REVIEWS OF Wignall Animal Hospital IN Massachusetts

We brought our dog here for the first time a few days ago. Everything is going smoothly! We just took our dog for knee surgery because he dislocated his knee. Staff at Wignall Animal Hospital has been very helpful, and communicative during this process. We took our dog to a different vet before and we are going to continue visits with Wignall because they are more knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you so much Wignall staff for helping our dog through his surgery process and more days to come!

After 17 years..my yorkie baby crossed the rainbow bridge. I brought her in to be cremated and the compassion showed by the staff was amazing. You made an incredibly difficult time a bit easier..thank you

Their billing system sucks but they are great with animals.. had my dog neutered back in 1996. Since then my dog had to be euthanized because of of old age. I just got a miniature pinscher. My 2pet ever. I called to do shots and secratary is telling me i owe for a cat named trixie that i never had ???? At first she stated giving me details but as soon as i said thats not my pet she wouldnt give me anymore info and basically said its my bill now. Cause ots under my name! They stuck me with someone else bill. But what gets me is. You have to pay in full upon pick up of your pet. How is there a bill if they dont have a billing system?

I have been using Wignall for a number of years for my cat. They are very professional and kind. I love how much they all love the animals that come in. I also like how they are not judgmental, but present treatments options and estimates with no pressure.

We love our family at Wignall! It’s been one of the best experiences of being a puppy parent to meet and socialize with a community that understands the care and attention Max needs! And the staff is always so wonderful with my daughter! Keep up the amazing work and happy holidays!

I was and still am very happy with the care. I had gone to Canobie lake vet and they were so bad. I was very stressed as my little boy Gizmo was. I didn't know that WIGNAll was a vet I had called my grand daughter (Kayla) she works there she informed me that they could take care of my Giz. They did with so much love and care. I will go back for sure

The doctors and staff at Wignall have always been professional and kind to our two cats and us. They take the time to understand the personalities of each cat and each pet parent. We have been going to them for three years now and are completely pleased with the care and instruction we receive from them.

I've been taking my pets to Wignall Animal Hospital since 1987 and although I believe they are slightly more expensive than other places, I have always found them to be compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. The facilities are clean and organized. You get what you pay for and I will continue to take my pets to Wignall as long as I live in the area.

Kate Dougherty

I love this animal hospital. The front office staff and the veterinarians are all so friendly here. I have three cats who come for regular checkups and the occasional sick visit. The veterinarians here are always so sympathetic and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Wignall!

Did emergency surgery on my one year old dog and come to find out she didn't have what they diagnosed. Ended up having second surgery at another facility to fix what they messed up. The vets are rude and unprofessional. Horrible place! Never bring your animals there!!!

Very good veterinary services. Dr. DeMarco is an amazing vet, but you won't go wrong no matter who you see. They really care about your pet.

They are highway robbery and we'll never go back. They push unnecessary tests so you think your animal needs them. Also, when you ask how much money your next visit will be, it's really half of what you actually pay. Never again!

Love the grooming - they take care of my pup like he's one of their own!

These doctors are really all about the money. My dog has arthritis and I brought her here and they gave her medication that caused her to vomit and have diarrhea around 2-3 times a day. They never told me that the vomiting could be a side effect so when I scheduled another appointment they were extremely rude and treated me like a toddler. They were like if your dog is vomiting you should immediately stop the medication. How would I know it was from the medication if you guys never told me the side effects. Thanks to you my dog is unable to walk or eat and I had to pay over $700 for two visits don’t come here unless you have money you’d like to flush down the toilet.

Matthew Drew

Treat/check my dogs well. Gives the lab extra treats during visits.

I took my 4 year old cat roger there for a medical emergency and they turned me down cause i didnt have enough money he had a blockage so he couldnt pee his bladder was the size of a softball i tried a credit loan got denied i had my brother try for a credit app he has a credit score of 730 he got denied they told me they would fix him if i gave him up for adoption so i had a life or death decision to make so i tryed a second opinion and all vets said the dame thing so i took him back to wignal and they told us to bring him to mspca and there was noone there to help him except one woman who said (well i. Cant let you take him home to die so she put him down that they dont do surgerys there so wignal you killed my roger by not giving him the help and care he needed thats right this hospital only cared about the money and who you know I HATE YOU ALL AND I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU UNCONPASSIONATE PEOPLE rip roger i will miss you forever my baby

