They have always been great with my animals.
For the past 3 years, I've taken all three of my pets to this clinic and had nothing but good things to say about there care. However, on June 26, 2019 I took my two dogs in to be bathed and groomed for the first time and when I picked my dogs up one of them had a swollen blood shot eye bulging from his face. All the staff at the front desk could tell me is that all they could figure is that shampoo had gotten into his eye and he had a reaction. Mind you my poor little baby had blood pooling around his eye for 5 days. They have him complimentary eye drops " to make it right if it was something they did" is what I was told they also said they would call the next day to follow up and see how he was doing and I never recieved a call. When I got him home that afternoon, he was not himself he wouldn't let anyone have anything to do with him for about 3 days. All he wanted to do was hide in his kennel. I took him back in today to check on it and the tech took him out of the room " to look at it" (all their equipment was in the back) even after I stated that I wasn't comfortable with him leaving the room. I was told that the vet would also have a look when she came in to see him, but yet again she didn't she just said he was fine and to keep using the drops provided. From the time I walked into the office until we left today my dog was more scared than I'd ever seen him act at the vet. His tail was tucked, he was digging his nails into my leg, his heart was racing, and he was drooling all over me. I've never seen him so terrified. I will NOT be taking my animals back to this place! Whatever is going on in the back behind closed doors needs to taken care of! However, I'm sure nothing will be done about the situation! No animal should be treated this way especially from people you're supposed to be able to trust with these poor animals lives!
They really care about your pet and do their very best. They also support local rescues so I love giving them my biz.
Hands down best veterinary clinic in Oxford, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Only place I will ever take my dogs to again!!!
I live in Tupelo and drive here any time my pups need to go to the vet (after trying many closer vets and being disappointed everytime). This place has, a friendly, knowledge staff, clean building, and everyone seems to genuinely care about what they do, during working hours their is always a vet there.
The staff at this clinic are so incredibly compassionate and attentive to your pet's needs. I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experiences there.
Just took my dog here on 12/26/17. Staff was very helpful and caring. It was an emergency and they took her right in the day after Christmas. Thanks so much from Lil Lady's human.
Had some positive and some negative experiences. First, the positive: My dog was suffering from a fungal allergy. He was scratching and losing hair. The vet assistant was very caring, and the vet gave my dog some meds that worked very well. I also boarded the dog over Spring Break. Now, the negative: When I came back to get him Monday, they had not bathed him as I had requested. B/c of the meds, his coat was caked with dead skin flakes; he looked awful and really needed that bath. His eyes were matted with mucus, which has never happened before. He was ravenous, a sign that he was not adequately fed. I wrote the clinic and sent pics, but I did not hear back from anyone. I will try them again because I have no complaints about his health care, but I will bring the boarding issues to their attention.
Love this place and how great they are with my animals!
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
I have been bringing my dogs here for over a decade. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The Vets are amazing. From all animals large to small they can help you. Whatever your needs, the Animal Clinic of Oxford, is there to help.
Great people, great with our dog!
Dr. Black was amazingly considerate and so helpful. He made us feel that we were in the best care possible. I highly recommend Animal Clinic of Oxford!
Love the vets. Most importantly, we trust them implicitly. They are smart and love what they do and love the animals.
I have a Great Pyrenees and they are NOT suppose to be shaved! Trimmed in areas fine but never shaved down to the skin! I dropped my boy off to get groomed(bathed blown out for his shedding nails and all that) he had a few knots that I couldn’t get brushed out so was expecting those FEW spots to be cut down short. What do I see when he comes through the door? A dog that looks like a lab! Most hair on him was on his head and his paws and the little lion tip on his tail!! This breed needs their coats to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter! It is 90-99 degrees outside and I am in school most of the day now! He can get sunburn and over heat extremely fast now if outside to long! Never going back and should have asked for a refund i wasn’t trying so hard not to cry!
While my experience with them ended up being very tragic, and I'm upset about a few things with this clinic, I am still mostly pleased with that staff at Animal Clinic of Oxford. The attendants are very kind, caring and loving with the pets that come in.
