I’m seeing so many low reviews and people saying the staff isn’t friendly. Here’s my experience. AMAZING! Around 7 pm tonight my puppy thought he was Superman and decided to jump through the glass door window and cut himself bad. I’m horrible with cuts! I only looked once. A friend referred us to this vet as they are open 24.7 right away they took us in the back told us an estimate and said he was in good hands. Beyond nice and so caring and respectful! Apparently dogs jumping through glass is a thing! Anyways he’s getting stitched up and I came home to put my three kids who are sick to bed (I didn’t wanna leave him

Great experiences for primary and emergency care for my dog. They are friendly, informative, up-front, and took great care of my dog while he was admitted overnight for an emergency stay. The doctors were prompt and kept us informed at all times. I can't thank them enough for taking care of my baby!

Seeing many bad reviews for the EMERGENCY hospital which is not the same as the normal vet hospital. We transferred from a vet in Bedford which was more expensive. Had our dog go to the ER numerous times and we were back in within 24 hours they didn't even charge us the visit just the meds. We go to the regular vet every year and never have issues. They are great and handle our anxious, non-dog friendly dog very well. Which is difficult with some vets. We'll call from the parking lot and they'll put us right into a room, they are well mannered and work great with us on payment schedules and such.

It was my first experience there, had to wait about an hour and a half to be seen. Had a very sick guinea pig on my hands. While I know guinea pigs and small animals hide their illnesses, I was very clear with symptoms and signs of my boy being sick. Was told he was fine and just needed a little attention. Doctor was nice enough; spent probably 5 minutes total with us and I paid about $150 to sit in a waiting room/a topical medication for an “eye infection”. My boy passed away the next day. No one ever called to follow up with me and ask how he was doing. This place lacks compassion and was my last resort on a weekend. Highly do not recommend. Do not call me. You won’t get my business ever again.

Do not bring your dog here. I have four dogs and have been coming here for over 15 years. This place has gone down hill, people working here are not professional nor do they know what they are doing. I brought my dog in emergency because her breathing was not right. The doctor that examined her I had never met. She said my dog was fine, reluctantly I brought her home. I was up with her all night, her breathing got worse, and she was foaming from her mouth. I brought her back in the next day, I had to wait in the emergency area over an hour with my dog. I finally got up and said can’t you see my dog is having a difficult time breathing. They finally took her in. Another doctor which I had never seen before looked at my dog and said she is definitely having a difficult time breathing. I was really upset, because the vet the night before said she was fine. An X-ray was taken and it was discovered she had air surrounding her lungs. They said the air has to be extracted. I said I will do anything for my dog whatever is needed. They said it would take about an hour. I said I was going to run home which was about 20 minutes away. No sooner I got in my house a frantic tech assistant called me on my phone saying my dog went into cardiac arrest and if I wanted them to work on her. I said yes of course do everything you can. Ten minutes later they said she was dead! I could not believe what I was hearing. I immediately drove back and wanted answers. They were all acting strange. They had no answers and they were so cold. My dog was not even 7 years old. The doctors at this hospital are responsible for my dogs death. They do not know what they are doing. The doctors are incompetent. I still have not gotten over her death. How can two emergency doctors have two different diagnosis in a span of 10 hours. Please do not bring your dog here. You are the correct facility. I know exactly where my dog died. Do not cover up for your facility by letting people think I am confused about where I brought my dog for medical attention. Stop the lies.

UPDATE. After getting a response from at AHN I called their office to go over this. I have already been denied reimbursement so I was not expecting to receive anything by posting this review or speaking to them. After talking with someone, I was given such responses as "wouldn't it be nice if cats told us exactly what was wrong?" and "if only we had a magic crystal ball" and "would you bring a car back to a dealership for a refund after four years?".... As though I was calling them for a refund.. They told me to call, and I already told them I knew there's a statute of limitations on terrible service. Granted, I did not expect her to care. But hey, at least the person who told me to kill my cat is no longer employed there. Works for me! But I'll still never deal with this awful place. ORIGINAL REVIEW... A few years back my cat stopped eating or using his litter box. After a day or so of this not changing I decided to bring him to AHN. He was looked at and I was told that they had to keep him in order to figure out what was wrong. Two days later I was able to make an appointment to see him. They told me he had an xray which, like many other misc expenses, I was not told was happening. He had a blockage in his stomach but they told me they had 'no idea' what was wrong. I left and waited on an update. That night, around 1am, I received a call. I was told my cat was in critical condition and I had the choice of a $5000 surgery or putting him down. I don't have a lot of money. I sat up until about 3am judging myself on whether I would bankrupt myself to spare my cat's life. Finally, my girlfriend and I came to the decision to put him down. I cried for about 30 minutes, and finally stopped for long enough to call AHN back and give them the go-ahead to put him down. When I called, a receptionist picked up. When I gave her my info and told her what was going on, she told me "wait, he's improving.. what are they talking about? I'll be right back." After waiting on hold for what seemed like forever I spoke to the original worker and she told me he got better and they found out what was wrong. I went down, picked him up in the middle of the night, and received my total bill. Over $3,000. I had to pull out a line of credit with a service they are all too eager to recommend, CareCredit. So after all this, what did I receive from them that got him back to normal? A $30 tube of laxatives. He was eating the underside of an ottoman and a ball of cotton was in his stomach. A day of giving him laxatives cured this issue that they made me ponder killing him over. A $30 tube. That I was now paying a loan for. After a long stretch of payments I had run my savings dry. I missed two payments so I could afford rent. I had about $1100 left on the loan and I was starting to get collection notices. I drove down to AHN and told a worker my story. I requested that they just forgive the remaining loan in good-faith for upcharging me 10,000% for a tube of laxatives. Despite the fact that it was the middle of the day I was told there was no management in the building. They did not give me any resources to bring this to someone higher. I called multiple times and was finally told by, go figure, the same worker that treated my cat originally, that they wouldn't assist me. I sold many of my belongings to avoid any other collections and finally paid it off recently. This was originally posted on 7/18/19 but I removed it due to the update causing the review to not show. This is a replacement, not a duplication. And I am not mistaking AHN with another practice.

