I rarely leave reviews, but Concord Animal Hospital is exemplary and I feel morally obligated to spread the good news. I have moved a few times since getting my dog, and until I found Concord Animal Hospital, each vet had their strengths and weaknesses, but none were outstanding. CAH hits every mark- all the people that work there are committed to your animal's well-being- the front desk staff, the techs, management, the dog groomer, and of course- the vets! The veterinary medicine is evidence-based and brilliant, and the vets practice collaboratively with the owners. Because it is family-owned, it is high touch and you never feel like your pet is just a means for the owners to make money. The owners care deeply about animals, including yours, and this pervades the office creating a sweet envelope of caring that your pet steps into. The cost is comparable to or less than nearby offices. The medical records are electronic- making it much easier for all staff to access that info and apply it, which eases continuum of care and safeguards your pet's health. They call you after any non-routine visits to see how your pet is doing- and not just so that they can force a survey down your throat- they actually want to know how your pet is doing. They are currently working on updating the facility, but don't let the cute antique exam tables confuse you- you will not find a better vet locally. I've tried a bunch of local vets, and their shiny facilities are no substitute for attentive, intelligent, and coordinated care. If you love your pet, this is the place for you!
I cant say enough good things about Concord Animal Hospital, and all their staff. We started bringing our Boston Terrier, Stanley, here by chance, when he got sick last October. I am so grateful we stumbled upon them, and for everything they did for us. They would always make time to see us within a day or two, and never made me feel like a crazy dog mom for coming in so much. Dr. Wilson was absolutely wonderful! He would always make sure all my questions were answered, and spend as much time with us as we needed- never rushed us out. I never felt pressured into expensive tests, as they were always honest about what was truly needed. They never made me feel guilty if I chose to hold off on something. All of the staff genuinely cared for the patients- we were always greeted with a friendly smile, and they'd often come out from behind the desk to pet Stanley hello. They would always call to follow up after appointments, and when Stanley passed away recently, they called to check in on us humans too. I will be forever grateful for Concord Animal Hospital & Dr. Wilson for the care & compassion they provided our old dog, and when we get another dog, we will surely be making the 30 minute drive to use them as our vet again!
Drs. Wilson and McCullough were wonderful with us in working through the end of life process for Aqua, our beloved Portuguese Water Dog. Thank you so much.
We trust Dr Hardy and Dr Wilson. They are taking meticulous care of my two 16 1/2 year old cats. Dr Hardy spent 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining my cat's heart condition. I never get that much attention from my PCP ! We are moving to Acton, and I will continue to bring the kitties to Concord Animal Hospital. Stragg and Littleone's "mom", Merita
We had a first visit with our older cat. The staff, from first phone call person through assistants, techs and our Doctor were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. And courteous, clear communicators. We were greeted by a welcome sign to our cat, and a clean, pleasant waiting area. We were very pleased with techniques used to keep our cat calm and complete the procedure. The doctor was very competent and straightforward about options. The costs were very reasonable. Our cat is a happy camper! We are also happy to have a new local veterenarian.
We have had consistently wonderful care at Concord Animal Hospital, both for well visits/vaccines and if a medical issue has come up. Every Vet, Vet Tech, and front desk staff person has been knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating, and kind. We really appreciate how Dr. Wilson will get down on the floor with our dogs, including giving our nervous dog her exam under a chair, where she felt most comfortable and secure! We can’t say enough about Concord Animal Hospital and we HIGHY recommend it.
Very friendly
We have been taking our dogs to the Concord Animal Hospital for 8 years and love it! All of the staff provide thorough, expert, and compassionate care to our dogs and they are considerate to and patient with us. They are very organized, keep great medical records and make sure our dogs are up to date on vaccines and treatments. We would never go anywhere else!
The team at Concord Animal hospital is terrific. They are kind and thoughtful with our dogs and cat. They listen to our concerns for our animal and offer suggestions and options for care. Dr Wilson and Dr. Hardie are both wonderful caregivers. I highly recommend this team!
