My Roofie has had two surgeries here, knee and bladder, by Dr. Wagoner. I can’t say enough positive things about this place. They are professional and compassionate. They know our pets are our children and know exactly how much they mean to us. Dr. Wagoner is so smart and does an amazing job explaining the recovery process, what she will do in surgery and answering any questions you may have. I’m so glad this is in my area and I didn’t have to travel far off to get the medical attention needed for my baby.

You go to dentistry schools, cosmetology schools, etc and get crazy discounts because it's students. If this is an extension of MS State and tuition money funds the school, why are prices so high?! I read all of the reviews and price is the common denominator. I was charged $25 just to have my cat's BP taken! Granted, the staff was nice, but very few can afford. There are many other nice vets in practice who simply don't have the equipment. They have you over a barrel.

I have had multiple bad experiences here and would not reccomend coming to this place unless it is truly the only vet open and it is a life or death situation for your pet. A few years ago they tried to put our dog down just because he had a shattered leg after getting hit by a car, the next day we contact our regular veterinarian in Brandon and he was excellent and did a simple amputation, ultimately saving our pup's life when the staff here just encouraged us to just kill him. And just recently our young cat became ill early in the morning and we brought him to this facility because it was the only vet open at that hour. Over a span of 24 hours this vet cost us over a thousand dollars and they still could not treat him and continued to try to take more tests, costing us more money while giving us no explanations. We have now taken him to our regular veterinarian and of course our cat is suddenly being treated effectively and at an affordable cost. This vet clinic has no idea what they're doing and they will cost you a fortune without even caring. Do not go here unless there is no other place open.

We had to take our newly adopted german shepherd puppy in late one night. They were able to get to her right away and tend to her injury. They made her comfortable and were very clear in letting us know what was going on with her and in providing us with a plan for aftercare. We were in and out in a reasonable time. The pricing is very high so be sure to ask about treatment options and charges.

Do not go here!!!! I beg of you not to take your pet here unless you are certain your pet will die. They want to run all these tests for outrages prices that are not necessary. I took my dog here and they ran a 200 dollar test and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with her. i took her to northstate the next morning and they treated her for 30 dollars and found out what was wrong.

I have been here several times. Not ONCE was any of the staff rude or anything. (reading from one of the other comments.) And, another comment mentioned about tests & being unnecessary and outrageous prices. In my opinion, if you LOVE your animal, you CAN NOT put a price on them. I lost my sweet boy, Zorro a few weeks ago. They took EXCELLENT care of him, and are EXTREMELY compassionate and caring people. We should be grateful that this is affiliated w/MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine. I live over 30 miles from them, and am happy that I didn't have to drive to MSU in Starkville, like in the past. I think that ALL of us should be grateful that AERC is here. Thank y'all for everything y'all did for our Zorro.

HIGH QUALITY PET MEDICAL CARE, including Specialists that we are FORTUNATE to have access to in our area's! HOWEVER, U should be prepared to PAY HIGH Prices, UP FRONT, for THAT CARE! That is ALWAYS a TOUGH Situation when the CARE of your LOVED ONE can be NEGATIVELY Impacted by the lack of $$$. HOWEVER, this certainly is NOT an AERC specific problem! My Pet's and I have ALWAYS gotten Compassionate, Top-Notch CARE HERE though covering the Costs was ALWAYS a challenge.

Took one of my precious rescue kitties, Milo, to their clinic yesterday. He had been having respiratory issues for the few weeks that we had him (and his brother). We had placed ads to find a forever home for him, but had had no luck. He was getting worse, and since I live on a small disability and unable to afford a vet, I was told on the phone that they would treat him if I signed him over. After struggling with the idea, I took him up there. They took him back immediately, and placed the paperwork in front of me to sign. Afterwards, I asked could they please let me know if he makes it and I was told no. Now, for heaven's sake, had I known that they won't even tell me something as simple as that, I would've kept him with me, done what I could and just prayed. THEY SHOULD TELL PEOPLE UPFRONT. I haven't been able to stop crying since, and I have to live with not knowing if he made it. I'm left to feel like I signed his death warrant and it's JUST NOT RIGHT. I had been to them before, for another pet of mine, but I will NEVER go to them again. I'm forever heartbroken over this.

I totally do NOT RECOMMEND this place AT ALL!! My cat accidentally ingested some Revolution and I called them and the girl on the phone told me to call the pet poison hotline- who charge $59 per phone call(!!!??). I know they have a vet up there all night; all she had to do was ASK THE VET WHAT TO WATCH FOR- she declined - I explained that I was a disabled senior on a very limited budget and she was completely UNconcerned- just a job to her obviously. DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU HAVE ALOT OF MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!!

This place is EXTREMELY expensive. As soon you arrive they take your pet and then begin talking to you. They charge $100 just for coming in. They need to VERBALLY warn you that the payment is due at the time of service. Nobody thinks about reading a sign when your pet's in neee of care. You arejta allowed to go in the back with your animal, so how do you know exactly what they're doing or what needs to be done. Stop overcharging for emergencies!!!!

My cat had a litter of 7 kittens. Two got sickly and one passed away. I knew that if I waited until morning to go to a non profit, the other sick kitten would die. We had been caring for them for 5 weeks. It broke my heart. I couldn't afford to have all the kittens seen that night but I couldn't stand by and watch that tiny kitten die. I put the money together and my 4 year old and I took the tiny thing to the hospital. He wasn't nursing like the others and he was so anemic, he wouldn't have made it. The vet said he needed a blood transfusion, which we couldn't afford. The tech on duty offered to adopt the kitten and it gave him the best chance at surviving. These people were patient and kind. They truly look out for the best interest of the animals they care for. I commend them for their compassion. We are so thankful for the help we received. They didn't end up charging us so we donated what we could. Rare souls are this kind. They went so far as to refer us to a non profit to care for our other kittens. I am so grateful for this staff. They have reinforced my belief that selfless people exist. I stand behind them. I would trust any loved pet with them. Thank you for being there for us.

