Booked an appt with them to groom my Dad's dog after he passed away, as this is where he always took him. Was told he had to have his distemper shot, so we got it from our local vet. Drove 30 minutes to bring him in, and they inform my husband that they haven't seen him in 3 years. I KNOW this is not true, my Dad had taken him there 2 months ago. They then said they would need to do his blood work AND he would have to be sedated for grooming. Just in it for the $$ in my opinion. We'll find someone local to do it.

Brought my snowshoe kitten here for 3/mo checkup and the entire time I felt like I was at a sales meeting. All they seem to care about is upselling vaccinations that are unnecessary and then make you feel bad when you say no. I took my kitten to a new vet to be fixed (in parking lot as I write this) and after gathering the medical pamphlet we noticed they never filled out the vaccinations they gave him. Now we have no clue what my cat has had. The annoying part is I specifically asked them to do it and they didn’t.

Very disappointed that the practice was sold without notifying clients. Now i am receiving regular notifications for "overdue" vaccines that jave already been given.

Simply put, Mr. Handel is a thief in sheeps clothing. He acts like he’s the most caring veterinarian out there, all the time piling up the bills. My poor cat was not feeling well. After selling me a maintenance plan he proceeds to have test after test taken. My cat stays over night. More tests and more we’ll get her well. Well no, he did not get her well. She was getting much worse as the hours went by. I knew that I was going to have to give the word to put her to sleep because of her quickly declining health. A very sad day for me. At that time, when I called him to tell him no more, the bill was up over $2,000.00. The next morning my daughter came to my house and said that she would go Handle “With Care” and pay the bill. I was too distraught to go any where near where my cat lost her precious life. I gave her a blank check feeling sick to my stomach at the charges he had rung up. When my daughter returned she gave me the receipt for services rendered. Overnight the bill had gone up by $1,000.00! Over $3,000.00 for what was a bad experience for me and my cat Molly. He did however, send me a bereavement card and a little lock of her fur.

Friendly staff. Always excited to see my pup. It definitely makes a difference when people actually care about their job. Haven't met a single person there that showed me otherwise. The doc is great, friendly and always enthusiastic. As stated prices are high but they offer monthly plans similar to insurance. You definitely get what you pay for however. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I are new to the area and are very particular about where we take our cat. The staff made us feel comfortable immediately. Our cat really doesn't do well with vets but both Tabitha and Dr. Devito had a plan to make sure the visit would be as easy as possible for her to get through and even helped us get mats out of her hair that we had been stressed about. My only regret is not taking her in sooner!

After going to a corporate veterinarian to try to limit our cost and not getting our dog's needs met, we decided to return to Handel with Care. Although it is expensive, we were very pleased with the level of care and compassion and the very thorough job they did of making sure we were aware of all of the veterinarian's recommendations for tests and procedures. They took the time to ensure that we understood and agreed to each and every item on an itemized list of all the possible costs. They were great and our dog is doing so much better now. They seemed to genuinely care about our dog's and family's needs.

Dr Handel and the entire staff are so wonderful! We enjoy going in and see them. We got a new puppy a few months ago and they answered all our questions and have us great advice on handling and caring for our new baby. The prices are very reasonable and they have a monthly plan to cover the first year for puppies.

Dr Handel is so great with animals, you can tell he truly loves them. The staff is great and very knowledgeable. We have been bringing our Huskey here for years and love it. However prices are a tad bit on the high side, but I think you get what you pay for and have someone you can really trust.

Used to love this place. However, it has changed hands and now our visits are full of useless upselling and very little care. Do not like seeing our family dog treated as a payday. Will be going elsewhere from now on.

Great Bird Doctor! Doctor Handel is probably the only vet in the immediate area who really understands birds. He not only has a terrific command of their physiology, but he really likes them too!

