My daughter and I brought our dog Angel to the hospital because she appeared to be losing weight drastically. She is slowing down, walking into walls and falling down steps. We called the hospital and the took us in within 24 hours. Dr. Felter and her staff was very pleasant and sympathetic to our concerns. They drew blood from Angel and provided us with the results the same day. Dr. Felter provided us with results and gave us our options. She also explained what she would do if Angel was her dog. We are spending quality time with Angel as we will have to put her to sleep. It is very assuring to know that Angel will be in good hands

Great place. I urgently needed an appointment for a stray kitten and the earliest my normal vet could give me was in 3 days time! Westview saw me within 2 hours. Wonderful service, wonderful staff. I will be transferring my other fur babies to Westview too.

The facility is clean and the vets are very straightforward. They are considerate and open to hearing suggestions. When we take our dogs and cats, the vets are good at remembering which fur baby is shy, outgoing, scared. etc. i would definitely recommend this animal hospital to anyone!

I have a 11 year old 5lb Maltese , she was attacked by a pit bull and my long time vet doesn't do emergency visit so a friend referred me to Westview animal Hospital and I was nervous because I wanted the best care for Icy but I didn't know if I could afford it and they were very reasonable and friendly ,warm ,kind ,and professional. they mad us feel like family omg . It was so clean and some awesome. the waiting room wasn't over crowded that got us in and out in a very timely manner. I wish I could give them 10 stars. I will definitely refer them to any and everybody I know and this will be our new home vet

I just got a puppy and began coming here. What a friendly place! Everyone there seems like they are genuinely interested in helping you and your pet. My Presa Canario puppy was never scared and the vet and her assistant did a great job of comforting him. They really didn't even need me in the room with him because they're that great. We have been going to Westview Animal Hospital for over 20 years. We have seen different doctors over this time and have always been happy with the services provided. We are especially impressed with Dr. Susan Felter. She treats our cats as if they were her own and always takes the time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. We never feel "rushed." Westview is not the closest hospital for us and our cats DO NOT like traveling, but we go back there because of the excellent service we have received over the years. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. The doctors and staff are truly caring.

My husband first discovered Westview Animal Hospital many years ago when one of his Honduran milk snakes needed emergency surgery for dystocia. At least at the time, it wasn't easy to find a veterinarian that could handle reptile obstetric emergencies. Fortunately for him and especially for the snake, he found Dr. Felter. Dr. Felter performed life-saving surgery and, thanks to her, Lucky is still alive today. Fast forward several moves and years later, and we've returned to Dr. Felter for the care of our feline and serpent menagerie. One of my elderly cats had developed the energy of a kitten and was losing weight despite an increased appetite, so my husband suggested Dr. Felter. I was nervous to make the first appointment because my tiny grouchy old man cat is... well... extraordinarily anti-vet. A prior vet had refused to see him anymore, and another required us to give him a sedative pill before every appointment. 6 pounds of pure fury. Dr. Felter heard my warning and fearlessly accepted him as a new patient. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which requires frequent vet appointments for checkups and monitoring. His file is marked with the warning about his delightful temperament (which is managed with gas sedation, hallelujah), and the entire staff knows exactly how to handle my beloved little jerk. Dr. Felter is awesome about providing realistic, feasible options and recommendations that consider the animal's entire well-being (not just condition specific). AND she's incredibly cost-conscious, which is something I've never experienced with any other vet. Westview's/Dr. Felter's hours are great. Evening and Saturday appointment options mean that I can actually give my critters the care they deserve. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and accommodating. I've been to many different area vets in my life, and there is really no comparison. Westview über alles!

I must admit, over the past 45 years, I have been around the block with Vets, however that search ended once I found Westview Animal Hospital! Period!! The staff, and particularly Dr. Cohen far exceed anything I could have asked for in the care of our animals (presently 5 human felines). Both staff and Dr. Cohen are exceptional in their professionalism, care of both myself and my babies, and take all the time necessary to explain any and everything to me. If it were humanly possible, I would transfer all of my personal medical records to Dr. Cohen and have all of my personal medical issues handled by him, at the Westview Animal Hospital. The staff ARE THAT GOOD, although the office declined my offer to transfer myself into their hands. Sad, but true! I would never, ever entertain going anywhere else and I only pray that they stay in business, where they are FOREVER! Wanted the discount for teeth cleaning. They would not honor it. (I wanted to delete this review but decided against it in case someone already read this.) I received a call from them after they read the review. I was surprised they even paid attention to it. We worked something out with one of my cats. The other 12 year old cat has thyroid issues so we decided not to clean her teeth at this time. Dr. Cohen took the time to call and look into both cats. If I could give 10 stars I would. I have been going to them for quite a few years. I will stick with them!!

