Last month I had an emergency involving my pet rabbit at 5:30 pm( half hour before they closed) the receptionist asked me how fast I could get in and trusted me! When I arrived they immediately greeted me at the door and fixed my girl!! I didn’t think anything of it... This week I was just speaking to a vet tech and they had informed me that rabbits are “exotic” and most vets aren’t trained in their care so I since have gained some genuine respect and admiration for Arbor to take my “exotic” emergency and treat us like it was NBD!! I am grateful to have picked them for my animals!! Thank you for going above and beyond at the last minute!!

Arbor Vet Srvcs was wonderful. . I brought my 20 year old cat, Cleo, there and they helped me as I said goodbye to my wonderful friend. I didn't think there was anything that anyone could do to help, but they DID help. It was a very difficult time, but they were exceptional. They called me to make sure I was doing okay. A few days later and I received a sympathy card. They did everything they could to help at that difficult time. A year later, I brought my new kitten, Cookie, to them. They welcomed her with open arms and have provided all care for her from the age of 9 weeks to 19 months and counting. They are always understanding and helpful when I call for information as well. Thank God for Arbor Vets!!!

As a former vet tech, I know how difficult it can be to please pet owners. I am also picky about where I take my animals. Arbor Veterinary is awesome. They have great care and fair prices. As a multi-pet household, I appreciate them keeping costs down when possible. The vets don't jump to the most costly options for diagnosis and treatment. They present several options for you to consider. I agree with another reviewer that I miss Craig Williams, but have found the two other vets to be compassionate and caring also. The staff is great. No major turnover in staff, so they must be treated well. The facility is clean and bright. My dogs are always happy to go there. Kudos to the vets and staff.

They provide treatment options without forcing anything on you and seem to truly care about the health of my dogs.

Service is exceptional! I've brought my cats for over 10 years. I recently adopted a kitten and have brought her many times for stomach issues, we tried many treatments for her issue but she didn't get better. I brought my kitten in yesterday for a spay and hernia repair. They also checked her stomach for any blockage. She recovered great and is now happy at home. The updates I got about her progress were great.

The folks are Arbor Vet are the best. They have taken exceptional care of all of my pets (cats and dogs) for years. Their rates are extremely reasonable and they sincerely care about your furry family members. Follow-up calls are made to see how your pet is doing after all any procedure, big or small. All questions are answered clearly and home care instructions are simple and printed out for you. They have my highest admiration and recommendation. I used to work here, they are a tremendous team of incredibly caring people that practice great/sound medicine - it's not all about money - it's about the care - I do not own a dog that needs much right now other than routine exams/vaccines/preventatives, but because I worked there - I saw first hand - they try the least invasive (and often least expensive) prior to what some other places would immediately go to - the most. I no longer work with animals (moved to the human side) - and I choose to bring my Lab there - that should say volumes! I rarely give 5 stars but they certainly warrant it!

Our dog, Franci, has had such good care that I cannot recommend Arbor Vets highly enough. Franci is a little shy and was scared off by another vet in Barrington. Arbor was recommended to us by a long-time friend. So, we jumped at the chance and have never looked back. She is treated lovingly and caringly. And, unlike her previous vet, their record keeping is impeccable. Franci actually wags her tail when we drive up to the building. So this is a recommendation from both us and Franci.

Best vet ever. I love this place they take the best care of any animal I bring in they don't try to nickel and dime you and will help you out in any situation. I wouldn't ever consider changing vets. I've brought my dog into vets where he wants nothing but out the door and this vet you can't get him to leave. The animal will always tell you and he hasn't been wrong yet .

I had been coming to Arbor for years and I think the doctor is great but I made an appointment to bring my kitten in for her 2nd set of shots 3 weeks in advance. I called the office the Friday before because I couldn't remember if my appointment was on Tuesday (today) or Thursday the 24th so I could make arrangements with my job. The woman who answered the phone told me that it was definitely Tuesday (I have my husband as a witness because I had the phone on bluetooth). As I'm driving in this morning for the appointment I get a text message to confirm my appointment for Thursday

My husband and I arrived with our two Cairn Terriers way ahead of our appointment time. It was our first visit and we were shown into an exam room immediately, even though we were early. The staff is terrific, friendly and very knowledgable. The doctor explained things in a way we understood and offered options and details for needed treatments. Can't tell you how disappointing Arbor Vet has been since the original owner has sold it, I had my pets under the care of Dr. Williams since the 1980's. Not the same at all, no consistency of care , prices have nearly doubled, most of the staff has left and the infrastructure is totally chaotic with a new "system". In my opinion they have lost all credibility and I have no faith in them, unfortunately I'm now in search of a new vet.