I found out why I pay to have my dog put to sleep to be groomed and he is never done well. They give their groomers too many pets to do in a day. This is why groomers do not last long at Wignalls. They are money hungry and do not care about your pets. I pay about $200 for him to be put to sleep and then woken up, not including the groom. My dog is a rescue dog from the humane society and he was abused so he does not like grooming. He is maltese and jack russel terrer. He has hair instead of fur so it grows. One time my dog still smelled terrible. They did not even wash his face. He never got a bath. I brought him to another groomer who worked at wignalls, she bathed him. I am done with wignalls and all the money it costs to give him every shot because he is being groomed. It costs me with shots and grooming over $400 and then he is not groomed properly. I do not blame the groomers anymore. Shame on you Wignalls!!

Horrible experience, this place takes you companion without a word and when you get your friend back he/she is terrified out of their mind. Will never take my pet back to this place his face was so scared and i never do know what they did to him because they just take your pet to the back room and dont allow you to go with them. I also feel as if the employees are really fake and are rehearsed what to say pretty sad.

My dog was a patient at Wignall since he was a puppy. Never really needed any serious care until he developed a limp in his right side hind leg. My wife bought him in for an exam and they scheduled an x-ray. After paying for an x-ray with anesthesia he was diagnosed with left side hip dysplasia. I was confused because he was limping on his right leg. After a while the limp got worse so I bought him back complaining about his right leg and the doctor said "Yes, I can see the muscle degradation". After another exam I he was prescribed over $500 in pain and hip medications. The pain continued to get worse to the point where he could not even use the leg. I decided to bring him to another vet and just by walking him down the hall they said they didn't think it was his hip at all but his knee. An x-ray confirmed he had two torn ligaments in his right knee. I feel I, and even worse my dog was mistreated by Wignall. I was left feeling all they care about is money. I have not and will never return there again. I urge you not to go there if you care about your pet.

We had the misfortune of having our six-month-old Weimaraner swallow a 2" rock while having Thanksgiving at our son's house. The intestinal obstruction could have killed him. Of course, we didn't know what was wrong at the the time and our vet told us to seek treatment immediately. It's always scary to try to find someone in a strange place but we are so happy we went to Wignall. They had us come in immediately and worked us in as soon as possible. He was in for surgery a couple hours later. The staff was exceptional in their care and concern for our pup and Dr. Thomas did a great job on the surgery. We have some recovery to do back home but we are very thankful Wignall was there for us.

I was just there today and while they arent my routine vet, I always go to Wignall for urgent medical care of my furbabies. I was treated with respect and compassion. Staff actually cared about the health of my sick kitty. They accommodated my schedule and got him feeling so much better in no time! Amazing place, even more amazingly memorable staff!

I brought my dog into wignall in 2014 because he was having eye problems. Over the course of two years I brought my dog in multiple times and the vets prescribed my dog antibiotics and other types of medicines without doing any kind of exams whatsoever. Finally after 2 years of bringing my dog to wignall same exact eye problem over and over again I notice that he had somewhat of a film over his eye and that his eye looked enlarged. brought him back into wignall. The vet finally decides after over two years of seeing him that she's going to perform an eye pressure test. my dog has now been diagnosed with glaucoma. I believe that the glaucoma could have been caught sooner if the vet would have performed some kind of testing on my dog rather than just looking at him and misdiagnosing him. In total I've been bringing my dog to wingall for four and a half years and i feel like all i have to show for it is thousands of dollars spent and a dog that has been suffering needlessly for too long.

The office visit here and the tests cost more then they do in Andover... it’s not just about the money but I felt because they were 20 more on everything it adds up to an extra $100 a visit very quickly. Also my dogs a rescue who is very scared but sweet. When I went to their sister Vet the techs were much better with him. They were so weary of him here that they muzzled him and he sensed their fears and flipped out. At Clark’s their sister Vet they were able to get a cone on him no problem without a muzzle...these girls couldn’t even do it. The Dr left the room and seemed stressed long before that even happened because it seemed she felt we were taking up too much time. The techs were very sweet but they honestly didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing and had to keep going to ask the Dr my questions when she had left. I have yet to find a Vet I feel has good techs and a good Dr...I am going to try the one on River Rd in Andover I hear they’re more affordable and very experienced. My dog has never acted up that way before he was so upset. The last vet we went to even squeezed his wound and they didn’t muzzle him. I just didn’t “feel the love” so to speak here and I really wouldn’t suggest people that have a trauma rescue like mine to go here.

