EDIT: We declined any further services because the doctotlr on duty told us he wasn't knowledgeable enough to figure out what was wrong with her. His diagnosis was that she was in heat. She was spayed in August. I've owned cats before and I know what a cat going into heat looks like. It certainly doesn't look like what I saw. He also told us she was fine to go home. Even though her temperature was dropping. My cat is dead because of these people's complete incompetence. The late night doctor told us he had no idea what was wrong with her, that he had never seen symptoms like hers before and didn't think he was skilled enough to perform an xray or utrasound to identify what was wrong. I brought my kitty in at 3:00 am Friday 12/4. She was howling in pain, acting lethargic and her temperature was dropping. She was later diagnosed with pancreatitis at a different facility. But it was too late. She went into shock and fell into a coma with little to no brain activity. If we had only driven to the hospital right up the street from them, she may have survived. Do not bring your pets to their 24/7 emergency room, they have no idea what they're doing.

I felt very listened to and soothed -- I knew they wanted the best for my boy. I didn't feel pressured into anything, including treatment or meds or CPR vs DNR.

Many disappointments with this company. Lies, overpriced $58 base visits, bad recordkeeping, long wait times on the phone, hangups, poor customer service (except Lizzy who I think left) and everything is done behind closed door.

We brought Bristol a year ago as she had a problem with her eyes. Dr. Herr made the diagnosis and recommend a treatment that has helped so much! Our last vet wanted us to take her to an Ophthalmologist $$$$$. The first phone call while making the transfer was with Sarah. I could tell this was a caring place. At her first physical the other day, all the staff was very nice and accommodating. Dr. Herr is great. Glad we made the switch.

My dog got gives from who knows what and. I thought when I called them that and emergency visit like in Nashua where I use to live would cost me $300. That's just to walk in the door. Not at this animals ER it was like $88. To walk in the door and whatever the cost was for meds. I have a out bull and they weren't even afraid of her she's so good but they have her a shot of steroids and it took the gives a way in a couple of day. The full visit was a little over $100.00 and the DR and nurses were amazing u can tell they love animals and it's not about the money it's about ur family, that's why there there to make sure ur families ok Keep up the good work!! This is where I'll go and recommend to all my friends and I have at the dog park and my neighbors who have pets if something goes wrong to bring their beloved here.

My kitty and I are both treated very kindly and compassionately. They are very gentle with my kitty, and I feel like they really care not only about my pet's health, but about how comfortable my pet is being there. They do their best to keep him calm and are very gentle.

I brought my 9 month old kitten to this hospital at 3 am on Friday 12/4/2015. She woke us howling in pain and we rushed her there immediately. Unfortunately, the doctor we dealt with was very uninformed about cats. He admitted he had no idea what was wrong with her and said he could attempt an xray or ultrasound, but didn't really know how or didn't have the skill. Our cat died 24 hours later. She had pancreatitis. It was too late, no thanks to the late night doctor at the AVC. Don't bring your cats here. They have no idea what they're doing. Let me also point out that they did offer to run some tests, but the vet who offered also stated he was not experienced enough or educated enough to give us any definitive answers. He didn't offer to have another vet see her or refer us to another facility, which by the way there is one about 2 minutes down the street, he just said "Yeah, she's acting weird. I don't know what to tell you." Then he sent us on our way claiming she was healthy enough to wait until morning for our family vet to see her. If you have a 24 hour facility, you have a social and moral obligation to staff it with experienced knowledgeable doctors. People rely on these services in cases of emergency and expect that the "expert" they are bringing their pets to will be able to help them. They don't expect to be greeted with ignorance and excuses. They say those of us giving one star reviews need to give specifics, there's some specifics for you! My Cat died because their staff is unknowledgeable and incompetent. Anyone reading this review, heed my warning: Do yourself a favor, drive 2 more minutes down the street and go to the Southern New Hampshire emergency hospital. It could save your pet's life.

A 1 rating [downgraded from 2 for their response] is very generous considering the ownership and quaranteeing situation. We have used this place often since it's the only one of it's kind in town. Kelloway is an example of poor customer service and a giver of obnoxious advice to those same customers. If you possibly can go elsewhere [anywhere] you should do that. Under this management it's only getting worse.

Young woman at front desk and techs were wonderful. Vet did not introduce herself - although techs referred to her as owner. Thought her bedside manner was poor - she was very disinterested in what I wanted to tell her about my dog - very dismissive— certainly not something I am accustomed at my regular vet- unfortunately this was an after hours visit and the concern I had for my dog could not wait until morning.

Absolute life savers! My dog Max had seen another Vet with no definitive answer on what was wrong with him. After 700$ and a week, Max was still in very bad shape. We where told it will work itself out and he was just sick, or pay 2,500.00$ for "exploritory surgery on a guess" We took him to Manchester AVC and almost immediately their doctor knew Max had a blockage of some sort, likley a foreign object. After an ultra sound (which we had suggested to last vet to do and they did not....because it shows more than x rays) they could tell it was a problem with his small intestine. They openend him up, he had gotten into a small end of corn cob that caused the block. No matter what happens now, they saved my, my kids and the whole family's BEST FREIND! For that we are forever Grateful! Words can simply not express the joy and love we feel knowing they saved his life. With that said, from the bottom of every member of Max's Family Thank you all! From the doctors, to the vet tech, to the secretary at the front desk! Thanks to each and every one of you! P.s. I just read some of the negative reviews on here. I can't speak to the particular ailments of any one elses pets and experience. But as far as the pricing complaints go ,they are absurd. Our pups surgery was literally 1,000$ less at AVC than other quotes..... Sounds reasonable to me.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. My dog had recently had a run in with a porcupine. Well of course it turned fatal. One of the quills had punctured his lung and his chest had filled up with air. Because I already knew he was going to need a CT scan from previous emergency and non emergency vet visits for the same incident, I brought him there because they had that capability and I didn't see a point going somewhere else to get his chest tapped (get the air out with a needle) then end up having to go there anyway. This vet is an hour from where I live. I called and talked to the front desk person and she knew the situation and knew we were coming. I went there under the impression that the ct scan would be about $1000 (it says $975 on their website). Well when I walked in the door she proceeds to tell me it's going to be about 3500-4000. Of course I was shocked! I just drove an hour here with my dog in severe distress. So I asked why, she proceeded to tell me that because it was a quill they MIGHT not be able to find it with the ct scan so they were just having a SURGEON cut him open to search around and try to find it!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Keeping in mind they haven't even seen my dog yet as he was big and very scared and wouldn't come out of the truck. I told them I never agreed to have surgery nor was I sure we would do it if it was necessary because without a ct scan there is no way to know for sure how bad it was internally. I told them I had $1000, she said she would go speak with the "medical director" and see what they could do. She left me out there for probably a total of 30-45 min, where I finally went outside since my 4 year old was getting antsy, she came out and gave me the name of some place in Boston and told me there was nothing they could do for me! All while I was bawling my eyes out. They didn't even offer to at least take him in and take a look at him! NOTHING!! I was super pissed, so I went "down the road" to the other emergency vet. And wouldn't you know it they took him right in to at least get him in and try to make him somewhat comfortable. Her exact words were "We aren't going to just let your dog suffer." BEFORE asking about anything financial. I understand they can't do everything for free, of course, but I had $1000!! I just don't get it. And unfortunately the ending to this story isn't a good one, as of yesterday my 2.5 year old Alaskan Malamute, Kuma, my baby, my bodyguard, has passed away. I begged them for help on Friday Aug 26. We could've saved him had they found it that day. :(

Had to bring our very old kitty to AVC Manchester very early this morning. so glad they are open 24 hours. So sad to say we had to send our little kitty over the rainbow bridge but everyone there was so kind and compassionate. Thank you AVC and your staff for your kindness.

AVC has always taken great care of my pets & I'm sad to lose them in moving away. I've had some complex issues with my pets including a cat that needed PU surgery and getting all the paperwork in order to move my dog over seas. They are more expensive then average, but I think you get what you pay for. They have always been helpful, kind and compassionate.

