Here you will see all the opinions of people who used the services and products of VCA Lloyd Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) near to the state of Massachusetts.
To this day the firm gets a rating of 4.5 out of 5 and this rating has been calculated on 146 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is basically the best one, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
I knew I wanted to take my dog here because of recommendations from family members that have had good experiences at VCA Lloyd Animal Hospital in the past with their dogs. However, I had no idea how great they'd actually be! From the first phone call I knew this place was exceptional. I called to make our first appointment and person I spoke with was going to schedule a 1:50pm that day. I thought that was doable but when she started asking me about my dog I told her how he's our first dog and 10 months old and this is our first visit and we have a lot of questions. She instantly said, oh, ok the 1:50pm will not do I want to give you a longer appointment so you can get all of your questions answered and have an enjoyable first visit. And that's exactly what we had! Everyone from the front desk staff to our vet, Dr. Compton was super nice and knowledgeable. We got a lot of comments and treats and everyone treated me and my dog like we'd be going here for years. All of my questions were answered and then some! I'm so, so happy I chose VCA Lloyd Animal Hospital for me and my dog.
I've been going to Lloyd's for 12 years now with 4 different pets over the years. Their prices are reasonable, but more importantly, their techs and vets are knowledgeable, informative, helpful, and very personable. I have always felt my animals are getting the best care possible there.
Very caring and knowledgeable staff. They present all options when it comes to our dogs care. They have won us over and this will be the only place we bring our pets now.
One of the few remaining independent practices around. Modern equipment and facilities at reasonable prices. Staff that know what they are talking about and will not BS you or push on you stuff you don't need. This place has a great history and rapport with the community and also supports a charitable practice through their rescue fund.
I really like the staff and doctors
A Good place
They were able to see our dog on an emergency when our regular Vet wasn't able to accommodate us. Very professional, caring staff. Thank you for helping our girl Gracie!
Very nice place to care for ur animals.
They have a lot but they are very expensive
We have been bringing our dog and cat to Lloyd Animal Center ever since we got them - Dr Buffman and everyone there has provided excellent care and advice for our pets. Best Vet center I have ever been to. My comment to those folks who have complained about the prices. Well the cost of health care is going up all over. Also you get what you pay for. They are not as expensive as some other places out there.
We pick up our Adopted Cat, that has been at the MSPCA, in Brockton. The staff at VCA , was very knowledgeable about the cat we had adopted.
Great place and great employees
What a JOKE!! Be warned anyone that might consider using Lloyd for there animals. I can only conclude that there business practice is to adminstor services without telling you the pricing. Then they demand that you pay the inflated prices rates that they are trying to charge you. I think that it is only fair that you know how much your services are going to be before the perform. I WOULD NOT go there. Even if you are specific with what you would like done they are still going to do as they please and charge you what ever they see fit. STAY AWAY.
The best vets office I have EVER been to!!
Great place, they try their best to work things out with you. Your pet is well taken care of here.
Took my ailing senior guinea pig to be evaluated here some time ago. Sadly for the past two years he suffered from gastric stasis and had been placed on a strict diet to reduce the occurrence of the episodes. He had been treated at another reputable animal hospital who took excellent care of him albeit his emergent visits/admissions cost approximately $1500 with each occurrence. Unfortunately, I moved and had no choice but to come here. The vet tech was very nice and handled my little friend with so much love. My interaction with the vet (a tall woman) was disheartening to say the least as she appeared to question me and his diet. In essence, implying I wasn't feeding him properly or enough. I was out off by her demeanor and felt she had no empathy for our situation. I left there with my little friend and took care of him at home. It was a useless visit. She scheduled a follow up appointment for he and my other young very healthy guinea pig (very robust in weight); likely because she thought I was mistreating he as well. Low and behold to her surprise my senior piggy had regained a little weight over the weeks and of course she was so surprised that my other piggy was incredibly healthy. Oh how fast did her demeanor change!!! A few weeks later my older piggy passed away. And I am suspecting it was just his time, living to the ripe old age of 8. I never went back and decided to drive 1.5hrs to my vet back home for continued care of my other pets. An empathetic, kind and warm heart goes along way.
Dr. Buffman & his staff are always kind & compassionate towards the families as well as their furry patients. Dr. Buffman went above & beyond to care for our dog when he accidently injured himself & he was not responding well to his medication. We really appreciate the care our dog gets in sickness & in health from Lloyd's!
