I absolutely love it here! ALL the vets are so friendly and give me the best advice! I will never switch vets. Ive been going here since 2005. I took some foster here. The care club saves you money! Love, love it here!
Took our elderly dog in and they knew him when we went in greeted us by name. The vet tech came in saw us then talked to the vet then the vet came into see us. It was an awesome experience. I would recommend this vet office to my friends! They were the best.
Absolutely love VCA Lancaster. The best vet I have ever been to. They are kind, caring and compassionate. I have not had a bad experience there yet. Everybody on the staff from the front desk to the doctors is fantastic. They have excellent hours including nights and weekends as well. Highly recommend!
Everyone is always friendly and they care about the pets.
Great Vet
Very nice staff, bit pricey campared to other vets in the area but the care is top notch.
Always loving and professional
I take my cats here. No complaints. Appreciate the military discount.
Called at 9:00AM Sunday and was able to get an appointment for 11:00AM with Dr Morawski. He was great and came up with a practical care plan for my elderly dog that keeps him comfortable and kept my budget in mind. Been going here for 3 years and i'm always happy with the care my Dog receives! Update: This is a follow up to a review I gave back in November. At that time, I was focused on the fact that I was able to call 9:00 AM on a Sunday and got a 11:00 AM appointment, and the way Dr Morawski was able to tailor a treatment plan to fit my budget. It wasn’t till a few months later that I realized that I was amiss in not also mentioning that Dr Faeth has been caring for my dog Roger for a few years now in the same way. Roger is an elderly dog with a few issues over that past couple years. Dr Faeth has been great in coming up with a treatment plan to keep Roger comfortable in his golden years and working within my budget. And never making me feel guilty if I can’t afford all the treatment option available. And of course, all the Vet Techs have been very attentive to all Roger’s needs as he’s been a regular as of late, so much in fact he’s usually greeted by name as soon as he walks in the door. And on lasts nights visit the Vet Techs gave him extra special care above what was I was even charged for. I would recommend the entire staff for anyone who needs somewhere to take their pet.
Top quality care for your pet. The doctors are very thoughtful and take time to answer your questions.
Best place to take your pet. Clean, nice people, amazing assistance and affordable.
Called today about my dog with tooth infection and hard time breathing. They took me in as soon as I could drive there!!! All the staff were friendly and truly caring!! Made me feel like i was going there forever, it was my dog's first time!! Thank you so much for treating us with open arms! Connie S.
VCA Lancaster Animal Hospital was honestly my best vet experience EVER, and I've had my cat for 13 years. Everyone there was warm, friendly, patient, informative, and welcoming. I agree with the other reviewer's statement that they treated my cat and me even better than my primary care physician. They were very gentle with my cat, and when he got stressed out during the exam, they let him take a little break and walk around the exam room before they resumed. Dr. Faeth and her vet assistant had the estimated costs of the services ready before we even arrived, they explained the costs clearly, and both stayed in the room with me while I considered the costs. They patiently answered all of my questions, and never made me feel pressured into getting all of the services. Later, they called me with the results of my cat's tests and they very clearly explained the results of every one of the individual tests and reassured me about the results. This place is over an hour away from where I live, but I would take him back for any future care in a heartbeat. Thank you, VCA Lancaster!
Kind and gentle and the two words that come to mind. True love and dedication for all of their patients
My husband and I have been taking our dog to this same vet despite moving around a lot and sometimes being even longer than an hour car ride away, they have never failed to prove to us each and every time we are there, why exactly it is we will NEVER switch vets again. VCA always treats us, and more importantly our dog with respect, and kindness... Also they always give answers to however silly they my seem questions...and their thoroughness and warmth is nothing short of amazing. This is and always will be our vet. Thank you for everything VCA! You are all amazing!
Great vet place but high dollar
I have brought my dogs there for many many years. They are professional and it is clean and they take very good care of the animals. Sometimes the wait is too long that is my only complaint.
Very caring and compassionate vet practice
Dr. Layne Handy specializes in Rabbit care which is vital to house bunny owners. Dr. Handy and the staff at VCA Lancaster are kind to both my bunnies and me - not just about medical questions but also about our feelings - Dr. Handy takes the time to talk about grief after losing a pet. Her bedside manner with both bunnies and humans is outstanding. The staff at the desk, on the phone/text/email and in the exam room are excellent. The building and offices are modern and super clean too! I drive 30 minutes to this location and it's worth it. I highly recommend all Rabbit owners to see Dr Handy at VCA Lancaster for routine, surgical and emergency care. (dogs and cats like it here too!!)
Such a wonderful place! They took excellent care it my car and we're straightforward with costs and procedures. 10/10
I love them but the prices are higher than most, but they do love their/your animals
They were so kind to my sick kitty Taco. Also very communicative about costs and approval etc. The vet tech and the vet were wonderful....will only bring my cat here.
Excellent service and caring staff. Always a bit slow during the intake process.
Best Vets, excellent staff and conveniently located. If you care about your pet, you will want to bring your pet here for all it's vet needs.
Very informative about my dog...and answered my questions honestly.
I brought my guinea pig Miles to see Dr. Handy on 5/5/18 because he had stopped eating and I feared the worst. I live in Worcester and couldn't find anyone who could see me in an emergency aside from Tufts. I was able to get an appointment and she saved him! Her and the staff were wonderful to us. I left with a treatment plan and I'm happy to share he's doing better. I'm traveling extra just to visit this location because I felt like they really cared about the well-being of my beloved guinea pig.
I had to put my 11 year old dog down and of course it was a very sad/emotional day for me but they made the whole process very peaceful and I would definitely recommend them.