Always very good service. Can't be any better. Convenient location and great staff.

This place is SHADY. I don't suggest going here unless you have nothing else in a 100-mile radius. My girlfriend brought our cat there and at the end of the appt the doctor told her one amount/breakdown for the bill and the person at the front desk told her another, higher amount when she went to check out. When she asked for a printout of this new bill the woman said she couldn't do that since her system wasn't working. She refused to pay without a printed breakdown of what changed in the 30 seconds it took to walk to the front desk, and she asked to speak with a manager. The woman told her "please, the manager will be mad at me.".... So she told her that she needs to talk one about this. The woman left and didn't return. After about 15 minutes of waiting, my girlfriend left. Trust the other reviews of this place. I don't know how they stay in business tbh. WE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE. Also they responded to this but anyone notice how all of their responses boil down to "sorry that happened but it's not our fault.".? That's how you know they care about resolving things. Telling you the shady stuff they do is partially your fault.

Went there for an emergency, with one of my cats, Upon arrival from home, after being out for a couple hours, Squirt, the youngest of my 5 cats, was bleeding heaviley from his mouth and wheezing for breath, from some obvious internal injury, We my friend and I, sat there for over an hour the cat was in oxygen, while I made payment arrangements with a relative (Since I only had $180.00 cash on me, at the time). While waiting for the phone call back, I could hear my cat crying, weather it was in pain, due to his injury, or the fact that the cat was in a cage without having any contact with me, in a strange inviroment, I couldn't take much more of it.Just when I had enough, the "assistant" came back in, asking if we received a call about payment arrangments, so they could x-ray my cat, because "he has some obvious trauma"! My friend, who came with me, obviously upset, stated that if this is about money, that he would have just put the rest on his credit card and why hadn't the cat received any care as of yet?! There explaination was, they were waiting on payment conformation, first. To add insult to the injury,They thought bringing the "manager" in to resolve the situation,(simply an intimidation factor) to take care of any conflict........Damage Done! If I, or my friend walked into any Hospital in Nashua bleeding profusisly from a head wound, the last thing (I'd hope) they would do (as a matter of fact, I know that they wouldn't do) is wait for payment arrangments, before you'd bleed to death! WHY IS MY CAT ANY DIFFERENT! Took Squirt to someone who really cares about care and not the almighty dollar! NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN!

My cat was having trouble urinating and rapidly got more sick. Turned out he had kidney stones. The staff were wonderful working with me through our options, treating him, communicating with me frequently through treatment and following up after.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! I had to give 1 star so I could post. I have had to use this animal hospital 3 times due to night time emergencies and all 3 times they were horrible! 1st time - my dog (puppy) ate a poisonous mushroom and needed his stomach pumped. They called the next day and told me he was ready to be picked up - he looked horrible when i got there but they assured me he was fine. Had to bring him back within 4 hours because he still very sick - they said they were understaffed the night before and did not have time to properly monitor him! 2nd time - my cat had urinary crystals and was in severe pain. Brought him in and the vet told me she was concerned because he had a severe heart murmur and she didn't think he would survive surgery. I asked that he be given a pain med to relieve his discomfort while i called family to come down to say their goodbyes to him. Surprise! as soon as they gave him the meds, he was able to relax enough to pass the crystals, and my normal vet said his heart murmur was not severe and he most certainly would have done fine had he required surgery. 3rd time - my 14.5 year old dog was dying and in pain. We had to bring him in because our normal vet was closed. The vet kept insisting he was fine and all we needed to do was give him more pain meds. Our dog was in pain, shivering, not eating and not moving. She would not listen to us until I finally yelled at her about his quality of life. She became nasty, told us how the procedure would be performed and left the room. The bedside manner from almost everyone involved in this painful process was horrible, very cold and uncaring.

Love it here ,they were so awsome when my baby had to be put down, kind and very caring people.