Dr. Are knowledgeable and kind. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
On the evening of Sunday June 2, my puppy was playing and got her arm twisted up in the recliner and she started crying and screaming, I was not even able to touch her. I immediately called the vet and left a voicemail for the on call vet that night. I continued to call and eventually got a call back. I explained the situation and that I was not even able to pick my puppy up without her screaming. The doctor told me because she was a puppy that she is flexible and probably just has muscle soreness and proceeded to tell me just to give her a baby aspirin. She said that she could come in to see her but it would just be a waste of 100$ because there was nothing she could do for her that night. Being a concerned mother I knew that she had broken something and called Bottletree animal clinic and she immediately answered and had me come in to evaluate her. The vet told me she would have never made it through the night with the amount of pain she was in. She gave her pain medicine and anti inflammatory medicine. When she felt her leg she knew that she had broken her elbow and made her comfortable enough to where she could sleep that night and come back in the morning for x-rays. The next day she had her leg amputated. I was disappointed to see someone disregard the amount of pain my dog was in and how upset I was on the phone. I have dismissed my dogs from this practice and have switched over to bottletree animal clinic because they went above and beyond for my dog and showed that they loved her as much as I do.
I don't like them taking my furbabies away from me for their examinations.
I went with concern about my puppy liking her stitches after being spayed, she was licking them open from what i saw. they told me she was fine and actually removed a stitch and i was sent home with out a cone or anything from preventing her from licking them further. That night she licked her stitches open and i had to return the next day to have them re-stitched, i was then also charged and had to pay for an emergency vet visit, when this all could have been prevented the day before. so i do not recommend this vet, they clearly are not as concerned about the pets as they are about money. i went to prevent that from happening and no steps were taken to prevent it.
they always seem very eager to treat ones pets.. .
Get ready to shell out some cash caused they are way overpriced. I also don't like how they took my dog into another room to do the exams. They gonna charge me for the test. I would like to at least see them do it.
The people here are super freindly. They are always helpful and take their time to ensure you fully understand what is happening.
Always had good experiences here for the last four years
Great place
As always they take great care of our animals. The staff is courteous and caring.
For the record, I wanted to give these idiots no stars. The staff is INCREDIBLY rude. I adopted a dog from Oxford and needed his records pulled and sent to my new vet. Me and my new vet called multiple times, getting a different response each time. The last time I called, they told me I'd have to contact the local humane society. When I called the humane society, they told me the clinic could have and should have provided me the records. I guess since my dog was no longer a patient, they didn't have the time to help me ensure he was healthy and up to date on everything. I've NEVER encountered such rudeness at ANY vet I've ever gone to.
Dr. Wilson is AMAZING!!!!! I have never been to such a considerate and caring vet office. Have always been SO nice to me and my kitty, George. We love the whole office.I will be taking my furry children here for as long as I can.
We had an emergency with our cat, Missy. She was running a temperature of 105. They met us at the animal clinic at 9 PM, gave her shots, medicine, and treated her for everything that was wrong. She's on the mend now! The veterinarian was absolutely wonderful with Missy and took such good care of her. I highly recommend the Animal Clinic of Oxford!
Good careing vets
Our two dogs are well treated. Staff and doctors are very helpful and friendly.
I love how nice the girls are at the front desk.
They take extra step ... My dogs enjoy their visit ... Every time
They've taken great care of all our pets for years. Friendly and helpful
Dr. Payne was wonderful. Clinic was clean. Staff was friendly.
No call back from staff. I was told i would recieve call back yesterday but didnt get one. I called them today and staff was just real rude. Why i have no idea. Shelby or shelly whatever her name is was just rude. guess she has more important things to do than her job. IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB SHELBY FIND ANOTHER ONE. Very unprofessional .
Good with your pets
I've visited most of the vets in Oxford and the ones here at Animal Clinic of Oxford are the most knowledgeable about my housecat's issues. The were by far the most communicative and willing to educate me about the issues in as much detail as I, a huge nerd, wanted. They were also somewhat less expensive than most places around here and their careful follow-up is the best in town.
It is a good veteran
Saved my dog from parvo!
I've always had a good experience with this vet. They take the time to make sure they're making the right call when diagnosing your pet. I drive 45 minutes out of my way to take my pets here. They are by far better than any other vet I've visited locally.
So kind and attentive.
Very helpful and very caring people
Very nice people. Always clean. Never had a bad experience.