I have a Blue Nose Pitt Bull who is allergic to the world and very shy. At first I was happy with the way AVC treated my dog, they put her on a regime of medicine that worked perfect. My baby's fur was growing back. They had me bring her in about every 3 weeks for 4 months to be checked, out. On September 31 they took her off the Apoquil and put her on Pretazone, she was also taking Ketoconazole. On November 25th I went to pick up her refill of the Ketoconazole and they told me they would not give the pills unless she came in for a check up. I told the woman that my dog was there 3 weeks prior. I pleaded with her to give me one pill to last untill I could get her in there. The women refused to help me. The next day someone form AVC called me to tell me my dogs prescription was ready. I told her about the night be for and she put me on hold for a min. When she came back she apologized for the misunderstanding, that the Doc only wanted to take my dog off of the Ketoconazole and put her on Pretazone. I informed her my dog was put on Pretazone 3 weeks ago. I do not trust this place anymore. They are just in it for the money. They dont even take the time to look at my dogs chart befor they refused to give me her medicine. If AVC is your regular vet, keep a close eye on them. I will never bring my dog there again.

Staff were pleasant and very accommodating.

Had a great experience! Really can't say enough about the welcoming warm friendly and funny reception we get here. Helps when you are in a worried state about your pet! Would love it if you guys were able to offer accupuncture and chiropractic!!

David Smith

Took great care of smitty when he had 2 CCL surgery’s in 12 weeks. Great team from reception to techs, and of course Doctors.

Tina Lin

My youngest dog met her first porcupine last weekend. The staff at AVC had us in and out of there in a 1 1/2 from walking in, surgery and her coming out of anesthesia and going home. They were supportive, informative and very calming in a stressful situation for us and the dog. This was late on a Friday night and everyone on staff was very kind and patient with us, given this was our first dog "emergency". I would highly recommend them based on my experience.

Donna Kablik

Great place...love the hours! I have multiple dogs and am a loyal customer. I have dealt with many different vets on staff at AVC who were all professional and knowledgeable. (Wow, I must have missed the LAZY ones!)

Areej Shoaib

I took my my kitten there and after waiting quite a bit they told me all then possible things she “could” have but weren’t sure had or not. On top of that they treated her for 3 different things she “possibly had” causing us to have more than one deductible and pay for each separate diagnostic to the insurance company after $233 in one day. They also made sure we have a foot in their door by mentioning she has another possible issueshe needs to be treated for and setting up another appointment next week. Even called to ask and set it up. In other words they are in it for the money, and want to make sure they keep making money off of us. Definitely in association with insurance companies to do it the way do it. Bad business practices!

Linda Rutter

I am very grateful to AVC for the kind, compassionate care they always give my animal on an emergency basis.Sara at the desk is wonderful ! The Drs. and techs are very efficient and kind as well. WI also adopted 2 beautiful cats from there and take them there for routine care. I couldn't be happier with the care they get.

Nicole marier

If I could give this place a zero rating I would they are absolutely horrible at treating your animals we went to avc Manchester sept 2nd into the 3rd our kitty was panting and throwing up so we rushed him in their they took him in and cared for him so we thought, we went to our reg vet yesterday and picked up the paper work that avc wrote their notes on from the visit and found that they had wrote some DISCUSSING things on their they said we smoke marijuana which is a total lie my fiance works at an insurance agency and i work in an office as well so neither of us can smoke especially with our jobs i told them the story several times what exactly hapend to our cat they got it all wrong said he was puking blood and pooping blood at home which again was NOT true then while at the vet they said we only had to put down partial payment and then at the end of the night they said the doctor was going to make us pay the whole bill or they were going to euthanize our cat they kept threatening us that they were going to call the cops and kill our cat for NO REASON there were several other people in the office that night they all got ignored and the girl behind the desk kept taking off and not attending to customers up front they kept taking our money for tests and never did anything they said they were going to do an ultrasound never did said they were going to give him a urinalysis and never did they then told us sat morning that we had to come pick our cat up and bring him to an internist because there was nothing they could do for us must i mention that in the paper work that doctor kelloway stated to this doctor that was on that night who had only been there for 2 months she said that she could DISCONTINUE services on my cat basically going to let him die on us while he was in their care that is disgusting and totally wrong to not follow through with caring for an animal and abuse the owners who are paying their bills and saying that we smell like marijuana which is a total lie and i would love to take a urine test to prove that we have both been clean to prove false accusations on us we then picked our cat up sat afternoon after they basically told us they were not doing anything else for him brought him to another er vet and when they took him out of the carrier he was filled with blood urine and feces all over his belly from neglect while being in their care we spent till 3am sat am with our cat and after 6 hrs at the vet that night they had no answers for us and gave him a bunch of drugs and he had vomit all over him from them not caring for him thank god our cat is still alive but i would like to bring this to the attention to you guys of the abuse my pet and my family went through the girl Brittney who was the secretary that night gave us attitude many time and told us to be quiet and stop crying while we could hear our cat YOWLING out back in their care i will never bring my cat back there my family and i have called several times went down and also sent emails and doctor kelloway (manager) is refusing to give us a call back!! also i would like to bring it to your attention they said they were going to continually check on him and such they left him locked up and no notes or care on the paperwork till 11am sat the next day i am just totally appalled that they would write these horrendous things for other vets and expecting that we would never see this!

best caring dedicated staff on the planet i would personally thank and give a shout out to Hannah Alexanda from bottom of my heart for taking care of my sick dying Scooby Doo Hannah Alexandra and all AVC staff i can't thank you enough for being there for me in most difficult time in life GOD BLESS YOU

My pet's emergency was handled in a professional manner. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the procedure and the risks involved.

They take excellent care of my pets. Spending time with them and with us. Informing all the details of whatever we need. The staff and doctors are always helpful and want the best for your best

We love AVC. They took care of our very sick Sphinx baby in his last days, and they gave him so much love and attention. I can't recommend them enough - the staff is kind and the vets are very smart and professional. Dr. Kelloway diagnosed our baby, Percy, with FIP. She was realistic and up front about his prognosis, but that wasn't what we wanted to hear. She was honest, and discouraged us from spending a lot of money on 'treatments' that she had never seen effective. We couldn't have listened at that time because we had hope, but FIP is something that does not disappear because you are hopeful. It's devastating, and Dr. Kelloway and her staff were there for Percy, and for us. Percy was given so much love by Dr. Kelloway and the staff. Whenever I called in the middle of the night, I was given an immediate update. Dr. Kelloway made herself available to us after Percy's death to discuss what happened and if we should pursue testing on our other cats. She didn't have to do that, but she did, and she was realistic and open to helping is in any way that she could. Dr. Kelloway also sourced meds for us that we pushed for, and obtained them when other vets either refused or said they couldn't be found in the US. She didn't have to do this for us, but she did. I'm reading some of these reviews and just have to shake my head. I had the option to take Percy to the other place, "up the road" and I can tell you that I paid exorbitantly about a year before for one of my cats to be evaluated there. The vet said we needed expensive blood tests and we agreed, but never looked in his ears. Later that morning, he had fluid dripping from his ears, and as my regular vet was open, we took him in and he had a massive ear infection. You would think that a vet would at least check an animal's ears upon initial exam. Our regular vet said that with how severe it was, it wouldn't have been missed. So if people are saying to, 'go down the road,' good luck with that. You'll spend a lot more money and perhaps they will find the cause, and perhaps they won't. I cannot recommend AVC enough. We recently took our ill Devon Rex to be seen, and they were wonderful- even when I was fretting and was ready to pay for advanced testing, the vet discouraged us from spending and told us what to look for. She was bang on with her recommendations. I could have easily spent hundreds more, and if this clinic were as 'money grubbing' as some say they are, well, that has NEVER been my experience with them - quite the opposite. I brought my boy back today to them for a re-check, and they do NOT charge for an additional visit within the first 24 hours. We saw a different vet who had been there for us when Percy was sick, and she a wonderful job with my sick boy. I won't hesitate to take my sick animals to AVC.

Unfortunately for me I have had both my dogs have needed a visit or two...fortunately for them this place is awesome..great people who are great with the dogs..even respectfully answer questions when you call...seems as they want the best for the dogs even if it means handling the problem at home with no $$ in it for them which is appreciated

Crystal Silva

Everyone that we encountered was wicked friendly! Even hearing them interact with other clients! The vet did a thorough examination of my cat for an emergency visit.

Denise Donovan

Except for the wait because I am impatient :-) love the place I've been there a few times over the years for varying types of emergencies and they are great.

Don't go here! I showed up at 3 am with my dog who has hurt his leg. The receptionist wanted to spend time chastising me for giving my dog 3 aspirin in the last 36 hours. He's had 3 aspirin in his life! I told her I didn't want to spend time being chastised or arguing about aspirin; I just wanted to get my dog some help. She got a bad attitude and everything in me screamed get out of there! I came home to find another emergency clinic and saw these reviews. I'm so glad I left... Listen to your gut when choosing help for your pet.

