NYC the vet I took her to I wasn't too pleased with and I knew I was going to have to find another vet going forward. I had already picked Hudson Animal Hospital to try next and am very glad I did!

Skip this place. They are after your wallet. Not after caring for your pet. They cut the nails on our dog, injuring the dogs paws, he came back bleeding. Told us “it happens...”. Charged us twice for the same medical travel form - twice within one month. Arrogant lady doctor/owner (chris the other doctor is super nice and a fine person.)

Toby was well attended to at Hudson Animal Hospital. Friendly and attentive staff. Never feel rushed out.

The best Vets and kindest workers I have ever encountered. They will bend over backwards to insure that your pet is well taken care of and they're are reasonably priced. The quality service is unmatched...I use to drive from the Northern section of the Bronx, or take public transport, just to take my pets to this facility. I am now living in North White Plains, and I will continue to go to them despite the travel, because they're that amazing. ~O.D.

We've been going here for over 17 years and they have always been wonderful with us and our pets! Everyone is kind and compassionate, and considerate of the animals and the financial aspect of things as well.

Hands down the best animal hospital around. Very personable, kind, honest, and loving. I owe my best friends life to this place. Each and every vet & technician went above and beyond for my buddy and I. Also want to thank hudson animal control for all they have done for my family and I. The compassion here is incredible !

David Timmons

The staff is professional, helpful and thoughtful. I genuinely believe my dog is in great hands here.

nora oy

Great team & great experience although my dog hates to go to hospital.

Kevin MacDonald

Great care for our cats!

Julia Brand

Expensive and unprofessional. That's no way to treat our German Shepherd pup, or a new customer for that matter. We are not coming back here! Heard of better vets in the neighborhood, such as the ones on 67th street called Lincoln Square Vets? Only giving this vet 2 stars due to having plenty of availability, but maybe that should have been a sign .

The Hudson animal hospital staff are very caring about your fur babies. My fur baby seems to be very comfortable with the staff. They keep telling my fur baby he was doing really.

Jessica Li

This is the first review I have ever written but Hudson Animal Hospital deserves very good word. Great service, quick action, caring and experienced doctor, and warm-hearted staff. Definitely recommend to all my friends!

Ashley Ortiz

Wonderful, compassionate staff. I have always had bad experiences with vets and I am afraid to trust people with my best friend, but I can say without a doubt that these people genuinely care about these animals. My elderly dog had to undergo dental surgery, which I was terrified about due to her age and the anesthesia risk, but knowing that Dr. Yoshida had undergone extra training specifically for dentals, and seeing how compassionate she and her staff were reassured me. The surgery was a success and I believe my little dog is healthier and happier because of it. Throughout the whole process they stayed in contact with me and personally called me to give more information and make sure she was okay. They even cut her nails for free, and never made me feel embarrassed for going in there crying every day, haha. Dr. Yoshida is very kind and takes her time thoroughly explaining everything you need to know about your dog's health and treatment, through phone call or email. The office is very clean and inviting, and everyone here is very well informed and sweet to your pet. The receptionist is very gentle and it's not hard to get an appointment, he always tries his best to squeeze you in. I cannot say enough nice things about them. It is a little expensive depending on your income but I don't think it's too bad for the upper west side. Regardless, they are very clear about price and double check to make sure that your finances are in order. You will not find a more personal vet in the entire city, they are the sweetest people I've ever dealt with who prioritize your pet's needs as much as you do. And they have a coffee machine. I love you guys!!

This is my hometown vet and I still go to them because of the loyalty they have earned. When I was younger and my cat showed signs of illness, they helped me come up with the best at-home care regimen possible even though their advice was to admit him for testing and IVs. I just couldn't afford that, but I was willing to learn from them and implement the home care they advised, and he recovered quickly. If they weren't willing to discuss alternatives with me, I'm not sure my cat would have survived. Luckily, though I ultimately don't know what caused his illness, he was able to have another chance because of their compassion. Even when experiences haven't had such happy endings, I have always known them to be very caring and patient. On the other hand, they did misschedule my dogs surgery appointment, which meant my poor puppy had to sit in a kennel that scared her for longer than necessary. It turned out that I had a family emergency that day and it made a difference. I was waiting in the dark in the lot for someone to show up despite a confirmation call the night before. All in all, I really appreciate this place and continue to go.