It has become clear to me that this facility has lost its most compassionate and kind employees. In my last visits with both my cat and dog, I have felt rushed, and not well cared for. I have experienced uncomfortable interactions with the front desk girls, who are lovely, but it was clear that they we’re being reprimanded by someone on the other end of the phone, (which was ringing off the hook because it seemed as though they were understaffed) when it seemed like they were doing their jobs just as good as they could have been. Outside looking in, it seems like the employees are not happy, which makes sense why it’s a ghost town there now. I used to bring my dog to a special technician who is no longer an employee there which makes me sad to know. I understand people move on, but the turnover rate of this facility is higher than any other place I’ve seen, and it’s just so clear the staff is very unhappy. I hope management fixes itself soon, because this place had good potential, but it’s very clear the potential is not seen in its wonderful staff.

I received a “reminder” for my pets vaccine yesterday (11/18) in the mail. The date they were supposed to get their next vaccine was October 24th 2918. Now I have to restart the rabies series and I am BEYOND pissed. I relied on this practice to remind me about my pets vaccines. This feels like a scam for more money if you ask me. Who in their right mind sends a “reminder” a MONTH LATER!?

They play on your feelings to get more $$ out of you instead of just doing what is best for the animal.

I really want to give them 5 stars, but I'm giving 4 because of how pricey they are. The reason I want to give them 5 is that that are so friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make it a pleasant experience. And the place is beautiful. I know that sounds crazy to say about a vet, but it's so nice inside that you almost forget your in a veterinarian hospital. I also want to say that there are some really bad reviews posted here, and they seem almost a little TOO bad in my opinion. I'm not saying they're fake, but... This is a good place.

Amazing!! Thank you for being so kind!

I took my cat to the emergency room due to him not eating, and having a string hanging out his rear that needed to be looked at. My cat was abandoned and suffered a bullet wound taking skin off his back before he came to me and as a result is naturally skittish and aggressive when away from his home territory and when he smells other cats. In other words, he's a cat who gets cranky when scared. I explained this to them, and told them he had been traumatized and shot and they should be careful. The vet we saw was clearly terrified of him and gave him only a cursory examination. I heard numerous times how bad he was as a patient, and I finally gave permission to sedate him simply so he would be more comfortable. I was not impressed with their treatment of him or how they were with me in this initial visit. He ended up having to spend the night and when I called for updates I continued to be told how "difficult" he is. I understand my cat is not the easiest to handle, but he was scared and they were not compassionate at all in their treatment of him. The last straw for me was when I arrived to take him home the next day only to find they had left him in the carrier on a urine soaked pad because no one wanted to reach into his carrier and handle him to replace it. He had to spend the whole ride home uncomfortably perched in order to not have to sit in urine. While I can appreciate some animals require more care in handling than others, all animals deserve compassionate care and a treatment team with basic understanding of cat behavior. This place does not and I will never take any of my animals here again. After his visit to this hospital he was so traumatized that any vet visits are now extremely difficult and he can no longer be boarded. As the pet parent of a very sweet but traumatized cat, I am appalled the staff here traumatized him further and I will never ever recommend this hospital.

Don't take your pet there. My dog has seizures and they will not continue the prescription. They want more money (their excuse is blood work) When I explained to them that I just don't have the money this month due to unforeseen expenses.(car broke down) the staff and DR Williams (who should not even be a vet) talked down to me like I was the lowest person on earth, and telling me about how I should manage my money better. It didn't matter that my dog is going to suffer because she does not have her prescription, but because I have to make a choice of either not fixing my car and lose my job so that THEY COULD HAVE THIEAR PRECIOUS MONEY (blood work would not have made a difference and most blood work would have only cost around 100 dollars not 400 ) I will be filing a malpractice suit against the hospital and Dr, Williamson UP DATED 30 July 2018 My cat died in her sleep when I took her over there I was told to pay $235.00 when I told them that I cant afford that they told me to throw her in the dumpster. I ended up taking her to the other animal hospital ( by NASHUA PD) I told them what they told me Dont take your animal there If an office Manager tells you this then its most likely that they take you money and tell you that they will cremate them humanly and probably do put them in the dumpster..

I am seeing the bad reviews and have to wonder if they are talking about a different Animal Hospital. My experience with Animal Hospital of Nashua on 168 Main Dunstable Road was without a doubt outstanding! You may think after what I tell you that I am an unfit pet owner but believe me i am not. Kittens are into everything they can be. My kitten got into my clothes dryer when I left the room to get my clothes out of the washer. Clothes in, turned on and about half an hour later I heard a noise like when sneakers are being dried. My heart sank as I remembered all the times I saw him hop in and possibly he had without me seeing him this time. I ran to the dryer to find my lifeless kitten not breathing inside the dryer. I immediately immersed his body in cool water and pumped his chest and miraculously he started breathing. I took him to Animal Hospital of Nashua and After this experience they will be the only one I go to. We all felt there wasn't much chance for him to survive but started IV for dehydration, medicine for possible brain swelling and pain meds immediately anyway. They kept me updated at every change and sent me pictures of him when he walked, when he purred again and when he just wanted and was ready to come home. Yes there were X-rays and blood tests but none that were not necessary for this situation. They worked with me on costs and helped me get Care Credit which I knew nothing about and I believe my final cost is close to half what other places would charge. Please, no matter what you think of me, leave no doors open when it does not have your full attention ! We were lucky!!! He has almost all his eyesight back and his burnt ears are healing. Thank you so much everyone at the Animal Hospital of Nashua.