I’ve been going here for years, but our last experience was horrible. I sent my dog in for a check up, and to get a rash on her face taken care of. After charging me almost $300 they did pretty much nothing. Shaved her face and gave her an antibiotic. She went in with a horrible ear infection that they didn’t even look at, didn’t recommend any treatment either. They just told us “yea it might be her ears”. If I’m paying so much for a check up they need to be actually examining my dog and make sure she’s okay. I’m not a vet, so I came to them for help and got pretty much nothing. Very disappointed

Can't say enough nice things about Dr. Kalloway. Our dog dislocated his elbow which is so rare and she managed to get it back in place. So thankful for her! She is so sweet too!

Shannon Demers

AVC is affordable, clean, caring, helpful and compassionate! I found them years ago when a cat needed an ultrasound and ended up following up there since. Dr. Kelloway is the most amazing and sweetest person I could ask for, and always includes you when making decisions and listens to all concerns. The front staff are always friendly and helpful and the techs out back are kind as well. I wont go anywhere else!

I recently took our cat Tobi to Dr. Deb Kelloway to have surgery. He had a perineal urethrostomy, which is a very invasive surgery, but he needed it. The last part of his urethra was blocked (scarring from crystals, licking, inflammation, Enterococcus and a partridge in a pear tree). That last portion of his urethra was removed along with his penis. Ouch! We tried everything and waited as long as we could. He was hurting and baptized too many places in our home. He was lethargic and even lost three pounds. AVM in Concord is where we took him, and they charged only $1500 for all services. Places here in Mass. charge between $2600-$3600, which is absurd. We are so very happy to have found this clinic. Tobi is doing very well in his recovery and is peeing like a race horse. He has his appetite back and is an eating-peeing-poop machine. He’s making up for the all food he missed when he was not well. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. :) Thank you, Dr. Kelloway for offering reasonable prices, loving animals and doing great work.

I've been with AVC since 2010 and I've never been disappointed with the staff or treatments my dogs. By far both Sarah's are my favorites, but all the staff seems nice and knowledgeable. Doctor Kelloway saved Abby seven years ago, when we didn't know what was wrong with her. Dr. Kelloway went well beyond what she had to do, she was calling vets down south, and because of that she was able to prescribe the right medicine and my dog lived. Just recently my other dog Gracie had a mass the size of a soft ball if not larger on her mammary gland, tests said it wasn't cancer, but Dr. Kelloway though it was. We did the surgery and removed the mass and the 3rd test did show it was a rare form of breast cancer in dogs. It's not what I want to hear, but thanks to Dr. Kelloway and her staff my dog can live out the rest of her live comfortably. I don't believe every visit to the vet will be positive when you adopt or buy an animal they can't tell you if they are in pain, or if there is a problem. You have to trust your vet and hope they make the right choice, but like a human doctor that might not always be the case. All I can say is I'm thankful for AVC and Dr. Kelloway because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have my two dogs today.

Erin

Excellent care! I am so happy our 9 yr old dog was taken here. She was extremely sick and I enjoyed the Doctors...very easy going and laid back. Proficient and caring! Our dog was sick for 3 weeks and did not think Miley would make it! She is back to herself again! Thank you whole heartedly❤❤❤❤❤Scott and Erin

I love AVC Manchester! This weekend my pitbull Bella was having seizure symptoms and I rushed her to AVC. In the car I called the nurse (I believe it was Sarah) and explained what was going on. The moment I walked in the door with Bella, Sarah was prepared for us and had a plan to figure out what was going on. We had met a whole team of techs, nurses, and vets throughout the process, each paying attention to all of my dog’s symptoms and answering all of the questions I had. We went through a whole process of tests from blood work, to an ultrasound, then testing that had to be sent out. Dr. Kelloway found it was an allergic reaction and after bringing my dog home, she broke out in hives for a second time. Dr. Kelloway made time to take a quick look at Bella’s hives again to make sure they weren’t getting too bad, and provided a steroid for her. When Bella had a reaction from the steroid and I called back again, Dr. Kelloway remembered me and my dog immediately, which is rare for such a large vet. The team has checked up via call numerous times and got back to me punctually about the test results.

this place is disgusting my dog got attacked and her wound was open and bleeding and they wouldnt help my father with the dog unless he had 900-1000 they let him walk out with her bleeding and her wound still wide open then sent us a bill for the emergency visit which we are not paying havent gotten another bill since. these guys dont even deserve one star i will never bring my animals here again i thought i could trust them but obviously not they dont care about their animals they care about the money. this happened in july of 2015 they had my father who has a brai injury try to apply for their stupid care credit he knew he was going to get denied but they had him do it anyways and when he got denied they still would not help my poor lexus they wanted to do xrays you cant do xrays on an open wound instead you let her walk out bleeding and in pain all because you wouldnt help us but then we found a even better vet that worked with us and made a payment plan for us evn though we had no money they helped us and did what needed to be done for my dog unlike you guys all you care about is getting your money its disgusting. then you have the balls to send us a emergency visit bill for 78 dollars when you didnt even help my dog therefore we are not paying you you will never see that money i will never come here or reccomend you to anyone you guys are gross money hungry how are you guys still open. i advise people not to go here especially if your low income like my dad and i were because they wont help you.. my dog lexus is doing great now all because of her new vet they are the best vet ever!! tower hill animal hospital in auburn they rock they helped me and my lexi when you guys wouldnt i know when i become a vet tech and then a vet i will not treat anyone or their animals like you guys do. you guys disgust me

This douchebag will never accept accountability even after her license is pulled. I hope the attorney general’s office gets involved and that criminal charges are forth coming. I further hope that a civil judgement is issued against her she is forced to repay all of the victims the money they wasted on her sham services. I know that Kelloway gave an excuse that she “forgot” to renew or was unaware that her license expired. This is a lie because it has been brought the her attention by myself and several of the other customers that are suing her months before the board got involved. Completely UNETHICAL and repulsive business practices. I was told that the reason she was cheaper is because the surgeons don't have the same credentials as most vets. I didn't see this as a major problem at the time, but it was. Almost $7K later, I find out the surgery was not successful and they wanted me to pay another $3K to correct the surgery they botched. They became very verbally abusive when I refused to immediately cough up the cash and called the police when I walked out with my dog. Let there be no confusion - Kelloway botched the surgery. She used a steel plate which was not a durable material, or the plate was faulty all together - the finding of and independent vet that worked for the Lowell police. I then had to take my dog to a qualified vet (board certified) and pay to have the surgery done correctly - using a titanium plate as he said should have been done in the first place. (recommended by the Animal Rescue League at a much cheaper price). I never at any point told her I couldn’t afford services. She was simply advised that she shouldn’t be paid twice for the same service to be performed, legally that’s undue enrichment. If they mess up your coffee order at Dunkin Donuts in the morning, do you pay for 2 coffees? No, they correct their mistake, and you pay for the one coffee. In the situation with Kelloway, I paid for a coffee I never received, and then she refused to refund my money. She then sent me a letter in the mail threatening to have me charged with "Theft of Services" if I don't pay them an additional $246 within 14 days. When my credit card company called them immediately after and asked them to over the phone to redo the surgery for dog, they laughed in the customer service rep's face and told him they wouldn't do anything without full payment upfront. The owner asserts below there was an offer of pain medication made at the time of the incident, but as they were only concerned with obtaining payment. Fortunately I did have quite a bit of Tramadol left. This woman is a callous, money hungry sociopath willing to say anything to prevent a review from having a negative financial impact on her business. Granted the circumstances of what happened to my dog were unfortunate. I cooperated with the police to have the perpetrator charged with 2 felony counts of animal abuse and will be testifying against him at his trial. But there is absolutely no excuse for Kelloway to have used the circumstances of the case to try to cover up for her malpractice. When you look at all of negative reviews, believe them. My experience with this woman was a nightmare. And I was told by my lawyer her name has come across his desk more than a couple of times. I’m not sure if she is completely immoral, or mentally ill. Either way you’re better off not finding out and taking your business to a reputable vet. Also, please take note that as soon as she recieves a well deserved negative review such as this, she immediately asks her staff to create fake google profiles and write fake 5 Star reviews. I agree with all the negative reviews stating she could "care less." It's horrible that someone so unscrupulous should be allowed to remain in business. The unprofessional conduct of herself and employees are a disservice to the public and should be stopped. This loser is guilty of victimizing the victims.

