This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
I love Dr Groper. He called me today about my sick cats. He made me feel better. He’s an excellent veterinarian.
Great spot... but, If I opened a used car lot I could recruit some salesmen/women outta this joint frfr
The doctor keeps promoting the cat food to us (a commercial cat food). She trashed all the other brands which makes us very uncomfortable. We already transferred our kitten to another animal hospital.
Very friendly staff and excellent vets!!
They run out of my cats food to much he relies on it
Great people and service.
Our preferred vet, have done a great job helping diagnose and resolve our cat's medical issues, ranging from routine to emergency.
I have been here three times. I cant remember the names of the vets but the first two times were fine. I just took my dog there today, a last minute appointment for a cough she had and i told them over the phone she had an accident in my house that was a little runny so i was concerned. When i got there the front desk lady assumed i was there for diarrhea. Althought the doctor suggested i buy her a bland food from their office to help with this i politely declined and thought id see how the antibiotics for the cough do for her and go from there. The lady at the front desk rudely threatened to tell the doctor i didnt want the food i said ok knowing i didnt need to buy it. I feel as though its hard to trust someone with your pets health especially a business. The lady who cashed me out was very abrupt and rude and i felt judged for not giving her their food. She also informed me that she may not have enough change when i paid cash but she ended up having the change. I didnt like my last experience there and i probably wont go back based on that experience alone. I try to do the best for my dog and i research a lot and i do love to be informed and learn knowledge from vets but i do not like to be made uncomfortable for not listening to suggestions by them.
Excellent
Dr. Groper and his team are amazing; they turn vet visits into enjoyable experiences for the pets-- giving treats, kisses, belly rubs. You can tell these people love their jobs!
Went with my friend to his cats appointment. I don't know why he goes there, they treated him like trash. I was helping him dispute ridiculous charges the doctor had put on the bill, and the front desk woman (abby) would curse us out, freak out at every question, then cry all of a sudden (she's the devil). Completely unacceptable, avoid this place.
Dr. Feldman did my cat's dental surgery and she was so sweet and kind and did a great job on him! The other staff is great too! Thank you :)
Friendly
The best! Dr. Scott Groper & his team have taken excellent care of our cats over many years, both during clinic appointments and boarding. Prices aren't cheap but not out of line with any other good-quality facility (or so I am told by friends). In any case, given the quality of the services provided and the caringness and competence of the staff, we wouldn't take our beloved cats anywhere else.
I've been bringing my two babies (toy poodles) to Dr. Groper for 6 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. He's great with my girls and I've always felt that they were well cared for at the VCA Brookline
Friendly service and easy scheduling.
That gentleman victor is absolutely amazing!
Dr Groper is the best! They take awesome care of our animals here.
Love this place. Always excellent care
Great treatment but wonderful helpful staff & doctors
Great centralized enough place for most routine and specialist pet care. Efficient practice with enough staff available to help streamline your visit. Really appreciated Dr. Feldman's advice and care of my pets. She is knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful and overall wonderful with owners and their extended "pet family". Make a list, bring it in and discuss your pet's issue no matter how "innane" you may consider it in that moment. You are your pet's voice. It's nice having a practice that listens. Parking is at very limited adjacent building parking site or few metered spots in front of or across street on Brookline Avenue.
This may be only one incidence. Nonetheless it is a bad one. We ordered NextGuard online from 1-800-Petmeds. We requested for prescription from VCA Brookline Animal Hospital. The hospital told us that they would match the price we paid to 1-800-Petmeds. We thought that it is great because we can help the hospital as well as the local business. Please Note: we didn't ask for price match and we don't gain anything from the price March. The only gain is for VCA Brookline Animal Hospital. However, 2 days later, they called and told us they can only match to a certain price . So we asked for the prescription. They said they would discuss the price matching. The hospital called back and told us they couldn't march the price. Therefore we went there to pick up the prescription. But the front desk withheld the prescription and told me that they would discuss AGAIN if they could match. Eventually they said they couldn't. We were certainly upset with their practice of withholding the prescription. We expressed our frustration. Unfortunately the front desk asked us to leave or they would call police. I need to emphsize: We didn't ask for Price Match, they offered a price march. And then they say they couldn't, and then they say yes, and again no. As a result, I lost time and Money (because I cancelled my order).
Staff is extremely pet and people friendly :)
Dr. Groper has been seeing the family dogs for decades. He appears rough around the edges, but cares a lot about the families and their pets.
My doggies’ favorite place in the whole world. It’s also the place I trust. Dr. Nanning is very friendly and professional. Treats my doggies as her family.
