Wonderful vet and staff. Love Dr. Truesdale they are very compassionate and caring. We won’t take our fur babies anywhere else

I have seen all 3 vets here and none of them know what they’re talking about. My dog needs a major jaw surgery now because when I first took her in to get checked they misdiagnosed her 3 times! This was over a year ago and now her condition is much much worse. My new vet Vinny said this could have been fixed a year ago so much easier if they had known what they’re talking about, he said anyone fresh out of vet school should know what she has. Now she has to go to Ocean State for her surgery. Also I had another dog who just passed and 2 weeks before she passed the vets said everything was good and healthy and she really had a ton of tumors and had to be put down!! Never going back!!

The best! Everyone I know sends their pets here - including both of our dogs' breeders. They were SO compassionate and helpful when our 10 yr old cat developed kidney failure - I was given all the options directly with no push to do a specific treatment, and no judging when we elected to euthanize her (she wouldn't have lived a year, we were told). When we were there for the procedure, I was given all the time I needed to say goodbye, and I was permitted to hold her the whole time. We have all of our animals cared for there, and have had nothing but good experiences. Yes, you have to wait, usually past the scheduled appointment time, as with most doctors. Emergencies happen, and they obviously take precedence over a routine appointment. If Dr. Truesdale spent the amount of time the disgruntled user thinks she is entitled to, he would get even more behind in his schedule, and people will have to wait even longer. You were there for a routine exam, for vaccinations, for crying out loud! You expect a full-on physical exam? Schedule one and you'll get that. Schedule an appointment for vaccinations, that's what you get. Bottom line: They're awesome!!

Best vet around

it pains me to write this review having known dr. Truesdale as our vet.most of my life but I feel I need to. Its not so much the lack of respect of your time and money as its the lack of passion and compassion toward you and your pet. I wasted my time dragging my poor sick underweight cat for a follow up appointment to find out if her new meds were doing the job. Having did my part pilling my cat everyday for two weeks sliced and diced every time only to show up at her followup with no one there having a clue as to why we were there. Okay they were extremely busy having waited in a zoo of unhappy dogs for half an hour later than the appointment dogs wetting themselves and barking my poor cat was a mess. The veterinarian I had never seen before had no clue why we were there does anybody there know how to read! Could you not overbook yourselves into a circus. Could ya maybe call if your running late. Before entering the room to see your nervous patient read their chart call them by name. From the looks of the poor animals and my cat they sensed the hostility as I did.

I went to Dr. Truesdale for the first time recently with our 11-year-old German Shepherd who had a urination problem. When I made the appointment, the person on the phone suggested UTI. When I brought her in, and that was the diagnosis. A round of antibiotics and she's doing fine. There was no long wait and the staff was nice. Most importantly, Dr. Truesdale worked with me on the diagnosis. When I told him we don't vaccinate except for rabies, he didn't give me a lecture or look at me bug-eyed. No judgement. When I mentioned that her teeth were bad but I didn't want to put her under to have them cleaned (she's 11), he suggested an alternate treatment that so far is working. I found Dr. Truedale to be accommodating, he explained his opinions, and he provided good advice. I recommend him highly.

This is the worst place to go!!! If you love your pet, take them somewhere else!! Two close people to me both lost their pets due to this place on the same day. I had problems with my puppy when he had surgery. They never cleaned my pups surgery site and my pup could have lost his leg. This place is the worst place to go. Save your pet and go somewhere else!!!##

I rescued an English Foxhound four years ago. In March we started to notice she had welts on her and was losing hair. Took her to the vet and was told it was most likely an allergy to pollen which was causing hives, we were told to shave the hive so it was exposed to air and would dry out. She was put on an antibiotic and a steroid pill, however it never completely stopped. We did this multiple times over and over again. She also was struggling with an overweight problem. Needless to say one vet was more focused on her weight, yelling at me and my mother for over feeding her, and trying all different kinds of weight control foods while the other kept putting her on steroids and antibiotics for her welts. Finally after six months of trying new foods and she continues to gain weight and have the welts, they decide to run her for blood work for a thyroid problem which came back that her levels were low. Back on the case with the welts, after me and my mother doing extensive research we are pretty sure she may have ring worm, which looks exactly like what her welts look like. However, never once did it ever dawn on either one of these vets to test her for ring worm. I called the vet and talked to the women at the front desk who informed me that when they tested her thyroid the blood work also said she had a fungal issues however that was never addressed to me. To conclude this whole problem I've spent over 2,000 on medications and visits to basically find out that they don't tell you all the information about whats going on. Feeling like they kept beating around the bush with what was actually wrong, knowing the problem would never go away and I would still have to keep taking her there for checkups.

Love this vet. He takes very good care of my Newfoundland (Very large Breed). He's a breeder himself, and has many other breeders as his clientel, but still takes any and all comers. He balances treatment with the wishes of the client, and tries to do what's best for the animal. He see's both dogs and cats.

Got here early for our appointment. Still waiting 40 minutes after appointment time. I just asked how much longer and was told still 3 people ahead of me, "because it's Monday and Mondays are always hectic." Then why even have appointments?? Plus the waiting room is a zoo, there are tons of people here and the dog owners totally ignore the "cat waiting room" sign. Edit: I will say however that the veterinarian and vet tech were good, the service was good, and the prices were decent. I guess as long as you don't come in on Monday it's not too bad of a place.

Great vet service knowledgeable staff

This was hand down my worst vet experience ever and I’ve lived in multiple states and counties with animals. Not only did they cancel on me without 24 hours notice but during my new rescheduled time they took me an hour later than it was scheduled for. Doctor was competent, but the staff is unfriendly, uninformed, and rude. We were not the only ones with problems. There was an older lady that had been there waiting for three hours that day also, so it’s clearly something that happens a lot there. I would never recommend this vet.
