Could not recommend this place (Tremont St location) more. Having a reactive/nervous pup can be super stressful but the staff here is SO accommodating and puts us at ease anytime we need to come in for an appointment. Dr. Lindsey, Dr. Brian, and so many others have been so helpful, friendly, patient whether it was coming in for a quick check-up, a behavioral assessment, or vaccinations. Their Fear-Free Certified Care is really a game-changer compared to other vets we have gone to. We are more than happy to travel from an hour away anytime we need to see the vet. Thanks for the great service!

Worst vet clinic I have ever been to. I will tell everyone and anyone who asks to avoid it at all costs if they love their pet. I had to take my dog and leave without finishing all the vaccine shots. Here are the facts. The vet stuck a needle into my little 12-pound schnauzer 3 times to deliver exactly 1 vaccine! 3 Times! Two tries for one vaccine and 1 more, unsuccessful try, for another. That alone, should tell you the competence level of the stuff in this clinic. But here is some more info. After the third time, for which my pet, understandably, didn't want to sit still (they made me hold him down for this by the way) the vet pulled out the needle she already stuck into my dog without delivering the vaccine. Then she folded her hands in her lap, pursed her lips and proceeded to tell me that my pet is scared and that they would recommend him taking anti-anxiety drugs before they deliver other shots. Are you kidding me? Of course he is scared after you jabbed him three times! Who wouldn't be? This is not the first time I took my dog to get shots. The professional vets - you know, the ones who know how to do their job - would hold him tight and quickly deliver the shots before he knew what happened. He'd forget all about it by the time we get home. Not at this clinic. Here, they will scare and torture your pet and then proceed to tell you about their philosophy of not 'traumatizing' the animals. Then they will suggest drugging the dog. My bad, I should say 'giving him anti-anxiety medicine' before the next visit. Oh, and so it happens, they sell that medicine at the office. In fact, the brochures about it are everywhere. What a coincidence. Philosophy, my backside! Just call it plain, old greed! Tell the customers in advance that they have to buy the medicine, drug their pet, and then you'll practice delivering shots on them. And, just to round-up the experience you should expect - I also ended up paying $75 for the 'wellness exam' more than half of which the vet spent finding a treat that my dog liked, and the other half up-selling me on full panel bloodwork that was a 'really good' deal. Such level of incompetence combined with so thinly veiled greed (or delusion?) I have never witnessed in my life. The worst part though, they tortured my dog!

It was the first time my puppy and i were in a veterinary office and everything was great!. I was worried about my puppy Bandit being scared but he was happy and playful!

Patient, professional, and great with our pets

My dog, Teddy, got a scratch on his cornea and received wonderful care here. Before discovering this, the affected eye had swelling, redness, and pupil constriction. Trying to avoid a costly visit to an animal hospital, I called a few vets prior to discovering Boston Veterinary Clinic. They were the only ones that found a way to fit Teddy into their schedule same day - I called at 12:32pm and had an appointment at 1pm! We were cared by Vet Randi Henry & an assistant (I forget her name, but she was awesome). They put a numbing agent and temporary stain in his eye to identify the scratch, flushed it clean, gave us eye drops and pain meds and we were on our way. We have since received calls asking how Teddy is doing. We would be fine without, but it is definitely reassuring to know our vet is accessible. The folks at the front desk are on the quiet side. Our vet said she’d like to see us in a follow up appointment, but no one at the desk mentioned it when we checked out. All good otherwise. Thank you!

Dr. Waisburd is the best! Dedicated, patient, experienced, and caring--you can't find a better vet!

We have been clients of Dr. B since he had his mobile vet clinic many years ago and have been incredibly satisfied with the service he and the entire staff at Boston Veterinary Clinic offer during each and every visit. Whether it has been dealing with routine issues or life threatening ones, Dr. B has been incredibly patient, supportive, informative, and most importantly, caring. We couldn’t recommend him or the entire staff more!

Sara Do

This was a good spot for the first few visits for a typical check-up. However, when my cat was acting a little off they insisted on multiple blood tests and when the first results didn't come back due to a lab error, they had me come back in and up-sold another test with a lot of pushing. I was ripped off and was surprised a nice place like this would do that. I recently adopted a puppy, I will not be continuing vet care here. I found another location that is a lot more reasonable and treats your pet like their own.

Amy Witt

“Fear-free” is real! My dog used to be so terrified of the vet that she’d desperately try to run away, shake in fear, and hide her face. Here she did surprisingly well and even warmed up to the vet and vet techs, especially when they gave her treats. ;)

Heather Jones Hwang

Great vet and thankful for being force free and setting a positive example for our pets.