Emergency vet- Please don’t bring your babies here:( there are plenty other places around. My dog started (what sounded like) choking/inhaling almost like he had something lodged in his throat so I brought him to the nearest emergency vet. The ladies at the front desk were nice, the nurse I spoke to was very sweet, the vet, DR Cassista was the most horrible human being I’ve ever met in my entire life. This woman is so cold, rude, and aggressive. The heartless woman Was aggressive from the start and was handling my 75 pound baby who doesn’t feel well, scared of where he is very roughly. From the moment she walked in she was extremely rude to my boyfriend and i who are simply there to ensure our first baby was safe and okay. Just a few examples out of the many.. He’s scared of the stethoscope and didn’t want to be near it. My boyfriend was holding him and our dog wiggled to get away from her. This seemed to frustrate her as she looked at my boyfriend and questioned him asking if he was physically able to control the dog. (THE WAY she asked this was just so rude) After she was finished he let go and he ran over to me because he was scared and wanted him mom. She said NO DONT LET HIM! I asked why and she informed me of our poor training of teaching him how to retreat and how that’s bad but “that’s on you”. ( he’s a great dog.. just scared ) at this point I’m getting frustrated from being talked down to so many times because like I said.. a few examples out of the many. She asked to see the video I had after she rudely told me she didn’t want to see it initially. After watching a second of it she said it was kennel cough. Wondering what I should do with a contagious dog and a new puppy at home (should I separate them? Is it okay for them to be around each other, etc) she simply said, rudely, “get a vet.” And lectured me about how we should have one and telling me why we need one. (This is my second rodeo. We got her Sunday and her vet apt was Friday (before knowing she was sick. ) brushed it off.. I asked if she could also check his throat for me. She starred at me silently with a blank stair and eyes wide open making me feel like I asked something horribly wrong. I got frustrated with her and told her I came here because I’m worried and I just want to make sure! She didn’t like this and grabbed his leash and proceeded to say you want to check his throat? I’ll need to take him and as she’s pulling him out of the room.. harness slipping up his back because she’s literally PULLING my sick and scared dog I grabbed the leash from her and said I wouldn’t let my baby go anywhere with her. I stormed out of the room in tears, absolutely in shock over what had just went on within the 5 or so minutes of being in that room, the emotional beating this woman gave to two innocent people. My boyfriend who is always calm and respectful was out raged telling the woman at the front desk how horrible she was and that she has zero people or animal skills. I asked if this is normal behavior because I was shocked a woman this harsh could be in the profession that she is. I called his normal vet and made sure the medicine and dosage were both correct because I truly did not trust her. I wish I read some reviews before going here but we were scared something was wrong with him and went to the nearest vet. What a horrible, horrible ending to a very scary day.

I go because it has late hours which is great since I don't have to take time off work. Thus, it gets 2 star. They pick at every little thing and tries too hard to push for procedures that my pet doesn't really need. They make me feel like i'm a terrible owner if I don't do all those procedures that they recommend. The vet doesn't spend too much time on your pet either (considering how much I have to pay for a check up). Overall, this place has great hours but are money oriented.

Brandon Bachand

My dog was hit by a car and had a gash right near her abdomen that was bleeding pretty good , we only took her here because every other vet service was closed near me. First of all , if you cannot pay up front they will refuse service. They still opted to treat our dog even though we could not come up with the $1000 up front , multiple techs came out with different stories. One said she had a life-threatening condition and the other said she was up and walking wagging her tail. They said we could come back and pick her up in 1 hour after she was off her anesthesia, 2 hours later I'm still waiting for my dog , the doctor on duty was very rude even in front of other customers saying how she's only doing it for the dog and that we didn't even have enough to save her. This whole staff besides 1 tech was absolutely rude to us , they are only worried about making money and don't care at all about your pet. Please people go somewhere else , they don't even take your pets condition seriously.

I can't speak for the Nashua office, I go to the Amherst one and Dr Bishop and the wonderful staff are aces in my book. I have a 10 1/2 year old GSD and we are encouraged by the staff to bring him every couple months (I think they just want to see our Attikis

The staff is very cold. Brought my puppy in for seizures. This was a horrific experience for me and my family. They were so cold and condescending. Instead of comforting and reassuring. Do NOT recommend this place.