They may be competent but the front desk person was beyond rude, talked over me, wouldn't listen (due to interrupting and then talking over me, refused to get a supervisor when I wanted to talk with one). They are excruciatingly expensive. $95 to walk in the door (my vet charged $45)and for basic blood work (that my vet charges $88 for) they are charging $155 for; thus it is clear the visit will run, likely $400+ if they have to do anything. If you have another choice when your vet is closed I would use it. You have students working on your animals and it is difficult to actually talk to the licensed vet. I'd guess they use this clinic to subsidize other stuff in the vet school. They have you over a barrel financially on a weekend, evenings or holiday, they know that and take advantage of that. They are in it for the money. Again this is a separate issue than competent vet care, but clearly money is their first concern.

I brought my cat in because he was none responsive and it was on a Sunday. Long story short, I left 24 hours later and had a $1200 bill and no diagnosis. They wanted me to spend another $2500 for a "specialist" to do more research and a procedure that could possible kill him. I removed him and took him to my Vet on Monday. $86 dollars later, he is back home and doing great. BE VERY AWARE. Unless your animal is in dire need of medical assistance (life saving), stay away. You will get charged everything under the sun as if you went into an ER for your own medical treatment. Total ripoff.

Reason for my visit on an early Sunday morning of a holiday weekend turned out to not be an emergency, but they took good care of Oscar and made us both feel better about the situation. I took my dog there for a hurt shoulder and they ran test and everything.. they came back and told me it was a sprang elbow. This took them around 15 mins from me getting there. I took her home and gave her the pain pills they prescribed and 3 days later she died. You cant die from a sprang, and because of them hurrying they're carelessness my dog died. They don't care about the job they just care about getting your money and getting you out.

Wonderful place. My Dax, a beautiful Sheltie, received excellent care when she was dying; I was able to take her home and say goodbye, see her momentarily improve with palliative care. When I had to send her on, the people here were very compassionate. During the entire experience, every member of the clinic, from front desk personnel to the different veterinarians, were kind, informed, and extremely helpful. Thank you, everyone. You made a difficult experience a little easier.

took a bunch of money to tell me my kitten had to be put to sleep. They knew beforehand and charged me for that while I was super emotional. Set up a better way to deal with these situations. Pet insurance doesnt do much and nobody wants to put their animal to death bc of lack of funds. And they spelled her name wrong on her paw print we bought. Emergencies are expensive, and my kitten was worth 500 to see what was wrong, but 1500 for a night of oxygen is a big upcharge.

My elder dog (red nosed pitt) was having seizures. We took him in and they were all so wonderful with him. I have had incidents with other vets acting intimidated over my Chino. They were so kind and caring towards him. They helped us and Chino really liked them all too. Usually vets make him nervous because he has had some manhandle him which I felt was unnecessary. They did not treat him like that. They were very gentle and soothing. I was so impressed with their care and professionalism. I highly recommend them. I tell all my family and friends about how wonderful the staff and vet have been with us.

We saw Dr. Bill Miller, the animal eye doctor, here. I have Shar Peis and they almost always need eye tacks and entropion surgery. Dr. Miller is an absolute artist! He made the tiniest stitches in Blu's eyelids and all the members of the Shar Pei Health Facebook group I posted her picture to commented on how good her eyes look. He's also very knowledgeable and truthful: I have another Pei I adopted as an adult and he has several problems with his eyes even though he had surgery in another state before I adopted him. Dr. Miller told me if he operated on his eyes, the problem would just get worse. I am thankful and really respect him for his honest opinion.

My kitty "Bo Diddley" started having repetitive seizures - best guess he got into some poison. Took him here at midnight. He needed 24 hour surveillance. Bo Diddley is still with us but has epilepsy. Their association with MS State gave them access to neurological specialists and Internal med specialists and helped greatly in navigating a very odd and critical situation. This went on for weeks. Bo became quite a regular. Dr. Philips and others took a special interest. I saw a lot of animals in and out of this place and was fully impressed with the place. Yes it is expensive. But its the only place that has overnight surveillance.

Had to bring my GSP in on 4th of July...snakebite to the ear. Was contemplating bringing him somewhere on a holiday or waiting a day until regular vet opened. To my surprise, much cheaper than I had expected. So many web post and dog and snake bites costing over $1,000. Staff was extremely caring, and Mike Gowan, DVM was great. Eased our fears and got out cheaper than I do sometimes at regular vet. If you ever doubt having to utilize the 24-clinic, take your fur baby here. Will be back if something else comes up! Gave antibiotics and steroids, within 15 hours his swelling in his ear had decreased by 80%.

They were very nice and knowledgeable. BUT they gave an estimate of what our dog's surgery would cost, and there really was no other option but surgery or she (our poodle) probably wouldnt live long. They quoted $16-1700, but said it shouldnt go over that amount, even if it required a bit more attention during surgery or more meds, etc. Well.. the bill (after paying $400 before they would even see her in the beginning) totalled $2300!! Quite a frickin difference! So, for that reason i would NOT recommend. We were basically lied to. Thats just wrong!
