This used to be our go-to vet for fast and reliable service at a reasonable price -- I don't know what happened, but we now routinely have to wait over 45 minutes after the appointment, many mistakes happen, and they have more than doubled their prices (e.g. $260 for filling out 3 lines in a travel document).

This place takes such good care of my pets. They are super prompt with follow up calls as well when needed. More than once I've received a call on a Saturday with results of bloodwork that had been done on the Friday. Their office is spacious, clean, and staff is friendly and professional. There's a bunch of different vets and I never know which one I'll get, but have yet to get a bad one, and I know they wouldn't be able to do as much, as well as they do, without a healthy roster of DVMs. So, I don't mind finding out when I get there who I'll be seeing.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Veterinarians are usually always quick but thorough and will satay with you for as long as you like. I get the feeling they really love animals which is always a plus. This is not the cheapest veterinarian in the area I am sure, but they have better tried to upsell me with other add ons that other offices have pushed. In one line, I trust them, which is always most important when dealing with your furry family members!

Unfortunately for me my first experience was for a sad moment. It was to help my elder Pug to cross the Rainbow Bridge. The vet and all the staff members were amazing. I've been here a few times with two different cats. My first time here was to put down my cat Smoke who was old and sadly ready to move on. The team here was very polite and accommodating to me. A few weeks later I received a thoughtful hand written card of condolences from the staff and they even inked an image of his own paw onto the card. I found that to be very sweet. I also recently brought my other cat there who was suffering from a UTI and she received great care. Very nice animal hospital.

I called because a friend of mine saw a dog get hit by a car and it was transported here. The woman who answered was so sweet and responsive to my inquiry to see how the dog turned out. Thankfully, he was stable! The hold message had a ton of great information for pet parents. If I lived closer, I'd bring my dogs here!

My dog and I LOVE South Boston Animal Hospital! I've been taking my dog here for 2+ years and they've always treated him like part of their own family. They truly care for the animals they serve and will do everything in their power to ensure your pet is comfortable and well taken care of. They go above and beyond each time my dog visits for his yearly dental cleaning. Both times, they've sent him home with a cute bandana and a new toy! I appreciate that they take the time to explain diagnoses and I've never felt rushed in their exam rooms or checking in/out. The vets and technicians answer questions thoroughly and honestly. The day after each appointment, they follow up to ensure your pet is healing appropriately or to see if you have any additional concerns. I would recommend SBAH to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy vet.

They treat us like family. That's the headline. My Pugs and I have been clients of Dr. Natalie Waggener for a decade now. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Waggener (or Dr. Wags, as I like to call her) and her team understand that these aren't just pets. These are members of our family. The people at SBAH take their time. They answer questions. They help the humans understand what is going on with the furry members of our family. And most importantly, they understand that our pets really are part of the family. The staff at the SBAH take pride in getting to know each of their clients and the humans they own. Their expertise isn't just the mechanics of veterinary medicine, but rather the care of our furry family members. I look forward to the second decade of great healthcare for my pack.

I've been going here for years, since moving too far from my old vet. I always feel good anytime they need to take my dog to the back for drawing blood, because they bring a soothing nature that doesn't even stress out my skittish little rescue. I don't know if it's normal, but I rarely see the same Dr twice (granted 6-12 months between healthy visits) so I can't really build a rapport like I do with my own Dr, but luckily the constant stream of great people makes it hardly an issue. If only my pups knew how great they had it :)

I love it here. They always take great care of my dog. The only annoying part is it's sometimes hard to find street parking, but not terrible. They also have a semi-boutique pet store inside with a bunch of special food and cleaning supplies.

There's no other place I will bring my dog. She is well cared for here. They are incredibly kind people. My dog was injured late at night when she escaped from my walker. SBAH stayed open and waited for us to get there so they could bandage her feet. Honestly I'm so happy and thankful for them.

I liked the Southie Animal Hospital until they missed fleas on my dog and sold us anti-itch topicals and anti-biotics at a fairly high expense. A month or so later they found the fleas and were concerned about heart worms as well. It even seemed like the doctor in residence at that time WANTED the dog to have heartworms, implying that he should have them as if we were poor puppy parents. The dog thankfully does not have heartworms and is being treated for fleas. They gave us a false sense of security only to then turn around and give us grave concerns which turned out to be baseless. I'm glad the dog got tested for all he needs but at an unnecessary expense and scare due to their incompetence.

This place is amazing. The entire staff is very patient and friendly. In particular, Dr. Waggener has been amazing in making a timid rescue feel right at home... to the point that he actually wants to visit when we go by the entrance on a normal walk. She's also takes her time to explain everything and make sure all of your questions are answered. The new location looks great and was smartly designed with spacious and bright exam rooms that don't make the animals feel closed in, as well as having other design features that really reflect how much they are about their patients. Highly recommended.

They’re really bad at communicating and very nonchalant when your pet is sick. Always suspected that they never really read through dogs medical history before appointments as we often had to correct the vet about why we were in and sometimes even which vaccination to give out puppy. We requested medical records for our puppy when we decided to switch vets and discovered they were very inaccurate and inconsistent. Be your pets best advocate, stay on top of them when it comes to any treatment or diagnosis they give you.

So so so happy we were recommended to this office when we moved from Chelsea to Dorchester. Very convenient location - parking stinks but it's worth it because everyone is so nice and Dr. Waggoner is amazing! I feel we are in very good hands and that is important. Highly highly recommended!

I had to come here when I was living in Boston for a few months. It was super easy to make a same-day appointment, the clinic is spotless, and the vet we saw was very caring and knowledgeable. We're lucky that we just had some allergies to deal with, but I definitely feel comfortable recommending them overall for people in the area!

Expensive but worth it. The staff is amazing! Very friendly, accommodating, professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Every person I've encountered has been wonderful with animals; they truly have a calming effect on my dogs and I, and have treated us with compassion through a couple of emergencies and a surgery. I trust them completely with the care of my dogs, but budget a little extra for the high price tag of this exceptional care.

Im not a fan. The staff is sweet enough but it took the doctors 4 visits, 2 rounds of antibiotics, 2 rounds of allergy pills, a skin mouse and a medicated shampoo coating me over $1,000 over all to find out my dog had fleas.. Im not seeing myself going back

Waited for an hour on my first appointment. The front desk staff are disorganized and rude. People who had missed their appointments and came in after me were somehow seen first. A dog peed on the floor and nobody cleaned it up so a pool of urine sat in the corner the entire time I waited and after I left.