Don’t go here. Run a google search for the owner who is under major litigation by multiple clients. Two years ago I brought my 7 year old lab in because he went from perfectly healthy to not being able to stand overnight. I waited for hours before an actual vet came in the room. The other staff were rude and unqualified to even answer basic questions. Without running a single test the vet told me my dog must have a mast tumor that exploded in his intestine and there was nothing they could do to save him. I begged them to do something. Asked to transfer him into Boston even. They refused. Forced me to put him down or said he would die alone in pain. They didn’t even give me time to say goodbye. They injected him so fast and he was gone. They then forced me out of the room immediately after. I wasn’t given any privacy with him to mourn. Nor an option of an autopsy to find out what was wrong with him. A year later my other dog needed emergency surgery. There was no vet or surgeon available. They wanted to have a tech operate on him. I said no. They then told me I had to leave and take him elsewhere. I refused because moving him at that point would kill him. The owner cane in to perform surgery. She gladly took my over $4000. We’ll i just called them with a question now months later only to be told that directly after that surgery and taking thousands of dollars of my money the owner dismissed me as a client and won’t treat my pets. All because I wouldn’t allow an unlicensed vet to perform surgery on my dog. Never told me nor sent anything in writing informing me of this. You would think a business owner being sued by so many people would do a better job of following the law. And now all I think about is if my dog, my best friend could have been saved. If they killed him. And now I’ll never know. And I have to live with that for the rest of my life.

Thank you for today. We are relieved about Jax condition and let the breeder know. Wow that was the first time we paid for service in the exam room. We love AVC! The quality of care and time spent discussing options. Again thank you! Jessica, Mike

Awful I don't know what happened to this place Dr kelloway needs to give it up before she destroyes another family. I don't recommend this place for anything ever.

Amie LaGrenade

We've had to take our puppy in for emergency visits and each time they were great. They were really sympathetic and they took care of our puppy the best that they could. We won't go anywhere else.

Whitney Moreau

Vet techs are so nice, very helpful. Doctors are knowledgeable and honest. It's obvious how much they really love animals and treat your fur babies as their own.

Denise Benton

We came in with out senior cat with a gash on her side. We were told the wait was 45 mins tops to be seen. It took over 2 hours to be placed in a room (after I spoke to reception 3 times), then I had to go back out to reception 2 more times before we finally got a vet tech to see out cat. The vet tech and vet were both extremly timid about handling our cat, and the whole experience took over 3 hours.

adam salem

She even personally called my cell phone to discuss how everything went with Fripon and Pinnochio. As a professional myself I found that she was very communicative and re assuring about her pet. Also , her fees were a fraction of the ones we were used to with our previous vet in Bedford. I am bringing my other 3 in 2 weeks. Great Dental Care for pets !!!

Douglas Whitbeck

I can't say enough good about AVC. They saved our little guy several times -- when he had tried to make friends with a porcupine, when he had urinary blockage. And those things always seemed to happen on weekends or after hours when our regular vet was closed.

Amanda Chretien

Marley was very well taken care of and I felt comfortable(as much as a dog mom could be) leaving her there for monitoring. Marley did not seem scared and liked all of her doctors. I brought her back for bloodwork a day later and she was excited to see everyone.

Katharine Powell

The staff is always so friendly & helpful - they take your fears & worries away with their confidence, knowledge & love for animals

Kathy Gibbs

We came to AVC so distraught and worried about our dog who means the world to us, but we left so hopeful and happy! Warm and friendly staff, swift results for all tests taken. Spacey, clean comfy, peaceful enviroment. Thank you guys for your excellent care! Kasa thanks you too!??

Correy Fraize

I brought my poodle today. The techs were wonderful. Dr. Herr was wonderful. They gave us peace of mind. My dog was very at ease when they handled him and there’s something to be said for the comfort of the animals they treat. I am looking forward to taking the cone of shame off my pup and getting on with life.

patricia underwood

Used this facility twice, once with my adult newf, and Monday with my 5 months old Shih Tzu. Friendly staff, knowledgeable tech and vet. They presented me with the cost up front so I could make an informed decision about the care for my pup. I am glad there is a facility that provides help after hours.

Carol Paul

I had a dog with inoperable colon cancer that one vet said nothing could be done. Another emergency vet clinic charged outlandish prices for tests and wanted to operate. After already charging $1500+ for the test wanted $4400. for operation they couldn't give much hope for. my husband found AVC on the internet, called, got an emergency appointment right away. Dr Holloway did and ultrasound, checked him out., said it was inoperable, gave him 3 medications and he lived pain free for 7 more months. All for less than my visit at the ER! She is kind, knowledegable and I can't believe anyone has a problem with her !!

Suzie Kula

All I can say is check out all the complaints and lawsuits that have been filed. None of the DR's are board certified but claim to be advanced care emergency. With no emergency training. They can't even keep there help for long no one stays. I wonder why??

Andrew Loranger

Stay away from this place. There are FAR better resources in the area than this in my honest opinion.

Emily Perkins

AWFUL. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! I brought my very sick dog here who needed emergency surgery and they told me he was stable and to come back another day. A vet that wasn't even there told a new inexperienced vet over the phone that he wasn't an urgent situation. I took him to another clinic right from here and they had him in surgery within the hour. He would've died overnight if I hadn't taken him somewhere else. Vets here are lazy and do not care about the wellbeing of your animals. They only care about taking your money.

Diane Seabury

My two dogs mixed it up with an opossum in the yard this morning. My older dog was cut and bleeding, so we brought him in immediately. The vet we saw was thorough and did a great job stitching his lip for me. She also told me that he would need a booster for his rabies and did administer that. Once I got home, it became evident that my younger dog also had scratches on her nose. (She is black and her cuts were not evident in the early morning melee; the cuts are superficial ).When I called back to see if she required a rabies booster, I was told that she did not. Whomever I spoke with on the phone informed me that as long as the younger dog had a current rabies vaccination, she would not need a booster. I contacted our regular vet, and our regular vet informed me that it's policy in the state of New Hampshire that if an animal has had Wildlife contact a month AFTER a rabies shot, they need a booster. My vet could not see my dog today, so I called some other clinics in the area and was also told that yes indeed the young dog should have a booster (she is 2 yeas into her 3 year oF curgent rabies vaccusation). Why would the AVC give the old dog a booster and not the young dog? When I asked the individual on the phone this question, I did not receive an answer. Why would they recommend a booster for one dog with a wound and not another dog with a wound? I find that quite puzzling! We are off shortly to get our booster at Tower Hill Veterinary Clinic - they had no problem making a new pet visit for us. I would like to add that a Google search did not turn up any policy for NH regarding rabies boosters after wildlife encounters, but 3 vets I spoke with on the phone all agreed that the advice I got from the AVC was suspect. I say better safe than sorry.

Robin Carignan

I brought my cat Misty in with a stomach tumor and they where so kind and helpful they gave me 3 more months with her but sadly the last visit was very hard we had to euthanize her. The drs and staff were so very kind and compassionate I would recommend them for a vet.

courtney Fortier

If you come across an abused animal that needs medical attention and want to help it -- DON'T bring it to AVC. Their unsympathetic staff will turn you away.

Kelly Boisvert

I wish I could give them more stars! I have now taken my dog there twice, and both times everyone (receptionists, techs, and the vets) have been truly fantastic. My dog gets aggressive at the vets, and needs to be muzzled, but both times I have been there the vets have been able to calm her down after, and get her to hang out in the room with them without a muzzle. Without knowing my dog, this probably doesn't sound that amazing, but it really, really is. Furthermore, both times my issues have been addressed quickly and easily. No extra tests or explorations, just answers and solutions. You can really tell they are not there for the money. Also, the entire place is sparkling clean!