I called this place today for a client of mine(i am a dog trainer and animal behaviorist) to ask them for an urgent appt as her 8 lbs shih tzu was shaking all over his body and crying in pain. They told her pretty much too bad bc they only had a late appt to offer. And me calling with assessment of the dog helped none either. "Just go to the ER we are booked". Arent all vets booked? I have never in my life had the displeasure of an existing patient being not given a priority for a seriously ill animal when a shot appt can run late in lew. I know myself and many many animal lovers who would for the health of another animal. Im glad i had this displeasure so i can tell my entire client base to beware, unless of course u need a scheduled vaccine or spay or perhaps a dental u schedule but never need them in a true emergency bc these people WILL NOT be there for you. Disgraceful outfit.

Great staff but check your meds and supplements. 2 months in a row they sold me supplements for a small dog and I have an 80+lb lab. When I brought it to their attention the Vet never so much as called to apologize. No accountability. I now get the same supplement on Amazon for HALF the price. **Update! Just recieved a call from tbe owner apologizing for this. He really stepped up and I'm convinced this is an isolated occurrence.

And if it's something that's beyond there expertise, they refer you to some of the best vet specialist we have in Maryland. This hospital has some excellent veterinarian doctor's by far and they are very friendly and make u feel like family. Dr. Cohen was very nice and shared a lot of information with me concerning possible treatments for Zoie. He also made a follow-up call to me this morning to see if she was feeling any better and confirm the course of action we would be taking to figure out Zoie's medical problems. Excellent hospital, always helpful, service is incomparable, yet, they have a lot of fees for visits and check ups as well as returning patience, they don't have any acceptance to returning patience such as discounts or anything, which really bothered me when me dog was diagnosed with pymetra i believe this is the way it's spelled. yet, Dr. Cohen is great, but also he wanted to charge me for x-rays before he even did them, and medications that worked partially, but her infection came back. Westview Animal Hospital is an exceptional Veterinary experience. We fully trust Westview to care for our 3 cats. We couldn't imagine going anywhere else for our vet needs. The waiting room at Westview is remarkably clean and spacious with plenty of seating and room for dogs and cats alike. We especially love the little added touch with the welcome sign listing all patients (pet names). of the day I really appreciate that whenever I call for an appointment the phone is answered promptly and the receptionist is always polite and friendly. We never have a difficult time getting an appointment and that is especially important to me considering we have had a few concerns where we have wanted to get one of our cats in right away for an appointment. Once in the exam room the staff always handles our temperamental cats so well. They have a genuine care for animals and it shows through their work. Our cats actually behave very well in the hands of the techs. The doctors also do the same. Dr. Cohen walks us through the exam and makes sure we understand what he is explaining throughout the process. Dr. Cohen has also given us options in the past when suggesting treatments for some of our cats. We appreciate this for budget purposes. We never feel as if we are being pressured into a specific treatment plan for the financial gain of the animal hospital. At one point my husband and I needed to decide on whether or not we wanted to proceed with surgery on our eldest cat. It was a tough decision and Dr. Cohen was available to answer our phone calls and schedule one more follow up appointment before the decision was made. It put us at ease knowing we were not being pressured to make a decision and Dr. Cohen took his time to provide the most information possible to assist us. I highly recommend using Westview Animal Hospital for your pet care needs. You will not be disappointment!

Everyone from the vet technicians to the doctors are service oriented and friendly. They always handle my pups with care. What I like most is that the Vets do not push a service or a product. They always work with patients to make sure their pets are healthy and happy! I first took my 13 yr old pup for a dental cleaning and they couldn't be more communicative, always kept me on the loop. I also took my 5 year old pup for an annual exam and booster shots. My dogs were never stressed as the vet technicians always handle my pups with care. You definitely notice their passion for what they do is genuine and not just business.

