I have not been to a vet here yet but my 13 year old cat has been to vets all over the US. He was very sick and on his way out so I called around to find a place to have him put down witch destroyed me and my family. I called every vet in Springfield, the vet hospital in town were rude and wanted $195. Which money was not the issue but they did not seem compassionate at all. So I called the one in Westminster and they were not do anything because he had not been there before And they were not taking new patients so they could not put him down. So I called Claremont explain the situation to the lady. The lady who answered my call was extremely sympathetic And helpful she gave me a quote of $145. When I got there I was very impressed to see a sign in the front asking people to keep it down because other people might be there morning their pets. They got us into a room extremely fast they checked his weight and let me know that the bill was only going to be $114. Asked if I wanted to pay now or after. Then the doctor came in with her assistant. Sarah Mills I believe was the veterinarian they were both extremely sympathetic very kind And allowed us to stay by his side the whole time I did have him sedated before the actual utilization that’s why the cost was a little high. It was going to be $80 for just the utilization. They let us stay in the room for as long as we needed with him. I have nothing but great things to say about this place I would recommend anybody taking their pets to them. Thank you all At Claremont animal Hospital.

Wicked good people, they take care of our 4 dogs and 2 cats, have gone in for emergency many times with our dogs. Wouldn't look anywhere else for a vet. They are excellent people with big hearts.

They were wonderful my dog got attacked by another dog and they made as affordable as possible when I couldnt afford 600 out of pocket to take her home. They donated the medicine even though they wouldnt let me make a payment plan. Maggie is in pain but I am glad she is okay

Christine Yager-Bosse

Massively overpriced. By massively, I mean, they charged me more than double what Wendalls would have charged me for the same procedure. I was even charged for the pen they used to mark my dog for surgery. Only went here because Wendalls was closed and my dog needed an emergency c-section. I felt like I was taken advantage of because it was a dire situation and they saw an opportunity to price gouge me. When I picked my dog and her puppy up (a puppy that had been born at my home but they insisted it come along), my dog, still half drugged, had jumped down from where they had her in the back to run to the desk. When they brought me the puppy, he was cold and lethargic because he obviously had not been place on a warming pad as promised. I was up all night with them making sure he didnt pass away. This isnt my first rodeo, I had a dog get a c-section over a year ago at Wendalls and the puppies were all active and warm when I picked them up. They took advantage of me financially because they knew my dogs life was in danger and I had no other option. Then they didn't even take proper care of my dog and her puppy.

My Significant Other and myself highly recommend Dr. Fisher and his Vet Tech. team! Our 2.5 year old German Shepherd needed ACL tear surgery Fall '13. A breeder friend has ALWAYS spoken HIGHLY of Dr. Fisher and his Vet Techs. When I scheduled the consultation I spoke with Vet Tech./receptionist Jenn, she was patient, professional, and compassionate. On the evening of our appoint. we were professionally greeted by one of the Vet Tech.'s Collin. Our experience with Dr. Fisher has been OUTSTANDING! He put our dog (and us) at easy immediately. He gave both my boyfriend and I four different options to consider, one of which was the surgery. We opted for the surgery (the totaI amount was $1500.00 less then what we were quoted by two other local Vets). It has been over three months and our dog has been recovering nicely. Once again, we HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fisher at Claremont Animal Hospital!

Honestly if it wasn't for my cats health I wouldn't bring her to this vet. It's the only one I've found around here. 1st visit I came in because she was having seizures and the veterinarian said after squeezing my cat and making her uncomfortable that it was a UTI because she happened to lose her pee. After coming back home and settling down my cat started having another seizure and it was bad. I called them immediately and told them she needs to be checked out for seizures, $260+ for blood work only. I couldn't even afford that , Cathy sulivan had to. So they put her on phenobarbital and she just had blood work done which I was told $89 for. They charged near$60 for a doctors visit on top of the blood work (without telling me) when the only thing she needed done was the blood work. Okay and the big vet doctor has the nerve to tell me my cat is overweight after being told by that same doctor the medicine may make her gain weight. She made me feel like I was hurting my cat even though I feed her twice a day, 1/2 cup at a time. Got told it's another $90 to check the phenobarbital levels in the kidneys and liver which is what I was told they were doing. Another butt load of money because the vet thinks something is wrong and that's why she's fat but she's completely fine. Either way go somewhere else. They just care about your money and not anything else. Can't wait to move to change vets :| I'm in it for life with my cat and I'll be damned if I ever bring her back to this place. Money hounds...

