Great vet with a wonderful staff
The best boxer vet around. They bread world renowned show boxers. No one knows boxers as well as he does
Staff is really great, Dr Truesdale is a well informed very experienced doctor.
Dr Truesdale has been our “vet” for 9 years...however we frequent the petco vet clinic for our routine shots...I have 2 pit mixes that have both been seen by Dr. Truesdale for a couple different things over the last 9 years. I’m having twins in a week (literally like 6 days!) lo and behold my nine-year-old pit mastiff mix decided to have a huge skin allergy flareup… Good times right? Tis the season here in New England. I know I could put him on prednisone (because that’s usually the course of action) but he’s 9 and I would like to weigh out all the other options! I literally called Thursday morning (yesterday) explained my situation and they told me to come in today at 4:45. They legit squeezed me in and were compassionate to my urgency because of my upcoming delivery. My dog-Kaiza-is...well...unpredictable at times. He was abused as a puppy before I got him and we have worked hard and spent LOTS of money on his training (which paid off today because he was a rockstar). He doesn’t tend to like men-but today he proves that he is “a big boy now” and let Dr Truesdale examine and jab him 2 times with needles! Dr Truesdale took great care and heard my concerns. He was gentle with Kaiza and very nonchalant in approaching my big guy...who, I will admit, can look very intimidating with his big block head and muscular build. Dr Truesdale took a long time explaining to me our options other than prednisone...And for that I am super thankful. Although I’m usually a holistic kind of pet mom, I do know when to seek meds. He also appreciated that. I really cannot say enough good things. It was late, in the day, on a Friday afternoon, and he didn’t make me feel rushed. That doesn’t happen often at many establishments. So, to Dr Truesdale and his staff...Kaiza thanks you! So do we! We will see you soon for his second injection! And he will then be a big brother
It used to be a good clinic but it seems to get worst with each visit. Front desk staff is not exactly friendly. The place is always overbooked like a cheap flight. Although I would not say that Dr. Truesdale is a bad vet, due to their extreme overbooking he does not pay enough attention to your pet. He basically sees several pets at the same time in different rooms. During my last visit he left the room 3 times to see other pets. It's absolutely inadmissible, unprofessional , annoying and insane. He does not seem to check on the dog's medical charts as he can't remember what he has diagnosed in the past, or would even contradict his own previous findings. Calling to the office is another nightmare as you are constantly put on hold and have to listen to their endless annoying advertising. To complete the scenario, they try to squeeze every dollar out of your pocket -they bill for services which were not really provided and they overcharge for medications (up to 200-300% higher than other channels). If you need some advise / follow up after a visit for a serious issue, you may wait for a week -if you are lucky- to hear back from the vet. They want you to schedule another visit and pay for it. My final impression is that they really don't care (to say it politely) about your pet. Whilst I understand they are running a business, I think they forgot the caring and human part of working with pets and their sole goal is to make as much money as possible with every single pet and maximize the hourly income to the top (hence while Dr. Truesdale sees several pets simultaneously as he was doing runs in a emergency room).
Friendly
Read the reviews Beware!
Very busy place but always easy to get an appointment if there's an emergency. I wish the patrons would pay attention to the cat side and dog side of the waiting room.
Very well run and professional practise. I would give them 5 stars for their expertise and compassion--except for the rude and insensitive beavior of one tech, who has been working there for years. Everyone else, the vets and the techs, are great.
I am not happy with this place at all and will not be going back. I have been here twice now. Only because I adopted a cat and the shelter had me go here. The front desk staff are rude and unprofessional. The wait is INSANE - wait for your appt and WAIT to pay. Hypodermic needles are 12 cents each. An IV catheter is $1.60. For a tech.. not a vet to draw blood it is somehow $50. that is just to draw blood not for the blood test. Then I am to pay for the needle disposal? REALLY you are putting it in a sharps container! give me a break!! I pick up my cat from being spayed. I am handed my cat and the person makes no eye contact with me, and says nothing... the front desk person says "Your all set." I say would you like to give me instructions? Can she eat, drink? ok blah blah as in I don't care lady I have other customers waiting. So I say OK but I also owe you money.. I shouldn't have quite honestly. She says for what? well grab my chart sweetie here I am being honest. So I pay for the shot.. THEN she says with an obnoxious sigh.. "So do you want medication?" I said why are you asking me? I don't know do I? What is the medication? She says with another sigh "...its amoxicillin and pain meds" Well hello YES I would like them. So she sighs again picks up the phone to call in the back for someone to fill me script. Meanwhile my poor cat is waiting in her carrier. There are about 10 dogs all barking and whining. So I wait and wait. I'm upset now so I go up and ask so are my meds ready. She calls back and the girl says no I didn't know you needed it now... [I can hear her on the other end of the phone] - Then the receptionist picks up a customer on hold and completely ignores me. I'm like HELLO would you like to tell me that it will be a few more minutes? Honestly, they are incredibly rude. I spoke to 5 people while waiting. They said they find the front staff very rude, the waits are crazy and they are all looking for another vet. I will NOT be going back. I will have someone else take out her stitches.
