May 18th, I paid $17 to have my 9 yr old harlequin Great Dane's nails trimmed. I noticed when I picked her up that she had been quicked twice. Her nails had been cut to the fur for heaven's sake. I am not one to make a scene but when I pointed it out to an employee all I got was a shrug. My elderly dog suffered unnecessary pain at your clinic. For $17 I expected professionalism. See attached for pics. I will never bring an animal to this place again

I followed Dr. John Sheard from another vet's office to Sutton's Bay Animal Hospital, and am so glad I did. He's a great vet with enormous patience, and he's fun - my dog loves him! I appreciate his willingness to treat my dog conservatively, and humor my quirkiness (he has the patience of a saint!!). Dr. Sheard is a compassionate, honest, knowledgeable vet, and I'm so grateful for him. I'm not familiar with the other vets at this practice, but the office staff and assistants are all extremely kind, professional and friendly. I highly recommend taking your pet to Dr. John Sheard at Suttons Bay Animal Hospital!!

Dr. Morrison has been our vet for over 15 years. Thirteen years ago, he started taking great care of our yellow lab. Yesterday, he helped our dog leave the pain he was experiencing. Dr. Morrison was gracious, professional and personable. His bedside manner with our dog in his last few minutes was compassionate and thoughtful. I appreciate Dr. Morrison and his staff for doing such a great job of taking care of our dog.

You told my sister her dog was going to have to be put down or taken to Grand Rapids in order to live! You wanted to charge her so much money and all you did was give her Great Dane an IV that’s it!!! Who tells that to someone! Well, our vet who was busy attending to other emergency animals had her bring her dog to HIS HOUSE and guess what 275.00 later she is is still surviving. No thanks to your Shi**y facility.

I would give Suttons Bay Animal Hospital 20 stars if I could. Dr. Sheard has been treating our sweet pup for lymphoma. We know how this is going to go but Dr. Sheard has been right there and has gone so far above and beyond I only wish he treated humans. Thank you John. I've worked with 8 vets in 4 cities over 30 years and can promise you, if you need care for your pet, there is no better place.

Refer by many friends/family to the clinic. We took our new Great Pyrenees Pup and had a great visit with Dr. Cochran. She answered all of our "new parent" questions and had the same philosophy of care that was important to us. Dr. Cochran took the time to educate us in a way that wasn't "my way or the highway" and made us feel very comfortable with the care our pup was receiving. Very impressed. We had a follow up appointment for a tick and saw Dr. Sheard as Dr. Cochran was out that day. Very impressed with him too and felt very reassured that no matter who we saw at the clinic, our baby would be in good hands. Pricing seemed spot on to me and even surprised me a little bit as I was terrified it was going to be a lot more. Recommend this place as I truly feel they are passionate about what they do. I was living in the area temporarily last year and brought my cat in for asthma issues. Dr. Sheard detected a heart murmur, which his previous vet hadn't. Although a heart murmur doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, I relayed the info back to our primary vet when we moved back downstate a couple months later. After a blood test that revealed elevated heart stress, a vet cardiologist diagnosed him with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and he is being treated with medication every day. I am so grateful to Dr. Sheard for detecting his heart murmur and raising that red flag. Although HCM isn't curable, it can be managed, and can easily go undetected until it is too late. Thanks Dr. Sheard for helping my cat, Noma!