"Warm and fuzzy" usually describes the pet, but in this case it's the whole Concord Animal Hospital - doctors and staff. Dr. Hardie, our vet for over 20 years, obviously loves cats. His kindness, expertise and ability to listen has enriched the lives of many of our kitties. He is particularly sensitive in end of life situations. And the staff is fantastic - the technicians are also kind and caring and the office staff pleasant, upbeat and efficient. They even answer the phone without those menu nightmares! Both a hospital and straight veterinary practice, it is outstanding.
The best place around. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and easy to work with.
Today we had to unfortunately put our dog down. I cannot say enough about how well this vet and his office handled such a hard situation for us. They were so patient and BEYOND kind and gentle. Every staff member there is wonderful and I highly recommend them for your pet care.
Great, professional loving veterinarians
Caring personable staff.
My best vet experience ever! My 13 year old dog Sammy just had his first, free wellness exam with Dr. Hardie. Dr. hardie was extremely thorough and took a lot of time for us, as did the technician who was assisting with drawing blood. I also received a very detailed follow up call and email from Dr. Hardie. When I realized that I had forgotten to get Sammy's nails clipped, I was allowed to come back and had it done for free! Highly recommend!
Dr Wilson was great. Grew up in Concord and returned after many years. This was the place to take your animals growing up. After my experience with Dr Wilson it remains the place I will take my animals. Thank you for taking such great care of my buddie Boo.
Dr. Wilson is absolutely amazing. Kind,thoughtful,professional-everything you would want in a Vet. Thank you, thank you!
Just had our first experience at Concord Animal Hospital. We brought our very sick hedgehog to Dr. McCullough who was outstanding. She quickly diagnosed the problems--a skin infection and bad mites--and gave us a lovely concoction of antibiotics, painkillers, and skin treatment. 24 hours later, our hedgie is eating and drinking again like normal. I highly recommend Dr. McCullough and the Concord Animal Hospital. It's rare that vets have that kind of expertise for small, exotic pets. As a side note, Dr. McCullough really went above and beyond: she consulted an exotic pet specialist about our Hedgehog AND she invited us to take part in the diagnosing process by looking at the mites under a microscope!
Always a good experience for our cat Shazzer. Stacey and Dr. Hardie, particularly, know how to handle our sometimes difficult cat. Dr. Hardie, even when he is behind schedule, never acts hurriedly.
Always great visits to Concord Animal Hospital with Benjamin. Everyone is warm, professional, and animal -focused, often sitting on the floor to administer shots as well as pats and hugs. Highly recommend the great vets and staff!
We've used Concord Animal Hospital for years and have always found them to be great partners in carrying for our pets. When the practice changed hands we were a little concerned but, if anything, our experience has actually improved. Great people, great care.
Terrific staff, knowledgeable and friendly vets, convenient location. Would recommend Concord Animal Hospital to everyone.
The staff and vets at Concord Animal are the best! They always take the time to discuss my pets' issues with me, and get me in for an appointment when I have a critical situation. They always respond to my e-mails, and help me get through crises when things come up with my cats.
My pets get the best care here at Concord Animal, and I do as well. What I mean by that is, my cats' vet keeps in constant communication with me regarding what is going on with them, and answers my numerous questions. The front desk is also friendly and helpful, and the technicians are fabulous too.
Old school vet with high attention to detail. Dr. McCullough was very nice.
TERRIBLE Place!!! I brought my sick cat here - and was seen by a young female veterinarian. She told me my cat was fine, probably a little bug. I KNEW he was not fine - but she acted like I was over-reacting, etc -- giving me "LOOKS". I ended up bringing him back about 3 times - and finally insisted on testing. She reluctantly did xrays and blood work - and told me itb all came out fine. This process took about 3 months - and cost about $1200+ dollars. I ended up taking my dear sweet friend to the Referral Vet in Woburn. WIthin 10 minutes - they knew he had a lung tumor. They had the xrays from COncord - but they were so badly taken that they could not see. My cat was SUFFERING. He was in TERRIBLE pain. I feel SO bad that my baby suffered for 3 months -- he used to look at me and cry. NEVER go to this vet!!!