Brenda Armour

Please do not bring your pets here for care they almost killed my cat after i brought him here. He ripped his stomach open and they charged me 75 dollars before i was even seen by a vet then refused to help him as he was laying there dying in my arms because i didnt have the whole 650 dollars they wanted in full right there to treat him i asked if i could make payments and they refused i jist found out they did the exact same thing to someone else I know whose dog was having a seizure...i dont know how any of you stand to look at yourselves in the mirror you are the sickest cruelest most heartless excuses I've ever seen in my life

Chris Bob

Worst experience ever I've been going there since Deb Callaway first open and they were a little hole-in-the-wall veterinarian I have given her thousands and thousands of dollars and then a year ago my dog had to have porcupine clothes removed they did the job but they said some broke off in that if they started protruding through her skin then bring her back and they would remove them for free well when they start a protruding through her skin I brought her back and they tried to tell me there was nothing that they could do I gave them a bad review on Facebook and then my dog is sick and has been throwing up and I called them last night to bring her in and they denied me service because of the fact I gave them a bad review on Facebook there is another emergency vet center in Manchester please go to that one before you use avc absolutely horrible business yeah if you have something simple and then I'm sure they can take care of your problem but if it's something that requires kindness and thoughtfulness your best bet is to move on to the next vet would not recommend anybody go there

Laura Roark

They are not conservative or considerate towards the cost of caring for your pet. They are not thorough in diagnostic testing to rule out the cause of the illness. Labs that are standard procedures were not performed before hand even though it was discussed that they would be. You will barely get any time with the actual vet instead they task it all out to the techs or maybe even the receptionist. Once you see the vet interaction is very quick none of the ones I’ve seen take time to explain the game plan, side effects, home care or symptoms to look out for. Info is not given to you freely by the Dr instead you have to ask all the questions. Which when you’re in there for an emergency you haven’t done your research before hand so how do you know which specific questions to ask. Once you go home and research and know that’s when you’ll get the run around and the vet is no where to be found for your inquiries. Multiple doctors work here and you will see a different one every time. Which means they will make you keep repaying for an exam even though what brings you in is the exact same cause. There is no leeway even when mentioning it’s the same cause and all diagnostic testing there is to do was already done at this point in time so it should all be right in the record. Still you will pay a fee to be seen and a few on top of that for whatever else they say needs to be done. It feels like extortion as if profit is the #1 driver. The place is loud they constantly have dogs barking loudly and consistently. There’s a special room for the dogs that have been rescued and are in quarantine but it’s not sound proof by any means so that will add a huge amount of stress to your animal on top of everything already stressful for them. After surgery when time to take home my pet was so dirty and smelly you could tell he wasn’t well managed or cared for during his required 3 night 4 day stay. I asked the vet and reminded a few times while he was under anesthesia to shave the bad mats off his belly/groin area and they didn’t. Despite being placed under anesthesia two times cause they were insufficient the first time. I was recommend by a veterinarian friend, I should have seen Manchester Emergency Vet located in the same vicinity. She made sure to inform me of a couple ongoing unresolved lawsuits tied to AVC and ensured me that Manchester Emergency Vet has better medicine and care. Since the situation is still not resolved and it’s close to 3 weeks later I will be going there. ESP. Since there is No fee forgiveness at allll not even the least bit. If it’s as if I’m paying to be seen for the first time every time I’m going elsewhere. Choose a different hospital.

Amanda McMahon

Beware of this place! I brought my cat in and before running any tests they told me a "diagnosis" and recommended she be put down. I felt very uncomfortable and upset that they had diagnosed her before running a single test. I chose to pay and remove my cat immediately. I brought her over to the veterinary animal hospital down the road where they actually ran tests and cared for my pet. I highly recommend staying far away from AVC, as they clearly do not have your pets best interest at heart.

Paul Camfield

5 stars isn't enough. Many reviewers here who complain about high prices also admit to having low income. Go figure. I bet you also blame your mechanic for ripping you off when you need your car checked over or new tires - if you can't afford the proper care then you probably shouldn't have animals (or cars). Before you walk out with your sick or injured four-legged family member, please consider that the cure for their pain and suffering should be worth more than a fistful of dollars. Dr Kelloway has actually refused to do tests and take our money despite us trying to force cash into her hands. She has been wonderful at letting us know that tests are available for $xxx, but will likely not help the outcome. She did advise us that the other emergency vet nearby would be happy to take our money for unnecessary tests, and they were definitely very pleased with the several hundred dollars we threw in their direction; of course, the tests told us nothing that Dr K hadn't already diagnosed. Yesterday, Dr Q told us we could have chest x-rays on one of babies, but simply waiting 24 hours would be just as effective and almost as quick. The front desk staff will give you pricing over the phone for an emergency visit and will also let you know you can save money if you wait for a daytime appointment. The techs will let you know more accurate pricing as soon as the problem has been diagnosed; they give both high-end and low-end estimates and invariably come out under the lowest price they quoted.

My dog is very scared and nervous with new people and places. We got her as a rescue at 1 and a half years old. The people here were amazing and very patient with her.

Caroline Perry

Writing this for a friend that had the worst experience possible. THIS CHRISTMAS IS VERY HARD, LOSING MY BABY TO A DEATH NOT NECESSARY, AND I WAS LIED TO AND STILL DON'T HAVE THE TRUTH FROM THEIR MOUTHS, I KNOW THE TRUTH. HOW SAD FOR HUMAN BEINGS CALLED DR'S, I DO FEEL SORRY FOR YOU AS GOD SEE'S ALL, EITHER WAY YOU WILL NOT WIN, DEAL WITH ME OR DEAL WITH GOD, MY ADVICE DEAL WITH ME, GOD'S PUNISHMENT IS VERY HARD.I PITY YOU AS PROFESSIONALS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES AND ALL WHO WORK AT YOUR HOSPITAL Deborah kelloway let her unlicensed unqualified help Athena kill there dog. Then lied about what happened. They believed her. Then the truth came out. How could Deborah kelloway do this they trusted her. All she cared about was covering it out. How does she sleep at night knowing she killed there baby.

So I went here a few years ago but it really is something you don't forget. My Westy had some strange symptoms, she had a seizure and was panting and appeared to be in pain. It was 4 AM and when I called ahead of time to see if I could bring her in...I mention she was kind of an older dog (12 years). The tech without even examining her said "well maybe it is time to let her go." I should have stopped right then and gone with my gut feeling. I went in and I myself was pretty chronically ill at the time in a wheel chair I will explain why this matters in a sec. So, when I went out back the vet comes out and all she does is take her temp and said "well her symptoms are so non specific, I think it could be a brain tumor and she needs a neuro work-up." I said "ok can you give her an MRI?" She had a pic on the wall of a dog in an MRI machine. So she said no and refereed me to another emergency clinic closer to my home. She did nothing. I mentioned that The dog and I had Lyme disease...could it be that? This was when the vet decided my recent illness and needing a wheelchair was depressing my dog and that the seizure could be all due to stress and she tried to put my dog on prozac! I felt completely discriminated against. This was the craziest thing I ever heard. She did literally nothing but confirm she didn't know what to do as the vet. Then she assumed money was an issue for me. At the time I was plush I assure you! But I wasn't going to sit their and tell her I had unlimited funds to drop down to help my dog at the time! What was she lecturing me about money for I never even brought money up! She berated me for not having pet insurance. But how would that help? she was refusing to help us! It turns out I ended up at Angel Memorial that night. I refused to pay my bill at AVC after she did nothing and discriminated against me. Her tech loomed over my wheelchair screaming at me. I said "you guys could have told me when I called you couldn't handle this! I came all the way over here at 4 AM!" It turns out my dog has cushings disease and is one daily medications and monthly vetcare. My persistance and knowlege enough to ignore this vet saved my dog.

Heather Santoro

Uncaring staff lacking compassion - over more than 1 visit. Incident that made me decide I will NEVER go back there: brought newly rescued dog in back in November 2018 after tarry poop and pale gums. I was concerned about blockage - they offered him a can of dog food and he ate it. They said “it’s not a blockage because if it was he wouldn’t have eaten” and he started acting more lively so they sent us home. We woke up in the morning to a dog in worse condition. Rushed to our regular vet and he was immediately diagnosed with a bowel blockage and internal bleeding. His red blood count was so low he needed TWO blood transfusions before he could even have surgery. Imagine if we had caught it the night before? He was so close to not pulling through. Second - if you can’t afford payment in full (even just a tiny short) they won’t treat. If you have a $4,000 treatment and you’re $300 short but can pay it in a week, they say no. Your options are euthanize the animal, or surrender it. I understand they’re a business and can’t work for free, but there needs to be flexibility sometimes. There’s another 24 hour emergency vet right up the street. Amazing care.

Nick Dellacava

This visit was just like our other visits. The care feels so personalized and thorough. Sarah and the folks at the desk are very helpful and go out of their way to offer assistance with scheduling and followup. Dr Kelloway cares for our girls as if they were hers. We feel her explanations are thorough and complete and we have all we need to make an informed decision.

