Nice place got my pet Rat named Samantha put down, they did good she took awhile to go. The only thing that bothered me was I couldn't be with Samantha while she was put down I hinted but they didn't get it wish I could've been with her sucks they wouldn't let me be with her. If I was with her comforting her she probably would have passed on quicker and happier.

I have been taken my pets to different vets around New Hampshire as I've moved around. I couldn't be more happy that I settled near this veterinarian clinic. I've seen two different doctors and both have been amazing. They offer an honest opinion any symptoms they find, and you can tell they really care about the animals. They don't just offer drugs to make some money and push you out the door. I talked about my dogs seizures which had my wife and I very nervous. They offered some changes that included diet, changing flea medicine, and natural medicine that wouldn't affect my dogs liver. They never pushed anything and we're more than willing to answer my slew of questions and concerns. I'm usually very wary about new vets, but this place is one I would happily recommend to any friend or family member. You should definitely see if they work for you, if you're in the area.

Caring and compassionate, as you would expect from any veterinarian, but also astute and skilled. Dr. Harriton handled my dog's recent major surgery expertly, and the worries of this stressed out doggy dad were eased by the doctor himself, as well as the awesome assistants and staff. If you live within a reasonable commute I would highly recommend you choose the Animal Hospital of Barrington (NH) for your pet health needs.

Been bringing pets here for years but lately ( last year or so) the front desk personnel are nothing but rude they can be nice when you are paying your bill but try and put off a treatment and attitude just completely changes if I didn't know any better you would think they get kickbacks for appointments. I feel bad for the owner because he is extremely nice but I can't keep bringing pets there when the front desk is so rude.

Bad reaction to distemper shot would have appreciated if they told me of the risks in advance ! Pet was in pain had to take him to another vet but will receive reimbursement ! Other than that no problems! They injected my cat wrong created great pain and suffering with a distemper shot then I had to bring the baby to Port City in Newington for pain medication ! They then told me it was a bad reaction to the medication ! Port City said they injected my cat wrong! Then they had the audacity not to reimburse me! I would definitely choose a different vet they obviously don't care about the well being of animals!

Had heard good things about this vet but I didn't have that experience. Brought in my older debilitated cat who had lost a lot of weight suddenly and knew she'd need blood work. Called and told the front desk specifically that I wanted no rabies vacc while she was there (I had heard from other vets that they wouldn't work on pets with past due rabies vacc and her's was a few months past due). I was assured they wouldn't insist upon it with a sick animal. But guess what: when they took her from the room for that blood work, they gave her the rabies vacc without discussing it with me or getting my permission! Tech said this was on Dr. Harriton's ok and despite her condition, even tho it says on the vaccine ITSELF not to give to sick animals! Blood work then showed she had pancreatitis and possible liver issues and so should NOT have had that shot, which further stressed her liver and kidneys. I was extremely displeased. Dr. also didn't prescribe pain meds as all my research indicated he should have, but I soon found out why. Went back a few days later to the other Dr in the practice for pain control and he agreed that pancreatitis is "very painful" for the animal. However, he offered me only a $49 injection of Buprenex, effective for only 24 hours, saying they "couldn't prescribe anything by law" due to the opioid problem in the state. I went home and called 2 other vets in the area, both of whom said they both should and could prescribe pain meds to take home for pancreatitis. All that was needed was for me to sign a slip of paper confirming my name and address and that I owned the cat. One of these vets suggested that AHB may have been afraid of their possible "liability" of prescribing opioids in the current environment. Summary: The front office folk are great and both Drs have a nice way with the customer, but I found them to be exceedingly arrogant, misleading (or misinformed??), and somewhat suspect, as they do all treatments without allowing you in the room. And apparently they won't effectively treat any of the thousands of painful diseases and injuries your pet might face - and mislead you as to why! Go to another practice if you want the best care for your pet.

I am writing this review for my mom. She brought her dogs here for many years. She loved, loved, loved the staff. She especially enjoyed the personal touches such as sending reminder notes addressed to the dogs.

I was recommended to come here by someone I know that uses this veterinarian. Last year my dog developed a serious, and rare condition, and I was unhappy with our current vet, so we decided on switching to this veterinarian. Like most articles you read, or publications, or people you speak with, they usually tell you to speak with a veterinarian first, before you move your pet to their clinic. The same as usually said about switching doctors as well. The reason is, you are interviewing them for long-term use and care of you or your family member.. So I called the clinic and told them I just wanted to speak with a veterinarian to ensure that he understood the condition my dog had, and that I could transition to his clinic. The answer I got was that I would have to pay for a visit, and a diagnostic fee, and that the veterinarian would not speak with me unless I paid to speak with him. I explained again that I was wanting to switch the vet, and I simply needed to speak with him for 5 minutes to ensure that it would be a right fit, and that he understood my dog's condition. The response again was that I would need to pay to have a visit, even if my dog didn't come. I'm willing to bet you that's not the response that the pharmaceutical companies, or other companies that sell things through the vet are told, but that's what I was told. Any healthcare practice that is unwilling to even answer a question about whether or not they can even help your pets rare condition, and won't even let you meet a vet before trusting in the practice, is not a veterinarian worthy of our business. For the record, I spoke with a few other vets that were quickly able to tell me whether or not they could handle my dog's condition. The general recommendation that I heard was that I should stick with my current vet, regardless of the problems there, because they were the ones that were dealing with the issue. I made that unfortunate mistake, and that's a whole other story, but they were at least able to treat my dog. It would have been nice to come to this vet on the initial recommendation that I had had, by a long-term customer of theirs, and they could have just spent two to three minutes speaking with me and answering a question as to whether or not they could even treat my pet in the first place. Instead, this is the end result.