I am so very happy to have found a great vet. Moving from another state was stressful enough, and prior to that my 15lb dog was attacked by an Akita (owners fault). They put all my fears to rest, answers the many, many questions I had and best of all, my dog seemed calm! I highly recommend this veterinarian!
Love Dr Wilson and Katherine! The whole staff is amazing!
Always very professional and knowledgeable. They truly love animals and it shows!
They have been taking great care of my dogs for years.
Every physician and each member of the support staff at Concord Animal Hospital does flawless work. They are compassionate, professional and diligent. Comet is slightly neurotic, a bit picky and somewhat stubborn. The CAH crew accommodate his whims and take care of all his needs. They are THE BEST Animal Clinic we have ever been to. We will miss them terribly when we move away. : (
bear is usually anxious when we make a trip to the vet, but with the doctors and staff at the concord animal hospital he is relaxed, well loved and greeted with a smile.
Concord Animal Hospital is excellent! The staff is always knowledgable, friendly and kind. I took my senior dog to the practice yesterday for a cardic scan in the fternoon. We got our results within a short period of time put my concerns to rest. Thanks for your usual great job! And Ellee sends her best for your great care. Still 5 stars for COncord Animal Hospital. When one of my dogs needed to be checked for an issue, the terrific staff gos us in that day. Thank you all.
Compassionate, professional care. Good people.
Concord Animal Hospital is wonderful - so caring and compassionate. All of the staff do their best to make Chloe comfortable, which helps keep her calm. Thank you, Dr. Wilson, and your team!
Concord Animal Hospital has entered a new chapter of a long life. There is new energy and ideas that will ensure a successful future. We have been very impressed by the willingness to keep us up to date on issues, following up on sick visits and working through administrative challenges as we move between the US and Europe with our dogs.
Best professional and most personal veterinary care
I bring my three large dogs to this practice. Compassionate Vets and Staff, Personal attention to your pets needs, Onetime appointments, Follow up calls to evaluate pets needs.
I have two older dogs, a Weimeriener and a Brussels Griffon, and we drive from Brookline to bring our dogs to the Concord Animal Hospital, it's that good. Dr. Wilson is so kind and professional, always listening and not judging, even when I have fifty random questions to pepper him with, like can dogs eat grapes? Quick answer, hard no. The care my dogs receive at Concord Animal Hospital is the best we could ever ask for. I cannot recommend this practice more. Put your dogs on their leashes and run, don't walk there.
Excellent grooming and very helpful staff
Our family has been using the Concord Animal Hospital for over 25 years, caring for 11 animals over that time. We have always received great service and exceptional care. The recent change in ownership has increased the hospital's value by modernizing some aspects of animal care and, particularly, streamlining administration. Over the last 10+ years we have primarily consulted Dr. Hardie, who is excellent. We highly recommend Concord Animal Hospital.
Clean, welcoming veterinary practice. Friendly, knowledgeable, caring, professional staff
Very welcoming and caring staff! They are very thorough and accommodating and encourage you to ask questions in order to get your pet the best care possible.
They always are on time, care greatly for our pets and do not push any unnecessary medications/ tests on us, which is greatly appreciated. We love them!
Concord Animal hospital has always been a part of our lives. I was concerned a few years ago when Drs. Fisher and Tucker decided to sell the practice. We didn’t know if it would change and or what it would be like. Well I can only say that Dr. Wilson and his wife (the new owners) have been incredibly kind and wonderful new additions. There are a number of the old staff too who have stuck around. I can’t say enough except that I can’t think of nicer more competent people to take care of our pets.
Everyone here is friendly and helpful... Had great care from multiple vets within the facility, but must give extra praise for and to Dr. Wilson. He has been thoughtful, thorough, and human through a very difficult time. While we are not out of the woods yet, and we may never be, Dr. Wilson is the reason that there is currently any sense of hope and why my dog is alive. He is kind and funny, caring and warm, and above all else, he is a tremendous veterinarian. We are extremely thankful and would highly recommend to anyone.
