Super compassionate people. They care about your relationship with your pet and they follow up as promised. I had a dog pass at home and they sent a card a week later. Their prices are very reasonable and they respond to online prescription requests to make it more affordable on the owner

After 4 years of going here, I’ll never go back after today’s visit with Dr. Tami. I’ve been bringing my dog to this vet for everything since he was a puppy because my best friend recommended Dr. Poor. For the first couple of years I had OK experiences with Dr. Poor but it seems as though once my dog grew up, she became weary of him which was very disappointing. He never had a bad day at the vet, never growled or snapped at anyone there, was usually pretty happy to be there up until a couple years ago, the vibe changed and he started to get really nervous when we would go. The last few appointments have really put me off of this place. First, they’d started each appointment asking me if my dog needed a muzzle. I had been taking him there since he was 3 months old, and he never had a muzzle (they never even mentioned the word) or issues so this was confusing and a complete turn off. Today we had an annual exam and I heard Dr. Tami outside the door day “UM-I need help.” As if she looked at the sheet, saw what dog was the patient, and thought “oh, it’s THIS dog....call for backup.” Then of course she starts the appointment with the muzzle question and I’m thinking to myself, obviously you think it’s necessary and are going to muzzle him anyway so let’s get it over with. I should have just left like I wanted to. Then she weighs my dog, feels around, gives him his rabies shot and tries shoving me out the door! Saying “OK, well, I really tried to make this fast because ya know...” like not even 5 minutes of being there she said it 2-3 times “ok- tried to make it quick for you” as if I had requested her to hurry?!?! No, she just wanted it to be over. She tried to push me out before she even took my dogs blood! I had to ask her “what about the Lyme and heart worm test?” Then she looked on her sheet (one page mind you) and was like “OH! Yeah we’ll have to put the muzzle back on” and opened the door to call her backup back in. So she went outside quickly and I put the muzzle on him myself just to hurry the process and she came back in, astounded that I had the muzzle on and very obviously relieved that she didn’t have to do it. “OH you got it on!” Like yeah, dude, I got the muzzle on and my ferocious dog didn’t attack me.... yay... anyway - I’m so disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with how Dr.Tami treated me and my pet. She was also condescending and rude when I asked questions and blisters on my dogs paws. She rolled her eyes and needed more info, but wouldn’t even go near him to check. If you’re scared of certain breeds (my dogs a pit bull) then why accept patients of those breeds? It’s off-putting and and really terrible to treat a loyal customer of 4 years that way. I’ll never go back to a place like this - a place where my dog is not wanted.

Great people and excellent practice. I found a pregnant cat who before she could get checked out by the Vet gave birth and had a few complications. Norfolk County took me right in even though they had never seen this cat. They saved her life. They called every day for the next few days to make sure mama and babies were doing well. All around A+

Dr Poor and her staff are the most amazing, kind and knowledgeable people. I recently had to send my sweet 15 year old cat Angelo to cross over Rainbow Bridge it was the hardest decision I had to make but knew it was time. I have been takeing Angelo to Norfolk County vet since he was a kitten and thanks to their wonderful care I was able to enjoy him for 15 years. A special Thank you to Don and Dr. McCabe for takeing the extra time to sit and talk with me and giving me a shoulder to cry on. I will forever be grateful for your compassion and kindness.

I needed to find a vet to see my dog on a Sunday. NCV was very accommodating. They got her right in, diagnosed her illness, and sent us on our way with a few prescriptions. They even followed up with a phone call a few days later to check on her. I highly recommend them!

I am so happy I found her practice - she is one of the best vets I have ever met (expertise, instinct, compassion), and has an equally qualified staff (can't say enough about how much they care). I truly can’t say enough positive things about Norfolk County Vet. After reading some of the negative reviews I felt it was important to share our experiences over the last year. Our first visit was over a year ago when we first rescued Duke. We were so impressed by the care Dr. Tami provided. She got down on the floor with Duke, who is a large rescue dog that she was meeting for the first time. She did not fear him or feel he needed to be muzzled. Her kindness & compassionate care for our boy was heartwarming. She treated us respectfully & thoroughly answered all of our questions. Duke appreciated her hugs, kisses & the treats of course! Since that time we have had a couple of visits that were equally impressive. Dr. Poor fit us in for an appointment when Duke was not acting himself & wouldn’t walk. She was thorough with her exam & her explanation of her findings. The work-up she recommended was methodical & sensitive to Duke’s needs and our finances. Additionally, Dr. Poor took time out of her crazy schedule to call us & discuss test results, next steps & to ask how Duke was. She also had vet tech, Becky contact us to see how Duke was doing. Becky’s care for our pup was & is much appreciated! Today’s visit was no different. I called this morning & was easily accommodated with an appointment. Dr. McCann & the entire staff warmly welcomed Duke & I despite his ferocious barking at another dog in the waiting room! Thankfully they all know Duke is not ferocious, nor do they fear him or muzzle him! Thank you Dr. McCabe & Tiffani for taking such great care of Duke & his stinky, sore ear. I appreciate the time you took explaining everything & answering all of my questions! Again, many thanks to everyone that has taken such great care of our big boy! For anyone looking for a life long vet for your furry loved one, you should absolutely bring them here!

I have been a client of Norfolk County Veterinarian for decades, as an owner of many dogs and cats over the years. They are the BEST. Dr. Christina Poor and her wonderful team are so good with animals, so caring, so professional, and while doing so they get the job done. I am amazed at how well they knows animals. They are responsive, friendly, down to earth and just the most wonderful veterinarians. I would not DREAM of going to any other veterinarian; even if I did not live close by, I would travel to have them treat my beloved animals. I can't say enough about this business. If you are looking for a veterinarian that will attend to your pet's needs and care about both you and your pet at the same time, you couldn't go to a better place. Stay clear of this practice if you love your pet. I had a very negative experience with their administrative staff and head of the practice. I called asking for some general information and for estimates because I was trying to get medical attention for my dog. I already had a pretty good idea of what was going on. I just needed to know the upfront costs associated with with all the tests and treatment and wanted to know a worst case estimate. They wanted me to come in and pay for tests to tell me what I already knew. They couldn't tell me any of the other costs except for the initial consultation. Which was actually quite low $58. Nice try (reel me in, hey we got a big a big one here) well this conversation is over. I called two other places and got two estimates upfront. This is just bad business practice. To add further insult to injury they sent me a post card the next day stating bring this card in and we'll give you $20.00 off your fist exam. I was livid. I called them explained who I was and questioned why they did what they did and asked them to take me off their mailing list and asked them why they sent me this card when they did not offer to help me and. After I questioned them about it and explained how insulting this was they hung up on me. Immediately called back and the same person answers on speaker phone and pretends she didn't just speak to me two seconds ago. I repeated my complaint and requested another time that they take me off their list and confirm that they would..it was just dead silence..This was a Very Bad Initial Experience. They should not be in business if this is how they treat potential new clients I can't imagine how they treat their animals.