10/10, would give a cookie if they were a puppy.
Caring staff and quick visit. No push to spend more than necessary
I have been in the market for a new vet for quite some time. After moving to Stoughton I asked a couple of my clients for their recommendations - and they had nothing but good things to say about Lloyds. It was then I decided that I was going to make them my dog's primary. Tuesday 10/7/14 I had an emergency with my dog and up until this point I had not yet contacted Lloyds to switch her over. I called them around 7:45 AM and explained what was going on - they quickly scheduled me for 9:00 AM. When I arrived the clinic was very clean, updated and the staff was extremely warm and inviting. I had a simple form to fill out and handed them her vet records. I was in the exam room having my dog weighed exactly at 9:00 AM, no waiting which was great!! The vet decided that since my dog was still active, eating and drinking, that it was best for us to take a conservative approach. I had to applaud her for not pushing ultrasounds, x-rays, etc. when they were not urgent. We chose to send out a fecal sample and put her on antibiotics and probiotics for one week, then re-evaluate (unless of course her conditioned worsened). When it came time to check out, the bill was much less than I expected. They charged me a regular visit vs an emergency which was extremely helpful and surprising. In total the visit, fecal testing, and two medications cost me $140. I have peace of mind, a happy wallet, and my dog is already showing improvements! I am extremely happy with Lloyd's Animal Medical Center and have already recommended them to my other clients. It is so wonderful to walk into a clean and friendly veterinary office and not feel like they are trying to rob me.
Very relaxed atmosphere for our pets!
my dog has the best treatment and attention
Refuses to accept online prescriptions which are about 75% cheaper.
This place is amazing. They truly care and take time to evaluate your pet and don't push unecessary treatment. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love it here. So professional, I've been going here for 5 years and I've never had a problem
No comment, just find another place to go
They are always very helpful when you need them.
Lloyd's is an excellent Animal Hospital have been with them for over 50 years the doctors and the entire staff are fantastic have always received excellent care for all my pets I recommend Lloyd Animal Medical Center Inc
Great place, we have been bringing our animals there for 18 years and we trust all of the doctors with the care of our cats and dogs over the time. They just recently were bought out by VCA, the impact is to be determined
Very professional and helpful They take pride in what they do.
Great place... reasonable rates
Nice folks who take great care of your pets.
They sincerely love animals and take wonderful care of your pets. We have been going since 2003, when our daughter was 8 years old, now she works there!
Staff are wonderful here, doctors are kind, just minus 1 star for being pricey
Waiting room is comfortable and configured nicely with partitions so you can sit away from others (ie: if you have a pet that is fearful of other animals). Wait time is very reasonable. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I think their prices are on the higher side, but I feel my pets get excellent care here.
Best vets I'be been to....dog, cat...it doesn't matter. Excellent service!
All our pets go here for their medical needs, even though it is a long drive for us. Years ago they saved my wife's cat who a local vet gave up on, giving him many years of perfect health. They are simply the best at what they do...
Best around for veterinarians. Have never had a problem and they are willing to do whatever it takes to find out problem and offer options for treatment.
Kind, caring group
Most of the doctors are very good.
Easy place to bring your pets friendly and helpful with all our questions.
Always clean. Friendly and helpful staff. The Vets are caring and gentle with my dog. He actually likes going to the Vet and gets excited driving into the lot.
I have been taking my pets here for decades. The staff is friendly and caring. They understand that your pet is part of the family, and treat them accordingly.
Food service. But too expensive
They are the best. They answer all questions and are great with your animals. Love them.
I have been going to Lloyds since Dr Lloyd was there 40 years ago. I have had a number of pets since I started to go to Lloyds. I pray my cat doesn,t need a Vet when we go to Florida in the winter none are as good as Lloyds and Dr. KRIS. 3
Loved this place. They seemed to really care however 11 months ago my dog swallowed a sock and dr Clark was supposed to remove it. After the surgery she called and instead of doing what we asked, she said that she moved the sock down her insides and my dog would be able to poop it out. Over $2000 surgery, my dog never passed the sock, and she had to be put down a week later cuz we couldn’t afford more surgery. Almost a year later and I still think about it. It makes me so sad and I still cry like it just happened. My poor girl did not deserve that. X-rays showed the sock was basically in the same place before and after surgery. They tried to say she ate another sock but she was hardly eating anything that week. She was still so sick. Keep your pets away if you don’t want the doctor to rush your dog’s surgery :(
Best place ever for you pet.