I’ve taken my dog Oliver to this hospital for a couple of years now. Staff is always caring and prompt towards me and Oliver’s needs. They take the time to explain things thoroughly and always check in after a few days from Oliver’s visit. Staff has also always been prompt with his prescription refills. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Nashua. They’ll take good care of your fur baby.

Spent 2 hours explaining to me my cat had "cat asthma". She had congestive heart failure. I had to bring her home and she suffered until I could take her to a more experienced staff the following day. My cat suffered for 12 hours because of the complete disregard for animal well being versus the money they wanted from a diagnosis of cat asthma. I am appalled by the staffs behavior. Did you know the walls are so thin you can hear through them? I love being called a b****. Thank you to the Nashua Animal Hospital staff. Your absolutely outstanding I promise I will never forget.

100% do not recommend anyone use this emergency service, especially if it’s by a Doctor Williams. He was extremely rude, unprofessional and insensitive.

Extremely expensive!! Tried to give me amoxicillin for $50, had them write a Rx for me which was only $12 at Walgreens. Trying to get your pets records to you is a joke, god forbid you ever want to switch to a new vet. Refer to your pets as "property". Do not go here!

Took my. French bulldog for his distemper and rabies shots 9am.10 hours later he died.due to histamine poisoning he was not suffering any illnesses when he went in go figure. They still charged 1300 bucks for the service.death was free.plus we still have to fork out another 250 bucks for his remains .Not the best weekend. Still got one dog left .

My dog has an enlarged prostate and needs to be neutered. we had it scheduled for today 2 weeks ago. Today they didn't have him on file and quoted me $565 To neuter him. hes a 60pound husky pit mix. I've been quoted $120 in merrimack and I thought that was expensive. I laughed at them and hung up. they had me scheduled today for only a followup...an $85 follow up. .. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. 7 years ago we went here and they held my dog until I could pay their exhuberated fee...WITHHELD MY DOG for a week. I haven't been to a vet since. this was an emergency and again...I will NEVER come back to this place.

I am so pleased with Dr. Gramlich at Animal Hospital of Nashua and the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. My boxer Tyson has Cushings and the were quick to figure out what was wrong with him and to treat the problem. I left our vet here in town and started going to them about 7 years ago and could not be happier that I did so. I feel so good leaving Tyson there for his day tests knowing he is getting the same love and care we give him at home. They added years to his life finding what was wrong with him and for that i thank them from the bottom of my heart. I recommend them to all my friends and family. Reading some of the other reviews I see people talk about the cost but I say u get what you pay for. Thank you Animal Hospital of Nashua for all your help with my big goof Tyson!!

Gage Armand

Super expensive never going here again. Come to find out my mom takes her dog across town for half the price

Bill Tilbury

This has got to be the WORST animal hospital I have ever been to. Besides the fact that they are VERY expensive (compare their prices to others.. you'll be surprised how much more your paying for the same vaccines and same lab tests) they do not care about the pets. I brought my lab Sam there in the beginning of the year and boy was that a mistake. The Doctor was very quick and to the point. I guess there is no time to get to know the patients when you have to move on to the next patient. Get em in and get em out should be their motto. Not only did the doctor rush and kept forgetting Sam's name but couldn't keep his gender straight. The doctor kept saying "she is" and "her weight..." I know he was neutered but he is still a male. I think part of the problem is that when you go to the Animal Hospital of Nashua you have a hospital but not a doctor. They have so many doctors there and they keep changing. That may not bother some but it bothers me. I want my pets veterinarian to know them and know their medical issues. A friend of mine recommended Banfield but wasn't thrilled about bringing my dogs through a Pet Smart where they are exposed to whatever the other dogs there have (kennel cough, dog flu, etc). After hesitation I brought my other lab Chloe there and boy what a difference. The doctor there had already reviewed Chloe's medical history and seemed very familiar with her even thought they never met. She needed the same vaccines and bloodwork that Sam needed and boy what a price difference. Both hospitals use the same vaccine and same lab for the bloodwork and poop analysis but what a difference in cost. I wish there was a VCA hospital in the area as I have had the best care there but until they open one here Banfield will do.

So my dog was dizzy and lethargic so we rushed her to the 24 hr services. Turns out she had canine flu. I liked that they were open all night, but the cost was ridiculous. They ran so many tests adding up to over $800 (and all they ended up doing was laying her on an ice pack to bring her fever down). They dont even offer any type of payment plans or anything. Either you pay right then and there or they refuse care. They didnt really explain any side effects from her medication or what to do if she gets worse or anything like that. They handed us a paper with a bland diet, a bottle with three pills in it and sent us on our way. I don't blame the vet that was there because she was very kind and polite. However, the clinic itself seemed very money oriented. I guess they figure if you love your pet enough to drive in the middle of the night, you'd pay whatever you had to.

Noah Rohrer

Stopped in for an urgent care visit when our kitty had a suspected emergency. We and our pet were treated with respect and given a full estimate of expected charges, and were given great care. Thanks to Dr Williams and the whole team here!