Brian Arrington

A great environment and the highest level of care.

Aynsley Ludka

Dr. B is wonderful with both the animals and his clients! I have two cats that are very difficult to work with. They hiss, bite and scratch any strangers. Dr. B was able to talk with me to help me feel more comfortable with the situation and then work with my kitties as well. They were still ornery but he was able to do an exam and even get blood work which have been impossible to do in the past. He also took the time to really address all of my concerns and I left feeling great about the care my cats received as well as their health in the future, knowing that he was addressing that also. I will definitely be returning to Dr. B for all of my future animal issues.

Tan Kabra

My dogs have come to Boston veterinary clinic since the day they were born and I wouldn’t change that for anything. Dr. B and his team are extremely experienced and more importantly create a fear free environment for the pups!

I LOVE this vet. It's everything I could possibly hope for for my kitty - clean, crisp, chic waiting area and the friendliest, most professional staff and vets. My cat sees Dr. Kelly and she consistently gives detailed analysis of labs and walks through all the options with me so I can make an informed decision. The staff remember each pet and treat them with love and great care! My cat is elderly and needs a lot of TLC, and our vet is super gentle and knowledgeable! He is a happy camper at BVC. Highly highly recommend to pet parents.

Kate Thibault

We (and our dog Leo) love coming to the clinic in Brookline. Very capable kind staff and Leo wouldn't miss any chance to see Dr Beth Waisburd!

Jacoby B

My roommate's cat Love's this place every time my feline friend comes here he meows so loud and loves it and rubs against the people that work here your family and pet will love it here too tell him I sent you they give free doggie treats to

Tammy Nguyen

Very friendly and accommodating clinic! Appointments can be requested online and via the PetDesk app - very user friendly) and all the staff at the Boston Veterinary Clinic have been fantastic! Our senior Shih Tzu sees Dr. Randi and loves coming here for his visits (the treats may be have something to do with that :)...), but we're happy that he's happy!

Jane Freeman

I highly recommend BVC! BVC has been so gentle and loving to my pet. The whole team is welcoming and truly loves every animal that walks in (I suggest following them on instagram, its adorable). They are upfront and clear about pricing and what to expect for future appointments and treatments. They don't waste your time or money. It's always a pleasant experience at Boston Veterinary Clinic!

Eduardo Caquias

Without a doubt the best experience at a veterinary clinic. Everything from the customer service, to the staff, and the top-notch facility. Dr. Bourquin is truly a dedicated vet that shows his love for the animals he takes takes care of. Extremely knowlegeable and is able to explain complex and technical details in a very clear and simple way.

Molly Stephens

When I adopted my cat they warned me that she had never done well with vet exams. To me delight our first visit here went off without a hitch. Shiloh was seen in a cat-only room by a great tech and vet. The whole facility is oriented around fear-free practices, it's a great place to bring your pet!

Leslie Parker Medeiros

Dr. Bourquin is the Best Vet in Boston hands down. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate Vet for their pet. Words can not express how grateful we are to have him in our pet's lives. He took care of our Himalayan/Ragdoll cat Kirby for over 10 years. We recently lost Kirby due to illness. She was 20 years young. Dr. B was there immediately to assist. He as well as Paul, continued as guardian angel, in helping with an unexpected adoption. We now have the love of Valentino, a British Short hair, to spoil rotten. We will never worry if he has quality care. Dr. B's specialty is commitment to exceptional VIP service for all ages - Animal & their owner. We would be lost without him. Joseph and Leslie Parker Medeiros

my cat's new vet (since we Live near Boston now). dr beth (and all staff) are very courteous and helpful to us during visits. thank you.

Mervina Rasimin

I love Boston Veterinary Clinic (BVC) because all the vets, the vet techs, and the support staff have been so wonderful to my furchild, Max. This wasn't the first furchild I brought to BVC. And, my current furchild is a rescue with anxiety issues especially when he went to the vet according to the rescue center, where I adopted him from. However, Max was completely fine when I took him the first time to BVC and he loved it. Dr. Henry and Jen were awesome and so patient with Max. As Dr. Henry was very informative with Max's gastro and allergy issue, Jen was very gentle when handling him to get his blood drawn. I am extremely grateful to have found this clinic and very pleased with BVC service due to employing only the well-trained, highly professional staff. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone, who has furchild(ren). Thank you BVC, you are the best!!! And, keep up the PAWSOME work.

