Dover Veterinary Hospital is the best Vet we have ever been to. Very friendly, understanding, non-judgmental, and caring. The office is clean and child friendly, the exam room is clean and has a second door for vet to enter/exit so your animal doesn't see other animals in office. There are no odd/chemical odors. My (normally) anxious, 16 yr old cat must have felt safe as she was very curious, walking around, climbing on the counter and talking to the vet. Cat approved.

Amazing experience, took my dog here because I was worried about a pretty big cut he had on his paw. They got me in right away and took care of all of my concerns so I left knowing he was okay. He’s a rescue so when I first adopted him he was very sick so I get paranoid anytime he sneezes. The vet was very personable and so was the rest of the staff. They even texted me a week after to check in on how he was doing, charge free. Great place, they really care about the animals that come in.

We have used Dover Vet for 40 years. Somehow the doctors and staff have remained helpful and caring all that time.

I could not be more thrilled with Dover Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Spyridakis. We have a 5 year old pup that was diagnosed with liver disease when he was about 2 years old. He's had fairly frequent relapses for the last couple of years and prior vets were consistently treating his symptoms as just back pain even though we had relayed other symptoms that seemed to suggest something else might be going on. We bought a house and needed a vet closer to our new home which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we found Dr. Spyridakis. For the past several years we have had to change vets several times because of frequent moves and we have never met a vet that is as thorough and cares as much about getting our pup healthy as Dr. Spyridakis. She really does go above and beyond and it's such a great feeling to finally have someone we can trust oversee our dog's health and wellbeing. Thank you Dr. Spyridakis and Dover Veterinary Hospital for all that you do!!!

This place is a 10/10. They will communicate in the method you prefer (text, email, mail, or call). Whenever we have come in for an issue, they always check in on my cat a few days later to ensure he is feeling better. I have never been to a vet that makes me (and my cat) feel so welcome and comfortable.

Everyone is very nice and service was good, however I was turned away when they tried to tell me I was going to have to pay $60 for a "recheck" when my dog is perfectly healthy and seen 3 weeks ago and all he needed was a second part to a shot. I would have loved to continue to bring my pets there, but I felt like I was being ripped off.

All of the care received here has been excellent. They are great in every area except one - sensitivity to cost. Every time I've asked them to explain the cost of a procedure I've been met with impatience and rudeness. They act as if it's a huge inconvenience for them to go over a price. They don't seem to realize that $500 is a lot of money to hand over without explanation. They need to understand that we customers deserve to know what we're paying for. They would have received an "excellent" rating if they weren't so rude.

We found these kind people when we had to put our dog down - her normal vet is far away and we didn't want to put her through the drive. So, when we arrived, they showed us to a private room with easy chairs. Without delay, someone came in and told us what to expect. They talked with us through each step, but gave us plenty of time with our pup. We took care of payment prior to the euthanasia. There was even a door for us to leave through, so that we wouldn't have to walk through the lobby crying. After it was all over, they made us little pawprints for a remembrance and wrapped her up with a blanket. It had tape on it with her name and little hearts written around it. Then, a week later, we got a personal sympathy card from them. Their communication and empathy were above and beyond what is expected.

I use to bring my cats for acupuncture for a bad back until one day i was told i couldn't bring her again until she was up to date on her rabies shot. Now this was a 16 year old cat in very poor health, but their only concern was not for the cat but the rabies shot. I had been to several Dr after going to Dover even Tufts University, none said anything about her being over due for her shot. She had had her shots all her life up to date. Even the other vets told me you don't vaccinate a cat in her condition. I think their concern was for the money, not the animal. My cat has passed away now. come to find out she had cancer. No i would not recommend this veterinary place.

Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff. Clean, well cared for facility. Everyone we’ve met so far has been very gentle with my dog. Non-routine “fun” visits for weight checks, flea/tick/heart worm refills is an added perk to help socialize my pup. Highly recommended (4/4 paws).

Our cat was hit by a car. He was pretty damaged. With the help of all the amazing staff at Dover Veterinary Hospital, we were able to nurse him back to health. ❤❤❤

The staff are always friendly and respectful of my shy dogs needs. The office is very thorough and they were able to diagnose and treat a condition a previous vet missed. The office calls as soon as test results come in and Dr.Spyridakis will take the time to explain what results mean and provides options for how to proceed. I have been surprised several times at how quickly results come back and how much time Dr.Spyridakis will spend explaining things over the phone. I know we can visit a vet that costs a little less, but the care and service we get is certainly worth it.

Happy Swheatie

I wish that I had found this place earlier for my Happy who passed away on 3/2/2015 (3 days shy of his 14th birthday). When I brought Happy to see Dr Spyridakis, he was already diagnosed with two large tumors (blood cancer) and bilateral laryngeal paralysis. Dr S also had been in touch with me to obtain more records and any upcoming medical information that I would be getting prior to our first visit with her. After our visit..and only office visit, she kept in touch (via email and phone) even when she wasn't in the office (also on the weekend) and would ask about Happy's progress and offer suggestions and provide realistic facts...she guided with gentle hands. On the very last day and hours of Happy's life, Dr S returned my call to talk about how I wanted to handle Happy's sleep. Dr S offered to make a call to the office and prep her team on what I had wanted, so that I would not have to worry about the ending. During Happy's last visit, the hospital gave him oxygen (to ease his breathing) and sedation...both to relieve any stress that might result from the sleep...they wanted him to be comfortable for the end. No words could put how I felt when I held my Happy and for him to take his last breath....and become deathly still. I stayed well over three hours to be with my Happy...not once did I feel any pushing from them to leave the premise. I am so very pleased that Happy ended up with an extremely caring primary vet...even if it was for a very short time. Dr Spyridakis and her team are absolutely priceless.

Sometimes pip (makes female dog) and I have a good experience and sometimes we do not That last time we went for her eyes and the vet made them worse because tearing at the ducts in her attempts to clear them. I wasn’t present but she mentioned my dog was strong willed? She had to use a muzzle and pip was terrified and hurting upon their return Again I wasn’t present but she was obviously shaken and I was upset as her eyes Were worse and I sensed the vet had ‘gone to war’ with my dog in a sense and made her eyes worse Just saying All other experiences have been ok