Recently bought out by a corporate organization and can notice the difference. Prices are extremely high and I feel they are suggesting services that are not needed just to up the cost. I’ve been going here for years however due to a few recent bad experiences with how the staff has treated me and the prices going up I am switching and will no longer be going here. Gave 2 stars because MOST of the staff and vets are friendly and caring however the few bad experiences I have had recently really bothered me and therefore 2 stars is what I feel is accurate at this time

Simon Dunham

Very happy with this vet. Cost is reasonable for Manhattan. I've worked with Dr's Angiolo and Yoshida and both were excellent. Knowledgeable, but take alot of time to discuss treatment with you and make sure you understand the plan and the reason for it. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Dustin McClung

The people are nice. The vet we met was knowledgeable and found our problem quickly. Only downside is the price of medicine...

I’m a picky dog parent and wouldn’t trust anyone but the best with my rescue pup. I always feel like my dog is in excellent hands when she visits Hudson Animal Hospital. The service from the staff and doctors is excellent and Dr. Angiello and Dr. Yoshida are caring and considerate.

Deborah Baskin

We especially appreciate the close attention that Dr. Angielli pays to our dog, Brooklyn, and to us and our concerns. There is nothing formulaic about his approach. He really practices personalized medicine. His approach carries over to all of his staff, who also make us feel welcome and who actually listen when we say something. Great care!

Everyone at Hudson Animal Hospital is awesome! They take the time to explain everything. When I had to put my dog down, they were very compassionate and did everything to make me feel comfortable. I take my cat there, and feel confident they truly care about her health. I would definitely recommend them to others. I did leave them in the past to go somewhere closer and wasn't happy. I came right back and won't leave again. They are AWESOME!!

Josy Rodriguez

I have to say this is the best animal hospital in the city. Probably in all of New York! My dog, Freddy will not go to any vet but Dr. Chris. He loves him. Emily & the rest of the staff are so friendly and gentle. They are the best. I recommend them highly!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Yoshida and the caring team at Hudson Animal Hospital. From routine to emergency care, they are top notch. We have a 14 year old Yorkie and she fell very ill. We immediately took her to Hudson and it turned out she had water/food in her lungs. Dr. Yoshida advised that she need to be hospitalized and recommended 2 options, a nearby animal hospital which she immediately told us the cost would be astronomical or the ASPCA hospital where it would cost significantly less but may take more time. We took her advice and took her to the ASPCA where she was admitted and diagnosed with megaesophagus a lifelong condition that now requires her to eat/drink out of a Bailey Chair, a dog high chair. If it wasn't for Dr. Yoshida's urgent advice to admit her and also advise on cost, our pup may not be with us and we would have spent upwards of $5k-$7k on the hospitalization. Dr. Yoshida cared about hour dog's health and us. We are happy to say our dog is doing great now and we continued all follow-ups with Dr. Yoshida. Her bedside manner is gentle and loving and she always responds to emails at all hours of the night whenever we had inquiries. We recently left NYC and the vet team is greatly missed. Highly recommend them if you are local to the area.

Very friendly doctors, but treat just conventionally without holistic approach

Morgan Leigh Barnes

Very quick and caring, took very good care of my sweet old kitty. They were gentle with her even though she was very unhappy with having to go to the vet. They remembered her from a previous visit about the same condition she had been on for previously. I was very happy to know I could bring her there and I will likely be bringing my other cats there as well!

The Hudson Animal Hospital is the first pace I've taken my cat outside of my hometown vet. I am a worry-wart mom and was nervous as anything. HAS has convenient hours and the lobby had treats for pets and people. The doctor, tech, and receptionist were all incredibly kind and comlpimentary of my pet. She is the most important thing in my life so I appreciated them treating her as such. I would go back in an instant. This is excactly the kind of experience I want when my pet is sick. I am looking forward to establishing a record with HAS and the next visit when my kitty is healthy!