Everything about VCA Brookline Animal Hospital is great. From the front desk to the technicians and vets, the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Pricing is reasonable and they are up front about it so there are no surprises.
i'd give them zero stars if I could. they claim to know how to handle animal international transportation - but truth is they don't. now my cat will have to be quarantined. so disappointed. Update: in the end, the vet tried everything she could to help, including offering to drive up to Albany to get the documents on time. Our flight was delayed so we got them on time. So they did try to fix the mistake. I hope it won't happen again.
Service was good. Price was too high. I think it's related to the high rent at Brookline area.
Really nice people every one. They made my puppy Akita feel loved and safe. I just wish they told me that I needed to show a coupon for my first initial visit to a VCA hospital. O assumed since everything was via email and they said it was confirming my appt the coupon would have been applied but it wasn't and when I called for them to put it in she said she would and never did. If my other pets didn't go there and my puppy didn't love them I would go to a different vet place hair because of that. But they are great people and helpful. Update: The office called me and assured they did credit me fore the initial visit. I am very thankful for them and would recommend anyone to go there for their furry baby. We will see the team in a few months. Thank you
I brought my dog in last week to discuss some treatment options for the arthritis he has been experiencing over the last few months. During the examination the doctor was pulling on his leg and injured his hip. She seemed very unaware that she just injured him. I was hoping a vet would recognize something like that. Before I brought him in, he had a little bit of a limp that was barely noticeable once he got going. We have always been very active and were enjoying our twice daily walks up until his visit to VCA. I even took him hiking the weekend before his appointment. Now he is continuously hobbling around. He can't even walk 10 minutes without wanting to stop or lie down. I don't know if it quite constitutes negligence, but I am definitely mad at myself for even taking him in. I literally paid VCA to make my dog's ailment severely worse.
I've brought my cat here a few times. Everyone has consistently been very nice and helpful, and you can tell they all really love the animals. Last month I was bringing my cat because she was going on a plane with me abroad. They helped me with the paperwork and figuring out what needed to be done and by what time. They made it significantly less stressful. I can't recommend them enough.
A great vet! Warm and kind staff.
My partner and I took our dog, Connor, here on recommendation from a friend. We had previously been going to Cambridge Veterinary Care, but when he tested positive for heart worm (we had just rescued him a few weeks prior), the vet there told me that not only did they not have the necessary medication for him, but that he probably wasn't going to even be able to get it. He took more than a full week to even get back to me with a treatment plan. Our experience at VCA Brookline has been completely different. They're friendlier, more flexible, better prepared, more knowledgable, and show more concern for their patients. Dr. Groper confirmed the heart worm diagnosis prescribed a month of Doxycycline to kill a bacteria that strengthens the worms and sterilize them, which we went home with. He said they had Immiticide in stock, and even if they didn't, he'd order some and it would be in by the time Connor's next appointment was due in a month. Preventing heart worm is easy, but treating it is hard. Dr. Groper and VCA made this a smooth process and as painless as possible. He personally followed up with me after working hours, and several times called me in the evenings from his cell to make sure Connor was handling the treatment well. I recommend this pet hospital to absolutely anyone and will continue to take my animals to them as long as I can.
Good vet and so far they have helped my dog
Vets are knowledgeable and straightforward, front desk staff are very nice and helpful.
Way too expensive. Had to change vets because the costs are extreme compared to other vets nearby.
I don't like this business. They only try to rip you off, you have to be very careful. However, I go there because I trust Dr. Lori Feldman, and I think she is a good vet.
He took care of my dog very well. I love how they treated him as if he was their own.
We love the VCA. We take our both our dog and cat for all of their vet related needs. We also take the dogs for day camp 1-2 times per week and boarding when we are away. They are very reasonably priced and the really care for the pets. They pay attention and if there are ever issues they inform the vet who takes a look and the let you know. It's really great service. The best part is they have an AMAZING and steady staff. Everytime we come in the recognize us and ask how everyone is doing. They call for the dog before we even ask. Just a great group of people.
Mimi has been there a couple of times. They all are so nice. And so friendly. She has gotten great care there. A great place to take your dog.
I think Dr Groper is great, but not as great as my dog thinks he is. Also the techs are consistently awesome and helpful. We also board our dog here when we go away and he loves it! They even sent us a picture at bedtime.
The vets and the whole crew are loving caring people. Dr. Groper is my vet there I love him because he'll tell u the truth. All my dogs loved him and never feared going to the vet.
Great vet!