We have been taking Rover to see Dr. B and Dr. Randi since we adopted him last summer. He had been a fairly healthy pup until last weekend when he came down with some weird GI symptoms. Boston Veterinary Clinic has been so responsive and helpful in getting this figured out. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the clinic is clean and modern, and the care has been tremendous. Thank you Boston Veterinary Clinic for all that you do for Rover and the rest of the pets in Boston!

Samantha Morse

I loved the staff interaction and friendliness. The facility was inviting as it could be for a vet clinic. Thanks!

Femke Remie

very rude on the phone when only asking questions

Attitude and rudeness.

Dr Brian has cared for our Yorkie since we adopted him. He has always shown such care and concern for our little one. We just had our first visit at his new clinic and it's amazing! Dr B spent a lot of time reviewing Sammy's health with us. Sammy has developed cataracts. Dr B researched our options for specialists in the area and promptly called us back to review his findings. We'll continue to trust our pet's well being with Dr Brian and the entire staff at Boston Veterinary.

Taylor Micheroni

The team at Boston Vetrinary Clinic is amazing!!!! Duke was feeling so tired and sick that they did all of his exam and treatment in the waiting room since it was a quiet day, wish I could share pictures on this review. Can’t thank everyone there enough for helping my baby when he was feeling sick!

Evan K Burnim

Dr Waisburd is extremely knowledgeable and excels at using this knowledge to develop a complete and compassionate plan for the care of my dog in such a kind and down to earth manner.

Jane Curylo

Very happy with my first visit. I was seen promptly. Everyone was very friendly and careful with my very nervous dog. I am happy that I chose Boston Veterinary.

Nehoc #3

Parking is very tough to find though, but that's Brookline for you.

Mandy Zobel

Everyone here is so kind and truly loves animals. I know that my little guy, Romulus, is in the best of hands whenever he goes for a visit.

Christina Holland

I've been coming to BVC for a few years now and have had nothing but the best care for my lab, Rosie. She recently had an amputation and the staff has been wonderful, can you believe that she is still happy to go in the doors? She walks in and is wagging her tail and happy to see everyone. Dr Brian and Dr Kelly have been very patient with me (and especially her!) as we navigate this scary time and have been incredibly kind.

Mark Tse

Due to a horrible experience when they were very young, my cats have developed a profound fear to the vet, turning my super sweet and outgoing Max into the devil when he gets on the table. Boston Veterinary Clinic absolutely lives up to all of it's 5 star reviews! Holy smokes! Max puked in the taxi over, so they took the time to take him into another room and clean him up (along with the case). There were 2 doctors and 1 assistant on Max and they were able to keep him distracted and inspected and given shots without incident at all! In the past at another clinic Max bit me and was poking as he cowered in the corner of the room. They had to use a leather glove and blanket and when Max was stuck with the needle he howled what he thought was a final death cry. Well, at the Boston Veterinary Clinic, there was none of that. Just incredible!

Shari Savitch

It was the best experience I have had with taking my pet to a veterinarian practice. Friendly, clean, decor amazing and staff very knowledgeable. That's what is important. I love the parking and everything about Boston Veterinary Clinic.

Greg Hartwell

We have had a great experience with the Boston Veterinary Clinic. The team there is accommodating, responsive, and professional. Our dog feels comfortable being seen by their professionals and we are able to leave knowing he'll be better than when he entered.

Suzanne Spignesi

We took our new dog to Boston Veterinary Clinic, and we were so pleased! Dr. Lindsay was great - she was so sweet with our pup! He clearly loved her. He didn't even notice when she gave him his vaccine! She spent extra time with us, answering our "new dog paw-rents" questions (of which there were many!) and she was kind and helpful. The facility is nice and all the folks who work there are very friendly and kind. Highly recommend!

Jennifer Glickman

SUCH great service! Everyone who works at Boston Veterinary Clinic is kind and helpful. You can tell they are truly "animal people." A bit pricier than other vets in the area, but they explain all of your charges to you openly and you definitely get what you pay for!

Joe Petrillo

Boston Vet Clinic is great. They are a friendly staff and also very accommodating. I would highly recommend bringing your pet here.

Jonathan C

Fantastic service! Extremely welcoming, conveniently located, willing to answer any random questions or curiosities, & the vet was wonderful with our cat! Plus they give you itemized bills to review and discuss so you don't feel like you're getting the screws turned on you. This is the spot if you have a pet in the area.

Mary Marineau

No one can tell me if they see pitbulls and how they treat our furbabies! I just want to know if they treat them as good as the other furbabies that go their!? I have been to many vets with my furbabies and they treat them like they are monsters! My furbabies are my family and I want a vet who will treat my furbabies Vida and Minez as if they were there's!

