The staff at the Baldwin could not be better or professional. They are not only learned in the Veterinary world of animal care, but they are compassionate, and communicate with the owners of pets. Ever since I had an emergency with a dog on a Saturday afternoon and the Doctor Saslow took him in and tended to his wounds, I would not consider any other Veterinary service. Dr. Saslow is a gem of a vet! He always takes his time and truly seems to care about my dog (and my previous dog, who he was amazingly compassionate about when the time came for her to transition to the next life) and me. When needed he has referred me to specialists and one told me "You're lucky to have Dr. Saslow as your vet...he's the best diagnostician I know." The staff is also terrific! Friendly and caring. I moved from the neighborhood but still bring my dog to Dr. Saslow when needed because I trust him. If your pet is simply a pet you can go anywhere, however, I highly recommend Dr. Saslow and Baldwin Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their pet like a family member.

My vet in Baldwin (Dr Dattner) retired and we decided to bring our two cockapoos to a new office. Several people we trust, recommended Dr Saslow at Baldwin Animal Hosp on Grand Ave. Excellent experience with staff and doctor. One of our dogs just needed vaccines and the other one was ill. Dr Saslow and staff truly cared, were thorough and provided excellent care. He explained the illness, ran tests, provided us with an initial differential diagnosis and a plan. Very impressed! I have been going to Baldwin Animal Hospital for years. The care that all of my dogs have received from Dr Saslow, Dr Munro and the entire staff has been loving, personal and exceptional. My dogs have been happy to go to the vet because they always get a loving welcome. My last dog went through cancer and was able to have a couple more really good years because of treatment coordinated and supervised by Dr. Saslow and Dr. Munro. Dr. Neal Saslow & his staff are very Kind, Friendly, Compassionate, Through & Knowledgeable. Dr. Saslow will give you options, as far as care, that's just right for your financial situation so you can give your "fur baby" optimum care. The facility is easy to find, plenty of parking in the rear of the building and was very clean in the large waiting room & exam room. Entire payment is due on the date of service. For an exam, it cost $82. & of coarse, other services & meds/supplements are additional. Overall, I'm happy we found them! ☺

We have had 4 dogs taken care of by Dr. Saslow and Baldwin Animal Hospital over the past 25 years. We used to live closer and now travel from Plainview to Baldwin because we get the best care, knowledge and love any vet and staff could give. We originally were referred to Dr. Saslow for a recurring ear issue that several other vets misdiagnosed and inappropriately treated. Dr. Saslow cleared that up and has been our vet ever since. One weekend I was concerned one of my dogs was having a hip issue. Dr. Saslow met me at a Starbucks to take a look because he wasn’t working that day. He truly cares about our pets. Kudos to him for finding Dr. Munro and the best staff. Every one of them greets our dogs with love and affection. We highly recommend Baldwin Animal Hospital.

The staff is always very friendly when I walk in. The lobby is bog, clean and neat. Sometimes I have to wait a bit for my appointment, but the vet always has my cat and I in and out. He knew exactly what to do to make my cat better with his thyroid. The nurses are always super sweet and seem to really love all the animals.

More than 20 years ago, I was fortunate to find Dr. Saslow and the Baldwin Animal Hospital for my past and present dogs. I have had many good experiences, but would like to present my greatest experience - Dr. Saslow saved my dog's life in October, 2013. Jerry was acting strange, couldn't seem to move, and was hyperventilating, just minutes after chasing squirrels around the yard. When I called the office, I was immediately taken in and told the doctor was in surgery. The staff quickly realized that this was an emergency, and in no time Jerry was x-rayed, medicated for pain. Several staff members were surrounding Jerry, comforting him. I was quickly told that Jerry was critical - a tumor in his spleen had ruptured and he was bleeding internally. Jerry needed surgery, and Dr. Saslow told me that this type of surgery often does not have a good outcome. Dr. Saslow remained in touch with me several times that day and even called me after hours to tell me that Jerry was doing his usual singing (Jerry likes to howl, often, for no apparent reason.) Not only did he do well, he was attempting to chase squirrels again 3 days after surgery and it was difficult to get him to rest! I commend Dr. Saslow for his honesty, his surgical expertise, and his vast knowledge of veterinary medicine. He is always kind, and his staff is always accommodating. They are affectionate with the animals, have laughed and cried with me over the years, and the majority of his staff has been with him for several years, which in itself speaks volumes. 3+ months later, Jerry is still chasing squirrels!

We have been going to Dr Saslow for more than a decade. Switching from our regular vet after he graciously extended an invitation to my eldest daughter Melissa's Girl Scout Troop to tour the facility to earn their Animal Care Badge! We have had our animal family's share of good and bad health problems throughout the years, All Treated with Respect and Compassion by everyone at Baldwin Animal Hospital. Last year we lost our beloved boy Buddy from Lymphoma, and I don't know how we would of gotten through that time without the help and support from Dr. Saslow, Dr. Munroe, Debbie,Tyler, Ruthie, Jeannie, Michelle and the rest of the staff. Remi, just got a clean bill of health after Dr Saslow inspected a mass in her lower lip at her yearly check up. After clearing his schedule to preform surgery a few days later, we had the happy report of it's being benign by the end of the week! I highly recommend Baldwin Animal Hospital. This was a referral. I must say I was pleasantly surprised as I entered the door. I was greeted in a most friendly and sincere manor. The Front Desk girl was just so polite I thought I walked into a high society training class. After the niceties I was throughly asked about my dog and any behavioral differences I might have noticed right down to the potty and tinkling, what color of potty and it’s consistently, hard odor color of urine and amount of times a day and also his breath. Now that was a good start and it took my anxiety about trusting this place away. I went in with the doctor and was re asked the same questions and a few more. Good, the Dr. was backing up the front desks preliminary report. As the doctors hands moved about my Murphy I knew I could leave him and go to work. He was in good hands. PS: Murphy was in good shape the next day and oh so happy to go home. But I think he got to many kisses there and now expects to get them from me. We’ll have to work on that. Thanks Guys!

My regular Vet. Didn't have availability for my pup until late in the afternoon so I called his other Vet. With no success either, after many calls to other Vet. Practices I came upon Baldwin Animal hospital and read the amazing reviews, luckily enough they had availability for my pup in less than 2 hours, I was so relieved. From the moment the receptionist picked up the phone until the moment we walked out they where completely AMAZING!!! Extremely attentive, loving, caring, compassionate and Dr. Munro did not ordered any unnecessary tests, she and the Technician made me feel at ease, knowing my Shar-Pei was in good hands, I would definitely recommend Baldwin Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for a Vet, they will care for your pup as if it's their own and they are reasonably priced.
