I have a 9 yr old Golden who when I take into the clinic is treated with great care by a professional staff. Dr. Jack and her staff take their time explaining things and the explanations given are always thorough and practical. The office is also always clean and welcoming! You can tell Dr. Jack is in the business for her love of animals.

Top-notch care. Our cat came down with an extreme urinary tract infection while we were on vacation. Thankfully, Dr. Greenfield was available to give Alice a thorough exam. She came up with a treatment plan that addressed the short-term crisis and one that helped Alice long-term. You who live in Alpena are lucky to have such a knowledgeable, compassionate veterinarian--and veterinarian staff--to take your pets to.

Friendly and nice people (for the most part) but altogether not very professional. We were flying with our pets and every required document we asked for they told us were not necessary. Turns out they were wrong and when we called to request the documents last minute they continuously argued with us and refused to give us them until they talked to an airline agent. Quite rude. The veterinarians themselves are professional and knowledgable but dont expect any help or knowledge from any assistant or receptionist. Not so much as an apology despite screwing up over half of our paperwork.

Always happy to accommodate your pets. There are two docs here and both are friendly and professional with a down to earth, caring attitude. They are not in it for the money, they do truly care about each animal. I have some odd pets, and they actually bought books to read up on how to care for them correctly. If that doesn't show that they care, I don't know what does!

Brought my female cat in for a spay and other routine preventative care recently and had a great experience- all members of staff were friendly and helpful towards me, not to mention very empathetic and kind to my animal. I called in having never been a customer before, and they fit me into their schedule the very next day. The cost of the treatments and procedure was very reasonable. Overall a great clinic with excellent staff- I would definitely recommend it.

I am a German Shepherd breeder and this place is my one stop shop. I sent my girl for an ultrasound and the docs handled her case well. I recently retired my older male so I took him in for a neuter and dental. Straightforward staff and pretty easy to get an appointment. They don’t try and up sell you but still provide comprehensive care.

Dr. Greenfield has been an awesome addition to the clinic for 6 years now! She is really polite and informative. Dr. Greenfield helped me try to save a newborn kitten that was abandoned, the kitten was doing great, really improving, except for a mishap that had nothing to do with Dr. Greenfields veterinary abilities. Dr. Jack is an amazing vet. A few years ago I had taken a friends dog here for super itchy skin and ear infections(another vet clinic just kept prescribing steroids, repeatedly) and Dr. Jack really took her time, asked many questions, really looked at the dog. She determined that the dog was most likely having an allergic reaction to something, whether it was food or environmental, and that the dog had been scratching so much she had a secondary infection. She prescribed meds for that and talked about how to narrow down what could be causing the problem. And viola! Problem fixed. Not just pumping her full of steroids either because they didnt really evaluate her and/or was just milking for money. I knew Alpena Veterinary Clinic was the right place for real answers. If you want honest truly helpful care for your animal(s), this is the right place!

When I got home from work yesterday, I discovered Orion in a great deal of pain ... He walked hunched up, would not tolerate being touched anywhere behind his front legs without yipping in pain, and couldn't even get into the truck by himself! I was afraid he'd swallowed something that was blocking his intestines or something. Dr. Jack examined him and determined and found a couple misaligned vertebra by his shoulders... she did some adjustments, gave him a mild pain reliever and this morning he is back to his energetic, mischievous self!!!! Thanks!!!