Fantastic vets and lovely vet techs and office staff...very knowledgeable and offer great care

Caroline Barone

I was extremely impressed with the staff. Dr. Beth in particular was/is absolutely wonderful in handling anxious dog. It was obvious how much she genuinely cared about him. I have never met a more caring vet.

Elizabeth Long

Boston Veterinary Clinic is AMAZING. We love everyone there and they take amazing care of our pup! Its one of her favorite places!

Dr. Brian and his team have been great to work with since we got our dog 2 years ago. Recently, we came to him with a challenge we had been facing since we got our dog - his fear of the city. Since we live in Boston this was a tough one to get over so we worked with several behaviorist but were unable to make any real progress. However, Dr. Brian was proactive about working with us through different options until we finally found something that worked. He was very honest throughout the entire process and went out of his way by making himself available to us at all times via email/phone, scheduled several visits with us and met with local reps to learn more about newer medications before prescribing them. I would highly recommend Dr. Brian as a behavior professional.

Mark Shura

Dr. Bourquin has been our veterinarian for nearly five years. In that time we've moved a few times creating greater physical distance between us, however, we've driven our dog to him or he's come to us as part of his concierge service. With Dr. Bourquin, we know that our boy is in very good hands. Dr. Brian takes the time to listen and educates us as much as he gives us peace of mind. We can't think of a place that would provide better care and I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bourquin.

Lacey James

These guys are super friendly, tech savvy, and great with my puppy! Love Dr. Randy!

Adrienne Jacoby

Boston Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Beth Waisburd are the best. She goes above and beyond for her patients and their humans :) She has taken phenomenal care of my dogs and I trust her implicitly. When I got a new puppy, I was so sad to find she’d left her previous practice. It wasn’t the same without her but Dr. Beth has set the bar high and I wasn’t willing to compromise. I began the search for a new vet (uuugh!) and was thrilled when I discovered Beth Waisburd was right here! I quickly called and made appointments for my two dogs. This office is even better than her last! I can’t say enough good things. They are a “fear free” office and they do a million little things to make your pet’s experience as enjoyable as possible. The facility is new, high tech and always really clean (you wouldn’t know you’re at the veterinarian). They also have a great app to communicate with them. To anyone looking for a place to take your furry family members, look no further. THIS IS IT!

UPDATED Review. Thank you so much for your reply. I will stop by the clinic to get a better idea how things in your clinic work and then I can make a better decision. Kind regards, Jasmina Old review: I recently moved to Boston. I have a dog who has allergy. I get prescription and a bottle with immunotherapy vial from his dermatologist and I need to just administer the shot every 2 weeks. I don't have always a person to hold my dog to help me do it. I called Boston Veterinary Clinic to ask how much they will charge me to give the shot only. The lady at the front desk was not very helpful. She kept saying she can't provide this information because the dog would first need to be examined for $75. I explained that I need an estimate because he needs to receive this shot every two weeks (so I need this info ahead of time so I know how much it will cost me to do that at their clinic - one clinic that I talked to provided an estimate of $100 per visit, which is a lot so I obviously want to find a better deal), but she kept repeating I need to have an appointment first and I could not speak to the vet before that about it. I don't think administering already prescribed vial for allergy is an out of the ordinary service that I could not have a price estimate before taking my dog there. Or she could have suggested to talk to the vet if she did not know.

If you have a perfect pet with no issues this place will be fine for you. If you're looking for help or support or resources for your dog, don't expect to get any help outside of what aligns with their own agenda. My dog is deaf and has overstimulation/anxiety outside and in vet offices. BVC is against ecollars, which we use to help her with commands and walking nicely on a leash. We don't use it to torture her or hurt her. It is a tool that when used PROPERLY is perfectly safe. Regardless they are against it and that's fine, I respect that. That's not the issue. The issue is that we went in because 10 days after going from the suburbs to being adopted to us in the city she had a little blood on the end of her stool. We assumed it was stress from diet changes and life changes but wanted to be sure. The second the vet saw her, after they messed up the poop sample and made us wait 90 minutes to even be TOLD that, he saw the collar and immediately blamed everything on the collar. He assumed we use it to torture her and use it constantly. He asked us no questions about her past, how long she's been trained on it (months before we got her!) what diet changes she's had and where she lived before. He didn't even ask how long we've had her. He also told us to NEVER let her near other dogs because she had the audacity to get spooked when taken to get blood and came across another dog. SHES DEAF. The vet did nothing but blame all of her issues on the collar and never bothered to ask us any questions. He also gave no solutions and said himself 'I know she's deaf and that's why you use it, we are just against them'. Thanks for the tip! We won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for help. Like i said he gave no answers and wouldn't have a constructive conversation to help us understand his side.