Dan C

Dr. Herr and Dr. Kelloway are great vets. The techs are also really good and are really good with my dogs, even when they get cranky. Let's not forget the front desk staff who are always very welcoming and helpful and super responsive whenever I email.

Michael Vigneault

The staff has been professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and are responsive to our questions. They have great listening skills which is so important to a positive experience. They truly care about the patient and family members and it shows. The hospital is clean and areas are safe for pets. Very pleased with our care. Thank you.

Nellie Vilaro

Claudia McNulty

Dr. Kelloway and her staff are very caring and attentive! And unlike some emergency vets, they don’t rush to do surgery (unless of course it is critical to do so!) without weighing all other options!

Jessica Mitchell

Thank you avc for helping my dog deliver her puppies in the middle of the night. You helped us through a huge crisis and I don't think mom or the pups would of survived without you. So helpful friendly and compassionate. thank you for being there and thank you for all your hard work and dedication. I send everyone I know there and will continue to do so bravo!!

Dan Garthwaite

I tell all my pet loving friends about AVC. I've never felt more comfortable and confident in a medical facility. I wish more human hospitals ran the same.

Bruceandbeth Dunning

I love the front staff they are helpful. The night ER crew is truly compassionate. My regular visit with my other dog was great and knowledgeable technician and veterinarian.

TheAvc in Manchester is one of my favorites in the area. I have two dogs, and a cat. In which one dog and a cat have been seen there multiple times. When I was scared and mortified by my cat Logan urinating blood and urinating in odd spots while crying, Avc was a phone call away with what advice was best. They said this could be a blockage which can be fatal for cats and to bring him in. Every word they used was 100% appropriate and helpful. When I brought Logan in, they examined him, and did a couple tests. Turns out he has feline cystitis which they told me exactly how to help him. I changed his diet to wet food only, and have been ensuring his stress levels are minimal (sometimes hard with multiple dogs in a felines home) Logan has been great ever since- playful and having no bladder issues. Let it also be known.. The bill was minimal! I have nothing but good things to say about avc's staff. They are all loving and caring people. They all have their own pets, and they treat your pets as their own. Their goal is to help your fur babies get better, and it is your job as a pet owner to do what it takes to help your pets. My word of advice, if you can't afford or handle what comes with pets, then don't get them. Thank you Dr Kelloway and AVC staff. Side note: if your animals bills are high YOU HAVE OPTIONS to apply for a pet care credit card.

Edith Daigle

Tech Caitlin and Dr. Dana at the Concord office were terrific- calm, gentle, and reassuring. Thank you for taking care of my dog's broken tooth!

Metasebia Woldemariam

Thank you for the excellent emergency care my dog received this weekend, at the same time numerous (28, the driver told me) rescue dogs were arriving and getting checked in. I was awed that you could take care of me and the other emergency pets so thoroughly and deeply touched by the fact that you are a gateway for rescued dogs from the south. My dog, btw, is almost back to normal and following the medical protocol you designed. I cannot thank you enough.

LG 78

The worst experience I've had at any vet clinic, I brought my cat to an emergency, they had no idea what what happening and seem to be asking me what I think the issue was, then decided to do lab work which could take for weeks and cost me hundreds of dollars, when I called back to see if I can do anything to improve my cats' condition, they finally decided to prescribe antibiotics, which may or may not help, then weeks later they stated lab results came back negative and they have no clue whats the issue, when I told them that's ridiculous they just dropped me in a loud hold music. Total waste of time and money, terrible service.

Meghan Bunker

Everyone I interacted with today was friendly and helpful. Dr. Herr was great. She was very thorough in gathering a history on our cat. The presumed diagnosis for my baby Herbie is unfortunate but Dr. Herr was compassionate and informative when explaining what she believes to be the problem.

James Okvist

Everyone seems to care about pet care. The staff is friendly yet professional. We have had nothing but excellent care at this facility.

Melissa M

Horrible service, High Prices. Bad experience my sister and I brought my cat to this vet and we were treated poorly not the first time. Numerous times over the years we had some ok times. Save yourself money and aggravation and go 2 minutes up the road to the Emergency Center of Manchester 24/7 Vet 10X Better environment.

Dawn Tipton

I have been using AVC for years. The staff is always so friendly and helpful even when they are dealing with a very difficult animal (Elmo). I always feel like they are acting in the best interest of the animals and not for the money. Thank you for all you do. After reading all of the negative reviews I wanted to edit mine. I am SHOCKED by these comments and have to wonder where they have come from....I have been using Dr. Kelloway an her team for years. They have always put my pet's best interest before the cost. One of my first few visits, the vet suggested an ultra sound and when she didn't find anything in the test...they waived the fee. As I mentioned above I had a difficult to deal with cat. Because this team cared, I had six additional years with him because they (the only vet out of a couple) diagnosed and treated him for diabetes. Dr. Kelloway even offered (for free) to come to my house to administer his medication twice a day while I was on my honeymoon, if I couldn't find anyone to care for him. I could go on and on about the things they have done for my furbabies. This is not an organization that is all about the $$$. Thank you again AVC for all you have done for my babies!!!!

Christy Collins

My husband brought our 3 year old cat to the vet today and they diagnosed our kitty with a blocked urithera. They wanted 2,114.00 to continue to work out our kitty. I was away on business so my husband had our two daughters and little boy with him very upset our kitty was so sick. Being so close to Christmas we don't have 2000+ to spend on care and where talking about having the cat put down baised on cost of treatment and nit wanting our ca to suffer. We did want to put our cat down so close to thebhokidays and didnt want to ypset our children so we were valling around trying to come up with 2000+.00 We called another vet to try and find an affordable way to save our cat. Once we fgot a hold of our reliable family vet to take our cat to my husband opted to leave and they told him the cat may die if we left adding to the dramatic situation really upsetting the kids. AWFUL and unprofessional. Needless to say our kitty is in good hands for less then a few hundred dollars and making a fantastic recovery. The vet we took our cat to said what they where charging should be illegal and I agree. If we only went with this vets opinion our cat would be dead right now. I would not recommend taking your vet to this facility. This is coming from a concerned pet owner. I have read other reviews where then there is a response from this facility saying they don't understand where these bad reviews are coming from. Well these complaints seem legitimate and deserved so perhaps the owner of this Establishment should evaluate there staff policies and prices. All lives matter and the catheter and tests and medicine needed to save our kitty where a tenth of the cost elsewhere. Do not go here unless you want a dramatic situation and to spend an exhorbent amount of money. No compassion.

M W

It was stressful to bring a sick dog in, so the excellent care he received yet again and the feedback provided by all was very welcome. Thank you ... and he's doing well now!

Ian LeStrange

Don't bring you pets to this death trap! Not only will they kill your companion animal, but they'll blame it on you when they do. Read the reviews from Brian and Kristina. They brought their cat to them and she was poorly treated and poorly diagnosed. Then because of it she subsequently died. And AVC saw fit to blame them for it rather than taking ownership for their own ineptitude. OF COURSE THEY DECLINED SERVICE! Dr Perry is an imbecile and had no idea what he was doing and he told them that. Why would any right minded pet owner ever trust someone like that to perform any tests on their pets? Everyone be warned. These people don't care about your pets. They just want your money and they clearly don't care at all about what they do. If you're shopping around for a vet with 24 hour service, there is one less than five minutes down the road. These people will kill your pets.

Cristin C

I cannot recommend Dr. Kelloway and team enough! The first time I met her was in 2010 when we had a vet emergency. After that, I transferred my cats and dogs from each of their vets and made AVC Manchester our vet of choice. Where to begin? They're accessible 24/7, are far more affordable than either vet I had been going to, and have all the tools on hand that most vets don't. We've had our host of health issues and Dr. Kelloway has always been extremely thoughtful and willing to research and suggest alternative therapies. She has been my miracle worker - most recently treating my cat for a severe ulceration in her eye, sparing me a visit to a $pecialist and not just suggesting the easy way out (removal), but giving a new course of treatment a try. Once again, she worked her magic! Going to AVC is like visiting family - my dogs have since passed, however, the care that they showed towards them and currently my cats is exceptional. For Dr. Kelloway, you can tell it isn't just a job - she genuinely cares for each animal. Lastly, I have always found that they will assist in triage over the phone to spare you a visit if they can determine it can wait - that to me says integrity, as they could just as easily say come in and charge for the visit. A good number to keep on hand in case of emergency!

