Very unprofessional, rude, and poor business practices! The quality of medical treatment is lacking so if you care about you pets stay away from Pet Central Animal Hospital. This place does more harm than good. Every staff member pretends to care about the animals and your concerns but this is not the case. Your animal might end up dead if you go to this place.

I have 2 dogs - a 14 year old lab and 6 year old retriever. The lab has had a number of ailments as of late, including a bout of vomiting. Staff got her in to the vet ASAP and the vet followed up over the next few days to see how she was doing. Staff is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Prices are reasonable and office is very clean. They're awesome with my dogs! I would recommend to anyone looking for a vet!

I had an unfortunate incident there though when one of the other vets was parked blocking the handicap ramp so I had to leave my mother in the van and when I expressed my anger about it he called me a "fat pig"

You're in the business of customer service greeting and assisting PAYING folks to have you take care of their "children"...would a smile kill y'all? It can already be stressful being there... 3/8/18 - I was called by Pat (I believe) this morning asking how Jaxson was after his anal gland surgery and she also apologized for the experience that I had based upon the initial review above. While my experience cannot be changed, the phone call this morning asking about my boy, and again apologizing will go a LONG ways in my continued patronage here.

I called Pet Central yesterday to inquire about stem cell therapy for my beagle mix, who ruptured a disc over the weekend and had emergency surgery on his spine. He is currently unable to walk, with little to no feeling in his hind legs, so the prognosis is not great. Still, I'm pulling out all the stops for my little guy and willing to do anything that may help him. I spoke with Dr Nelson, who told me (without meeting my dog, without asking about his pre-surgical condition, without asking much of anything other than how much I paid for the surgery) that my dog will probably never walk again. I told him that while I'm realistic about the prognosis, this contradicts everything I was told by the neurosurgeon and my regular vet, as well as the research I've read in vet journals online. For this alone I would not recommend this clinic.

Gizmo had bladder stones and was blocked. Talked about what was in price range. Meaning what is the most needed to save his life but not have to break the bank. I'm so glad they kept trying....he was really blocked.

They seemed wonderful....... they played in to my concern for my pet........ a scratch on face turned into 2 abscesses, root canals, x-rays, possible more teen while under(150.00 each) and 1,000.00 bill! I declined the treatment and realized later it was a little scratch the size of a eyelash that got infected and turns out the antibiotic was all that was needed.... It was a 50.00 visit, 50.00 antibiotic, that turned in to 150.00 bill with a 1,000.00 extraction estimate. The office was unorganized and there was a dead orange cat lying on the table in the back room where they invited me and my 3 year old to look at my cat who was being examined on the table next to him. They seemed okay but Hindsight is 20/20 I have had my pets for 11,13 and 15 years and I have been seen at a lot of clinics. I would suggest Nokomis pet clinic in south Minneapolis, wonderful vet!

Saved my cat's life. Pet Central staff were accommodating, friendly, understanding and above all competent in dealing with an urgent breathing problem. Staff is patient and prices are reasonable. They know of other clinics that do over-night and 24-hour monitoring even though they don't specifically offer those services. They are efficient with phones/scheduling, and parking is easy.

We have been taking our two dogs and two cats to Pet Central for about three years. We especially like Dr. Faas and Dr. Devitt. Both spend ample time with our animals and have gotten to know them. They are gentle and explain things well. A couple of years ago the front desk wasn't that friendly but that has really improved these days. Overall I trust them and would highly recommend them.

Prices seemed very high. 191 dollars for three shots and a heartworm test. Had to ask twice to get a prescription as a result of my dogs heartworm test, they only wanted me to buy medication from them. In previous visit for my dogs haircut. After paying 75 dollars for the haircut, was asked by the reception to add a tip multiple times.

Dr Ngo showed a deep and comprehensive knowledge related to our guinea pig Rupert. She found what was bothering him when we as pig parents couldn't figure it out. Later, Rupert had another problem and we were able to get him in with Dr Faas very quickly. She was knowledgeable and professional and made us feel at ease.

I have heard several terrible stories of animals being boarded here and being neglected. I would never recommend someone leaving their pets here. I have seen pictures of dogs covered in urine and feces, dogs that I personally know and have watched that have never had 1 accident. I saw another dog that was mistreated today. Please if you care about your pets take them somewhere else.

Way overpriced. I was quoted over twice the amount that Uptown Vet charges for a dental cleaning for my dog. Also, the vet was extremely unpleasant. I will never go back.