We love Wignall. All of our pets, dogs and cats, have received the best care there whether it be for vet services, grooming, day care, or boarding.

Alistaire Webbe

Completely incompetent, unknowledgeable, and inexperienced exotic vet. She totally brushed aside my rat's breathing issues, and he died because of them just a month after his check up. I am absolutely livid and I beg anybody who is thinking of taking their small animals here to go elsewhere (I personally highly recommend Northside Animal Hospital in Manchester, they have 2 very friendly, bright, experienced exotic vets who err on the side of caution). Doctor, if you read this, never forget that you are solely responsible for Harold's death, and maybe soon my other boy Chives because he's extremely depressed without his best friend. I wouldn't trust these people with my baby's care more than I would Donald Trump. Worst exotic vet I've ever been to. Certainly will never be back.

Shannon Rodrigues

This is a small, clean, quiet (usually), friendly place. However, every time I go there (for annual checkups only) it costs $200-$600. This past time, my dog was prescribed antibiotics that didn't work. Get a second opinion before opening your wallet.

Sheila Lynch

I have been a part of Wignall Animal Hospital for nearly 23 yrs. And the best part about it is I have had the same veterinarian that entire time. She has seen my animals go from young and vibrant until the day I had to say good bye.

Word of caution when going in for a dental cleaning- get a written estimate! We just brought our dog in for a dental cleaning after being told it would cost $500.00 - $700.00 depending on the number of teeth needing to be extracted. The final bill cost $988.00 for 2 extractions! 2 years ago 4 extractions cost $754.00! The instructions on the med bottle were wrong, the name on her xrays were of some other dog/ owner. Overall very lousy and nonprofessional situation! Be aware!! We even had to help our dog in the car and she almost fell when walking due to all the meds- anesthesia given her and their rush to get her out since she was the last one in there.

Joshua Firicano

They did everything they could to help prolong my cats life who had kidney disease. Sadly the cat was just getting worse so we had him euthanized there. It was really hard, but we got his ashes and a beautiful claw imprint of his paw and that means the world to me.

Anthony Guange

They have gone way down hill. We used to love it here. Now they are all about the $$$. They seem to care way more about dogs than cats. Every time we would go it was more and more money. Needed to get x-rays for cat and was told we couldn't just make an appointment on a weekend or night for that. They said we needed to drop him off and leave him. Weird but fine. I asked if we would need to pay more or a boarding fee because of leaving him as it was their requirement. I was assured no over the phone but then when time for appointment came was told otherwise. This happened more than once. When explaining this we were told that that was not told to us. BS! So my wife and myself both confirmed it on two different calls and now we are being told we are lying! We had enough with them and have moved on to Lowell Road Vet Center and are very happy.

Ed Fundakowski

I reached out to try and set ups appointment and NO ONE !!! At all reached out to me nor responded to me at all. I call this unprofessional and it discussed me to know that you call your staff professional and caring. I will never nor recommend your office or any office related to Wignall. If I could give a lower rating than one star it would be minus two easy.

Staff was professional ; service was performed promptly, and consideration was given to my pet's issues about "being at the vet".

Been taking my Shih-Tzu, Mabel there for 7 years. Vet, Dr. DeMarco takes especially good care of here and calls to confirm results of any tests. The groomer took extra time to be sure she was groomed the way I wanted. I've noticed that when owners come in, the dogs are always greeted by name. Best place and great care.

It's hard to grade Wignall because there's good and bad things about it. The vets are usually good with the dogs and they're pretty straight forward, so I am happy with that but I do find that sometimes they push certain things at the pet parents to make money. The last few years it has been the medication. Big pharma is paying them (or maybe just the vets) big bucks to push products and brands that with a little research you find aren't even good. The customer service has also started to lack. Hard to find appt times and just not well treated when trying to ask questions or figure things out. They have always been pricey but it's definitely getting worse. As a consumer, having my dogs as patients, I would rather have honest care than someone with an agenda so I am currently on the fence with them. I wouldn't not recommend them, but I will say to beware if you do go there! For more specialized things and emergency please seek out Mass Vet in Woburn and for exotic pets definitely look for a vet that specializes on those.
