A few weeks ago my dog Ruby (german shorthaired pointer) was dehydrated and not eating. I was going to wait til the next morning to take her to my veterinarian. Fortunately my other dog Mia sensed Ruby was really sick and alerted me. I called Boston West Veterinary at 10:00 PM and they told me to bring my dog in. What a great facility, clean and easily located. The staff was excellent. Runy was diagnosed with Addisons disease. They saved her life. They kept her 2 days. I would get 2 or more updates each day. Thanks to Dr. Agnello and Dr. Sakakeeny and the rest of the staff.

I brought my 10 week old puppy here and the experience could not have been better. It's a clean, calming environment with a wonderful professional staff.

Our dog came to the ER with a case of poisoning and having been to other local vet ERs in our years of having pets. this was a much more positive experience than we've had at the other vet ERs. Everyone was helpful, kind, and dealt with me as a human concerned about their animal. The vets and the vet techs were all outstanding in their humanity and in their willingness to answer questions and offer reassurance. Dr. Sakakeeny was outstanding in her checkins each day for working with my concerns and explaining the factors needed for our dog to stabilize for going home. Not once did I feel rushed when talking with the staff either on the phone or when visiting our dog at the hospital. SO much better of an experience than I've ever had at the other ER vets and now our go-to ER as I've told our vet and anyone I've shared my experience with. Thank you for your stellar work in not only getting our dog home again, but in making his human feel supported and cared for as well.

My sweet baby, Miss Lola, was brought here for emergency treatment after her blood work came back high for liver failure. The first vet I worked with took the time to listen to me first, brought back an ideal treatment plan, and gave me all my options. They were honest and didn’t try to charge me for things that weren’t needed. She was there for 2 nights. During this time, I was able to visit her, feed her, and bring her her favorite baby. At this point, I was working specifically with Dr, Fiocchi. I was able to pick her up on Thanksgiving Day. They went over all medications with me thoroughly and encouraged me to call anytime I needed anything at all. After returning the next week to see how things were going, her 2nd blood test determined she was getting worse, not better, despite the medication. I was given the option to have more tests or to try steroids to see how she would respond (she wasn’t eating consistently which was a major concern.) The steroids only worked temporarily. She sadly went downhill pretty quickly and was laid to rest yesterday afternoon. Dr. Fiocchi was by my side every step of the way. I felt she was honest, caring, and did the best she could for my baby. I didn’t want anyone else to see her because of how wonderful she was with us. She provided comfort that we were doing what was best for Lola and even witnessed as I snotted all over her while Lola was being sleep - handing me a tissue. I would tell anyone to take their baby here. No matter where you go, you’re going to spend money on major medical issues with your pet. I would recommend bringing your pet here. Also, I would like to send out love to Colleen, one of the receptionist there, who also went out of her way to take care of us during this sad, sad time. Thank you for everything, Boston West.

I do not recommend this place. I've been there twice. Both times, I've suspected that many of the tests were done primarily to increase the charges. The last time, they estimated that the costs would be more than $2300 for a cat with a UTI. I told them not to do several tests- like X-rays - that seemed ridiculous, and got the price down to $1300. The medical care was fine and the staff is kind, but the focus is definately on increasing charges. My regular vet did exactly the same stuff (without the tests) for the cost of a regular office visit.

Should have this place bookmarked if you have a pet. Only ER in the area. Have had a bad experience with a pet dying here and all they wanted was our money first before they would key us see our decreased dog, but other than that they took good care of my other dog.

We spent almost 4 hours there due to other more pressing cases taking priority. I totally understand that they are more pressing, but we were unable to just go home because we were checked in and would be charged for just walking through the door. It was a complete waste of money and a terrible night for the whole family. The staff is very nice but I would have liked to just go home and keep my money and see my normal vet the next day since my dog started improving in his own. By the time we were seen, he was ok enough that we could have waited till the morning. I am pregnant and hadn't eaten dinner. We were not given a timeframe of when we would be seen so we assumed it would be any minute. Hours passed and the vending machine was almost empty and it nearly caused me to have my own medical emergency because I hadn't eaten real food in over 12 hours. It was a very frustrating experience and I hope I never have to go here again.

Couldn't ask for better. The staff, vet techs and the veteranian herself were kind and caring. I thought I was there for my male cat's end of life visit and Jack (my cat) is now home again. Jack is of indetermanate age but I know he is old and he and I will spend the rest of his days as if each is his last, Kevin.

Truly a great experience. We went in late Sunday/Early Monday for an issue with our dog. Our dog is not a huge fan of the vet but the nurse and dr all took the time to make her comfy. They did a great job explaining to us what was going on and keeping us updated. The cost was incredibly reasonable for an emergency visit, sedation, and medication. If we ever have an emergency with the dog we will definitely be going here again.

My poor 14 year old had been treated at another hospital for her eye issues. Unfortunately she developed acute glaucoma and needed to be seen immediately. The ophthalmologist she was going to happen to be out of the country, of course I know perfect timing on my dog’s part.

Vinicius Collin

We had such a great service in this place, after the amazing service they keep calling me just to make sure if my little puppy is all right, in those little things that we can really see that you guys take good care of your costumer ! Thank you very much blue is getting better !