Pam Smith

I love that Dr. KELLOWAY always takes time to listen and has a genuine interest in my cats well being. Dr. KELLOWAY provides affordable AND excellent care!! SHE provides the community with AFFORDABLE veterinary care which is highly NEEDED. I had a cat in the past that I brought to CAVES and they were charging me approximately $1500 every 6 hours and made me pay them every 6 hours before they would update me or do anything. It was awful. And the cat ended up needing to be put down because we ran out of money.

Beth Brow

We love how as owners we are listened too. We are never pushed to do unnecessary testing or extremely expensive treatments that a more conservative approach would resolve. Our dog is very challenging when in the vets office and we are never rushed, our dog is treated with a kind hand, calm voice, and lots of patience. We are always happy with AVC and the care we receive there

Paula Laflamme

EXCELLENT person out front. Remembers us and our dog every time we go there. Very friendly, prompt, efficient. EXCELLENT.

Kara Scheerhoorn

These guys were great! My cat had a very serious urethra blockage and i had no time to get him treated. I originally went to an animal hospital in Nashua and they were charging an amount that (short of robbing a bank) i did not have. A tech at that hospital mentioned that they might be able to help out, and did they ever! They worked with me to make sure they could save my cat's life and i could afford it. A surgery like that isn't cheap no matter what but they did it for $400 less then the other guys! And their service was impeccable. I recommend them to everyone now!

Kimm Lansing

Absolute worst place , NEEDS to be shut down. Brought my cat in for a wound they claimed he had a small infection (maybe she wasn't 100%) they ended up giving him a pain reliever shot, and sent us home with antibiotics and told me he'd be fine within a few days and not to worry..so I went home gave him his antibiotics like they told me to ..we got home at 8pm Saturday my cat was DEAD by 7am Sunday.. Brought him back and they have no idea why he died(bullshit) so I looked over his paperwork they gave me.. They said he was purring, they said they took his temperature (THEY NEVER DID) but they claim it was 101.2 . And also had a bunch of other things written that they said they did but didn't do!! So I decided to look up the shot they gave him and it says it shouldn't be mixed with ANY other meds but they had me go home and give him antibiotics .. I am 100% sure they killed him (slowly) this cat was only 4 and never had any medical problems not even a cold ever in his life! All and all I spent $200+ and they could care less, didn't even offer to get my money back. HORRIBLE. After telling people my story I have heard at least 10 horror stories of this place where at least 4 pets ended up deceased .. Please do not go here .. Drive 5 more mins up the road !

I brought my baby Squeakz to AVC @ 1am on April 12 2018. He was showing strange and not normal behavior for a kitten or himself. They reffered me to CareCredit because i didnt have the money for his ER visit. Which carecredit is a 27% intrest rate after 6months. I was very happy with the Vet and Vet Tech (Cheryl Faso & Kala S) They treated squeakz like their own lil baby and tried to figure out everything they could for me and for my lil man. I was a little perplexed/upset when the vet came out explaining that all of his screening were clear and they couldnt find exactly what was wrong with him expt that he doesnt seem to be able to comprehend what he is seeing. The vet informed me alot about problems kittens could have/get. Thankfully i took vettech @ my agricultural school because if i didnt i wouldnt know what the heck she was saying/explaining. I believe the price i was quoted was very high since i was sent home without knowing what exactly was wrong with him. I took their advice tho and am now giving him a new balanced kitten diet and his meds and also keeping him properly hydrated. Hes still showing very strange sighns and isnt seeming to get better but its only been a day. Overall i was happy with how profecinal and caring the ER staff was. I most likly wont be bringing my animal back here tho. Again i left not knowing what was wrong with my baby and for them just to stick him with needles and give him fluids it cost $452.53. The other thing i was a little mad about was that the vet told me if within 24hrs he turns for the worse i can bring him back free of charge. I called this morning April 13 2018 and the women said ONLY the check up is Free and they would quote me if he needs any work done. I feel like they just screwed me out of money but atleast i know now hes not going to die and hes on meds that will help him. I was also very unsettled by the comments the owner of the practice has been making on the comments, be careful what you comment because the owner will put all yoyr info and what happen to the animal out there. Which is actually illegal.

The staff here are nothing short of phenomenal. Another vet hospital quoted us 3700.00 to 4900.00 and this hospital was able to do the procedure much more reasonably. Dr. Kelloway and her staff were compassionate, kind and very accommodating.

This vet hospital needs to lose its credentials as an Emergency Vet ASAP. I carried my lifeless, 65 pound dog through the front door last month and was not greeted, not asked any questions, just told there was an 1.5 hour wait. Luckily, I brought my dog 1 minute down the street to Veterinary Emergency Center of NH where they wheeled him back via stretcher, diagnosed him with internal bleeding due to a ruptured spleen and saved his life with emergency surgery. Thank God I didn’t waste another second at AVC. Now I’m reading about all the lawsuits they are facing. SHUT THEM DOWN NOW PLEASE!

Great, caring doctors and staff.

Doesn't Matter

The staff was extremely friendly and very informative regarding the procedure they were going to perform on my pet.

I needed to go somewhere for my cat on a Sat and went there. They were great, love how the Dr. explained what was going on and was honest. She didn't try to imply that more was wrong and was honest about quoting the procedure needed. If needed again I would certainly go back again. Thank you!!!!

Don't let Deborah kelloway touch your animal. She is all over Wmur news 9 and in the union leader. There has been a hearing with the veterinarian State board. She will be held accountable for what she did to all these poor animals . Worst experience you could ever have please don't go to this place I brought my dog in for an appointment to have one tooth removed an I was assured would take care of him didn't Dr. Did it he died during the procedure (not from Anastasia ) then that Dr. Said to my husband and I "next time" I should seek a board certified Dr. Then they sent me an explanation/apology letter. They didn't even offer replacement cost or to pay for his cremation. If you love your dog don't go there. I see Dr. Kelloway likes to respond to all the bad reviews and wonders why there are so many and she said everyone has been complaining about the price she charges. Well I didn't say anything ever about the cost of any bill I paid it all in full. What I expected was the best possible care for my dog and what I received was the complete opposite. What I ended up with was a dead dog . Now this place is called advanced veterinary care AVC the name is very deceiving. They are not board certified . They only have a license. No special training. So don't let the name fool you. Please do your research. Don't let your pet be there next victim. Mine only went in to have one tooth removed and they couldn't do that without killing him how would anybody trust them with something major. I would love a response from Dr. Kelloway but I know that won't happen..

Wow! They did a fabulous job with my cat Rondo. She had been hospitalized for two nights and they worked around the clock to ensure her well-being. I called every 4 hours for her updates. Staff were so helpful, compassionate and supportive. Thank you so much and for all you do!

Took our little baby Dachshund puppy here last night at midnight due to him coughing and having trouble breathing. The girl at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. The Vet tech that came in to do his vitals was amazing and super sweet with him giving him treats and talking to us about what was going on with him & more. The Dr. we saw last night for him made sure we had no questions regarding what was going on with him even went above and beyond to educate us on some things regarding him since this is our first puppy. Puppies are prone to "Kennel cough" and that is exactly what he has. They gave us an antibiotic for him and we are going to start taking him there for all his future check ups and visits. Every member of the staff we met last night went above and beyond. Very pleased and thankful for all there hard work!!

Brought in our lethargic kitty at 11:30 PM and vet Amanda R cam in. She barely touched the cat to examine her, made her walk in the exam room and diagnosed arthritis in her hips. Despite our urging to do an ultrasound or x-ray of the abdomen, she just gave a morphine shot and told us to get her on a glucosamine supplement. We left very unsatisfied, but decided to wait out the night and go to our own vet on Monday. Our vet took x-rays and did an ultrasound and discovered the kitty was extremely constipated. They gave her an enema and things are looking up. Our vet had recently changed her food, and this caused the constipation. We will never use avc's services again, and our vet will take them off their emergency contacts.

Dr. Kelloway of the AVC is wonderful and very patient with my border collie mix, Mia who is normally ridiculous and so terrified at the vet she had to be fully sedated in the past. We met Dr. Kelloway last summer on ER visit due to fracture in Mia's paw. During several follow up visits, Mia's behavior improved and Dr. Kelloway offered to do her routine shots when she was due. I took her up on that this month and Dr. Kelloway & her tech her able to vaccinate Mia & do blood draw for heartworm test. For regular visits their prices are about same as normal vet. Obviously an ER visit is more.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place. They need to review their visit run down, as its lacking quality. Its a quick place to get your required shots, the wait was longer than the actual visit with the "Doctor" my wife was a vet technician and she thoroughly performed assistance for dog physicals and with her previous employer Westmore and Slappy in Georgia they would even include trimming your dogs nails at no additional cost. Its more like a conveyor belt environment than a warm place.

