I've been bringing my cat and dogs here for years, yet lately whenever I call for an estimate the receptionist refuses to give me an estimate. "We have to see your dog first." They've lost my business now 3 or 4 times because the receptionist refuses to give me an estimate yet the other 2 vets I use have no issue giving estimates over the phone. I am at the vet frequently with my 2 dogs and always like to have an idea of how much the visit is going to cost because I don't like going in blindly. I guess that is too much to ask, and I won't be calling or visiting Linwood again unfortunately.

My family has been going to Linwood for over 45 years. My parents brought our pets there when I was a kid when it was Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Wignall running the hospital. Since then I have brought countless pets there and the care they have received has been nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Cookingham has been my vet since she arrived in the early '80's and I cannot find more caring doctors and staff. The facility always appears very clean and the people there truly care about animals.

We did a lot of research about local vets prior to getting our puppy, Ada. Linwood stuck out to us as being very science oriented and cared a lot about being up on the latest research. This was an important factor in choosing a veterinarian. Linwood has consistently been there in crises and routine wellness, treating my dog as their own. I was already impressed by them, and they manage to keep me impressed. We originally started seeing Dr. McCarthy, but have since started seeing Dr. Myers who is very bright and kind. She takes the time to call and update me by phone personally and that just shows me how much they care about their patients.

The Staff at Linwood are always warm and friendly. The pricing is fair and reasonable. Anytime I needed to make a last minute appointment, they've been able to schedule a visit that day.

This practice has been leading this way for awhile, but they have truly made the transition from compassionate veterinary office to animal apothecary. Veterinarians, uninformed about the compounds they prescribe and putting animals at risk. Saddling up to Big Pharma and prescribing only certain medications. Additionally, resisting to provide written prescriptions forcing you to purchase their overly marked up meds from their office. If you manage to wrestle a written scrip from one of their doctors, then they flat out refuse to fax it to your online pharmacy for immediate filling, regardless of the need of the patient. Greed has fully replaced compassion. hostility and the most atrociously horrific customer service imaginable. I had been overly patient with this business, as I tend to do. After giving them the benefit of the doubt and switching vets within their practice several times, I have found the situation hopeless. Whenever this practice is challenged by someone knowledgeable, or a customer states that what would make their experience better is if they provide written scrips and fax them to the pharmacy (like a real doctors' practice) the reactions is sheer hostility. Face to face meetings are conducted behind closed doors so that the other customers that aren't as knowledgeable continue to be fleeced by these mountebanks. If you do now, or plan on attending this practice in the future, keep this in mind, and then verify for yourself. I wish you did not have to lose your money to verify it, but it is so astonishing that this practice continues successfully like this with such disdain and contempt for its patronage and such disregard and neglect for the health of the animal over the almighty dollar, that I invite anyone to challenge these facts. I have since interviewed three other practices, who were astonished when I told them these things. One is in Pelham, NH, on in Dracut and one in Lowell. Their charges are competitive to this one, and they are kind, care about the animals health first, support the patients' owners' rights to choose where to buy their pharmaceuticals (faxing scripts, etc...), offer alternatives, referrals to specialists with discounts, multi-pet discounts, first health check free, willing to fax statements to trainers - day cares and groomers requiring health verification, and more. I had my eyes shut for too long. A vet who will write scripts only for a very few, select products that cannot be purchased outside of a vets office due to new tracking and counterfeit protections that some pharmas are putting in place, only to force the consumer to purchase at a grossly inflated price benefitting the veterinarian and big pharma is an unethical practice and conterintuitive to humane service to the animal.

As a child we always used Linwood, they were the only game in town. As I got older I moved away, moved back etc. and Linwood kinda got lost in the shuffle. Apparently I became attracted to the newer, shinier version of a Veterinary practice. Fast forward several years and I realized after leaving the vets office I always felt like I was being up-$old on everything, guilt-ed into more expensive treatments where other approaches might be just as effective. Many of these "shiny" practices feel to me like they're trying to model healthcare on some franchised system. After becoming frustrated with this approach I remembered the Vet. of my youth...Linwood and decided to give them a shot, and only then realized how much I missed real family practices. Linwood reminds me of an old-school family practice where the Dr.'s know and care for their patients. By the way, I had the complete opposite experience that the previous poster mentions. In fact he's describing exactly the OTHER vets that led me back to Linwood.

Been going to this place for a few years now and they provide great service for our cat and dog. Only bad experience we had was in seeing Dr McCarthy for a sudden instance with our pup and the doctor had terrible bedside matter and communication. Since then we made a priority not to use McCarthys services. We worked with Dr Swartz who had since left and completely amazing and since Dr Swartz left worked with Dr V who was just as amazing, highly recommended!

Recently had to bring in my Jack Russell for a anal gland abscess. I originally had a appt with a certain Dr but was asked if I wanted their newly hired Dr to see my dog as the other dr was very busy and would be a wait. I said sure and Dr Vasilakis came in. She was very professional and awesome with my dog. Totally felt comfortable with her as did my dog. No one would have ever guessed it was only this Doctor's 2nd day. Linwood Animal Hospital always has the most compassionate and professional staff.

Do not bring your dog here. The veterinarian overmedicated my dog for his glaucoma. My dog ended up dying a week later. Gizmo was 4 years old. Foster hospital for small animals it's a bit of a drive but it's worth it. They're located in North Grafton they will not overcharge they are very accommodating and open 24 hours a day very compassionate loving people who work there and not looking to overcharge and they know what they're doing. The real Stinger with Linwood was they still charged my care credit card after my dog passed away! Then proceeded to call me 3 different to see how my dog was going! The first time someone called it should have been written down that he had passed away! As I told them my dog had passed away they didn't care! They wanted that $99.00 for a follow up. I didn't get a good feeling from the veterinarian. I did some reading/ research on Google about the medication Gizmo was given and how overly medicated my dog was. Gizmo was a 15 pounds Shin Tzu and they were giving my dog the equivalent of what you would give a 110 pound dog. He was over medicated and because of that started having seizures and then suffered a stroke. Here's another sting. The woman who did accounting charged my care credit $200 reason being you don't have to pay any interest if you're first charge is $200 so they basically got hundred dollars out of me for free even after I told them that my dog had passed away they did not care they wanted that $99 then proceeded to charge my card $200 dollars! I'm still paying on it. Technically they owe me money. Also thr woman I spoke to who charged my card asked one of the vets if they where willing to not charge me after hearing my dog passed away! To wrap this up...... take your time call Tufts take the ride and please bring your dog Tufts Foster hospital for small animals in Grafton Massachusetts.

This is by far the best place to take your babies for anything he or she needs I've been taking my babies there for years they're always willing to work with you with finances and very supportive I made a lot of great friends there the two-legged kind and the four-legged kind LOL. When my Jade needed therapy for her arthritis in her knee they took care of that also those are what the goggles are for to protect your eyes from the laser they took really good care of my her when she had cancer I had a lot of people there that supported me and helped me through that I love this place I would never take my animals any other place but Linwood. Unassuming farmhouse converted to a clinic on the edge of the city. They are affordable yet have some of the most well educated vets. Dr. A is an absolute super star who can think through confusing and complex medical scenarios. They are modern. Yes, they supported cbd for animals when glamorous expensive clinics were still against it. That sort of sums it up.

Do not and I mean do not bring your pet there, unless you want it to die that is! $1200 later and Your so-called vet has no clue what she is doing let alone diagnosing any animal really. How can your hospital still be in business? I'll never bring any of my pets there ever again.