Very helpful
The best animal hospital around with the best drs and help
Quality care for animals but not cheap.
There are staff at Lloyd that don’t show any concern when they make a dog or cat bleed after trimming their nails. I took my cat here and they offered to trim his nails. When they brought him back into the exam room, one of his nails was bleeding. I expressed my concern about this to Dr. Mallock and the vet tech, but they laughed it off as a common occurrence. There was no apology. Later, I checked with my wife, who had cut my cat’s nails for many years and never once caused them to bleed. So clearly the vet techs are careless and must be very poor at cutting nails if bleeding is a common occurrence. I later complained to the manager, Bruce, and again no apology. He was actually very defensive. I couldn’t believe that people who are supposed to make their living caring for animals had no regard for making my cat and other animals bleed from what should be a routine task. It’s a mean and callous way to view and approach handling an animal. Needless to say, I stopped taking my cat here after this. If you do decide to bring your dog or cat here, don’t let staff cut their nails. Better yet, don’t take your pet here at all. It’s no big deal to them if they make your pet bleed.
I have been going to Lloyd animal for years for my cats. I just recently took on two little cats. One needed some care, they took me in right away but their costs were all over the place. My cats were semi feral, so I understand they're different however, the bill went from 65 dollars all the way up to 300 with no warning. I had to return but advised I was not going to pay astronomical prices with no explanation. I went to make my appointment for spaying and was quoted nearly 265 each for pre exam/vaccinations and they wouldn't clearly state anything. 800 for spaying. Sorry but I hung up and will never every go back. Dr Kris and Dr Buffman have always been great, but not for those prices. I own animals I get the responsibility and costs. The girl on the phone was like 'oh you're going to have to go get a special trap too' She was a total moron to be honest. Other places I called, rattled off the prices per line item with no issue at all. Do your research, call around, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Buyer Beware
Clean facility. Attentive service. Knowledgable staff.
The staff was great and I felt extremely comfortable knowing my dog would be in good hands!
Have two pets good quality care
Everyone there is really friendly and they give good advice. Family pets have always gone there and continue to this day!
Always have great staff here, just costs a lot every time I go!!
They are a very caring family!
Dr. Kris is wonderful! She is extremely compassionate. Dr. Kris is hands down the best veterinarian around. You and your pet never feel rushed, she pays attention to detail, and she does whatever is best for your beloved pet. My chihuahua Rex has been extremely ill all his life, and Dr. Kris has always led me in the right direction. She's very thorough and follows through with every detail throughout treatment and care. Everyone at Lloyd's is very friendly. From check-in to check-out, and everyone in between...I could never thank them enough for all that they've done for me and my animals. It's comforting to know that I can rely on such an amazing facility. I've had pets all my life and I highly recommend Lloyd's. Sincerely, A pet Mom of two dogs and a cat :)
This animal hospital is terrible two of my dogs died there in their care one in 2013 and one in 2016 my teacup yorkie died when they collasped her trachea in surgery and sent her home not being able to walk eat or breathe during a dental i kept taking her back and the dr said she was fine but she was not i had to take her to another hospital where she died in a oxygen cubicle it put me in debt but what is worse is i will never forget how my dog looked at me in terror in the cubicle there was nothing i could do but it haunts me every day and it always will. If only i did not take her there she would be alive of course my boyfriend tells me this too she was only seven.the hospital had the nerve to send me a coupon for some amount of money on one of my dogs vet visits i wrote a letter to the Vet Board but of course doctors and vets and lawyers stick together so they did nothing anyway think twice before you take your beloved pets here thank you
I always bring my rats and my new cat to see Dr. Clark. She is the best vet around. The staff is always so supportive and kind. They really care about you and your pet and treat you really well. Hands down I would recommend Lloyds to anyone who has any type of animal. They are the best! For such state of the art facilities they try to help contain costs. I have gone to other vets before and they've definitely got the FRIENDLIEST staff ever. I was amazed on several occasions when I got call from Dr. Clark to see how one of my rats was doing. I don't think I've ever gotten a call from any other vet's office from the vet himself/herself! A++++
Been going for years , but now they are owned by someone else
