REVIEWS OF Gluckstadt Animal Hospital IN Mississippi

We switched because we were unhappy with the impersonal care at another area vet, and we are very happy we did, Dr. Sturdivant always takes time and explains himself very well, and you get the feeling that he truly cares, instead of just wanting to make a buck. You won't go wrong with Gluckstadt Animal Hospital and the entire staff.

They've been taking care of my pups for years now and are always great.

I've had several bad experiences with the staff and was considering a change but kept hearing how great the doctor was, but in 6 visits I was never able to meet him/ her (don't know which, never met). The last straw was when I dropped my dog off for full wash, nail trim, etc. Plus booster shot and check up. 9 hrs later my daughter brought her home unwashed, not pedicured extremely thirsty and covered in fleas. They charged $90 to give her fleas, I don't know if she got a shot or not. When I called to find out what happened the sarcastic desk worker said yeah, sorry to hear that, you can come and buy the flea treatments for $90. I suggested that they should give her the treatment since they gave her the fleas and was told that I should just come back and buy the treatments for $90. I asked for her manager or the doctor or anyone who was concerned about giving the patients fleas and was told they were too busy and that should call back later. I hung up, will never go back.

I was attempting to schedule another boarding for my pet at Gluksdadt Animal Hospital when I encountered a recent review concerning their services. I was horrified with the comments of the rater about being rebuffed by the staff and something about a staff referring to a client as an idiot! Such an experience by that rater brings me to the conclusion that the rater is a generally malcontent individual who wishes to foist her miseries in life upon unsuspecting clients, especially if she had had previously unsatisfactory experiences with that service establishment? I mean, why return to a facility with which you have had poor experience, never mind that the facility was farther removed from a competing facility with which one has had a much more rewarding encounter? Duh! Please accept my assurances that, in six years trusting this Glukstadt Animal Hospital with my pet’s welfare and boarding, I have never witnessed a single incidence of anything like what that person portrayed.

Took good care of our Boston Terrier and the Dr's seem to really care. We had 17 wonderful years with her thanks to them.

Les Cooper

Took my dog as a walking. Diagnosed him correctly and is doing good. Staff called the next day to check on him.

I am new in town and my dog has developed some hotspots. They got us in within a few hours. I had to wait a bit but that was fine! The techs who helped me were very sweet and Dr. Sturdevant was very friendly. He explained what causes the spots and what I should do about it in the future. He also took the time to talk to me about doctors for myself in the area since we are new to town. I went in today because it was convenient but I will likely continue my dog's care there because of my experience. Thanks!

The service was great, my dog got spayed but 6 months later she came in heat again which found out he didn't get all of her ovaries out,, so now she's going thru the heat cycle all over again...He say she can't have puppies but I have males dogs they don't know that..

Very caring and supportive staff. We unfortunately had to let go of one of our pets today and they did everything they could to make it easy on us. Prior to today, I have also found their care top quality and their prices reasonable.

Clyde Graham

Boarded the pups there. They did a great job at a good price

I have given this vet clinic 3-4 chances & each time have had horrible experiences. Primarily w/ the staff & once w/ both staff & the doctor. The first time I ever went, I took my dog for routine check ups/vaccinations & never once was introduced to anyone working on my dog. She was taken to the back for each thing (heartworm check, weight, vaccinations), & I never once got the name of the girl taking her back or even laid eyes on the doctor. Another incidence I had taken her in & was told I needed to bring her back the next day to drop her off to be seen (which is totally fine), but they open at 7:30 & I need to be on the road to work by then. I arrived immediately before 7:30 (about 7:28a). Since they were expecting me I called to see if I could just drop her off; no one answered the phone (again, that’s totally fine), but then at 7:31-7:32 the door was still locked when I tried to go inside. Then one of the workers unlocked the door & ran back behind the counter before I could even open the door. They then stared at me like I was crazy & acted like they had no idea what I was taking about. I have since found an use a new vet clinic; however, this one is less than a mile from my home so when I woke up this am & my dog had a swollen & bleeding eye, I figured it was much more prudent to take her somewhere now rather than to wait until I got off work or be very late for work taking her to our usual vet half an hour away. I arrived & waited (no problem), when the girl returned I told her what happened this morning when I woke up & that I just needed to drop my girl off for it to be looked at (I did not ask to be seen right away or even that morning at all.) I was asked if I had an appointment... obviously I didn’t since I didn’t plan to wake up to my dog having a swollen & bleeding eye. So I said no that was why I was hoping just to drop her off. She said she needed to talk to the doctor & went to the back. While she was gone, two other girls were sitting at the desk. One answered the phone, put the client on hold, turned to her co-worker and said “some idiot didn’t realize it was spring break and wants to know if we have room for a 45lb dog to board.” I should have walked out then. The other girl comes back at this point & informs me that they’re just so booked up that my best bet is to take her to the emergency clinic, because the doctor will be in surgery for 2 hours and they don’t have any room, but then she said they could see her they just weren’t sure when. I said that was fine as that’s what I had asked to do anyway. She then turns away from me and walked back behind the desk and said “well I wasn’t sure since you said it was an emergency” with more sarcasm than I’ve ever been able to pour into a sentence. (I meant it was emergent in that I didn’t/wouldn’t leave her at home alone all day while I was at work not knowing why her eye was suddenly swollen and bleeding and she was pawing at it constantly at home. Admittedly I apparently needed to be more clear by what I meant here.) If this had been my first bad experience with this clinic I would have just let it go. However, this is the consistent experience I’ve had. The workers that I have interacted with have the worst attitudes and calling a client an idiot while they’re on hold right in front of another client is appalling. Having worked at a vet clinic for several years through high school and college I can’t believe this place has as many clients as they do. I have no issues with our usual vet (Luckney Animal Clinic is phenomenal and gladly took my girl this morning even though it was much more out of the way), with the other vet clinic we went to after the initial bad visits here (The people at the Mac are great if you want a clinic in this general area), only this one. I just cannot, and will not ever, recommend this place to anyone knowing what they say about clients behind their backs yet in front of other clients, and how they handle themselves in general. The attitude of the workers is ridiculous and incredibly unprofessional.

Tasty food better than fast food just be prepared to wait a few minutes for the fresh prep. Definitely worth it.

Great Group who really care about your pet!

Dropped our dog off to go on a short vacation to six flags and rangers game. When we get back to pick up our dog my fiancé and I both noticed the area where the dogs were walked looked like a jungle. We go in pay for the stay and wait. Finally our dog is brought out and the lady tells us "sorry for the wait your dog has a cut on his paw but the vet checked it and he's ok." "It must have just happened?"
