Dr. Beck is an amazing vet who really cares about her patients and clients. After my black lab, Luna, was limping for over 4 months, had seen 2 other vets, and tried multiple anti-inflammatories without success, Dr. Beck got Luna on a prescription diet, supplements, and exercise plan that not only fixed her limp, but got her back to hiking with us. I've never seen such a thorough exam performed on anyone--human or animal. If your dog needs a rehab specialist, there's no one better.

I went in because of my dog having anxiety really bad. I was concerned and at a loss of what to do. She had injured her teeth while in the kennel due to a anxiety attack. Dr Backlund was so helpful and taught me tools to help Jetta feel better. The price was going to be higher then I was prepared to pay but it had to be done except when it came time to pay it was right where I needed it to be significantly lower then it probably should have been. The dr took such good care of Jetta I am so happy with my experience.

I went to Backlund about 2 months ago, durning the consultation they wanted to lay him on his side to evaluate. I told them no he does not like that and will freak out( not sure why he doesn’t like it but he doesn’t) they continued to lay him on his side and he freaked out wanting to bit them and then Dr freaked out ( unprofessionally ) they they put a mussel on, Told them there has to be another way to do the exam they said no

Great staff, Great Vet! We took both of our baby girls here and they did a wonderful job. They completed a thorough exam, and explained everything to me. I had both dogs' teeth cleaned and their teeth look fantastic. I was amazed at how little the incision was for our youngest dog who was spayed. Her recovery time was quick! They called the next day to check on her as well. It is great knowing our loved pets are in good hands when they need preventative or emergency medical treatment!

Michelle and her clinic saved my dog, Rock, but it was more than just the superb medical care, it was the caring! I live in North Platte and was unable to be there as many of their pet owners can, but Rock was well loved by all. One vet tech (Cassie?) started eating her lunch with Rock when they thought he was becoming depressed. Dr Michelle went the extra mile and took Rock home with her for Thanksgiving so he could have a little turkey and LOTS of TLC! His recovery has been slow, but he was so severly injured I did not think he would recover. He now has a dog walker and goes for rides in the car and is waiting the arrival of a new "brother" who is coming off the tracks in Texas. I am hoping that Big Red Ted will inspire Rock to run in the yard more, even though he chased a car coming down the back alley the other day (I never thought I would see that again!) I don't think Rock will ever be the once strong greyhound he was, but he is alive and moving.. all thanks to Backlund Animal Clinic.

My 6 year old lab, Happy, had TPLO surgery in July 2016. I was told that water therapy would help her recover to have better use of her leg and since she was only 6, I wanted to look into it. I stopped into Backland Animal Clinic and I immediately knew this was the place she needed to be. Dr. Michelle, Cassie, Chelsea, and Morgan were amazing. They treated the "whole" dog and put her on a weight loss plan as well. She went from 86 lbs to 66 lbs and she has never been healthier. I am so appreciative to this entire group. We recently moved to Florida and we took Happy to the beach. This is something we have wanted to do since we first got her as a puppy–it was on our "bucket list." I literally cried as I watched her run up and down the beach without any limitations. She ran and ran and ran like she'd never run before. This would have never been possible without Backlund Animal Clinic. She is living her best life and it makes us so "Happy!" Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dr. Beck is so knowledgeable, patient and kind...with our German Shepherd, and also with us humans. Our dog had the most complete exam I have ever seen. Our news wasn't the best, but Dr. Beck was so compassionate and helpful...talking about every option and always with whatever is best for Gracie and for us. I also think their proces are very reasonable. Our other vet recommended them for therapy and evaluation and treatment and I am pleased she did.

Wow! I was told by Dr. Beck that the pain medication, Meloxicam my vet gave my dog was human grade and not the best for dogs. That I should really give her Meloxidyl which is better for dogs. So I agreed to purchase the Meloxidyl from Backlund Animal Clinic. Well, my vet charged me $9.50 for the Meloxicam prescription, so boy was I in shock to be charged $128.75 for the prescription of Meloxidyl. Than researching on the internet I find it is the same thing, only in liquid form. Feeling...Ripped Off. Also was told my dog's exam would be $177.00. Was charged $227.00...What a rip off this place is.

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Nels Backlund since 1998. They have treated our dogs, cats and even a mouse for many different conditions with professionalism, kindness and compassion. The staff is always courteous and friendly. My questions and concerns are always addressed promptly and thoroughly. They treat and care for my animals just they way they would treat their own pets. Even though we moved out of the Omaha area, we make the trip in to Dr. Backlund and his staff... many times a year since we have three dogs and three cats! I can't say enough good things about them.

Myself, and our Doxin Oscar, love the place...staff...and the doc. We had the doc do acupuncture. And Oscar, our Doxin, started to groan it felt so good. He has gone from, not being able to move very well. To jumping with excitement when we come home from work. They also offer aquatic therapy as well. I wish I knew of this place/procedure 5 years ago when my sweetheart, Maggie, my Yellow Lab had to be put down as she couldn't move any longer. Vet said it was time. Anyway, it is worth the call and initial visit if ur dog is having ANY kind of problems. Acupuncture is not just for back problems. MAKE THE CALL AND SET UP APPOINTMENT.

Doctor Michelle and her staff were very attentive and informed. Our boxer, Magnolia, was at ease there. Magz hurt her back leg and we were referred by a friend. She was originally diagnosed for surgery by another vet, but we are trying to avoid that by giving rehab a try.

My dog went to the canine rehabilitation and wellness center and it is great! She is doing great and they have provided me with lifelong exercises to keep up with. They are patient and a great staff. They are all very friendly and great at what they do.

If you want quality & caring for your pet, visit them! Plus very polite, caring and tell you everything they are doing for your pet! They keep great records, have access to your former vet visits to blend with your current visit at their facility. Dr Nels Backlund has to be THE BEST VET in Omaha!!! Dr Backlund is truly wonderful. We brought our cat in with symptoms of diabetes. Everyone in his clinic was supportive, educational, and friendly. His compassion for animals is evident during each visit and phone call. Dr. Michelle did a FANTASTIC job. Our JRT had a limp/muscle problems after a surgery and we were afraid he would never walk normally again. Dr. Michelle's treatments and the care our dog received from her and her staff made a world of difference. Instead of a lame dog, we now have one that can run like the wind again!! Since Pip moved to New Mexico (military move) she gave us suggestions, help, exercises to help him progress. You can't go wrong with this clinic/Drs. and staff.