It seems as though the Concord Animal Hospital is under new management? This has turned a solid animal hospital into a great one! While I was last there, I overheard one of the new veterinarians discussing ways to improve the office management workflow which is great! There certainly seem to be some front desk processes that could use some improvement / streamlining. Regardless, this is a great animal hospital. When we visit, I feel like our dogs are getting very good care and the various doctors spend plenty of time with them and answer any questions we might have. We have no preference on which vet our dog sees as they all seem to do a great job. We've been going here for 4+ years and will continue doing so!
The whole staff is attentive, compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable. My dog is going to be 17 years old and they have always taken such a good care of her.
I am grateful for the compassionate care provided by Dr. Stephen Wilson and the staff at Concord Animal Hospital. Kind, patient, empathetic and knowledgeable are only a few words that begin to describe my experience with Dr. Wilson and CAH. If you are looking for a vet you can trust to provide the best for the animal members of your family, I highly recommend Concord Animal Hospital.
I've brought 5 animals to Concord Animal Hospital over a period of 20 years. First off, all the cats lived to 17 -- I feel due to the wonderful care at Concord Animal Hospital. Though the phone is sometime busy, I do get through OK. They have always been nice and caring. Now, I have been bringing my 13 year old Chihuahua there, and they have provided great care. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars, is because they referred me to more extensive expensive care, that I decided I didn't need.
We have gone to Concord Animal Hospital since we moved to Concord many years ago. Ownership changed a few years ago but remains friendly, professional, and compassionate. Dr. Hardie has cared for our cats and dogs, and we heartily recommend him. He is incredible in helping our animals and us in our pets' last moments and takes the time to write sympathy notes that bring tears to my eyes. His vet care is first-rate, and he always explains what he is doing, what he finds, and our options. I can't imagine going anywhere else.
Pugsy and I have been going to Concord Animal Hospital for a few years now, ever since moving to the area. Pugsy is a rescue dog and he was a bit skittish and nervous at first but the doctors at CAH are always patient and caring with my little man. And he absolutely adores our doctor, Dr. McCullough. Everyone at CAH are kind, caring, and generous; you definitely know that they care about your pet.
Dr. Wilson and his colleagues at Concord Animal Hospital provide excellent care to their animal patients and the humans who care for them.
Very pleased with Sophie and Catnip's first visit to CAH with New ownwr, Dr. Wilson. Office has been updated. Competent and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
Dr Wilson took great care of Ollie!
There are no female vets at this Animal Hospital.
My 10 year old (female, white) pomeranian has been having skin and fur "issues" the last few months, and I was grooming her last week and anticipating that her problems were behind her. I went into shock to find what looked like a new and worse issue, complete with what appeared to be inflammation under the fur on her back. I was delighted to be offered an appointment within an hour of my frantic call. Dr. McCullough was concerned and professional; she took samples of the irritated area, with slides and tape; Then she checked the samples, while I waited, to confirm her diagnosis. I left the office within two hours of my initial call, with a firm diagnosis of the problem AND a course of action ... and a lot of peace of mind! The one draw back ... they were unable to provide the shampoo recommended for the problem. I wouldn't even mention it, except that this seems to be fairly standard. I know they aren't a pet supply store, but they NEVER seem to have any product recommended for my dogs, and most often they require special order from Amazon (or similar).
The doctor I see (Dr Hardy) is wonderful with small dogs. He keeps on top of my dog's health problems more conscientiously than I do. When my doggie developed an eye infection on a Saturday, he and the staff stayed past closing to see us, so we wouldn't have to go to an emergency room for $$$$ or wait until Monday, when the infection might be much worse. How many vets do that? My only complaint is the physical plant--quite shabby and offputting. But I'm told a remodel is in the future.
We have been going to Dr. Wilson since our golden retriever was a puppy, and before he bought Concord Animal Hospital. Although we live in Marblehead, we still make the trek to see Dr. Wilson at his new practice. Great service, excellent staff!
