Our elderly Irish Wolfhound has been patiently attended by Dr. Taylor Kirby-Madden and this vet's skill and expertise are evident during our appointments. We started bringing our very first dog to Dr. Romeiser 10 years ago by recommendation of my mother and brother who also brought their cats and dog there for 30+ years. Shawme Animal Hospital was instantly a good fit. They were always able to get us into the office for emergencies, are friendly, honest and helpful. Dr. Romeiser would always get back to us quickly with questions as well. We recently had to put our dog down who was the love of our lives and Dr. Romeiser, Matt, and the whole team were there for us during one of the hardest times of our lives. It's been MONTHS SINCE my partners cat died!! This Vet keeps emailing him saying that the pet is past due on health services and to schedule an appointment?!? How do you run a business and not note your files accurately! My Boyfriend reported this vet to the Better Business Bureau FOR POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!

He's exceptionally competent; thorough and research oriented; very caring and his services are priced fairly. He and his staff demonstrate terrific interpersonal skills; they're good listeners; they follow up to find out how your pet is doing and if there are any concerns related to your pet's recuperation, they respond immediately. After you, he's likely to be your pets best friend.

This time Dr. David Romeise helped us with the same treatment which was less than a fifth of the our original bill from 2 years ago. We have been bringing our dogs to Shawme Animal Hospital for 17 years. Fortunately, we have only had a few real emergencies in that time. Dr. Romeiser and his staff have been AMAZING each and every time! Our most recent emergency was on Friday, December 7th. We found that our 2 year old shorthair had a large rock lodged in his small intestine. It was near closing time, on a Friday night. Dr. Romeiser and 3 of his Vet. Techs( Tara, Cara, and Brianna) willingly stayed after hours on a Friday to operate on our very sick puppy. We are so grateful for each of them. That is a true testament of how much they really care for animals! The after care was just as amazing!

Over those 42 years "unusual" problems have been diagnosed and treated, surgeries have been performed, and thoughtful, professional care has been provided through the lives and deaths of many beloved family members. We have been using Shawme Animal Hospital for almost 15 years. In that time Dr. Romeiser and his staff have provided our family pets outstanding care. When we first moved to the cape, we tried other providers, but just didn't seem to obtain the balance we were looking for until we came to Shawme. Dr. Romeiser is an outstanding Doctor that provides both great expertise as well as great bedside manner for both his patients and their owners. In my most recent experience with their office, my dog wasn't eating and had very little energy. Within a short period of time, Dr. Romeiser diagnosed our dog with a rare disease that if had been left untreated, our dog would no longer be with us. Their office is a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Best place I ever took my pets too. The staff as a unit shares a deep compassion that you can feel and all of my pets could too.. What cat enjoys going to the vet and purrs when theres a thermometer up thier butt?? MINE did when they were they! Dr Dave is the the most compassionate Dr i have ever met and treated my cats as if they were his own. He put my first cat down so peacefully and comfortable and I went through many Vets until we found Dr Dave to do it, and am so Thankful to have found him for my first baby. He then took care of my next cat and was phenominal. Also very good with pricing even though that didnt matter much to me and can call him 24/7... Couldnt ask for a better place!!!

Dr. Romeiser made possible a painless and comforting passing for, our dog, Tammy, and helped us deal with the sorrow that accompanies the loss of a cherished pet. We were blessed to be able to call on Dr. Romeiser for advice in so many anxious moments toward the end of Tammy’s life. His expertise, patience and compassion know no limits. Arriving for an appointment, we had met people who had travelled through several towns to have their pet seen by Dr. Romeiser at Shawme Animal Hospital. The veterinary care is very through and the time spent with the pet owners to answer questions or explain the need for a test is always reassuring and never rushed. Dr. Henneman, who treated our dog, Tammy, when Dr. Romeiser was not available, was very loving and compassionate, making sure to evaluate not only Tammy’s progress with certain treatments, but also checking with us to be sure Tammy was adequately medicated to relieve her pain. It was very comforting for us to know Tammy was getting careful attention to, and expert understanding of her illness and her need for adequate pain relief. Whether Dr. Henneman or Dr. Romeiser saw Tammy the quality of care she received was always excellent. To the staff at Shawme Animal Hospital: As a family with three Registered Nurses, we would wish for the same caring, expertise, and attention to human patients as you each showed to Tammy. We love you for your cheerful devotion.

Shelly in Centerville I have been going to Dr. Romeiser for 32 years; long before he built Shawme Animal Hospital in Sandwich, MA. The new facility is so clean and beautifully appointed; to give dogs and cats their own spaces. This significantly reduces the stress on the animals and their owners. Dr. Romeiser and his amazing staff (including long-time Vet Assistant, Matt!) at Shawme are supportive during the tough times; nurturing to all of our "best friends," courteous, friendly and kind. Going to a vet visit there is like "going home" ~ a safe and wonderful place, where Dave, the other veterinarians, and his technicians join pet owners in the true love of animals! Dr. Romeiser is honest, forthright and brilliant! Years ago, he came into the office on Memorial Day, to perform life-saving surgery on one of my cats! He was supposed to be IN the Sandwich holiday parade with his kids!! He is an amazing diagnostician; pragmatic, but not pushy, when a difficult decision has to be made. He calls you back when he says he will; to check an animal's recovery, and after you have lost pet. My vet, Dr. David Romeiser, is the best on the planet, a true professional, and a wonderful friend. I recently told him that he could NEVER retire. He could never be replaced!

I cannot rate Shawme Animal Hospital highly enough! We brought in our cat after suffering a massive stroke. We knew things were very critical and met with Dr. Romeiser. He was so compassionate and understanding of our situation and was willing to go above and beyond to try to save our cat. Under his and his staffs care, our cat has shown much improvement. He’s even been having me bring my cat in twice a day, even though they have appointments booked weeks in advance, to make sure he’s hydrated and he sees improvement, at no charge! The staff have been wonderful and accommodating and have always been nothing but friendly and understanding. It’s also very clean inside. It’s so nice to have a vet and staff that make the animals care their top priority. They are everything you’d want from a veterinarians office