The staff here doesn’t seem to have a love for you or your pets as one would imagine. I was extremely disappointed on how my pet was handled and the manner at which I was addressed. The staff was very rude and unprofessional. I was very persistent with wanting to take my baby else where and I was told to wait, after 45 minutes I had enough. The doctor addressed me with complete disrespect and made it seem like I didn’t care enough for my pet, in wanting to take him home. I wish I would have gone somewhere else from the start.

My male cat Marcus had difficulty urinating and I was given an incorrect diagnosis from another local veterinarian as simply a UTI that required medication only to resolve. My cat was not improving at all and I decided to bring the cat to this Animal Hospital. I have never regretted that decision as it turned out my cat had 13 stones in his bladder that were removed successfully by Dr Jung and her staff. As of this writing Marcus is doing well and is comfortable. My special thanks to Dr Palmer who kept Marcus alive during this period when his survival was in question. They are focused on what is only medically necessary and not just profit. They are committed to achieving a positive outcome.Every staff member was professional from Dani, and James and Sarah and many others I have left out.. I do not regret my decision at all...And neither will you when your pet suffers a possible life threatening emergency as my case. The Animal Hospital of Nashua is the place to go..Sincerely, James Banow

I took my dog Tubbs here over the NYE weekend. We will not be going back with either of our dogs. He was admitted for a foreign body and they consistently were trying to push surgery. We declined and they gave him fluids to see if he would pass it on his own. He did and in the morning they then told us that he now had something in his stomach, which he didn't have the day before and hadn't eaten since he was admitted. Long story short the Dr was EXTREMELY rude and basically told us we need to have a $6K surgery or put our dog down, in addition to the $1000+ they made us put down to keep him over night. She was blaming us for his not eating for 12+ hours while he was there but declined to offer him food when I asked. We took him from here to another animal hospital, who did an ultrasound and found NOTHING!!! We were able to take him home with an antibiotic to help with anything that might come up from all of the treatment. They told us they would call with updates, they never did. We had to call 4 times for any update on our dog. With every call we were pushed to just do surgery and it was not needed. I am sick with worry about what would have happened if we just said cost is no option go ahead and do the surgery when there was no longer a need. Thank God he is now okay and home and happy as before. They are about the bottom line $$$ and that was it. On the up side the receptionist was great and she herself said, we have been busy but not so busy that they should not have called you to work with you! We will be finding a new vet.

Dr. Zitz is by far the best vetinary surgeon I have ever had the pleasure meeting. Our Rottweiler/Lab mix had surgery on his right rear crucuate tendon/knee and our dog (Mulligan) is better than before. The care, compassion and friendliness of the entire staff is beyond exceptional. I would highly recommend Dr.Zitz, the facility, and staff.

We have left the Nashua Animal Hospital for multiple reasons. The prices jumped greatly with no notice to patients. They charge with no warning for nail trims and ear cleanings when they used to be free. The front desk staff is rude and pushy. Every time I establish a relationship with a new Vet the next time I go back that Vet no longer works there. My senior dog had a corneal ulcer that was not healing and instead of referring us to a specialist we spent a thousand dollars for a month treating the eye that still needed a specialist and surgery. They talk down raw feeding and holistic approaches. One vet tech was so rude to us after we had just spent thousands of dollars on surgery. If the surgeon was not as great as she was we would have left that day. Finally recently I had my dog scratch his eye and even though they were open they said I had to go through emergency and the front desk person I was speaking to again was rude and pushy so we decided that we had had enough. We will not be returning to this practice ever again.

I came to this hospital because of Dr. Julia Zitz. She performed FHO surgery on my dog a few years back. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL back in September and ended up needing surgery. Dr. Zitz and her Vet Tech, Renée, have been fabulous. Renée has answered every question I have had over the past 11 days post-op. Dr. Zitz has also checked in with us. I can’t say enough great things about these two ladies. I would recommend this dynamic duo all day long!

I am calmer now after a nightmare of an evening, my wife and I took my 8 year old Dachshund here last night. Our Gabby girl is having back problem, now our own vet has her on steroids & pain management already but we have not learned how to express her bladder. So we went here to get Gabby's bladder done so she could be more comfortable!!! When we call they said we could bring her right done and we would be seen right away, instead we waited over an hour, the when we finally saw the vet and she put us through hell!!! First this Vet that had all the bed side manner of a rock, could not explain anything clearly, then she told us we would need to do a number of very expensive test in order to get Gabby's bladder expressed. This so called vet asked us to do blood test, x-rays, more pain med for over 500.00 dollars, and spent most of her time scaring us into doing these tests. After we decided to do most but not all we were kept waiting for 2 hours and after all of vets drama about ruptured bladder she had a tech do a simple ultra-sound and the tech did the bladder expression, Additionally the tech brought Gabby into the exam room NOT SUPPORTING HER BACK!!!! I am not doing the horror of my experience justice; my objective is to tell you never to take your pets to the Animal Medical Center of New England (Nashua Animal Hospital). The whole place is a horror show with no empathy!