Doctor John Dirksen was so understanding and intelligent with our dog Chance's needs. He was very straight forward, along with being knowledgeable about our beagles needs. We knew our dog had allergies, but knew vet costs would be a lot, so once the time came to financially take him in, he was so understanding and didn't judge. We tried home remedies and Amazon products to help his ear infections, but he needed to see a specialist. When my husband brought him in, he felt so at ease with John. He was given multiple meds and great feedback, without feeling like a worthless pet owner. Yes, our pets are our family, but times get tough and we did have him seen. I want to thank John for saving our fur babies life. He is very down to earth and genuine along with being honest to his patients. Thank you Pet Central.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Pet Central Animal Hospital. I just moved to the NE neighborhood and was very excited to have a vet just blocks from my new home but on my first visit to Pet Central, they literally forgot me in the room for 20+ minutes before I had to hunt someone down and let them know I was still waiting for the vet tech to come in. They were super unprofessional and unorganized, I definitely would never recommend anyone to them or go there again. I will sadly have to find another vet in the NE area.

I had to take my neighbor's dog here while he was on vacation- the poor old girl had a seizure early in the morning. A nurse met me at the door and opened it for me as I was carrying this 90 lb dog. I brought her in and they assessed her calmly, gave her fluids and even sat on the floor with her while I face timed my neighbor to inform him what was going on.

The day before yesterday, our cat could not hold any food down. We brought him to Pet Central yesterday because a vet wouldn't be at our usual place and we ended up liking this place more. They were able to get us in to see the vet first thing in the morning with very little wait time, and Dr. Hilary did X-rays and showed them to us. She gave the cat barium to settle his stomach, the staff set us up with bland food for him to eat later, and they said to call or just come in the next day if he gets sick again. Since then, he has eaten the food, kept it down, and used his liter box. Pet Central was amazing; their prices are a lot lower than our regular place, and Dr. Hilary is a lot nicer than our regular vet. She explained everything and kept us calm when we were worried. I would definitely recommend this place and Dr. Hilary specifically.

One of the most important things I look for in a vet is trust and the vet I saw at Pet Central was far from gaining it. My pug has had food allergies in the past which led me to switch to a grain free raw dehydrated food about a month ago. Unfortunately she lost some weight with the raw diet. While the vet and I were on the same page with giving my pug more calories she admitted a lack of knowledge with raw diets for dogs. She did however proceed to encourage me to find a bag of kibble in the vet's store out front while emphasizing the point that if I buy 12 bags the 13th is free. I was then told my dog's left ear looked infected and I agreed for her to do a swab of the ear with lab tests which at the time I was quoted 20.00. Once the lab results indicated the need for medication the vet forgot which ear was infected. I was given medicine and told I would need to come back for a check up in 2 weeks. My bill in return was twice the price of the quote. The vet at Pet Central had poor knowledge of food, inconsiderate price quoting and pushiness toward purchasing the food in the lobby. I will not return.

My son took his puppy here that was in need of special care. He called on a Saturday and they were able to see his puppy that same day within an hour and a half. Dr. John Dirksen was the Vet that took care of Nala. He showed great concern and compassion for Nala who had a lot of issues going on and was very uncomfortable. He got to the root cause of what was going on and took his time deciding what was best for her and really explained everything. I am very confident in the diagnosis and treatment plan and expect to see Nala doing well soon. Thank you so much for your love and concern for my sons puppy, Amani and I appreciate it so much! I will definitely be coming to you with our other dog in the near future! Thank you so much! Oh and the rest of the staff was great as well!

Horrible experience. Place is like a meat market. Waited half an hour for a room to open up with a cat in critical kidney failure that was not diagnosed correctly two days earlier. Their idea of hospitialization is a cage in the middle of the clinic with staff constantly walking by making noise creating a very stressful environment.The doctor was supposed to call me with an update, but I never got one. The next morning they left me a voice message my fur baby passed away. I would never trust them with another one of my pets. Please consider another vet hospital/clinic!

Such a great experience! Brought in my new Morkie puppy yesterday for her round of shots and check up. The front desk people were so friendly, they got to get to know her. The doctor was very personable and caring. This is my first puppy. When I brought her home she got really woozy and was in pain. I got scared and called them. I'm having to re-submit my review after they deleted their Facebook page (prompted by low ratings, I presume). I switched vets to All Pets Animal Hospital after Pet Central 1) administered the incorrect shots to my dog and 2) neglected to let my other dog out of his kennel for 24+ hours during boarding (he sat in his own mess all weekend) without calling to inform of alleged aggressive behavior.

I brought my cat here for routine shots/checkup, and had a positive experience. They got me in relatively quickly, and the vet seemed to be very thorough and generally care about my cat, as opposed to just "going through the motions." Another plus was the complete absence of the typical "vet office stink" I have noticed at other places in the past. I will definitely be a repeat customer for annual shots/checkups.

My 2 mini rex bunnies were neutered at Pet Central yesterday. They trimmed both bunnies nails for free and took really good care of them. I was allowed to go in to see them after the op and they both had large clean cages with clean towels, food and water. The incision site is very clean on both bunnies, they were eating moving around again the same night. Pet Central did a great job, Jessica was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended :)