Dr Truesdale has been taking care of my dog's for several years. He is kind, courteous, and honest. He does not try to "sell" you on unnecessary medicine or procedures. My dogs love him and his staff
Veterinarian office, with divided waiting area for dogs and cats.
Dr. Truesdale is great.
Exelent place verry good doctors .....
First time here. Very nice ladies at the front desk and great service and care was given to Webster
Wouldn't go anywhere else
Different diagnosis with each visit as well as treatments and doctor, we now take our pet to another veterenarian for superior care and great caring friendly staff.
I only regret not taking my boxer elsewhere sooner. The staff and Doctor Truesdale are nice but I'm not sure he cares about your pet. Our dog was constantly itching, it became a vicious cycle where he was always prescribing the same antibiotics and allergy shot. It was doing nothing for him. Not once was I asked to schedule a follow up appointment. He rarely checked my dog and his ears. I finally took him elsewhere, the itching and scratching was an ear infection and the new vet finally put him on apoquel. He's a new dog. I'm so glad I left.
Do not bring your animal here if diagnosed with diabetes. They have 0 clue how to properly do a glucose curve. instead of taking a drop of blood from my cats ear or paw they repeatedly tortured him by getting blood stairight out of vein on leg totally unnecessary. They do not use a glucose meter which could get a blood sugar reading with just a drop of blood. Must have head this cat is too mean a few times finally I asked how are you getting his blood if hes mean was told we throw a blanket over him and alot of us hold him down. All he needed was to be there for 24 hours like other hospital I'm told and would be on his way they check blood every 2 hours to monitor how much insulin is needed through out the day. Here they took blood and gave insulin then checked his sugar after 8 hours. Did this for 4 days and was sent home told tto give 1 shot of insulin that lasts only 8 hours 1 time a day..as with previous comment I agree Dr. Trusdale is over booked you never see him he didnt even come to discharge us and give instructions on final day.. now I have to take my cat to another vet because they know how to treat diabetes properly. This was the worst experience possible I was full of so much anexity the moment in stepped into this dump no one there has a clue what is going on.
He lis a warm caring vet who knows what hes talking about. Alot of knowledge, explains everything and doesn't rush you out. When he tells you about your animals condition you dont need to second guess him. Hes an exceptional man and vet and honestly loves what he does
Good vet.
Girls at desk are awsome..Dr Truesdale is great
Just a very good doctor
Very caring and considerate to the owners and the animals.
Excellent vet. He really cares and listens. The waits are very long though.
Excellent service and friendly staff.
Very professional veterinarian, always a pleasure to visit.
Excellent staff. Very patient, friendly.
Awesome vet!!! wouldn't even think of switching to another
In my opinion Dr. Truesdale is a great vet very knowledgeable. How ever his staff on the other hand. I bring my dog to have his ears done im asking questions trying to book an appointment the lady is only worried about leaving half the money up front. Now when he was there after the procedure we had spoke about leaving him there for the next couple days so he wouldn't pull the stitches out during the work day i get a phone call half way threw day 2 saying i have to pay for a kennel cough shot which is fine i want my dog to be safe but why wasnt this brought up when booking the appointment or during the 3 4 times i had spoken to them with in the last week. Now today i call for a replacement tag and the boy who answered the phone checked to make sure it could be done he confirms. I drive down there and now the lady at the desk is telling me they dont normally do it and its kinda a big process and made me feel i was putting them out of there way. So i left and might be looking for a new vet it always seems to be something and its a shame hes a great guy we like Dr. Truesdale alot but his staff is deff a weak link in his business
The office fit my dog in, on Christmas Eve day, and we were new patients. It was VERY busy, but that they took us on short notice, Christmas Eve day, rates the office 5 stars.
Super
The staff really cares! Reasonable prices compared to other vets.
Everyone is so nice, and explains everything. Don't see anything negative with the facility.
Great staff awesome with pets they care about everyone who goes there
So far things have been great with Truesdale.
Dr. Truesdale is so informed, patient amd willing to explain everything so well. Has taken care of our last 3 animals. Really appreciate his care and attention to our bulldogs.
It's bissy but best animal hospital in town I have been going to them for years and love it they are both professional and personal to me and the animals
Bad experience with this vet. My dog had puppies and one was sick. I brought her in the get checked out and the Dr said it was because she wasn't eating enough and she was cold. So 170$ later I went home and followed all the instructions I was told. The puppy died 2 hours later. They could have told me at the office that there wasn't a chance to save the puppy. But I'm sure that would have been the cheaper way of course. Will not be returning to this vet. And I suggest you don't bring a sick dog there as well. They should be more professional and not give false hope.
The wait is usually long to get seen and to check out. Staff is friendly but always busy.
He's an awesome Vet. Great bedside manner....