Jennifer B

Extremely expensive and they try to get you to have more procedures done than necessary. They also play on your feelings. GREEDY business. Stay away.

Holly Turner

We brought our dog Banks in for pain, limping, and not acting like himself. The phone call I made to Amy first thing was outstanding. She was compassionate, caring, and very professional and explained everything I had asked. We brought Banks in, and the vet techs were AMAZING! So friendly, prompt, and just so compassionate towards our dog and us as well. The doctor was great to explain everything before preoceeding with testing and made sure to answer all questions we had. We felt EXTREMELY comfortable leaving our dog in their care. And they even called to check up on him a few days later! I HIGHLY recommend this clinic if your pet has an emergency! Outstanding staff, very friendly and extremely efficient!!!

Brooke M

We just transferred to this vet and had to take our guy in for his first visit. I am EXTREMELY pleased with how nice, knowledgeable and efficient the staff is.

Brad Wood

Started using this place when I moved to Nashua in late 2018. It's been a great experience. The staff is warm and welcoming and the overall treatment of both myself and my pup have been great. These people really enjoy their jobs and care about animals and it shows. Also, their "Vaccines for Life" plan is literally the best thing ever.

I went there for an eye problem with my dog. The first two visits were great. But my last visit really upset me. The Dr seemed moody and there was no vet tech in the exam room to hold my dog while the dr did an eye stain. Iam not trained on holding a dog and I could have hurt him while holding him which I think I did. I will not recommend.

Ana Parsons

Dr Williams and staff could not have been nicer and more understanding! Everyone was very empathetic and really seemed to care, they made us feel as comfortable as possible. It is slightly more than a regular veterinarian, but if you can well worth it.Thank You so much.

We love AHN!. But, whatever is causing the breakdown in communication here may force us to leave. We travel an hour for our pets care b/c they get the greatest care here!. But, twice now, just getting a medication refilled or follow up questions answered has become difficult w/out multiple calls or such, our guy went without his allergy medication for almost 2 weeks!. I had called in a very reasonable time frame, and I had to call again almost 2 weeks after initial call, we were out of state and family watched dogs and house..no one ever called back so when we returned it was the first thing I did. Our fur babies are suffering now due to whatever is causing their communication problem, I can’t let them continue to suffer. Thankfully their illness’s are very minor but still causes them a lot of pain and suffering w/out their medication. It will be with a very heavy heart that we would transfer their care and I very much hope it doesn’t come to that drastic a step.

Stephanie Baranowski

Wonderful place. Less expensive than other places I've been to and they are very compassionate about animals.

cat lady

The tech here that handled my cat was horrible. Their poor treatment made him suffer @ the end of his life more than he should have. I took him there for what I hoped would be a peaceful end. Never go here w/ ur pet for euthanasia, there are other places not much further if u google

Flying Disk

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ( DONT ) bring your pet to this place. This was by far the worst place I could have ever brought my pet to. If you care about your pet don’t go there.

I absolutely love this hospital. I have been going to Animal Hospital of Nashua on and off for over 20 years. Every pet we've had has been seen at either the Nashua office or the Amherst office. My dog's regular vet is Dr. Bishop in the Amherst office, who is awesome and happens to be the owner of both offices. Highly recommend him!!!!! Most recently, my 8 year old dog went in for a dental, which has to be done in Nashua. While under anesthesia, she had some cardiac complications. Dr. Bishop has picked up a slight murmur over the past few years and during the procedure, I found out that her heart was weak and needed help. I won't lie, it was very upsetting to hear this after the fact. The vet who was doing the dental procedure, Dr. Angel Cassista, knew exactly what to do, and gave her a blocker then decided against the final X-Ray so she could bring her out of anesthesia quickly and not take a chance. I had never met Dr. Cassista, but am grateful they had a vet on site who has seen this type of cardiac issue several times in the past and acted quickly and appropriately keeping my girl's safety at the forefront. I received a call directly from Dr. Cassista, who explained this to a very upset puppy parent, and managed to do so in a calming, matter-of-fact way so I wasn't nearly as freaked out as I could have been. She was just awesome. She then followed up to check on my dog a couple of days later. For the record, my dog's teeth look amazing and we had no complications after the procedure. There have been other great experiences at this hospital that I should have left reviews for, so shame on me for not doing that then.

Bob Bob

This place is a horror show! Do you know when your gut tells you "something is really wrong here"? Well I should have listened to my gut and ran from this place to another hospital. Shame on me, but lesson learned. Thank goodness it was not at the expense of my dog and only a few hundred dollars for their greedy pockets. I won't get into the details, as they were already discussed with our regular vet in the morning and THEY CONCURRED, stating that they do not recommend this place at all! It speaks volumes when your own vet tells you not to go to Animal Medical Center and offered alternatives hospitals in case the need arose. again for emergency care.

Fair prices, exceptional care. They explain the costs up front and the practice always looks beautiful. Heads and shoulders above any place else I've been to.