My dog died here last month. I won't say that the staff at AVC are lazy or uncaring. By report one of the office staff sat with my dog for 20 minutes just rubbing his head and comforting him while he was sad and in pain. I will also add that another local veterinarian's office is to blame for my dog being critically ill and needing to be at AVC to begin with. As has been stated in other reviews, the veterinarian on overnight was inexperienced and clearly over her head. While AVC holds itself out to the public that it provides advanced veterinary services and advanced diagnostics 24/7/365 including complicated surgeries, ultrasound, in-house blood work, CT scans, etc., it isn't the case. The overnight veterinarian kept saying she would try to maintain him overnight and then we could see what could be done for him in the morning. She thought he was septic, but she never did any blood work to confirm that. She didn't administer more or alternate antibiotics. She was confused by his symptoms when AVC publishes a sepsis management protocol right on their website. When I alerted her that my dog's oxygen level had dropped, she assumed it was the monitor malfunctioning and stayed working with another non-critical patient while my dog was actively crashing. My dog had already went into cardiac arrest once and his blood glucose level was low at that time. She stopped checking his blood glucose level until I asked her to check it again, but it was too late. His blood glucose level was too low and he went into cardiac arrest again. The overnight veterinarian made mistakes and my dog died, he never really had a chance. It is disappointing and disheartening to learn that the issue of not having advanced veterinary care 24/7/365 has already been brought to the owner's attention before through reviews, but instead of fixing the defects, she has been largely defensive. If your pet has non-life threatening injuries and you want them addressed at off hours because your regular vet isn't available, your pet will probably be ok. If your pet is critically ill and needs complicated surgeries, ultrasounds, sepsis management, CT scans, or in-house blood work. It may or it may not be a service that is available when you bring your animal there. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, the owner has a moral and ethical obligation to provide the services she is holding herself out to the public as providing. Otherwise, she is being deceptive. Where to start? First they never informed me that my dog was having signs of kidney failure, and less than a year later she died a very traumatic death FROM KIDNEY FAILURE. Next, my dog Mookie was very very sick. He was losing weight fast, vomiting, having diarrhea with blood in it, and not eating (over the course of one night). We brought him into the AVC immediately thinking it was a bowel obstruction, where they diagnosed him with high liver enzymes and sent us home with prescriptions for that. They ignored our concern with a bowel obstruction. Less than 12 hours later, our poor Mookie was throwing up feces. We brought him back to AVC since he was seen such a short time before and after hours and hours we finally got the diagnosis of a bowel obstruction. Now we had already been in for $1,200.00 from the previous visit, they also charged us ANOTHER ER fee, and offered the bowel obstruction surgery for almost $3,000.00 We had almost the full amount for the surgery but was a few hundred dollars short. They gave us the option to euthanize or to surrender. They wouldn't even let us pay the remainder of the few hundred dollars in payments. What kind of person who cares about a well being of an animal does that? Well we couldn't kill him, he was 3 and would be healthy after the surgery. We signed him over, but less than 24 hours later we were about to VOID the surrender and pay them the full amount of the surgery. We got him back and he wreaked of disgusting dirty wet dog. (Our dogs are always cleaned, and bathed, and we own a very clean home). His incision looked as if a 5 year old sewed him together also. After he healed, we gave it a good couple months and he still wasn't putting on any weight. Took him back in to find out he had HOOK WORMS! We also found out that he could have contracted them from his stay at AVC. We have never dealt with them at our home so we know it wasn't from us. They only treated him with a 3 day preventative. I called back yesterday 3/27/18 and after waiting an entire day for them to call me back, they called back with recommendations I could do?! This morning 3/28/18, I received an email saying they would no longer allow service to us. I called in question, and they said because of a Facebook review I had left (quite a while ago at that) saying I was not happy with their services. What a joke of a compassionate vet. Why is this practice still open with their lack of unprofessionalism, compassion, care for animals, and care for their client's owners? I completely understand why Dr. Kelloway has been brought to Court. I hope the judge can see through the eyes of these poor owners that have had their pets treated so badly and unfairly. Thank goodness for our VERY WONDERFUL regular vet, he has Mookie on the mend and actually cares about the well being of the animals that comes into the office. Please really take all these negative reviews into consideration before bringing your furbaby to AVC. Sincerely, the owner of Mookie, and Hailee (rest her beautiful soul) ***********In reply to "Dr. Kelloway" which I did not speak with when I called in earlier. I was not bragging that the help at my vet was fired, I mentioned that the issue with my vet was resolved and in no way was anything that occurred our fault and that proper repercussions were taken. SO please discontinue putting words into my mouth. NOR did we break their front door, as the wind was caught and the hinge broke. Get your facts right and stop lying. If you continue to slander me, I will be taking legal action. Also, you're welcome for the "liability" that has paid your establishment THOUSANDS.

Thank you for today. We are relieved about Jax condition and let the breeder know. Wow that was the first time we paid for service in the exam room. We love AVC! The quality of care and time spent discussing options. Again thank you! Jessica, Mike Jackson, Spenser

My last cat was treated here for several years before her sudden kidney failure. The tech and vets here at AVC gave her the care and compassion she needed at the time of her passing. My new cat just visited on Monday and I knew that she would recieve the care and understanding for her ailment. She had been sick with a URI for the last three months and nothing was working to clear it up. She had been seen at a different vet and wasn't getting the proper meds. One course of antibiotics was that was given to her was for a kitten, she is 5 years old and the dose wasn't nearly enough for her. AVC got it right the first time. Everyone here seems to really care about the comfort and well being of the pets brought to them and also for the pet parents. I feel this is the best Vet practice in the area and will continue to bring my pets here for as long as I have them.

We brought our fur baby to the emergency room, they were caring and compassionate of our feelings as well as our baby. Prompt attention, very friendly staff. We highly recommend to take your fur loves ones to be seeing.

Do not go here. They’re awful.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of everyone that has helped me take care of Angel. Mackenzie, Sarah, Charis, Dr. W, Dr. Faso and Dr. Herr were all empathetic and compassionate regarding Angel's emergency visits.

“A part of a healthy conscience is being able to confront consciencelessness. When you teach your daughter, explicitly or by passive rejection, that she must ignore her outrage, that she must be kind and accepting to the point of not defending herself or other people, that she must not rock the boat for any reason, you are NOT strengthening her prosocial sense, you are damaging it--and the first person she will stop protecting is herself.” ― Martha Stout, The Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless Versus the Rest of Us

I had to take my kitty to AVC a little over a week ago because dark purple bruises appeared all over his body out of nowhere within 12 hours. First of all, the facility was spotless and very welcoming. When we arrived the woman at the front desk was very helpful, the check in process was fast and easy and they got us into a room quite quickly. The wait to see a vet was a bit long but, our cat was not in any pain and a more severe emergency came in so they had to prioritize (if my animal had been the severe one I would want them to do the same so I did not mind). In any case when Dr. Beth Smith came to have a look at him she quickly had some thoughts as to what it may be and explained that she would have to do a blood test. When trying to draw blood he bled excessively which indicated he was not clotting properly, as Dr. Smith had predicted and was why she had the foresight not to take blood from his jugular, thank goodness. He had to stay overnight and we were not exactly sure what they were going to have to do to get him stable but Dr. Smith went through all of the possibilities and really took her time and was thorough which I appreciated as I was a bit overwhelmed. I called at 5 in the morning to check on him and was quickly able to speak to Dr. Smith on the phone and she once again was very thorough with everything they did and what her thoughts were going forward. The medications she gave him immediately helped and he was getting back to normal within two days and his bruises were completely gone within four days. I have now been back to get his blood checked twice and he is now at almost completely normal levels. Dr. Smith has also been extremely helpful with a plan going forward as he will likely need medication for the long term. In any case they took care of my baby and were extremely helpful and compassionate the whole time. As far as price goes they do not seem outrageously priced to me, after all they are an emergency vet and I felt that the prices were fair for the service I received. It did take a bit long for them to get the quotes together but, as I understand it they recently implemented a new system and overall it was an easy process. I will continue to bring him back there for check ups as I trust them and I found Dr. Smith to be very knowledgeable and the staff was great.