The staff at Hudson Animal Hospital has a lot to learn about customer service and animal treatment. The doctors are very dismissive if you have questions and only try to push you to spend more money, and when you don’t, they act like you’re a bad pet owner. They used cat gloves on my 7lb, 11 year old chihuahua. She was so scared she pooped and hid behind me. When they brought her back out to me, she had a muzzle on (she only has one upper tooth). They put her down on the floor before removing the muzzle and she ripped it off, also tearing off one of her nails. The vet tech just watched. We also have a cat, and when we brought him in, we had to wait over an hour for our SCHEDULED appointment. It was fairly traumatizing to the cat to be in his carrier that long with other animals all around him. All in all, they are not kind to animals and do not have their best interest in mind. They seem to only care about money, so we are taking our furry family members to a vet that actually cares about animals.

Stacy Gorham

I would recommend this hospital to everyone. They are so good with both of my dogs. Dr. Pelletier and staff have always made me feel comfortable during every visit and they are the only ones I would trust with my dogs.

We love everyone at Hudson Animal Hospital! We're never coerced into services or tests we don't need. All of the reception staff, technicians, and vets are always kind and patient!

The staff here are wonderful. When our girl crossed the Rainbow Bridge they all cared enough to say goodbye and there were some tears. We now have another girl and the first thing we did was take her to meet her new friends. Love them all.

Amazing caring staff!

I can't say enough good things about this veterinary practice! The facility is beautiful and immaculate, the support staff is friendly and helpful, and -- most important -- Dr. Yoshida and her partner couldn't be more patient, sensitive to both the pets' and owners' needs, and as pleasant as two people can be. You'll want them to be your friends in addition to your pet's vet! Just one example of the high quality of their service and their character. On the night of my tiny chihuahua's knee surgery, the doctors actually took her home with them after an emergency prevented the night nurse from caring for her at the hospital. You can't ask for more dedicated service than that! Also, they worked with me to keep the cost of the surgery as low as possible and have not imposed any surprise charges for follow up visits associated with the operation. In summary, you'd be hard pressed to find a better veterinary experience for you and your pet!. You'll be glad you found them!

Michelle Elaine

Was in need of a new vet & am the most worriesome dog mom that I think has ever existed! So of course I searched high & low and when I saw all of the positive feedback from other pet owners I thought this might be my place. Well my little fur baby has been very sick, she's also a senior dog with a laundry list of health issues & so I had to bring her in today! I really enjoyed my experience! Everyone from the receptionist to the nurse and of course the doctor were all very friendly, kind, helpful and understanding of my concerns. Definitely bring your pet here! I traveled from queens & it was completely worth it! I've found a furever vet for my little Sprinkles :)

In my family, we've brought our furkids here for almost all of their health care needs for as long as i can remember. The doctors and staff are always wonderful to us and take excellent care of our "kids".

Over priced and it seems as if they suggest expensive procedures that aren't necessary.

Dan Guttman

This is an excellent veterinary facility. The staff are truly the shining light here. From the from desk staff who are always quick to respond to the veterinary technicians who are as gentle and loving with our fur(kids) as we are. But it’s their exceptional doctors who stand out the most. We have been going here for 6 years and take both of our dogs to see the same vet who knows them and whom they trust. Definitely a superb experience and I highly recommend!

Donald Jones

The entire staff is dedicated to outstanding care of our pets. We took our older dog there for years until she died of old age, and continue taking our current dog for the last 10 years and our cat for 2 years. They are always caring, thorough in exams and explanations of what they find with our pets. They always follow up after a visit to check the animal's condition and if anything further is needed. Outstanding veterinary practice.

Katie Riegel

Beautiful office, reasonable prices, and an amazing staff. They are nice and professional people and made my visit with my cat so easy and pleasant. Highly recommended!