Smtheo7

Honestly I've had great experiences here since 1999, but the prices just go up and up and up. I love my animals just like family, but everything here is just so much higher than other places, in some cases 50-75% higher. Sorry, I'll be finding some place new.

My dog Hershey got into the trash and swallowed a beer bottle cap! They were very polite and professional. This hospital took her in immediately and performed surgery within an hour. She recovered quickly. We even took her in a few extra times to make sure the healing process was going well. They never charged us for that! I had insurance so the cost of the surgery wasn't bad. I highly recommend them!

Bill Forrest

Unhappy with service and cost. We brought our puppy here to find out why she had a persistant wheeze- type cough. The vet we saw seemed confused, couldn't diagnose what was wrong, so he presented us with an estimate for $1400 worth of tests. We contacted Sterling Animal Shelter, where we adopted the puppy from, and they were shocked at the news of the estimate from the vet and offered to have their staff vet see her for free. Their staff vet immediately recognized what the problem was--it was a simple reverse sneeze, which is somewhat common in dogs. She recommended a youtube search for reverse sneeze and sure enough that's exactly what it was. 6 weeks later now and our puppy is fine--had we listened to the vet at the Nashua Animal Hospital we would have been out $1400 for nothing. The shelter also couldn't believe what this vet was prepared to charge us for something as simple as a tracheal wash which takes about 5 to ten minutes--they were going to charge us $165 for it as part of "the estimate". This was something simple that he should have been able to diagnose--no excuse. This place has $$$$$ written all over it. Stay clear if you don't want to go broke.

I went to put my dog to sleep and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. There was bedside manor or sympathy girl my suffering dog. We were the for over an hour before they put my poor dog out of her misery. They had to give my dog an "exam" before they would her to sleep. She couldn't walk and was 15 years old. I have had to put animals down before and I always use to work at an animal hospital and that is not how people or a suffering animal should have to go through. The only person w who and kind was the receptionist.

Brian Bakker

I can't recommend Nashua Animal Hospital enough. We have used them for our dog, Reggie's veterinary care for about 8 years. We have always been very pleased with the service and care that they have provided for us. Recently, our dog needed to undergo an invasive and complicated surgery to remove a large, cancerous growth on his front leg. Dr. Julia Zitz and her Vet Tech, Renee and the staff on the Emergency side did a wonderful job; not only with the surgery, but all the post-op care as well. They made themselves available to answer questions, showed compassion toward Reggie and treated us like family. It's not easy to watch your pet go through this type of surgery. Yet the care given to us exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this team to care for your pet.

Just Janet

The care and hours are perfect! The price is a little high. Nice staff.

David Dieken

They have a policy that is terrible for the animals and owners if an emergency situation does occur. Basically they require 100% payment before beginning any procedure. Because it's an emergency hospital it may not be possible for the client to get the funds together (after bank hours) which has resulted in animals being euthanized. Not only this but they have very opportunistic pricing, often as much as twice the price of a standard practice. I would strongly recommend finding another place for your emergency needs in advance.

craig lamerand

I have been to this place several times with both my dogs and while I did not experience the horror show that some of the other people have posted here I will agree that they are money and test oriented just like any other for-profit medical business except the dog cannot tell you what works and what does not. I have found both vets to be kind and focused on the pets well being and if you tell them up front (like I always do) that money is VERY tight they have responed by offering several treatment options based on cost. There are other animal hospitals in nearly every town that borders nashua so I would recomend to anyone who has a bad time here to go elsewhere for their pet emergency care needs.

I've been with the Animal Hospital of Nashua for many years and have always been impressed with every doctor I've seen. Each doctor is so caring, kind and honest and their love of animals shines brilliantly. The office staff is always smiling and friendly and I couldn't ask for anything more!

The Notorious V.i.v.

Decent Vet Clinic I liked all of the staff except for Dr. Cassista. We found her to be rude and arrogant with a poor bedside manner. Just because you have a Veterinary degree, doesn't mean you are adept at dealing with the public. I would schedule with any provider except for her

Dawn Mayo

Strongly recommend you looking elsewhere for care for your pet. My pet has been diagnosed on more then one occasion incorrectly which has caused him to be in pain that could have been alleviated. Once he was sent to a specialist in Woburn per their suggestion for a “back” issue that was actually an anal glad issue. On another occasion, when he was in for an anal gland expression, they came out and told me they emptied his left gland and that one had actually been removed in prior years. The customer service and accessibility in getting him in surely are not anything to speak of. Our pets are like our children so some compassion for them when they are not well is high on my list. This did not seem to be a focus for them on more than one occasion.

Dr. Bishop and Dr. Sawyer were great! Colby was sick and Dr. Bishop took the time to explain everything and when the tough decision had to be made Dr. Sawyer was compassionate and amazing. The Technicians were great as well especially Kursten, Melanie and Claudia! Cant say enough about the staff and how great they are! Would recommend them to anyone!

Brought my dog in was acting strange and crying a lot told me there was nothing wrong he'd be fine. Woke up the next day to find out he had passed away over night.
