Without going into a really long story, just don't take your pets to Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital . In short, one of the veterinarians hurt my dogs's ear drum during a cleaning then another vet later prescribed a potent medication that has severe side effects without informing me about it and it lead to my puppy's death. Just simply stay away from this veterinary office. The level of negligence and focus on exacting the most payment out of their clients is something I never thought I'd see, the last two years have been an immense amount of stress and grief when dealing with them. These people don’t care about anything except money!

my partner and i brought our dog in because she was lethargic and not eating and doctor lee told us she had arthritis, indigestion, and was just getting old. she didn't do any testing (i think she was trying to save us money, which is nice but not what we came to her for) and instead gave us a pain medication to administer to our dog which we were told might make her a little drowsy--it knocked her out completely. cut to a week and and two other vets later, we are at an emergency animal hospital putting our dog to sleep because it turned out she had intestinal cancer. more work should have been done by dr. lee; she should have known something was off and done more testing and not just written her off as "old". before we ended up at the emergency hospital, we went to my regular vet (TSAH is a back up for when my regular vet isn't available) because we wanted a second opinion and he knew RIGHT AWAY that something was seriously wrong with our dog. he did an ultrasound and diagnosed her with cancer. the point of my review is to encourage the TSAH to do better work. yes, it is an OK place if you need basic things done. but do not go here for more nuanced diagnostic work, the type which requires effort and intuition on the part of the doctor. because clearly they don't have it.

I have used Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital since the early 1970s. Four of my dogs have been treated primarily there over the years. My current dog, a 16+ year old poodle/terrier mix, has benefited in many ways at Tribeca. They discovered a heart murmur years ago, and he's been doing fine on medication since. Whatever problems my dogs have run into, I have known that I could count on the vets (and the staff) at Tribeca to work with professionalism, empathy and optimistic encouragement. I would recommend Tribeca to any pet owner. Every doctor I've met there has been responsive and capable.

Over the years my wife and I have taken our 3 cats and 5 dogs to the vet. The doctors are always very nice and very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone with a pet.

LOVE Dr. Lee! She takes amazing care of our cats. I’ve been to multiple vets in the city, and she’s the best. Genuinely cared about my babies, explained everything to me in terms I could understand. And was very upfront about costs. Highly recommend them.

Vets at TriBeCa are smart, logical and reliable. I still bring my dog here even after I moved to Brooklyn over a year ago. Big fan!

I shall always be grateful for this Animal Hospital and its sister hospital in the West Village for taking care of my cats through the years. They care about animals and also have a good "bed side" manner with the pet's humans . This is especially comforting when dealing with emergencies, life threatening illness, or end of life care, all of which we experienced with our cat, Albert. When we moved from Tribeca to the West Village we were happy to find the sister hospital, West Village Vet. Hospital. Because the two hospitals share online records, we had a seamless transition for our pets. Albert was able to live a very long and comfortable life despite a variety of illnesses along the way, because of the care he received from these two veterinary hospitals. At the end, when he was 20+ and ailing, West Village was very caring and gentle with us all, helping us with the decision to euthanize him. They now take care of our 13 year old and we are very happy that they are there for us.

Dr. Lee smiles a lot, but is a terrible veterinarian, greedy, heartless and incompetent, the clinic is unaffordable. Do NOT take your pet to this clinic for any type of surgery, however minor. I did not know this, unfortunately, and took my precious dog in when she swallowed part of a toy and had to have surgery for a stomach obstruction. The surgery was botched, and when she came home, she was unable to keep any food down. Though this may have been considered normal at first, this went on for a while, until they finally had me bring her in for a follow-up surgery to fix the issue. The follow-up surgery went even worse, and she had to stay at the clinic for a few days afterward. When I called to check on her, they said that they had her in a special incubator to keep her warm. She wasn't doing well. I had a bad feeling and went up to the clinic to check on her. She was incredibly frail and sickly and looked as if she were on her last leg. I followed my instinct and took her out of their care, driving straight to an animal emergency hospital on the westside. The doctor there determined that she needed surgery immediately since her stomach had not been repaired properly. There my poor baby had her third surgery in the space of just a few weeks when this is typically supposed to be a standard, easy surgery. Luckily under proper care, she was able to make a full recovery (though she was never able to eat "normal" food again and had to eat prescription food). I very much regret trusting Dr.Lee with her surgery and would advise anyone against doing the same.