Love to support the hometown care, but after several visits and chances, I can finally say this place leaves a lot to be desired for excellent pet care. My first concern was during my dogs first well visits, they offered us some “packages”, as in monthly payment plans for services WE MIGHT get. Not for services rendered or even recommended. No, thank you, but tried to keep an open mind. The waiting room is tiny and they’re usually running late, so there’s almost always at least two or three (or more) animals waiting right next to each other, which to me is unexceptable. One of my dogs has horrible anxiety and this undoes her every time. They also have an entrance and an exit door, which is the bare minimum a good vet should have to minimize dogs crossing paths during stressful times. During the last visit, a dog that was angrily barking and snapping on leash and pulling away from its owner, freaking my two dogs and another two dogs in the waiting room. The pet owner was going in and out either door, indiscriminately, with no help from the staff to subdue the dog and/or protect their other patrons. Maybe this place was great once, the behind office staff are okay. The techs seem nice and vets are okay, nothing too special. They’re often rushed and you don’t feel all that listened to. I also dislike that they take your dog away from you to take blood/give shots, which in my experience better vets don’t do.

Best experience with a Veterinarian I've ever had, hands down! Dr. Kyoko Yoshida was so kind and professional. She took extra time to explain everything to me regarding our 3-year old Chihuahua's health, even helping with some training tips to correct some behaviors. Our pet was very ill and dehydrated when we arrived at the hospital, and I was particularly worried. After a few hours on IV fluids and medications, he practically sprung back to life. Dr. Yoshida and her staff were gentle and loving with our dog, and in return he didn't attempt to bite them like Chihuahuas typically do with new people. I highly recommend this practice to anyone with a furry family member. After one visit, it's safe to say that Dr. Yoshida is now our pet's doctor for life. Thank you for providing such wonderful service, and for helping Hasco stay healthy!

I bring both of my dogs here. Dr. Pelletier is the best!

We(me and my wife) took our new puppy here after we got him for a couple of days. He is our first puppy. So we were very nervous and had lots of questions. We were doing a pre-vaccine checkup after we got him from the breeder. Even when we were calling them up they did make a suggestion that we could just bring him when he was due for his vaccine unless we wanted. I insisted that we wanted to get him there. We are glad we did. We were first met with a technician who explained all the vaccines he is due for and was very helpful and later by the doctor who was equally helpful. Both answered our questions really well. The only reason I am not giving excellent right now is because this is our first visit and do not know how our opinion will change over time. Another reviewer here does say they do not have the latest equipment but I am not experienced and I would not know about that.

Jack Leuchtner

Great staff and they were very fair on prices. Especially with my pet who isn't the best at the vet.

Rose Marquis

Brought my dog Bandit who is older for loss of hair and constant itching they we great with him he is not usually happy with strangers fixed his issue and now he is home and happy. I will go no place else for now on they will take care of all my animals.

Can't give enough praise to this clinic -- Dr. Angiello and his staff are great. Always happy to take my pup here when he needs a visit.

They have been our vet for the last 3+ years and have been amazing. The office and exam rooms are spotless. You can tell that the Vets and support staff really care about what they do and the animals they treat.

