I had a great experience at Affton Vet. They were able to give me an appointment on the day of my call. The entire staff were very caring and courteous. The doctor gave me her honest opinion and did not try to pressure me to get any unnecessary tests or x-rays. When your worried about your beloved pet it’s so comforting to be treated so well.

We love Dr. Brooks! She is very understanding and always answers all our questions about our pups. We have taken one of our dogs through heartworm treatment and they are very friendly and understanding through the entire process! We also took our new puppy there and they are very good at explaining the whole process of what our puppy needs and why. Everything is also priced very reasonably and they will tell you the price before your appointment. Would 100% recommend her for all your pet needs!

Dr. Brooks and the staff are always wonderful. I've always adopted ferals and they've always been handled with gentle and patient hands. I've been using Affton Veterinary scince 1981, long before Dr. Brooks aquired the practice. But then that's really inmaterial. Any good? The little black cat now on my lap is at least 21 years old. I don't believe that she managed to get that old by being seen by less than the best. So let me say Dr. Brooks is the best vet that I've ever used from 1975 on (From Alaska to Minnesota to Alabama too

Dr Brooks Is clearly up to date on information regarding nutritionional requirements of our dogs, microchip information, and she provided important details on dental care.We went in with 3 dogs and did not feel rushed at all. Worse vet. I have ever wasted my time and money with. My dog was suffering without any sign of healing or any answers to what was going on with my dog. $200+ every time we walked through the door. Now I have answers, my dog is healthy again, and the cost has been around $100 with meds. Save your time, money, and stress on yourself and your pet and find a different vet. Four paws down!

Had Dr. Brooks for about six years now. Always cheerful, always patient (especially with me.) Gives my dog the finest care since Dr. Johnson in the 1990's, not that Johnson was better, but he lives 1,000 miles away now. The best part is that Dr. Brooks loves animals, and it shows. I recommended her to my neighbors and now they use her as well. If you're a senior, she gives a discount for all services, which always helps. 100% satisfied and happy with her service. As a bonus, she always has a pleasant smile and has finally stopped calling me "sir." ;o)

Dr Tara Brooks and all of her staff are very professional, courteous, and cordial can not say enough good things about Dr Brooks so nice and so helpful going the extra mile to make sure our dog JULES gets the best medical treatment available all the time, every time we always have a pleasant experience with all of the staff there every one is just great and amazing to us always very friendly, caring, helpful, dedicated, and knowledgeable Dr Brooks and her team are fantastic people who really love animals and it shows in their commitment our dog JULES was diagnosed with a tumor in her bladder when she was 13 years old by Dr Brooks and I really needed a Veterinarian to be understanding in our very difficult time JULES was giving a year and a half to live the tumor was in a place were it could not be removed unfortunately Dr Brooks was there for us the whole way though she knew this was not just our dog but that JULES was family our little precious girl that we love with all of our hearts and souls forever we are very grateful and appreciate all that they do for the animals highly recommend so glad they are in the neighborhood excellent service MAY CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR GOD TRULY BLESS Dr Tara Brooks and all of her staff all the days of there lives as they work to treat and save our beloved animals and take care of them keeping them happy and living long healthy lives

We have all three of our pets visit her for regular check ups and special visits. We have "special needs" dog and she has helped us through some very tough times along with giving truly sound advice along the way. Love this place

I decided to try out Affton Vet clinic when I was frustrated with Watson animal clinic. Dr. Brooks finally diagnosed an issue I had asked 3 or 4 different vets, and was so patient with my old dog. Our service was always immediate here, and I really felt like we received dedicated and personalized care. When the most unfortunate time came, I was able to schedule a home visit, where my dog was comfortable, and I felt so much better about everything. Dr Brooks and the team were so sweet through it all. They may not be quite as cheap as Watson Rd, but they are certainly within reason, and in my opinion, definitely worth it.

A small practice. Took my sick kitty in as a drop off emergency after a trip to my usual vet 2 days prior. She was still sick and getting worse. Calm environment. I was so impressed with the staff and environment. Dr. Brooks treated my kitty and found out what was causing her illness. The clinic and Dr. Brooks were recommended by Animal House Cat Rescue. I am so thankful and appreciative to both.

I did not have a good experience at this veterinary clinic and would not recommend it to others. I am new to the area and passed by the office a few times while taking my dog to the local park. Since her shots were coming due, I figured I would stop in there and see if this could be our new home vet. I went in and told the front desk assistant that I was new to the area and wanted to bring my dog in for kind of a welcome visit, yearly exam/shots appointment. I wasn't met with a very good first impression but did set up an appointment for the following day. She asked if there was anything else going on with the dog and I said you know she has been acting a little off this week. She told me to bring a stool sample and I said alright. When I got to the office in the morning, I was met with no greeting. I just sat down with the dog until they asked if that was Mamba. When we got back to the office, the assistant copied my records and asked me about her acting a little off. I gave her a detailed story of the happenings over the last week. Nothing really crazy, just wasn't as excited to eat and eating at later times during the day. I mentioned she did throw up once a few days earlier but that was it. I figured she had a bit of a stomach bug but that really wasn't why I was visiting the office. I was there to get a standard exam, make sure she was in good overall health, get her shots, and probably get some flea/tick prevention since she has been itching a ton. Anyway, after a little while, the actual veterinarian comes in and says the stool sample looks fine. Don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself or ask any other questions about the dog. She asked if she had eaten today, which I already explained to the assistant that she had not. The vet pressed on her stomach and based on that told me it would probably be in her best interest to get an x-ray. I am a loving owner so I obliged to paying the $120 to make sure she hadn't swallowed something bad. I waited about 20 minutes and she came back in real quick, said the x-ray showed nothing harmful, I am giving her a shot to ease the stomach and I will send you home with some pills and canned food for her. At this point, I am like uh okay what about the shots and have you noticed fleas, etc. I am basically trying to ask her real quick about the things I originally came to see her for. She said she didn't notice anything but you can have her take some benadryl if you want. Okay, and she's hurrying out of the office as I'm still trying to discuss the dog's issues. Lost cause. To conclude, the assistant comes back in, tells me about the pills and has me come up front. I ask for the receipt to look things over. $250! And I wasn't even able to walk out of there with the shots, flea meds, or the yearly exam. I was charged $43 for that shot that I didn't give consent for and after looking it up, it is a medication for vomiting and car sickness! The dog threw up 1 time 3 days ago. I asked the assistant if I could come back in for the shots without paying the office visit fee (since I just paid all of this but wasn't able to get the shots). She of course said no. Paid my bill and walked out with no intention of coming back. Definitely made the wrong decision on choosing them.

My family has been taking our pets here for many years. They have always been wonderful with them. I have twice had the unfortunate experience of having to have pets put down. Both times the staff has been incredibly empathetic, kind and gentle, not just with the pet but with the family. They go well beyond. After they have taken care of our beloved pets, the took a paw print and put the pets name and date, making it into something that could be used as a tree ornament during the holidays as a fond memory of our fur Angels. I highly recommend this clinic.

Her team runs circles to keep her and the clients on time and on track. I have recommended her to many of my personal friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the masses. It is a small but effective clinic and they have always done their best to accommodate my schedule needs.

The vets as well as the whole staff are super nice. I had just moved to St Louis from Charlotte NC with 2 cats, one a 19-year-old going into renal failure and had to be put down. They were very sensitive to my needs and feelings and let me stay with her in the exam room for as long as I needed. We have since adopted another cat from the Humane Society, and they're taking great care of her. I recently moved across the county but am still using Affton.