Russell Barrie

Doctor B is the best. He really takes the time and communicates with us about whats going on. My frenchie Kazie was always getting sick and we went all over boston and no one could help us. I met Dr. B and started going to the Boston Veterinary clinic and he completely took care of Kazie! She is and has been in perfect health now for over a year! My girlfriend and I couldn't be happier. I highly suggest anyone to take their dog to Dr. B because from personal experience he is the best veterinarian in Boston.

Christa Gonsalves

Dr. Bourquin is wonderful! He is great with follow ups. Everyone at the clinic is really friendly and really seems to love the animals.

Bill Corrigan

Really like this veterinary clinic. Doctor Brian and the rest of the team put the animals' welfare first and foremost Also they communicate very well, both during the visit and after with both phone and email follow up. This is key for me. Also having a parking lot is such an excellent benefit for its location in the heart of Bay Village. We'll bring our little morkie dog there for the foreseeable future.

Jennifer Clinton

So happy with my visit. Dog's tail was constantly wagging. He's even excited for eye drops thanks to great advice from Dr! The entire staff gave my dog the love and attention he (and I) think he deserves. From what I witnessed they lavish each animal with that level of love and attention.

Natalie Kenney

Great environment, very friendly staff, very knowledgable! Tito had a great first visit!

Drew Hubbard

Dr. Randi is awesome! She is highly respectful of our cats, responsive and interactive with the humans. I feel good about following her medical advise for my aging cats.

Michelle Dhanda

I appreciate the care that the Boston Veterinary Clinic shows to my lovely dog. I particularly appreciate the expertise of Dr. Randi and her love of dogs.

Chelsea Lakey Smith

So kind and helpful with every interaction! Thank you :-)

Thomas Greer

Wet friendly staff. They are very accommodating. The vets and nurses were all extremely helpful during my pet’s visit

Jinshan Guo

Very good

Meredith Anderson

This is a very nice veterinary clinic. The people and the vet techs are very nice. My experience with the vet I was assigned, who is one of the few their who prefer to work with cats, has been mixed. the doctor definitely knows what they are doing, but I have gotten a hew snide remarks from this doctor. The space is also really nice, and spotlessly clean. They are very considerate with my kitties, even the one who changes from a big fluffy galumph into a ferocious mountain lion when he has to go to the vet's. I The waiting area is calm and pleasant, and the examining rooms are nicely decorated. I never have a long wait for the doctor either. Dr. Bourqin will actually do house calls if you have a pet that hates to travel!

Bob Grant

Very professional and caring veterinary clinic.

Heather Soukas

I have had a family vet for about 15y and brought both of my dogs here for 3y. No terrible experiences but no great ones either. It is a very busy office & sometimes takes a while to get an appointment, so when I show up early it is a little disappointing that I sometimes wait close to an hour to see anyone. There is almost always an unhappy customer in the waiting area. I brought one dog in for a suspected ear infection & they quickly ruled it out but still insisted on running a boatload of tests. $300 later for over the counter ear wash. Always a surprise separate emailed invoice for the tests ran in the same appointment. When I was quoted almost $900 for a routine puppy spay I was a bit insulted & finally decided enough was enough. The vet tech at my new provider apparently also works here and said that staff even acknowledges VERY inflated prices. Find somewhere else.

Craig Shames

Dr. B is the best.

Mary Anne

I am so very pleased with my experiences. This last time, the doctor got on the phone personally to answer questions. No one does that these days! Also, when I was worried about the stress of bringing a sick cat in, they gave me an appointment with a technician without the cat to explain how to give fluids. I am so very happy, I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you.

Toby Dutra

Dr. B and his staff are terrific!!! My cat, Benny, was in a awful fight with another animal. Getting him into the carrier to take him to the clinic was out of the question. Dr. B's response to my call for a home visit was very fast. His kindness and caring to Benny went above and beyond anything I ever expected. I would (and have) highly recommended the clinic and Dr. B to friends and family.

Craig Sherman

Awesome veterinary clinic with an incredible staff. Everyone who works here is simply amazing. My dog has seen Dr. Randi, Dr. Kelly and Dr. B (and numerous techs/other vet staff) and they all make everything as easy as possible for my pup in a fear-free environment. Convenient location, ample parking, and of course tons of treats and love for my doggo while he waits to be seen (thanks Rain!). I can't think of going anywhere else to for vet services. Keep up the fantastic work!