I had an animal who needed emergency care immediately. I took him up there to get treated and they did a half ass job. The next day I had to take my animal to Falls Road ER which provided me with better assistance and now my animal is better and healthy. Smh because of Westview's lack of compassion for animals and greed I'm now stuck with a bill that they won't stop harassing me with. I will never go back to this place again...they are all about taking your money instead of working with you and your sick animal! Stop harassing me Diane! You do not deserve a dime of my money because you failed to treat my animal properly!

This was beyond terrible. I came in with my baby girl,she was having seizures. Now first off no matter what doctor you are you are supposed to give a damn about the people who come in. You don't have to be the most comforting thing there, but at least show some compassion. Yes I can say I'm glad they immediately took her to the back to help her. But they first off would have let her die without treatment because I didn't have my card on me to pay first hand. I mean yes withhold my dog from me then. I'll pay! Don't let her lose her life over money, she is a living being! What kind of vet- no not even vet, human, would let a puppy? A innocent little puppy suffer? But to continue I was in a panic and this was unexpected. So I had someone go get my wallet and they ran a blood test which took about five minutes and came back with nothing. She died before I got my card, and I bet she died alone. This happened in about thirty minutes. Then I had to pay for this blank test and her initial review which was like 341 dollars. I'm going through financial troubles, and I'm paying for a useless test and a review that did nothing! They basically came in time to reap the rewards of her dying in their care. I would have at least spent her last moments with her brother and the family so she would have died with the family at least showing her love. She would have passed safe in the warm comfort of her family, instead of on a cold metal table alone. Then they took her body, because they didn't know how she died they had to check for rabies. Because of this I'm not even getting her back, and now she's gonna get cremated. I bet if I want her ashes back I'll have to pay some outrageous amount for that too. They looked at us like we were just some poor ghetto family, and treated us as such. Come here if you want, but just know your pet is just an object that they get money off of.

I know she loves my dog like her own child which I respect and love about her. Westview Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to take your pets! I first started going there in 1994 with my first dog when I adopted her as a puppy and they cared for her through many ups and downs. She had a bad habit of eating trash and miscellaneous items (no matter what i did to try and stop her) and had a few emergencies surgeries that were really scary but Dr. Cohen not only saved her life multiple times but treated her like his own. When it came time to put her down at age 15 they couldn't have been more compassionate. I adopted a cat in 2000 who I also take to Westview, she now has kidney disease and thyroid disease in her older age and Dr. Felter has been caring for her and couldn't be more wonderful. She's always available when I have questions, she calls to check on her when she's not doing well, helps me work out the best treatment options for my budget (it's not all about money here!) And makes sure I understand what is happening and what she is doing during the visits. Plus the staff here have always been incredibly nice and when I call I always get through and have never had trouble getting an appointment that works for me. I highly recommend Westview Animal Hospital for your pets. Everyone there is a pet lover and its obvious and they will take the best care of your pets possible.

I have gone to Westview Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Each and everyone of the staff are so caring and nice. We see all of the Doctors and each one of them are wonderful, we love them all! We recently had 2 emergencies and were able to be seen the same day. The Doctors take the time to explain everything to you, will call to see how our cats are doing and have even emailed information to us. I would not dream of going anywhere else!

I was refered here by trusted extended family who have been going here for years. Every time I went it was one bad experience after the other. The vet techs were very forceful holding down my senior mellow cat and had blank expressions the whole time. They even shook the cat carrier upside down for my scared cat to come out. I originally came in because my cat had mucus like blood in his stool so I naturally brought in a stool sample. The vet did several tests ruling out that my cat had nothing wrong with him. Mucus like blood in your stool is not nothing! If anyone had blood in their stool it would cause alarm. Needless to say I took my cat to Glen Burnie Animal Hospital which I was referred to by a co-worker even though it was a bit out of the way. My cat was diagnosed with Intestinal Bowel Disease and put on a steroid which immediately stopped his bloody stool. Glen Burnie Animal Hospital is amazing and treat you and your pets like family. My father in law still takes my spouses dog to westview and ever since she's been diagnosed with crazy things and put on several medications which cannot be good mixing all these medications from seizure medications to steroids. I keep telling him to get a second opinion but he's dumped so much money at westview a second opinion looks like a money pit I'm sure.