The staff is friendly and the place is clean but WOW... they love to run up your bill as much as they can. I took my dog in for two shots... two shots and walked out with a bill over $170.00. The two shots cost $47.00 together. They charged me $56.00 for a "wellness exam" that my dog had 4 weeks earlier and the exam consisted of recording my dogs weight and checking her heart beat! $56.00!!! The doctor (will remain nameless) "offered" to drain some fluid from my dogs ear explaining it would lesson the discomfort. She said it would be quick... 2 minutes, it's just a simple needle. She made it sound as if it was no big deal and she was doing it for the benefit of my dog. She at no time made me aware of what the cost was or that she was going to charge me. Well that simple little needle cost me another $42.00!! Needless to say, I'm looking elsewhere for a new vet.
They take really good care of the animals and family members. Dr Scott Groper and Dr Feldman are the best and the rest of the staff are top notch. My dog is a very protective dog and isn't to friendly but he loves going there and plays with the staff.Very highly recommended.
The vets are all amazing here. So personable, proactive, and caring. The front desk staff is not. I continue to go here for the quality of care my dog receives but I've re-though it several times because of poor experiences with the receptionists and techs. Several of them need a lesson in basic customer service. I was once accused of trying to get heartworm medication for free when I had paid in advance and it was noted in my account. I've also observed a reception screaming at someone on the phone. Sometimes I leave there feeling grateful and something I leave never wanting to return. An unfortunate mixed bag.
One of the best pet hospitals and veterinary staff around!! They take the time to explain all the little nuances with you and have the friendliest and most welcoming staff that cares very much for all animals. This is the only place I take my pets!
Competent and caring vet
Staff treats your dog as if they were their own.
The best staff!!!
Had some great service during hard times. Polite, sensitive service.
Once we moved into the area we needed a new vet. Based on a recommendation we tried the VCA Brookline office. We were paired with Dr. Feldman. She has been wonderful! Our dog has had some possible liver issues and she has been extremely proactive in helping to make sure he has had the tests needed to see what what was going on and how to deal with it in the future. She always listens to our concerns and addresses them. Our dog my never be happy to be here but we are since we know he is in good hands. We have also used the boarding service a few times. Being located on the 2nd floor of the vets office we know that in the rare case if something were to happen there is someone around who can take care of him. We have seen some of the other vets in the office for emergency visits and have had the same great experiences with them as we have with Dr. Feldman. We have been recommending VCA Brookline since we’ve been here and will continue to do so.
An incredible team of veterinarians and staff. I felt that Dr. Nannig personally cared about my pet's health. I have seen a few animal hospitals, but I am now fully loyal to VCA Brookline.
Dr. Feldman and the VCA team are awesome! From the 1st time I went there with my puppy, Otis, I knew we were in good hands. If you're lucky enough to be greeted by Sully at the front desk, she will make sure your dog gets the best experience while you get some good laughs from her stories. Once in the examination room, Dr. Feldman and her team take their time explaining what they are doing and answer any and all questions you may have. I feel lucky to have such a great facility nearby!
Just moved to the area and was looking for a new vet. VCA delivered excellent service and Dr. Feldman was great with my pup! Could not have had a better first time experience in a new office. I would highly recommend this place (and Dr. Feldman) to anyone.
Our golden-doodle puppy Jemma was in a rough shape subsequent to the purchase from a breeder that turned in to a rescue from a puppy mill. She had severe infection in both ears, worms 5 inches long, severe conjunctivitis and UTI. The staff at VCI Brookline was so wonderful, accommodating, compassionate and totally awesome that the sadness of realizing how terrible our new baby must be feeling was softened and we were assured by the doctor and the nurses that everything is going to be ok. And they were right! After a few treatments Jemma became the healthiest and the happiest puppy in Brookline, she loves coming to her Vets and looks and feels amazing!!! We love her so much and she turned our life upside down a million times :-) Thank You Dr Nannig, Dr Groper, Sandy, Sarah and everyone else for everything you do! We had experience with other pet hospitals in the area and this one by far supersedes them all in Jemma and her family (customer's) satisfaction.
Excellent clinic!! Staff is awesome
Hands down the best group of people I could ask for. My dog is always happy to see them and I feel completely at ease leaving my fur baby in their hands.
Dr. Power is the best!
Top notch.
This place is overpriced, under educated and callous. I would avoid at all cost. You will get better care, at Angle Memorial Hospital (about 2 blocks away) at the same price. Price be one thing, but the people at Angle will actually care about you and your animal and that is what you need in a vet. 0 stars. Dislike. Avoid.
Dr. Groper is the best! Have no questions about bringing your pet here. But it sure ain't free
Dr. Groper and the staff at VCA Brookline are knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful. Best vet I've ever had!
Have seen multiple vets here for both dogs and cats, they have all been great! They are really good about giving you options and don't push expensive, unnecessary treatments.
Usual Vet.