Jen Shaw

This place takes great care of my two cats! Dr. Randi cares and listens to her patients with empathy.

Lauren Junge

My husband and I adopted a kitten who ended up having a serious heart problem. We chose BVC as his vet and I’m so glad we did. We saw Dr.Beth, who was always so great with him and informative about his condition. He ended up taking a turn for the worse and passed away in January at only one year old. Obviously, it’s a terrible situation when that happens but Dr. Beth kept tabs on the situation and was very supportive through the whole ordeal. After he passed we received a very thoughtful card from her. These guys go above and beyond and as long as we reside in Boston any pet we have will be seen by them. Highly recommend!!

Edan Shekar

I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Temple, Dr. Randi, and the staff at Boston Veterinary. Dr. Kelly and BVC have been our cat’s primary care since he was 8 weeks old, and now at 2 years, will remain so for as long as I can help it.

Johnny S

A really wonderful environment to bring your animal!

Agnes Kavalecz Horstmann

Adam Hoover

My dog Biscuit has been coming here since she was just 3 months old, and she has always gotten excellent care for everything from vaccinations, to surgery, to just normal checkups. The staff is great, and the office itself is really nice too!

Kenston Rockwell

These guys and gals took wonderful care of my pup and were happy to answer any questions I had. Furthermore, they really try to get to know your animal so that it isn't just another doc visit. (The cod skins are like crack for my older pup - kudos to Polkadog!)

Francisco Corrales

An outstanding clinic with great veterinarians whom will treat your pet(s) with exceptional care. I am always respectfully treated and they will work with you when there is a glitch. For instance, during my last appointment there was an issue with the scheduling system. I wasn't on the books despite receiving a confirmation. Due to the fact that the issue was with the system they used, I was still seen that day in a reasonable amount of time (within 30 minutes of my original appointment). Furthermore, I was given a courtesy credit on my account for my time! I have lived in many areas of the country and I really do believe Boston Veterinary Clinic is one of the best in the nation.

Sylvie Neis

Great clinic supporting fear free handling of pets. Fear free also means speaking against any aversive training methods and collars, as vets are the ones who need to let people know that prong collars, choke collars etc can do a lot of harm in an animal's neck. Keep promoting fear free!! It is the way every vet clinic should work in 2018!

Sy

Your Pet will thank you.

Samantha Gajewski

We came to BVC with our dog Bruno after his usual vet could not fit us in for a fairly urgent same-week appointment request for an injured leg. We got in quickly, and saw Dr. Kelly, who was very helpful and took the time to explain the prognosis/recommended next steps. Our dog ended up needing to be sedated for radiographs and the entire team was very accommodating, especially after Bruno came out of the sedation, and took a lot of time to explain the medications we had to give him afterward and proper dosing (also followed up via email). Dr. Kelly also showed us the radiographs and explained her thoughts. She also promptly followed up via phone the next day once the radiologist had a chance to look at the images. Overall, a very pleasant experience, with very accommodating/friendly staff. We will likely be switching to this vet going forward after such a good experience!

Caroline Constant

Wonderful experience evaluating and treating my dog for isolation anxiety.

Saleana ManSyndra

I scheduled an appointment online and never got a reply. Then I wrote an email to schedule an appointment at BVCare and got a reply in 15 minutes. What do I know about BVClinic? No idea.

April Lott

Amazing to see a vet keep up not only in their field of expertise (health and medicine), but in all aspects of care for your pet. Being fear free and endorsing methods of teaching animals that are scientifically validated makes them a top notch facility. Keep up the amazing work!

karen sandy

Always great, as a force free trainer and a past vet tech, to see fear free education in place! We are indeed their voice, when owners see and hear your passion, I believe many ears will listen!

Jerimie Craig

Dr. B is the best and has been our family vet for years. His practice is kind and professional. Would recommend to anyone.