I brought our Cat to this facility twice, both times they got me in right away, they treated us like family, they treated our pet with loving care. They explained everything to us both times they found out what the issue was the first time and treated it and our Cat rebounded big time. Unfortunately this time was an emergency visit but we were still treated like family, from the receptionist, the techs and the doctor they loved our cat like their own, everything was explained to us fully, they gave us all the time we needed when it was decided we had to put her down. The facility and staff were just outstanding, caring and loving. Highly recommend this facility for your pets. Hi i left this review after we had to put down our cat LillyAnn. It still hurts today but the feelings that i put down in this review were even more enhance when we received not only a card from the owner but from the staff. The doctor took the time out to send a note all the staff signed the card and left notes. The owners also made a donation in our cats name. If this place is close to you please use it. I can only give it a 5 Star rating but it is so much more than that. Should we decide to venture out and get another pet or two. This is my place of choice for them to be treated.

My husband and I had to take our 10 yo cat George to IVG over the weekend for an ongoing IBS problem. We were referred to by our Vet at Post Road Veterinarian Hospital in Charlton after severals tries to get him to move his bowels. His situation was becoming increasingly dangerous to the point that it would have effected his heart and other organs. He was cared for by several doctors and staff members. I can only remember one doctor's name and she is Dr Silk. Who is a specialist in this type of problem. After trying a new protocol using Golytley, a product that is used for patients having colonoscopies. It worked somewhat but not the way they had hoped so he had to be put under and have the stool removed manually. She was successful thank the good Lord. They saved him from having to be operated on which was something we could not have afforded. And we feared the worst was to come. We are so grateful for everyone at IVG who helped George who is now home with his brother and sister, resting comfortably and quietly. We can't thank everyone enough for taking such good care of our George. He is a very special cat to us and to many others. Everyone who meets him, falls in love with him. He is our gentle giant with the best personality you could as for in a pet. Everyone there was so helpful and sympathetic as well as empathetic. They explained everyone that needed to be done and what will need to be done in the future. I would recommend IVG to anyone who needs a great place to take their pets for high quality care. Thank you again IVG for saving George. We are so relieved and so happy. Thank you. Sincerely, Debbie and Scott Surprenant and of course Georgie

Great staff and awesome care! I've been here many times and they always do a fantastic job.

Everyone there was very nice. We took our dog there after she suffered what we though was a simple seizure. After checking her in overnight they ran some tests and found out that she had cancer and actually suffered a stroke. They gave us options that unfortunately were not the best but we knew what we had to do. We brought our dog back a day later to get her put down and the staff was amazingly caring for all of us. It was a sad day for our small family but they had great post life options and even sent a sympathy card after the fact. Very nice people and knowledgeable vet techs and doctors.

My Chocolate Lab is 14 yrs old. Last spring she would go into occasional convulsions because she could not breath. My vet referred her to IVG. I was preparing myself to say goodbye. I was amazed that this facility has every type of specialist for animals that I would find in a hospital for humans.. surgeon, orthopedist, anesthesiologist, internist... They recommended a corrective surgery to consider. The care was incredible, I could call to check on her 24/7. My chocolate lab is now 14 and walking the trails with me daily and I couldn't be happier with the surgery and care. I think IVG is amazing.

I can't even begin to tell mine and Micks story of last month. He suddenly started bleeding out, rapidly and would never have made it to Tufts or Angel. These veterinarians saved my dog Micks life and I am so very grateful! He's a ten year old Chihuahua and they did everything quickly and efficiently from oxygen crib to blood transfusion and every test possible to discover what was wrong. They saved my little Micks life. The entire staff was wonderful and I felt like I was in a "human" emergency hospital by the professional care I witnessed! Finally an emergency hospital in our area! They get an A+ from us with much gratitude. Again, thanks to the whole team for saving our little Mick!

We had very bad experience with this company. Two our kittens are dead. One was just two weeks old, but doctors didn't tell us upfront that there's no hope at all, they charged us for useless medications instead. Another kitten had surgery that was successful, but he died due to lack of post-operative care which should be in place 24/7. Nonetheless they charged us a lot of money, and they are doing the same with other people (see testimonials on Yelp). They delete negative testimonials from their website, so these people lie to their customers trying to cover their faults. Their only interest is money, in reality they have no compassion to helpless animals and their owners. Please, stay away from them.

I had an emergency with my cat and from the initial phone call until after the treatment, the staff was pleasant and professional. The vet was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything that was done and what I needed to do at home. Great experience.