Excellent staff, very accommodating, very experienced and compassionate.
Was not satisfied with the experience. The doctors were very good but the rest was not good. My appointment was not found and rescheduled. After surgery called when told to check on picking up my cat and was told she wasnt there. Was told about are surgery Costs for supplies and had to ask about them later and was told they weren't really necessary. Brought my other kitten the previous day and had a call that he needed medicine. When I went in they couldn't find his chart, had the medicine ready but was for the other cat instead of the one it belonged to. First visit there was feces left on the waiting room floor when another customer wanted to wait outside because of the smell, the office staff mocked her in ear shot of everyone waiting. I was told that I would receive a follow up call to the poor service and didn't receive one. I have 3 animals and they will be going to a different vet unfortunately.
Here for the first time yesterday. Everyone very friendly, including other patients and pet parents in the waiting area. Doctor was very knowledgeable and spent a good amount of time explaining the process and procedure. Very confident lil Blu will recover beautifully. Will update over the next month with progress.
Amazing veterinary services for OFA hip and elbow certification.
always been a great place. staff is great .very caring . they have taken great care of my animals for many years .
Great care of my dogs for many years! From pups to senior years.
Very caring vet
If no star was an option I’d be there..My family has used this vet for years and now that I have pets (dogs) of my own we were using him as well. We brought our cane corso puppy for a routine ear crop and my poor pup was put through hell! Drop off was at 8am and pick up was supposed to be around 3 pm. I called at 12:00 pm like instructed to check on my pup and they hadn’t even began the procedure. So now my pup hasn’t eaten or drank since 9 pm the day before. The extremely rude women working at the desk assured me he was up next no need to “freak out”, I then called back at 2 pm and there was suddenly an emergency after our previous phone call and no work had been done to my pup. So I then decided to cancel my dogs eat crop with them and instructed them to give the 13 week old food and water immediately and I would be there around 3:00 pm to pick him up. I get there at about 3:30 due to traffic and when I walk in the lady instantly says to me he will be staying the night you can see him but won’t be leaving, I was outraged! After I told them do not touch my dog because I don’t want his procedure rushed and they did it anyways. I then was sworn at by the nasty dirtbag working the front desk and also talked down to by the vet assistant. Somehow it was my fault? Pretty much what ended up happening when I told them I have me canceling on video(which I still do and the alterations) they have it to me for free. Now 6 months later his ears are healed and standing but no where near what we discussed, he has actually been disqualified for shows due to the length of crop. Our breeder actually wanted us to press a civil lawsuit against the office because of how awful this beautiful pups ears came out (if my family didn’t talk me off the ledge because of the 20 plus year relationship we would have and who knows still might because i have to look at my poor pups chopped ears everyday) his office should never be allowed to do another procedure to an animal. And I hope no one ever gets treated the way I did for there mistake. This is solely for the next customer that plans on usuing Dr Truesdale and his horrible team for a procedure. We now use a wonderful vet in norton ma that loves our dog family and cares more about the animals then making a quick dollar.
By far a terrible experience. I went here a few days ago to see how to recrop my puppys ears. Long story short the person who cropped them before i got the pup did not do a good job. So i came here and and not only did i wait a extra hour for my appointment but when trusdale finally saw me i was rushed out within 10mins with a 60doller bill and a estimated 900$ to 1000$ for recropping...... Needless to say i found another vet in rhode Island that charged more the half the price trusdale charged me.
Great vet ..Has helped my fur baby so much ❤
Over the years Dr Truesdale has cared for our family's dachshunds Avra & Scooby. Prior to that, my uncle Imon's German Shepards. Now all have passed but we will remember how sincere & caring he was to our pets & to us. Thank you!
Great experience from get go! Brought my dobbie im to have her ears cropped. I wanted the longer show cut and Dr.Truesdale told me that he'd do it but it would take longer to heal. I was wouldn't settle for less and went for it! The outcome was more than I expected!! Great Job!!!
Very compassionate vet. Staff as well !!
This vet is terrible. They overbook and keep you waiting in rooms an hour past your appointment. One time I was interrupted 3 times for people to come in and get Dr Truesdales lunch order. He walked up behind my 15 year old Peekingese who is deaf and jabbed him with a needle. This scared my dog who took old across the room with a needle in his back. They are over priced and overbooked, so if you have too much money and too much time he is the vet for you.
This place wants to milk every dime out of you!! I pre-paid for immunizations and neutering when I got my pet and was told to come here to use it. I have had my pet for only 3 months and they have charged me $500 on top of what I pre-paid - and it hasn't even been neutered yet! I had an appt today for the neutering and when I took the day off work and brought my pet in they said 'oh, we forgot to give her the rabies shot at the last visit so let's do it today and reschedule the neutering for 2 weeks out ' (and take another day out of work). Of course they charged me another $91 for the shot today! It costs less to get immunizations for my children. Once I finish the 'pre-paid' neutering I will be done with this place.