My poor dog has porcupine quills in his face and needs them removed so we called the vet in town. We were told no unless we have $250. We couldn't pay until the first when my husbands military check came in. I would have given them collateral to prove that we would pay them, so I guess our pet will have to suffer as we try to remove them ourselves.

Karen Strout

Very friendly and they know what their doing went in for my rat to have a tumor removed only 150 including the medicine and she did great there and recovered well

I see so many reviewers complaining about the cost CAH charges them. How can anyone put a price on keeping your fur-babies healthy and alive??? I had brought my 13 yr. old cat to the Springfield veterinarian for an emergency procedure as that's where we live, upon arriving there I was told that I must not love my animals very much as she hadn't been spayed (for reasons I won't go into). As it was I was a wreck about she issue that had brought us there. Anyhow I needed her helped immediately so left her there whereupon they did the surgery as well as spaying her (a risk for her). When I brought her home as we were cuddling I spotted not 1 but several FLEAS on her (she NEVER had 1 in all her years. So to all you people complaining about cost I paid $800 for fleas and a lecture. Several months later she developed issues and I found CAH. Thankfully their staff were amazing. They did as much as was possible, took her in at times without an appointment among many other situations that they didn't have to do. Eventually she had to go to her final sleep and I have NEVER been treated so kindly by a veterinarian staff as I was by CAH. In closing if you have a certain dollar amount that you aren't willing to go above , perhaps you should not have fur babies at all. I won't bring my babies to ANY place but CAH

Great place!! We brought our 2 labs and cat! They were efficient and thorough and we even received a 15% off discount!

I appreciate the vets here. They have always done a fantastic job. I can't say the same for their assistants and front staff. One lady with an obviously offensive slavery promoting Confederate battle flag on her arm is anything but good customer service.

They were awesome! Our bunny needed surgery, and I was incredibly nervous about choosing a new vet. Claremont is now our top choice. They were very patient with my concerns and took perfect care of her, even called the next morning (Saturday!) to see how she was doing. Even the price was great, $150 and well worth the treatment she received. Any reviewer who complains about the cost of veterinary services will never be happy, no matter where they go. If you can't afford proper care, find a proper home for your pet.

Absolutely horrible and abusive. Rather than being compassionate and caring they're willing to use barbaric means of restraining a dog for a simple rabies shot. Long story short they took my dog into another room, brought him into a kennel and pulled his leash thru the corner, pulled him all the way into the corner and pushed the door against him to restrain him while they gave him a shot. Are you kidding me? When they brought him back into me his face was dripping blood as was his paw due to a torn nail bed. I have gone to another vet who has been able to do everything including blood without issue. Hoping to get the word out so no one else's pets have traumatic experiences or have to suffer

We've been going to the Claremont Animal Hospital for 40+ years. Dr. Fisher is thee best veterinarian I've ever met. I trust his knowledge, intuition, and skills immensely. His understanding, connection, and rapport with animals is special. The staff is incredible too. They treat every patient as if they were their own pet. How can you ask for more?

Janice Heighes

I was given a quote of over $1,000 to remove a small tumor inside my dogs ear. Just beyond my budget. I took my dog to a new vet, very experienced one, a bit further away and got it done for $356 including a biopsy. A few week later I brought a second dog and they missed his hip was partially out.... Brought him to the other vet a few days later when he got worse and they picked it up right away. Visit there was half the cost. We've had two more bad experiences in the past I won't relate here, but we're done with this veterinary clinic.

The only reason I ever did business with them is because of Dr. Fisher. Now, she is gone and they are nothing without her. They constantly try to sell you things you don't need and make you feel like an irresponsible pet owner if you don't go along with their ideas. Customer service is horrible and I have no faith in the doctors. They said over 300 to neuter a kitten. Someplace else (a nice place) and it's around 100. Big difference--isn't it. This is what I mean.

