We decided to board our pet dog here because she's an oldish puppy with lots of energy. And, as a recent rescue, she needed some help with a few of her behavior challenges. The boarding facility here is clean, our dog got completely and happily exhausted each day at the Doggie Day Care and the dog training program is the best we've found in the Traverse City area. The head dog trainer, Janet Dipirro, has over 20 years of experience training dogs and it shows. She uses positive training methods and after the three weeks she worked with our dog, she helped us understand several peculiarities of our dogs personality and how to work with her so she could become a calmer family member. We've decided to join her weekly dog training classes where we learn how important body language and consistency are as we shape our dogs public behavior. If dogs are the question, Janet is the answer!

I love this place. The staff is wonderful. We walk in and they know us, and our two cats by name. My cats love the staff, even when they are getting shots or other uncomfortable treatments. We get great explanations, advice, and professionalism without being robotic. They are a little on the pricy side, but I have no problem paying for the quality of care I'm getting. Would recommend to anyone. Will drive a far distance to continue using them.

I am a local and prior customer of VCA Cherry Bend. Overall, I was very satisfied with the care given to my dog, both health and grooming. Along the way, things greatly changed when they incorporated. Not as personal and lack of attention, quick visits, difficulty with vet/groom scheduling and most costs for services quite increased. It was hard for me to make changes, yet there was no 'working things out', so I could continue on with VCA. So sorry.

Took our kitten here because of a "free first checkup" coupon for new pets. First off they didn't honor the coupon because "it's only if your cat isn't sick" so I guess if you want to get your cat weighed for free come on down to Cherry Bend. I'm perfectly willing to pay to keep my cat healthy but since I was scammed with a useless coupon I'll go somewhere else. Furthermore, they didn't even treat her completely. They noticed the sneeze and ear mites and treated her for fleas, ear mites and worms but failed to do anything about the upper respiratory sickness so here my cat is 2 weeks later still sneezing constantly, but they did make sure to spend half of the appointment trying to upsell me on their "VCA CarePlan" monthly payment. To end on a good note, all the staff seemed very nice and personable, it's a shame that VCA is trying to make them salespeople instead of allowing them to focus on providing your pets with good healthcare.

They treated my friends cat very roughly. I was petsitting when it got sick. It both bit and scratched the vet. The cat was misdiagnosed and I had to take him to a different vet to get properly diagnosed. Also they are more expensive than other vets offices.