I would leave zero stars if I could... I emailed about pricing for a spay for my dog and they went ahead and scheduled me for an appointment that I didn’t need? So when I told them I was inquiring about pricing and that my dog JUST had a $400 checkup at a place that is an hour away, Tianna rudely mentioned that my best bet is to stay at the clinic I got blood work and an exam from. They just want to take your money even though you have thorough documentation from prior vet. In reply to the response from the owner: it’s a shame that I have all of the emails saved and an appointment scheduled that I didn’t request, and that your definition of going “above and beyond” is telling me to “go back to the vet that I went to.” I’m sorry but I didn’t receive any information, no phone call or really any other follow up and quite frankly I would never want rude people such as you and your staff taking care of my dog. Most places are able to look at prior records from other vets, so yes, your practice literally was trying to take my money. :) and I’m sure any dog owner would agree that they would not want to drive for hours after there dog has had such an extensive surgery as a spay, I’m looking out for my dog, not what’s “convenient” for me :)

We adopted 2 cats from Boston Animal Rescue with whom they partner - our cats where checked out by BVC when they arrived and again before we took them home, so we went back when our kitties seemed under the weather. The Doctors and staff are so attentive to each pets individual needs, from claiming remedies to wait-in-your-car services. The follow-up from the doctors and staff is excellent. They truly care about you and your animals!

Once you wrestle past the gate, Boston Veterinary Clinic rewards you with its spotless and well-appointed interiors. A friendly admin or tech will greet you at the front desk, and your furry (/scaly?) companion(s) will be seen to promptly and efficiently. Then you check out and go about your day. Five stars!

The moment you walk into Boston Veterinary Clinic, you can see and feel how much they care about animals. I have never seen anything like it! They truly see your pet as a member of your family and treat he/she as such. From the adorable waiting room to each of the staff members taking the time to ask questions about my pet, it was a great experience.

I can't express the level of service, care and attention my pet and I get at Boston Veterinary Clinic. I wish I had started going here sooner, but because I've been to other vets I can confidently say that BVC is the best. Beyond generally being a clean, courteous, well-run vet clinic, they explain what will happen every step of the way through your pet's care, they make sure you're comfortable with the process AND price point before moving forward with any treatment, and they even call later to check on how your pet is doing. I feel so comfortable taking my pup here, he even gets excited and tries to run in when we get there and is not interested in leaving. An additional convenience is the application they use to track vaccinations, medications, appointment reminders, and submit appointment requests.

Dr. Joey and all of the staff were so kind and understanding. They took wonderful care of my pup!

Fabulous and friendly environment! A friend recommended this clinic, and so I took my puppy Huck there for his first appointment. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, and once we were taken back, the vet tech and vet took great care to pay attention to my puppy's needs. They also listened to all my concerns and knowledgeably answered every question with kindness. I'm so pleased that Huck and I have found such a wonderful place to get him the very best care!

I appreciate the efforts this practice takes to provide the calmest experience possible for my cats. Upon arrival, we were immediately shown into an examination room which had soft music, a calming scent pad for cats , a cozy examination pad and calming colors. 30 minute appointments insure the cats and humans aren't rushed. Dr. Randi Dr. Brian, and all the techs have warm personalities and answer questions thoroughly.

I simply love this place. Everyone is so nice and kind. Interior itself is nice too. Also, you can tell that they really care about your pet and really want to help/support you. You can see that they really love animals.

Dr. Brian Bourquin has taken excellent care of my two Persian cats over the past several years. I have always admired the professionalism that Dr. Bourquin and his staff demonstrate and their obvious concern and care for their clientele. Not only does he offer very convenient concierge home visits that I enjoy along with my pets, but he has just opened up a brand new animal clinic conveniently located in Bay Village. I brought my two cats last week for the 1st time to the clinic and was impressed by the new state of the art equipment, treatment rooms and staff. I loved the atmosphere, individualized attention and experience and so did my two boys Oliver and Cicero. I highly recommend Dr. Bourquin and the Boston Veterinary Clinic to anyone with a pet in Boston and surrounding areas. John and Justin Boston

Dr Bourquin has been our Golden Retriever Sam’s vet since we first picked him up from the breeder at 8 weeks. Sam had a number of medical issues early on – Dr Bourquin’s expertise as well as his kind and compassionate demeanor always kept us calm and comfortable knowing we were in very capable hands. Our most recent interaction was when Sam had a Mast Cell Tumor - a very scary diagnosis. Dr Bourquin taught us from the start how to recognize important 'bumps' as they can be dangerous - as this one turned out to be. He helped us navigate the needed surgery and was available to answer our concerns as we made our way through the recovery process. We have no doubt that Dr Bourquin saved Sam's life with his preventative care and education. He is a skilled diagnostician – we completely trust him with our Sam

Great experiences with Boston Veterinary Clinic. They're always very friendly and will take in Otis for any problem. The Vets are very knowledgeable and are terrific with Otis (who's a bit of a scared cat) and have perfected the art of treating a squirming dog while keeping them as comfortable as possible. I'm almost always able to schedule an appointment quickly, and they often offer up earlier appointments when they have availability. Hours are also great, they're open late enough that I don't have to leave work early to bring my dog in.