EWillDo Thanks

I had two hamsters who were patients here and the staff is kind, knowledgeable, professional, friendly, compassionate and understanding. I have a cat now, and have no hesitation using this clinic for her.

This Clinic has some of the worst and I mean absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my Life! My wife and I have brought our animals down for the past 3 months spending up wards of $2000 on every thing from shots, vaccines, neutering, Board-a-tella and who knows what else. This Morning we brought our dog in to be checked out I was Told by a Dr that it would be $250 to have him checked out. As I was getting ready to leave him with the Vets, they hit me with a $631 bill as I was walking out the door. Well that's a long shot from $250. I have to say if your so called Dr's don't know what the cost is of there practice then they should probably not start with the practice until they have knowledge of what the cost of the practice is. There is no reason to lie to earn business that's actually a Great way To Lose Business! Which You have! To top it off I left with a $400 bill for my dog and no real answers to why he is sick then when we had to take him to a REAL VET / Dr. because he is still ill. My wife ask for a copy of his Xrays that we paid for and they wanted to charge $20 for the X-rays I am Pretty sure I had already paid for in my $400 bill earlier that morning! Poor no Better Yet Awful Customer Service! By far the worst I have ever Experienced in my Life! I would and wil recomend to any and every one to never do Business with this Clinic ever again!

I have been going there for over five years. My major complaint is the high cost. For Claremont area...I do not know how people can afford to go there. Also, I learned through experience to insist on certain vets. Either the gentleman (vet) or Dr. Mills. Both are excellent. Another female vet that used to be there was very good, also. (Dr. Fisher???) I do not believe anyone has had a bad experience with them. I have not had a good experience with some of the young vets. I found them incompetent and they tried to sell me things I did not need.

Claremont Animal Hospital always goes above and beyond the welfare of the animal. We’ve been with Claremont Animal Hospital for almost 6 years and have been thrilled with our many experiences. We drive an hour & 45 minutes each way to see Dr Fisher and highly recommend him and the staff. As breeders, we’ve had plenty of emergencies over the years and have needed them at all hours and on Holidays. They’ve never fallen short of our expectations; in fact, they’ve gone above and beyond! They are very thorough, informed and easy to talk to. I have, on many occasions called back for clarification, advice and/or hand holding as we navigated some tough situations. We have and do HIGHLY recommend Claremont Animal Hospital! Peggi & David Brogan Boonefield Labradors

Back in the beginning of 2012, I bought a feeder rat to bring into our family as one of our own. That night, I noticed she wasn't right... sneezing, a little lethargic, etc. I ended up bringing her into Claremont Animal Hospital a few months later in a panic because she was having much difficulty breathing. By the time we got there, she felt better and the Dr. prescribed an antibiotic. My initial interaction with CAH was fantastic. They were very compassionate, understanding and quick to get me in and pay full attention to my rat and me. This last Saturday, my rat and I paid one last visit to CAH together. It has been about a year now with her health steadily declining and it was clear that there was no quality of life left for her. They were extremely sympathetic and allowed me to be by her side when they performed the euthanasiation. When all was said and done, they told me to just go and take care of the bill later when they had her ashes ready. It was only a few days later that I was able to go in, pay the extremely reasonable bill, and bring my little friend back home. In conclusion, I would highly recommend CAH to anyone and everyone. Thank you CAH for helping my rat's life be the best it could, as well as be there for her in the end. I will be using you for all of my veterinary needs in the future.

fantastic service and treatment, other vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with Charlie(my poodle) but, they knew right away and treated him immediately. Cant say enough good thing about this practice!! Gretel Schuck-Brownsville, VT

We drive nearly 2 hours to CAH from S. New Hampshire. Why? Because their prices are fair, no one compares to Dr. Fisher's soft tissue surgery skills, or the compassion of their vets and staff. Their ER service has saved several of our animals, including farm animals. We lost one last week, but it was clear that everyone was committed to doing their very best, having compassion for human and animal alike. We are very thankful for CAH.