If anyone is looking for an Amazing veterinarian, please check out Dr. Handel and all of his wonderful, caring associates that make up Handel With Care Veterinary Hospital in Derry NH. I can not say enough good things about them. Their thorough from start to finish, up front with you regarding costs before doing anything and they will work with you to distinguish what's imperative as far as procedures go as to keep the costs affordable at the time. They have treated our baby Brandy so well, calling to see how she's doing, returning what seems like weekly calls because our Shepherd has been sick, they are just the best and we wanted everyone to know if their beloved pets get ill or if your vet isn't top notch, it's time to call Dr. Handel!! Last but certainly not least, they all are honest good people with empathy and hearts.Go check them out you won't regret it!

We became a cat owner purely by chance--an adorable female feline began showing up at our doorstep. Of course, we fed her and you can guess the rest of the story. We brought her to "Handel with Care" for a physical assessment and immunizations. Dr. Handel was terrific--he immediately put our terrified cat (and nervous owner) at ease--and took time to answer all of questions. When our cat was sprayed by a skunk, (after hours) he returned my call promptly and advised us what to do. Our subsequent visits are pleasant; the staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I love this place! Staff is all very welcoming and very helpful. I brought my two rats in and they were wonderful with them. They even called and checked up on my rats to make sure they were doing okay. My second appointment I called the day of to add my second rat to the appointment if it was possible. They worked with me and found a time that worked better for them to see both of my rats in the same day. Overall a great experience!

I have to edit my initial review to say that now that the practice was sold to someone else the quality of care has has taken a nose dive. The girls at the front desk and most of the techs are gone. You walk in the three at the front desk barely look at you or say "Hi" and are definitely more concerned with your payment than your pet. My cat had blood work done and i had to call multiple times to get the results after i missed a call from them because i was at work. Each time i called the first thing they wanted to tell me was how many times i had called, sorry to bother you guys but i want to know what is going on with my cat. I loved Dr Handel and Dr Belanger but it's not their vet anymore and I'm moving my cats to a new vet and I would encourage others to do so, Handel with Care does not care about your pet anymore.

I absolutely love Handel With Care. They are so kind and helpful. I recently brought my two kittens to them and they answered all of my questions and I felt more than welcome there. Dr. Greene and all of the staff I met were awesome. I have also called a few times with concerns about my kittens and they have helped me each time. I recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone. I also was able to sign up for a monthly wellness plan that helps to make it more affordable! They are amazing!

My cat had become extremely ill and Handle With Care had the unfortunate task of putting my baby down. The staff and vet were all extremely professional, courteous and caring. Everything was explained before it was done it detail. Due to the situation as soon as I was checked in, I was allowed to wait for the staff and the vet in the room in which the procedure would occur, to help ensure my cat would not undergo unnecessary stress from other animals. I was allowed as much time as I needed at the end and was allowed to leave through a separate exit not at the front.

Dr. Handel is wonderful and everyone that works here is super knowledgeable and kind. But the wait between checking in and actually seeing someone can take up to 20 minutes, even with an appointment and getting there on time.

Quick check in, clean facility, and caring staff! Dr. Handel was so patient and really listened. He answered all of our questions in detail and offered a lot of tips! Plus it was nice not to feel pressured to buy tests we didn't actually need :) And we loved the follow up call a few days later! Our sick pooch looks and feels better already!

My pets have been patients here since the early 90's when Dr. Handel first started in the basement of the current building. Dr. Handel has seen my dog, cats and even a bird. The staff are great and Dr. Handel has always been very personable with me. All of my pets received great care, even my siamese Loki who used to bite Dr. Handel in his later years when he became an old, cranky cat! Haha. I would recommend Dr. Handel to any pet owner.

Handel with Care has some of the most amazing staff I've ever encountered. My dog aggressive dog came back after a nights stay with them and her negative behaviors around dogs were significantly less predominant. They have been helping us through a very hard time with our 2.5 year old dog who needs major surgery. They partner with the best surgeon in the state, so not only are their staff amazing, I know that her surgery is in the best hands as well. We live in Franklin, but if we lived closer they would be our primary vet for our cat and dog.
