I moved back to the area around 8 months ago from Marquette, MI and was dreading finding a new veterinarian for my 3 year old Border Collie. I actually drove back up to Marquette twice to see her previous vet, Dr. Tim at Bay Shore Veterinary Hospital. Sometime between then and now, I adopted a cat from LTBHS, so when my dog came down with some unusual symptoms I decided to give the LTBHS vet clinic a try. It wasn’t an “emergency” but when the first appointment time that worked with my schedule was a few days away, I called another local vet that was recommended to me. Even though my dogs symptoms were very different than those of Kennel Cough or Canine Influenza, this other veterinarian labeled it as such and would not bring her inside to do additional testing. I knew there was something else going on, so I waited for the LTBHS appointment. I found Dr. Andreen to be amazingly informative and comforting. She quickly recognized that the symptoms were not those of kennel cough or influenza. She treated my pup for gastritis and esophagitis. It took some time on acid reflux medications, but it worked! My dog was back to her old silly self in a couple weeks. I have now also brought in my cat and felt very comfortable asking she and the veterinarian technicians all sorts of questions that only a first time cat owner would ask. They didn’t make me feel silly for asking said questions at all and the whole interaction was very comfortable. Thank you again LTBHS and I am so happy I found somewhere I feel my critters are in great hands!