Reggie has been seeing Brian since he was a pup and he loves the Doc! Boston Vet has grown, for sure! It took me back when the electronic answering was implemented, when we were switched into an online communication approach instead of that brick and mortar old school phone call. We are not "with the times" on purpose lol. Our financial situation was at its worst when we first went to Brian and if anyone pushes the notion that he has changed and that the prices are to pad his pocket do not know him...at all. It IS expensive and let me say this, worth every cent because Dr. B's honesty and integrity as a caring provider is frankly priceless in these times. Thank you Boston Vet Clinic!

Great clinic! Accessible parking, friendly staff and we just love Dr. Henry! If you are looking for a vet in the city of Boston, highly recommend!

I've brought my two girls here since the first day they came home. Our first year was uneventful but professional as my girls went through the kitten phase. After that, the larger sister showed a less than well conceived stream of bravery and leaped between two buildings, missed, and plunged six stories. She made it because I got her to BVC quickly and they stabiliized her so I could transport her to Angell (which is another 5 star but that's for a different review). More recently, they've handled our shots and some less traumatic injuries. Professional, courteous, and considerate while also being educational...I'm not sure what more you could ask from your vet. I see some complaints about price and I think that's silly. I find them to be very reasonable considering they are in the middle of the city. You may have figured out from this review that I am probably overly attached to my cats; the overly-attached-to-his-cats guy goes to this vet. That should tell you all you need to know.

Would leave zero stars if I could. I just moved from NY and needed a new vet for my cat. I made a check up/introduction appointment but unfortunately my cat got pink eye a few weeks before the date. I went to their office early in the day, way before closing time, to see if they could take a quick look and give him eye drops. They refused to see him even though the office seemed empty in the waiting room and they were still hours from closing. They sent me to an emergency clinic which cost double the price for treatment. I don’t think they care about animals at all. All they care about is having a posh looking office.

Ling Beisecker

Super friendly staff and great doctors who explain everything along the way. Our cat has been well taken care of every time we visit. They helped us schedule an emergency appointment when we were nervous about a possible UTI. Our cat is feeling much better and more energetic since our last visit! Thanks Boston Veterinary Clinic!

Boston Veterinary Clinic has been very good to us and our dog. The staff is great. They always seem genuinely excited to see their patients. The love for animals is palatable at Boston Veterinary Clinic! Only once did we have a complaint, the clinic reached out to us immediately and asked us how they could improve. This is really a great clinic for your four legged family member!

Ive been bringing my cat here for the last couple of years since I moved to Boston. The team is absolutely lovely; from the staff at the front desk to the assistants and the doctors. You can truly tell they love animals and treat them in a loving, understanding manner (even when their owner is a bit of a looney hypochondriac). They look at the long term concerns and have been able to tailor each treatment plan to the pet. My cat is always so anxious going to the vet, but they genuinely try to accommodate his temperament each time. They also take their time to discuss every concern and question that I have and have never felt rushed.

David Melnick

Excellent care, service, and knowledge.

Very happy with Boston Veterinary Clinic. The facility is great and the staff are super friendly. Dr. Bourquin is a great clinician. He took the time to explain everything in detail. He even went as far as to give different schools of thought on certain aspects of veterinary medicine.

The Best Vet experience your canine child will ever have. If you want the very best for your animal companions: medical, emotional, respectful and behavioral…. you need Dr B in your pets life. I have a 4 year old Maltese/Lhaso boy and I am not sure who was more stressed with going to the vet, him or I. The moment I would pull up to the vets office he would start shaking uncontrolablly and start to cry. Well until we met Dr. B, I cannot describe the difference. Dr. B genuinely cares and it really shows in his approach to medicine and care for your pet. If you want the best of your 4 legged child you need Dr B! you will not be disappointed.

We have been beyond impressed by Boston Vet Clinic. We are new to the practice and just went for our initial visit with our dog we rescued from a local shelter. I decided on Boston Vet Clinic because of their fear free mentality. Our new (to us) dog was brought in the back and straight to a very comfortable back room, instead of the anxiety provoking waiting room. The vet and the techs were so amazing. They went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. We are still learning about our dog and wanted to make sure he didn't feel stressed, overwhelmed or confined in a vets office and Boston Vet Clinic made sure he felt safe every moment even with ear checks and assessments he wasn't crazy about. I can't thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism, and sincere care for our new and nervous pup. I would recommend them to anyone!