This is a good medical center for MINIMAL MEDICAL NEEDS. We’ve been taking our French bulldog there for shots and check ups which they have been great at. The staff is very friendly as well which we liked. However, our dog was 9 years old and we took him there for a medical emergency because he was yelping in extreme pain, barely able to walk, lethargic and had lower back pain. After doing several tests we were told he had a 104 degree fever. We were told not to give him anything to lower his fever and they gave him antibiotics for pneumonia which we found out the next day by the vet that his blood work and chest X-ray was all clear. The vet said if he continues to have this pain to take him to a neurologist. They DID NOT even give us a recommendation for local neurologists to even contact in case. We spent $670.00 for tests that all turned out negative and subpar medical care. Less than 8 hours later, we took him out to urinate and our dog who NEVER needs a leash because he stays by our side since he was a puppy, ran off into the woods and did not come back after SCREAMING in pain for the third time that day. We explained over and over his pain level given that he was whimpering/yelping in pain, couldn’t walk or eat to the vet who simply did not care to give him anything to help those symptoms and as a result our dog passed away due to the lack of care that this medical center gave us. They did not even give us anything to reduce his fever either. We are very unhappy of the medical care we received and we had to watch our poor dog suffer and is now no longer with us. We took him to this medical center TRUSTING that they would give him the best possible care and they failed him. After telling the vet he was in severe pain, the vet did not give him anything to help his symptoms which is unethical and WRONG to let a patient leave under this much pain. This is not right and we will NEVER recommend this care to any other dog owner. Please do not go here for medical needs. They will let your dog go home in excruciating pain and take your money as fast as they can.
Brought our 13 y.o King charles spaniel in for treatment regarding his Congestive Heart Failure, fluid in belly and trouble sleeping. They did an echocardiogram and blood work, and we had NOTHING explained to us regarding the results, we had to ask Dr. Buffman multiple times what the different levels were on his bloodwork and what they meant to which he gave us curt responses. He brought us back and explained to us that our dog had a 10% chance of surviving the night and we should put him down, and proceeded to ask us "you don't want your dog to drown do you?" Of course no pet owner wants their dog to drown, and it was this kind of unsympathetic demeanor that left us feeling terrible about our experience at Lloyds. They sent us to NEAMC for overnight treatment where the Dr's were so much more positive and actually explained our dog's condition/test results to us. They helped him so much and after a few days he was back home in good condition! (Not to mention Dr. Buffman called our home again and told us to put our dog down, after he had already been in the care of NEAMC for two nights and NOT in the care of Dr. Buffman) We have been customer's at Lloyds for 20 years and will not be returning because of Dr. Buffman's terrible bedside manner in this situation. He has clearly been in practice for too long and has lost his sensitivity chip! I'm sure he is a fine dr for regular check ups for your dog, but in the case of emergency/older dogs in a bind I would no longer recommend Lloyds because of Dr. Buffman. He put us through so much emotional turmoil that was completely unnecessary. That being said the front desk staff/nurses were kind and helpful to us.
Called around they quoted me the procedure would cost $350 and tops around $500. Well they were the least expensive in the area so i set an appointment for the surgery. Now the morning of the surgery we take our dog in and they examine and then give me a paper which now says the price for the services is from $650-850. I am already there my dog is in pain i was not going to search around for another vet. The end bill $788.00.
We have always received top notch service at Lloyd AMC for our pets. Their compassion towards animals is outstanding.
Excellent care and bedside manners! The staff really cares!
I took my Tootsie there and she feels a lot better . they have good reviews plus adequate , and reasonable prices for your pet needs .
Great to deal with a caring staff
They did an amazing job with my dog. Dr. called the following day to check up on how she was doing, which made me feel that they cared. I would definitely recommend them. Staff members were friendly, cheerful and supportive.
Excellent customer service, very friendly. You feel like family.
Great service and friendly staff. Very, very pricey.
Dr. Kris is the best
The staff and vets r terrific. Not as expensive as other vets.
Everyone at Lloyd's truly love animals. I always feel like my pet is getting the very best care and treatment. Having gone to other vets before who give the cursory once-over and dismiss my concerns without explaining why, I will never take my pets anywhere else.
Excellent service very understanding and compassionate staff. My little guy got bit by a coyote now he is in perfect shape thanks to the folks at Lloyd animal