If you love your dog, your cat, your pet, DON'T bring them here. This place is all about the Benjamins, they will offer what the call "the gold star treatments" ($$$$$), offer all the most expensive treatments possible, even if the Over treatment and Over prescription of untested medications, it will make your loved one very ill, they will order more treatments, torturing your dearest friend to death and maxing out your credit cards. The lack of empaty and responsibility is shocking. Save your pet's life, don't bring it to these vultures, or you will end up heart broken & broke!

We've taken 2 pets here for more than 6 years. Everyone is very helpful and most of all, they truly care about your pets and you.

The true test of a vet is how she performs when the chips are down, when your dog is old and ailing and doesn't have long for this world. Tribeca Soho was incredible, particularly Dr. Timmi Lee. Always kind and compassionate, never hurried and brusque, Dr. Lee was sage in her advice about when to pursue expensive treatments and when to let nature take its sad, but wiser course. When my dog, Harly, was too weak to get on the examining table, Dr. Lee would plop down on the floor to examine him, stroking his fur and even sometimes giving him kisses. And after he died, she sent a beautiful handwritten card, which a day later was joined by another one from everyone on the staff. I brought Harly to Tribeca Soho when he was about a year old and, later, after I moved uptown, I tried another vet. Though she, too, was good, the level of care and genuine concern at Tribeca Soho was incomparable. So though it was a big schlep, I returned to Tribeca Soho where I stayed to the end and where I will return, when we get a new dog, no matter where in the City we live.

I have been using this clinic for about 15 years, through the lives of several of my cats. Their vets are always informative & helpful &, with my latest cat, a 9-year-old orange tabby, they pulled him through a really bad sickness that he had unfortunately come with, when I adopted him at the age of 8. Furthermore, the other people who work there are uniformly friendly & helpful--& they remember you & your pets.

While the people are nice, my experience was not so nice. I brought my 19 year old blind and deaf chihuahua in because of a cough she occasionally gets because of a collapsed trachea she's had since she was born. My dog had been here before, so they had her records and knew of her existing problem. My dog's cough was bad and she needed relief... the same cough syrup this vet gave her the year before. When I called to just get a prescription, they pulled the old "we can't unless we see her" bit. Really? It's a cough. So i take her in... now the $50 cough medicine is going to cost me an additional $90 for the office visit. Doctor says "we need to take x-rays and blood work and all that jazz".. I'm like "IT"S A COUGH... SAME COUGH SHE's had LAST YEAR and same cough she's had the previous 19 years.... we just need cough medicine!" Doctor says... it could be something else we don't know. Long story short (too late)... $800 later, she comes back and tells me "it's a cough related to her trachea"... REALLY SHERLOCK? You needed a medical degree for that? I was so irate... $50 cough medicine cost me $850 dollars!!! What a rip off. I prefer a veterinarian who sees the whole picture and doesn't make you spend unnecessary money. SO.. you might say "what if it was something else... wouldn't you want to know?" NO! My dog is almost 20 years old.... she's too old!!! Even if we discovered it was something else, she's too old to help. At 20 years old we should be making our dogs as comfortable as possible... not sedating them and giving them X-rays and taking their blood... WHAT EXACTLY WAS THE DOCTOR GOING TO DO IF IT TURNED OUT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE? NOTHING!!! SO i email the doctor to let her know how furious I was being taken advantage of like that... and got no response... typical. GO TO CHELSEA VETERINARIAN HOSPITAL INSTEAD... THEY NOT ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR DOGS, THEY CARE ABOUT THE OWNERS TOO.

I have used this practice for decades going back to when Dr. Burns was more active. It has served me well over the years. While vet care from highly skilled individuals is not inexpensive, particularly here in NYC, I have never felt gouged or that the manner of care was motivated by money. My now 18 year old dog's health was consistently well tended to in an unrushed setting that did not in any way discourage questions or ignore concerns.