I've been going here forever. When the office was taken over I stayed out of convenience and comfort not believing that there would be much of a change. I was terribly wrong. Over the years, I have had several "questionable" moments and kept going back thinking I was being overly sensitive. My first complaint is that they keep pushing product on me. Tried selling me a behavior specialist for an anxious cat instead of prescribing. Then tried up-selling 'care plans'. I left my bank for becoming more a retail outlet than providing services I needed. One thing I can't get past, is they take the animal to the back room for the exam and leave the human in what used to be the exam room. After a tech literally "dragged' my dog out the back door I told them I wanted my animal examined in the exam room. Not out back. Again, I kept going back thinking it was me. However, last visit I only needed an anti-diarrheal. My dog has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and got into a bag of cat food. My appt was at 5:15. I arrived at 5:00 so I expected to wait. When I checked in, the receptionist read his name wrong. I corrected her and she said "Oh, let me fix that". Keep that in mind. However, it was 5:55 before the doctor ever walked into the exam room. When the doctor and the tech walked in, there was no talking, no greeting, no discussion about what was going on. I was just handed a muzzle. I was puzzled. I'd been there a long time. And really didn't know what they planned on doing. She said if you could put that on...I said okay, but he's never been muzzled {I don't even know how to put it on} She said we keep proper notes and there are notes all over his account that he is muzzled every time. I said, no he has NEVER been muzzled. To which her tech said "I am sorry that you don't remember, but we always muzzle him". Well the last time he was there for bowel issues, they took his temp with his face between my shins and me holding his haunches. They never muzzled him. Neither has [chain store] for grooming. Neither has the emergency vets, AVC in Manchester that he sees often for his EPI {he was also adopted through there}. I was absolutely offended at their accusation that "I don't remember" my dog's visits. I would have gladly muzzled him if this doctor was scared for whatever reason {sidenote, my dog is not one of the more aggressive breeds - he is a mutt rescue possibly beagle/rhodesian/lab ridgeback mix} Had she talked first after leaving us there for an hour, maybe presented what she planned on doing and why she would like to muzzle him "this time" I would have been more receptive. However, instead I was insulted and my dog never received the care he needed. I could go on about the lack of knowledge they had for the EPI diagnosis 3 years ago - but that I didn't hold against them. Not a lot of people knew and it was a learning curve for me as well. But if I had listened to them, I would not have been able to afford the medical treatment my dog needed and he probably wouldn't be here today. There are many people at this office. Some are definitely better than others. But the treatment I received today was reprehensible and I can't give them any more "passes" and I can not recommend them. It is sad because it was once the best around.

Our friends at Hudson Animal Hospital are amongst the most compassionate people we have come across. We recently lost our 12 year old Golden (Dakota), which as any animal lover knows is devastating to a family. Dr. Nicole Goldstein was truly professional and did everything she could possibly do to extend her life. The staff were sympathetic and tried to make the process as easy as possible. We would settle for nothing less than top-of-the-line care for our four legged family members. They will always be our hospital of choice!

When it comes to your pet, you want the best. Took my cat for a full check up here. My ragdoll, Snowie, is no ragdoll when it comes to extracting blood and urine samples. My sweet boy usually turns into the demonic child from the Exorcist. I mean, if you had a needle going down your "pee-pee" against your will, wouldn't you? With that being said, this time was different. My vet made sure I gave Snowie the little magic pill, Xanax, 2 hours before the scheduled exam. Once at the hospital, the doctor was able to check everything so fast and easy... "wham bam thank you ma'am"! It was the fastest, most pleasant experience I've ever had at the vet. I walked back home on UWS, with Snowie in his bag, and even stopped in a store for a minute. He was high and happy for the rest of the day and the only inconvenience he suffered was that his face fell into his food bowl numerous times and I had to clean it. I've known Dr. Yoshida for a long time, from the days she worked in TriBeCa. She is extremely capable, compassionate and very calm under pressure. Her skills continue to evolve as she's always up to date with the latest in animal medicine. The hospital is very clean and beautiful with a Zen feeling. if you live in the vicinity, or you simply want the best care for your pets, take them there. You will be, no doubt, in the best hands.

