Veterinarians Steven Bassett, Lauren Hill and Ann Lindsey were my dogs' vets from 1991-2013, when I regretfully had to leave their practice due to moving out of state . They lovingly cared for all of my dogs through the years, giving me tactful advise and nonjudgemental support whenever I needed it. They are warm, caring and genuinely kind people who truly love pets. I can't recommend them highly enough.

This is the best vet practice in the seacoast area! I came here after another local vet did not properly diagnose my cat's issue. The 3 vets at this practice are the most caring and compassionate vets I know. I drive over 30 mnutes to get there - passing at least 3 other vet offices and would not have it any other way.

I called Exeter Veterinary Hospital yesterday morning to see about getting my dog in who developed an ear infection the prior evening. I just moved to the area and haven't had time to find a vet yet but emergencies come up so I called. They told me that if I was a regular they could get me in that day but because we are not a regular patient they couldn't get my dog in for over a week! I asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime, just let my poor dog sit with an ear infection? She didn't seem to care even when I told the receptionist that I was new to the area which is why I didn't have a primary vet yet. I figured if they were fine with letting my dog sit with an ear infection for over a week I certainly didn't want them treating my dog for anything else. What a terrible vet hospital. (BTW- was able to get in yesterday and my dog is on the mend!).

I have been going to Exeter Veterinary Hospital for my pets since I was a child...back when they made house calls for all our animals. I trust them completely with our pets and know they will tell me truthfully what is needed for treatment and they care for our pets like they are their own. I love all the veterinarians and vet techs in the practice. They truly care about animals and share in our grief when we had to say goodbye to a few of our fur babies over the years.

Exeter vet is so friendly and our dog loves coming here (which makes it easier for us!). We like the vets and vet techs too. They're so helpful, even over the phone and are honest about our pet's condition, giving the best advice they can and honestly letting you know if they need to see the animal or not. Would highly recommend!

I’m am very disappointed in Exeter vet. both my boyfriend and I have left this practice. The front desk is total chaos and disorganized. We were devastated to have to put one of our dogs down and knew there was no way we could have it done at this vet after a pattern of horrible experiences. After calling the vet in attempt to fill a prescription for our pet we had to call 6 times in one day and spoke to different staff each time. We finally got prescription fill at 8pm at night and had to drive 30’mins away to fill it. On several occasions I was put on hold only for someone else to pick up and start talking about another pet or different diagnosis. I was genuinely concerns for my pets well being. Another occasion when trying to make an appointment I was abruptly passed off to another technician and the woman said it was so the other girl could talk to her sons father?!? Hire professional office staff or a dedicated receptionist Exeter vet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Bassett has been the vet for my two poodles for 10 years, and we LOVE him. He carefully considers all symptoms, and has effectively cared for them both. He also puts the poodles' moms at ease with his wonderful perspective. I highly recommend Dr. Bassett and his exceptional practice; the staff is FANTASTIC. Thanks for the great care - we've been so lucky!

When my rat terrier had “weeks” to live due to heart issues, the doctors recognized that this little girl was up to a fight, and with many meds, and procedures, we were able to get a couple more years of quality life. They new if I called, it was an emergency and always gave her the best care I could ask for. It’s been years now, and I miss my little Jill everyday, but I know as a team, they have me and my animals best interest in mind. I never thanked them properly cause my heart is still heavy, but I so appreciate their services!

We started looking for a new vet about five years ago when our former vets affiliated with VCA and their prices got outrageous. A couple of friends strongly recommended Exeter and we have been very pleased with the choice. We have had positive experiences with all three vets on staff, most of all with Dr. Hill who cared for our beloved golden retriever when he was diagnosed with leukemia and eventually had to be euthanized. It was a painful process to go through but everyone there was incredibly compassionate and understanding.

Amazing, caring, compassionate! I can't begin to tell you about this wonderful practice of caring and compassionate Doctors and staff. We have been with Exeter Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years with 4 cats and two dogs. We've been through it all with them and couldn't be happier with the entire team. There have been times when Doctors Hill, Bassett, and MacClinchy have called after hours to report or discuss results of tests and even on the busiest days, they make you feel that your pet is priority. The office staff is friendly and efficient and the employee retention says a lot about the providers. Today, I had the daunting task of accompanying my 90 year old mother to EVH to put down her 15 year old cat. Dr. Bassett was so kind and patient with my mom and helped her to make the final decision to let her baby go in peace. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top notch, compassionate care!