My pug has been going there for years. Dr. Feldman is wonderful and very caring. My dog has some serious medical issues, and she is always so responsive. Thank you, Dr. Feldman
They are the best of the best of the world. Sally is so helpful and works with positive vibes. That’s they way they do it here! Also Doctor Feldman was the sweetest. They all helped me with an international health certificate for the same day and even Saturday!!! Wow. I’m beyond happy. I love them.
Best Boston vets. Open 24/7.
I boarded my small dog here for one week, he was perfectly healthy when he went in, but came out with diarrhea and confirmed parasite for which I was charged $100 extra to diagnose and treat, despite him catching it during his stay. Also, he reeked of urine and feces upon pickup. The staff were friendly, but hurried. If you are looking for inexpensive boarding in the area, this is the place, but proceed carefully.
I have been bringing my cats and dogs to the Brookline Animal hospital since 1979, when it was run out of a large garage/shed type bldg,. by the vet who started it. For the past several years I have been seeing Dr Scott Groper who is excellent. It is also so nice that there are evening hours.
This is a wonderful animal hospital!! We brought our cat in later in the evening and the vet cleared a spot for us. They are always friendly and accommodating to both the pet and the pet parents :) I can't recommend the Brookline Animal Hospital enough. If you have a pet, make this place your go to for healthcare.
Suck they are very mean they took my money got nothing the Dont even do anything for my dogs and the doctor very rude
Great place/doctors. Went there on emergency w dachshund, who suddenly lost hind leg control over night, and our usual doc was closed. Got appointment fairly easily and quickly. They looked at him and instead of guessing and trying and wasting time, referred us to angell animal hospital, where he had spinal surgery.
Some tough reviews on here...Saved my dog's life 2x.
Hands-down the best vet's office I have ever visited. The service is prompt whether it is in-person or over the phone, and you can tell that every single person who works there is a huge animal lover and genuinely cares about your pet. My cat Alex needed intense dental work done and the vet and techs I worked with walked me through every step and answered my many questions with ease. My cat's dental work was done by such a caring vet (Dr. Groper) and he really made me feel comfortable and confident in his work when explaining the actual procedure. I was able to sign up for Care Credit on the spot to make payment even easier. Overall, i am 100% happy with the care my cat received and my interactions with this entire team. My cat is home now resting comfortably. I definitely recommend taking your pet to VCA Brookline-world class service from people who really care!
Holy cow!! I had a great experience at VCA BAH today! I made a huge mistake and took my pup in a week early for her appointment. Unfortunately, the vet we met with our first time, Dr. Feldman wasn't available (which makes sense, because I totally messed up), but the front desk staff was able to find an available vet (Jillian I-Forget-Her-Last-Name, sorry!) who was able to see us within fifteen minutes! Everyone was so helpful and made sure that my pup got the proper care, made sure that all of my questions were answered, and were able to accommodate our needs! Thank you so, so much!!
Always a great place to bring my kids
Dr. Feldman and the VCA team are awesome! We have a big, sometimes mean dog who we love dearly, and I'm always so anxious about taking her to the vet. Not only are they able to handle Redda, they handle her (and me!) with compassion. After a dental surgery, Dr. Feldman personally called to check on her. I also love being able to access Redda's records online via their website, and when I call the front desk they can always fit us in for an appointment within a day or two (even for after work/weekends!). They are so professional and efficient, I would highly recommend you bring your canine friend here.
VCA Brookline always takes my dogs health seriously and sets up appointments asap. Love the hospital manager. Worked with 2 different Vets and very impressed with their demeanor and how they approach the dogs. Only reason this isn't a 5 star review is I get a bit of sticker shock with the bill - pretty expensive, but as I'm new to Boston, I'm not sure if this is normal here.
The VCA Brookline Animal Hospital was absolutely wonderful. My little fur friend, Winston, was having some eye trouble and I was able to get an appointment in less than 24 hours. Dr. Groper was friendly, knowledgable, and treated us like family. He was patient and gentle with Winston and talked me through everything he did in the exam. The prices were fair, but the quality of care was what topped it all. They even called a few days after the visit to check in on Winston! Coming from a family of veterinarians, the VCA exceeded my high expectations. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us! We will definitely be returning for any future needs!
Have boarded my dog here a half dozen times and the staff is attentive and loves dogs. The vet services are thorough for annual check ups. They price match online sites for pet meds.
Great Doctors, thanks Dr. Gillian
The vets, lab techs, and staff at VCA Brookline are all so great with my dog, and we have been really happy with our experience there! Would definitely recommend for everything from routine checkups to more complex procedures.
Dr Groper is the only vet I'll bring my pets to. The whole staff is amazing too!
