Do not let the name fool you. This place is just a clinic, not a hospital. My boyfriend and I recently tried to go here because one of our cats was actively bleeding heavily from his backside, and we were furious with the way we were treated. When we came in and explained what was going on, we were asked if we scheduled an appointment. Of course we hadn't -- who schedules an appointment for a potential emergency? You don't. You grab your pet and book it to the nearest "hospital". After we confirmed we didn't have one, we waited a full five minutes for the woman working with us to see if they had time for us, while she appeared to dally about in the backroom with her coworkers, only to be told it would be a couple hours because they already had appointments for other "emergencies" booked up.
Perhaps those appointments were actual emergencies, I can't say. I certainly can't wish ill on another animal that may have a threatening issue. What I can say is that I don't believe anyone who has the time to wait for an appointment has an actual life or death emergency for their pet. It is absolutely appalling that two clearly distressed pet owners with an animal that was ACTIVELY BLEEDING FROM ITS REAR would be told they would have to schedule an appointment for later.
If you care about your pet, forget about this place and make the drive to the AVC in Manchester. They are 24 hours, with professional staff that are always willing to take emergency walk ins, and will never turn you or your pet away. They are worth the drive.
This place should not advertise itself as a hospital if it isn't one. I would give it zero stars if the rating system would allow it. Only time we've ever tried to go, and we will never again make the mistake of wasting time on our way to AVC to see if this place can help us sooner, because they won't.