I have had pets all my life and have seen various vets. Hudson is without a doubt the best, Dr. Angiello and his staff are so considerate, so caring and so unlike the animal clinics where one waits in a room with several pets. I thought my kitty was on death's door. Took her to Hudson based upon more favorable reviews than the other vet close to me. I was blown away by the difference here. We were seen on time at the scheduled appointment and were made to feel so comfortable. I was put at ease by the way both my kitty and I were treated. Dr. Angiello diagnosed her quickly and had a special blood analysis done. With medication, after one month, she was significantly improved and even gained a pound. Bottom line - your pet will get no better care or consideration than at Hudson Animal Hospital. My mind is at ease and my kitty will be with me for some time longer. Update March 21, 2018. I brought my cat Honey to Hudson in Sept 2016 because I thought she was dying. Please see review above. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and I was met with a courteous, kind and caring staff. Dr Angiello diagnosed Honey with hyperthyroidism and the beginnings of renal failure and discussed a few alternatives. I chose to care for her totally at home. She soon started gaining weight - she was only 5 lbs when I brought her in- and soon she was at a healthy weight. Yesterday I had to bring her in since she was telling me she was ready to leave me. Dr. Yoshida agreed and gently performed the deed. While my heart is breaking I will always be grateful that the good Doctors gave me an extra year and a half of quality time with Honey that I may otherwise never would have had. They , the nurses and the staff always made Honey and I feel special. I will be forever in their debt, and they will be forever in my prayers,

I love Hudson Animal Hospital. They are great with my little guy and they seem to truly care about him. He recently had a dental procedure and they took great care of him and made me feel good leaving him there (although I was a nervous wreck!)

I took my 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback to see Dr. Yoshida after having gone to the Oradell hospital in New Jersey. My dog, Zen, had thrown up his entire meal and X-rays were showing that his stomach was full of what appeared to be food. We suspected he might have eaten a sock (as he had done in the past), but he had always passed the socks he had eaten before. After his initial X-ray, Oradell recommended more diagnostic tests such as an ultrasound , blood work, more X-rays and said he would most likely need surgery. In addition to the excessive diagnostic tests, they kept us waiting 30 min while they wrote up 2 cost estimates! When our vet returned she never even apologized for making us wait for such a long period of time. I decided to take Zen home and was hoping that he might pass whatever was in his stomach. However, when that didn't happen, I took him to Dr. Yoshida & she was incredible. Her clinic closes at 4pm on Sat, but she stayed with us until 5pm to explain everything and go over all our options! I could tell immediately that Dr. Yoshida truly loves animals and isn't just in business to make money. She recommended that Zen should be admitted to a nearby pet hospital so that he could get re-hydrated for an entire night. Her thinking was that this might help stimulate his bowel movement which might help pass whatever was in his stomach. Dr. Yoshida was correct and after staying in the hosptial Zen began to have bowel movements again. We took him home and that night we gave him a small amount of dry kibble, but he threw it up later. I began to panic and feared that I might actually have to have surgery which was something I really wanted to avoid. I called Dr. Yoshida the next morning and after explaining everything she recommended that I give him 40 mg of Pepcid and then feed him a bland diet of rice/chicken and water. 20 minutes later he threw up 2 of my athletic socks! If Cesar Milan is the Dog Whisperer, Dr. Yoshida is the veterinarian whisperer. She has clients for life. Thank you so much Dr. Yoshida.

This has to be hands down the best animal hospital in NYC. I don't trust many people with my dog and Hudson Animal Hospital exceeded my expectations. We usually see Dr. Angiello but due to an emergency we had to see Dr. Yoshida and both doctors are hands down amazing. My dog who is usually very nervous in unfamiliar places is very comfortable coming here. The staff are all so sweet. So knowledgeable. They helped my little guy feel better in no time. To me, it is very affordable to be able to take my dog here for annual check-ups and vaccines. They are very easy-going with my dog. I love it here! It's extremely clean. Zero wait time.

I have been taking my dog Juca here since he was a puppy. Dr. Yoshida and Angiello are amazing, they are so nice, caring, and knowledgeable. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and helpful. This is clearly an office that truly cares about the pets.

I've been through several vets with my nearly 17 year old cat over the years, and I am so glad to have found Dr. Yoshida. She was caring, insightful, and very thorough. The staff was very friendly and professional. The facilities were very clean, spotless. I feel that I've found the right vet for the remainder of my cat's time here.

I have been going here for over a year and have had great experiences. Dr Yoshida & Dr Angiello are knowledgeable and take the time to make sure the appointments are thorough and all of my questions are answered. Recommended!

I moved to Brooklyn but still make the trip here with my dog. We have lived all over the country and this is the best vet I've ever been to.