It’s so difficult to tap Five Stars because I came here on a Sunday night to have my beautiful cat put down. However as as horrible as this was, I am so glad that I chose this Hospital♥️ The staff were supportive and kind and quiet. We were brought into a small private room with carpet and sofas and chairs and plenty of tissue boxes. We were given as much time as we needed with our pet and the wonderful Vet came in and was literally radiating love and kindness. My cat passed in my arms and truly I couldn’t ask for a more gentle and loving ending. Three days later my family received a sympathy card from the vets. Three of them wrote in it and I’m not talking about a signature and a sorry , it was beautiful lovely true kind words that made my family feel like they truly cared. So yes , five stars ⭐️

It was the worst experience in my life ever, all I needed was an x-ray to see if my dog have anything Stuck in is stomach, instead they gave my dog a medication that was not even FDA approved and was trying to do exams on my dog that he didn’t even need it so they could charge me for it, when I asked the doctor about the medication that was not FDA approved because I Google it and find out the issue with my dog on second visit was the side effects of the medication her answer about the not FDA approved medication was she doesn’t work for the Government.

I have a American Bully named Minnie she was in need of an emergency c section...I brought my baby here and I'm can say I'm highly dissatisfied with how this hospital operates...the young lady at the front desk was amazing she is the one that tried to help me find somewhere that would help me with my baby as she need a c section and the doctor at night wanted so badly to help my but couldn't because I didn't have 3000$ to pay upfront for the surgery. He did call the following day to see if I did find help. But my problem is my baby girl could be sitting here with atleast one of her two pups alive if they would have just done the surgery in the first place I had already paid 508$ upfront just for blood work and x raya and 147$ of that is just walking in the door. I had to pay before they even touched my dog....I'm only giving the one star because the lady at the front desk and the doctor really was nice and tried to help me but their hands was tied because of the hospital policy for payment upfront....LIKE HELLO YOU ARE AN EMERGENCY ROOM FOR A REASON YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE THERE FOR WHEN PEOPLE HAVE EMERGENCIES WITH THEIR FUR BABIES...YOU HONESTLY THINK PEOPLE WALK AROUND WITH OVER 3000$ IN THEIR POCKET...mind you I had most of the money just didn't have the last 500$ of the 3000$ but they couldn't help at all...I blame them for the lose of my puppies...I will never ever take my girl back here no matter what!!!

Went in the evening on Easter Sunday for a dog bite. Dr. Kaluba was great and Jocelyn was super helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks y'all.

An incredible and wonderfully caring staff at every level - the emergency care staff (late at night) all the way through to the weekends. Our lab was 12+ years old and faced complications due to an onset of cancer and complications therein. We did all that we could to make him comfortable and happy the last four weeks, whilst we gave him care at home with direction from our new, IVG MetroWest friends. End of life care is never easy, but we were lucky to have an extra month to say goodbye, cook lots of great meals, and take walks together along his favorite spots around the lake. Thank you all for your help, caring, and love! Our Reilly is in doggie heaven and being able to have him cared for with such love until the end was important to us all. THANK YOU!

If I could give this place a zero, I would. My dog was not feeling well and my regular vet ran a blood screen and found he had high WBC and Liver counts. She suggested he get an ultrasound to see what was going on. Unfortunately, I could not get into Tufts quickly so she called IVG and they said they could fit me in for an Ultrasound only on a Saturday AM. I make the appt w IVG and specifically state I am coming in for an ultrasound only. I arrive at the appt and of course they screwed it up and had me in for an appt w Internal Med. Due to their screw up the Dr said he would do the ultrasound. He came back and said that my dog has a baseball size mass on his liver. Devastated..... long story short. I got an appt at Tufts and what do you know..... NO MASS....... Not only does your customer service need training, clearly your Dr's do as well. Idiots! It's no wonder I was told, "Only allow the ultrasound. Absolutely no treatment. They have the worst rep. " NO Kidding!!

miah kattman

Terrible experience. My dying cat had $1500 of asthma treatment and he was sent home in the same condition to prolong his suffering. He was traumatized in the oxygen tank with noisy dogs and when I asked If they should sedate him they said no. I had to call a wonderful vet in Natick to put him to sleep at home. Two days later. I would never never return. I felt scammed and infuriated that they charged all this money for my 14 year old boy. The vet who came to the house said he had heart issues - no question. Beware!

Casey S

I had to bring my cat in at 2 am for a physical injury. I was in a rough place and having a difficult time forming thoughts. The staff I interacted with were extremely friendly and calm and took wonderful care of my ham child!

Jen P

They took great care of my cat who had an infected abscess on his face. Prices weren't bad and the staff was super friendly.

Sandra Nowlan

IVG Metrowest has the most caring professionals in the industry! My 7 yrs old Shih Tzu just had her eye removed due to glaucoma. I can't thank Dr. Cassotis, Jennifer, Ellen and the rest of the team who have shown great compassion thru this experience. I wouldn't go anywhere else for ER or speciality care!

I am very grateful that we have this open 24-hours, 365 days-a-year emergency care pet facility available in Metro West. The staff and doctors are very skilled, and very caring.

Maria Kadison

This an unbelievably wonderful pet hospital. The people are amazingly caring and considerate. My dog was very sick. The vet techs laid out 4 layers of comforters and brought cute stuffed animals for comfort. Don't believe some of the complaints in these reviews about sneaky and high pricing. First of all Emergency services are expensive. Second, the doctors explained every and all testing and treatment options exhaustively as well as the cost implications of each including the option of doing nothing. I asked a ton of questions and they patiently answered everyone, sometimes twice. I will always return in case of emergency. Maria