We have two dogs and both have had their share of issues. The team here comes through every time. We see Dr. Payne and his service is exemplary. We have had emergencies during business hours and after hours and were helped immediately in both regards. We have done everything from puppy shots, micro chipping, specialized testing, teeth cleaning, yearly shots/check up, and special visits for sickness including vomiting, stomach bloating, allergic reactions, ear infections, etc. No matter the circumstance, we are treated by friendly and professional staff and leave with any necessary medications or care instructions. I am so very thankful for Animal Clinic of Oxford because my dogs are in capable hands here!
If I could give them 10 stars I would! Absolutely love them. They are the only ones we will take our animals to. My family and my husbands family has been using them for years
We've been trusting our pets to this clinic for years. I've never had anything but 5-star service from the doctors and assistants. Dr Heaton went above and beyond to help my family with the end-of-life care for our sweet 16yr old cat. We were out-of-towners at the time, and yet we felt we were treated as if we had been established clients. Years later, Dr. Heaton and Dr. Wilson have adeptly provided routine care for our dog, and most recently, not-so-routine stuff with an injured stray kitten we just couldn't give up on. Compassionate, professional, and more -than reasonably priced.
I love this animal clinic.. they have always been friendly on the phone; they are attentive and timely.
Friendly and fast to get your pet in front of the vet, a little pricey.
Never saw such a contaminated place. They took me to the room to wait for the doctor and there was a table covered up in spit and blood from other animal. Don't you know you should clean up right away after the procedure?!!!!!! Hire the people who can ACTUALLY do their job good! Didn't you take microbiology or virology classes for your degree?! Every personnel should be properly trained before start their work, especially in any type medical facility. Also, I just got my cat back after her teeth got cleaned. She has a CUT on her ear, YOU cut my cat's ear for what reason? And how did it happen if you were supposed to clean her teeth (obviously without touching ears with instruments)?! At least if something happen, tell me. Why should I see this horror myself at home and question what happened (if she is gonna get some virus now too? thanks to yours facility "sterile rooms"). I will recommend everyone to watch out for the staff there, they are really mean by the end of the day. I was waiting 40 mins to get my cat back. I got medicine and payed everything in first 15 mins. The other 25 mins I just waited and was asked constantly by the girl WHO JUST GOT MY PAYMENT "what are waiting for?" Hello, MY CAT, DAH.....I obviously didn't come to hang around or sit around feeling bad for other animals. Finally, I got my cat back by throwing the carrier with her inside of it almost to my face!!!! What type of the animal clinic it is? Where is everyone's education and manners.
Fast, efficient, and friendly
Dr. Lee answered our emergency call right away and my dog was in surgery within an hour of that call. He saved my dog without a doubt. I found the price to be fair, less than what I was expecting honestly. Dr Lee was friendly and did not act anything but pleased to be able to help, both the night of the emergency and at the followup visit.
Best care in Oxford. They have several animal doctors on staff. All of them provide exceptional service and are top notch experts in their specified field of practice. I have owned a large breeding and Training Facility for almost two decades and have brought all of my personal animals and all of my clients animals to this facility. I truly have no complaints or negative experiences. I currently bring my personal service dog to this Clinic and drop him off with absolute Trust that he is in wonderful hands. Thank you all at Animal Clinic of Oxford. -Dogman
They are a awesome group my baby Bama got parvo when he was only 2 1/2 months and it was on a sat evening when i noticed he wasnt acting right so i called the emergency vet mrs hannah heaten she told me what to do so he would be ok til monday, i did what she said and on monday i took him in . He stayed til wed amd came home and about one month ago my cat Blackie could not pee i took him in and the new vet gave him two shots and he is doing great now. I love all of the staff front desk girls are always so sweet and helpful. THANKS OXFORD ANIMAL CLINIC
Called there emergency line because my cat had gotten to her spay stitches. She was spayed at OLHS. When texting the on call doctor a picture of the wound he said it didn't look like a spay incision. Well, I took my cat in for the procedure so I know what kind of incision it was. After him being pretty rude and sounding inconvenienced, he gave us some advice. Then, after getting off the phone he texted my number back talking smack about me! Asking his coworkers, he texted me asking if this was on of their procedures and then made fun of us for being worried about our cat! One star because he at least told us what to do in the mean time, but was rude and inconsiderate.
Love this place ..awesome people ...awesome vet ..awesome care