Well.. Where do I begin? First of all the service is really nice, the wait isn't long but... I took my new cat there for a physical since he was given to me by a friend, and it cost me 295$ 5$ shy off 300$ for a physical and everything else. With that Large payment you'd expect the vets to check your animal THOROUGHLY, no matter what kind of cat it is, as in a Main coon or short hair.. In my situation my new cat is a Maincoon.. I took him home that day since they released him and told me he was good to go all they said was they were concerned about his hair nats and unkept hair. Meaning no fleas he was great, they gave me flea and tick stuff to put on him and I did usually it takes 24h for those things to die.... Until Wednesday night came around and we found fleas and lots of flea dirt.. Everywhere the fleas were walking around like they own the place. Mind you I took him to the vet to get FULLY checked for a reason especially since I have 2 other cats... he's a maincoon, fur is thick but it didn't take my boyfriend and I long enough to find.. I do have 2 other cats and they were perfectly cleaned from fleas. Gave them a flea bath etc.. I called the vca and they couldn't help me or give me advice on what to do about my maincoon or my other cats.. Then I called my vet in another city and they helped me out with my new cat and my other 2. They told me to give my other 2 cats flea baths and give them advantage, and for my new cat to try to flea comb the fleas.. Had to take it upon my self which I have bad anxiety and ended up slightly freaking out because I've never dealt with fleas before... Ended up buying Natural Care for fleas and ticks for home/pets so a 2 in 1, no harsh chemicals and kills fleas fast! Overall I had to take my maincoon to an emergency room cause an incident happened, went to same vca waited an hour just for them to give us some advice, charge us for the visit, and to tell us that they can't do anything because they're closed I also explained to the vet my situation as well as the vet assistant with the whole flea thing and they gave him to me without warning... She told me that she couldnt do anything about the situation and that they didn't find any fleas.. The vet assistant told me they just briefly check the fur.. That's not right.. Overall the vet said she couldnt do anything about my emergency because they were closed or my situation. We were there for an hour.. They send us to an ICU for animals. There they told us he has a small case of gum disease.. Shouldn't that be something the vca should've caught? Same with the fleas? I think so.. That is their job no? Just pisses me off, if the fleas would've been caught from the start I wouldn't have to flea bomb my entire house and our cars for 3 months.. Luckily we found it early because he was only at our house for a day and a half. Just a hot mess.. If y'all have any advice with fleas and eggs let me know please..
They were so nice and friendly there and they did a great job and it was extremely affordable too, I'm definitely gonna recommend them to everyone
The staff is amazing. We brought our sick kitty in for a check-up. After entering the exam room kitty was given several minutes to explore and then handled gently and with professionalism. Kitty was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The staff treated us and kitty better than my primary care physician. They even cried when we did. Each time before treatment we were given an itemized estimate and a clear explanation of what each item was. There was never any pressure to pursue more expensive treatment even when it was offered. We had many questions and we're given time to think about each and every option. Unfortunately we had to put kitty down to keep her from suffering. They waived some of the tests fees on the final visit. kind caring friendly professional THE BEST humans on earth are the ones at the VCA Lancaster
Incredible doctors and techs cannot say enough good things about them.
We've been going to VCA Lancaster since 2011; it's a half-hour drive from home, but well worth the trip! The Veterinarians, Techs, and Staff, are all truly animal lovers. They take time to discuss your pet's health & wellness. We've also used their boarding services several times over the past 8 years. Btw, the VCA Care Club makes managing pet care costs for (2) dogs so easy!!
My experience with Lancaster VCA has been disappointing at best. Terrible communication and adhesion to structure. They waited almost a week to give us the results of some bloodwork and if I hadn’t called for an update four times I doubt they ever would have followed up, even then the vet reviewed the results of the testing OVER THE PHONE. So not only did they have the results and not call, they had them and didn’t even bother to look until someone pestered them numerous times for feedback. Then once we decided to fill the recommenced prescription we again encountered communication issues. They called the incorrect family member for verification even after being made to read back the phone number given to them for contact and then once they needed credit card information to order the script they called a third wrong number and ended up leaving a message on he house phone which no one monitors during the day. Which led to us assuming medication was ordered which we would be billed for at a later date(as instructed by the assistant). Had to call fifth time and a weekend later just to get a script ordered, a phone call which was frustrating as the tech didn’t seem to care at all about the miscommunication and kept interrupting and not listening. Go figure. If you care at all about the well being of your pet, go with somewhere prompt and punctual, not VCA Lancaster.
I signed up to receive a free wellness check up for my dwarf hamster and they were able to get me an appointment the following week on Tuesday! The women handling the appointments and files (secretaries) were so wonderful and made me and my little guy feel welcome. Even though they weren't making money off of giving my hamster a physical examination, they adored him and treated him like an regular patient. The doctor (Dr. James Morawski) was able to pin point the probable cause of my hamster's hair loss and gave him a free dose of Revolution to make sure there were no mites. I'll be coming back if I have any issues in the future. A great place to go if you have an exotic pet!
Always accommodating. All staff are professional and helpful! Vet and Chief of Medicine Dr. Layne Handy knows her stuff, I practice people medicine and I trust her medicine and approach to both prevention and acute care. She's very friendly, helpful, approachable, and gets down to your pups level. Been going here for at least 7 years.
Very helpful staff

The best animal hospital I have ever brought my family pet to.
Wonderful staff, always take the best care of my pup
My dog hates vets but they do a good job
The team at VCA Lancaster love the animals they care for as if they were their own animals that are sick. The doctor is amazing and takes the time to listen to your concerns and talk over options with you. I can't recommend VCA Lancaster enough. Love, love, love them!
Sadly my boy got gravely ill fast and it was best that he no longer suffered . I want to thank the staff for the kindness they showed me and Dr Morawski for the compassion he showed Tazzy and his broken hearted Mom .