Arbor vet is neither a positive place to do business with, nor are they professional. We continued working with them because of our dog's health issues last year, and because they were discounting very expensive medication that our dog needed to survive. In late 2017 our dog started having some health issues. During one of our visits, the veterinarian said she was going to clean our dog's wound. She took her to another room, and did 2 expensive tests without our consent. I would assume we would have at least been asked, and didn't find it appropriate for them to take such actions. To top that off, we were told that we would get the results the following day, but never received a call, and had to call them a several times to get the results. After all this, we decided to continue treatment there because the test that they performed did turn out to be necessary in finding her condition. So I changed my review based on that with a more favorable rating. The test showed that she had something called blastomycosis, that needed immediate treatment. We continued with regular visits, and doing everything we could, including bringing up things that we had researched, to verify with the vet. One of the vets there, at best could be described as apathetic. Fortunately, there was another vet there that we liked going to, so we made sure to set up all of our appointments with her. Unfortunately, we continued going there for over the next year because we had little choice due to our dog's condition, and the fact that one vet there at least seemed sympathetic and helpful, and was willing to talk to a leading researcher that we found of our dogs disease. Just to give you an idea of how serious this issue was, the first month that our dog had this disease, she had lameness, large wounds that were oosing blood, pneumonia, could not eat, nor go to the bathroom on her own. Even our vet admitted that we kept her alive. We physically had to help her go to the bathroom, and had to force feed her liquid foods, just to get her to get something down so she could take her medicine and survive. We couldn't afford emergency care, it was bad enough how much it was costing as the initial month. Unfortunately, it cost us close to $10,000 over the next year, not to mention a couple big downfalls, including her losing her left eye. Despite spending around $10,000 in 2018 they constantly acted like we were imposing on them if we needed a follow-up visit to check our dog's condition. On a few occasions we actually had to argue with them about whether or not it would be considered a follow-up visit, which costs less. They regularly tried charging us the full amount until the vet pointed out that it was for the same condition and was a recheck visit. They wanted to squeeze every dime out of us, despite the fact that they were already making an average of $500-$1,000 per month from us. Fortunately for us, one of the veterinarian's there seemed to spend more time researching than others, and was very helpful, and uncharacteristically caring with our dog's needs, compared to the rest of the staff. Early in 2019, we were told she was no longer there, and wouldn't be coming back. Though, when we went to visit this week, they let us know she would be there on a limited schedule one day per week. She has since moved to working at another practice, and we are going to go there next time our dog needs care. Fortunately, she's okay, but the only thing the Arbor Vet did was provide the medicine we needed. In fact, we even mailed the test ourselves to a lab. We don't recommend this place, and I suggest you take your dog elsewhere if you care about your pet, or you care about the ability to consent to testing. Fortunately, our dog is healthy, and still with us. She went through a terrible year in 2018, and 2019 has been so much better. Ultimately, we are grateful she is alive, we are grateful for the one vet that was there, and wish this experience could have been different.

Having met several employees outside of the clinic, I was impressed at how genuinely nice & sincere they are. After several visits with Craig Williams, DVM, he told me that he was focusing on larger animals (Farm animals, livestock, horses, etc...) and, was introduced to another Vet in the practice. I was surprised when I had a bad 'visit' with my dog & cat? The Vet was rude, abrupt, condescending & negatively opinionated. I assumed that she was having a bad day, as the rest of the staff remained wonderful, considerate, very friendly yet professional and extremely pet focused. I went back again, and, had an identical experience with this other Vet- it turns out that the Vet is the problem, not my dog. Please note: pricing for shots & services are extremely reasonable, well trained, professional staff remains wonderful, the offices are clean & well organized, - clearly, the primary partner of this clinic does a fabulous job of getting & retaining wonderful staff, runs a tight ship, keeps the property & office maintained, while keeping morale high. They are very considerate of appointments and your time- flexible, even when they are very busy. (Priceless, when your timing is tight!) However, the other vet is a detriment to the business. Dismissive of owners, doesn't like animals, condescending, doesn't want owners input and otherwise negatively focused- even my dog felt threatened by this person. She wouldn't even get out of the car, has become hyper vigilant about the office- she remembered NOT Liking the person who treated her. I see no benefit to putting my 85Lb American Bulldog into a full blown panic attack to see the vet- it is't worth it. Sadly, I like everyone & everything about ArborVet -other than the Vet treating my animals-, so, I'm going to have to find another one. It's like loving everything about a restaurant-except the food. If I, or even- just my dog- could tolerate the Vet, I would stay (Low prices, GREAT staff, clean operation), but, I can't take my dogs extreme upset, and, the Vets almost nasty comments about her. So, if Dr. Williams is your vet- I strongly recommend this clinic. However, if you don't own a horse, or, livestock- try it. There is so much to recommend it, but, if you and/or your pet don't click with the other Vet- you'll be in the same position I am- looking for another one, after several years of happiness.

I was accustomed to Veterinarians who overtreat and overcharge but did not provide an "over" level of care. Then I found Arbor. The first time I brought my Golden in for an exam and the doctor said he didn't need this vaccine yet and it wasn't time for this vaccine yet, I almost fell on the floor. The fact that this clinic gave me a choice and didn't just arbitrarily throw in the "kitchen sink" was amazing to me. I have a dog and two cats and they treat me like my life and my pocket book matter in this equation without sacrificing the care and love that my pets deserve. That means I will always trust them.
