I felt welcome and my dog had the best care in this place although brief. They are close to my home and that is a big plus. They are a bit pricey, but in my opinion worth it. The vet is gentle and loving with the pet and offered us compassion in grieving times. Highly recommend them. On top of that the place is always very clean and the rest of the staff is friendly.

Took my boyfriends dog, who needed immediate care for a bad cheek abscess, to PG Animal Hospital. They were available to see me right away while I was unable to get him an appointment anywhere else in the area. I should have taken that as a red flag and not relief that my dog could get treated right away. Once I was called back the vet tech immediately tried to muzzle him. I asked why she would place a large leather muzzle over a dogs snout with that kind of injury. She kept insisting and tried to put the muzzle on while he yelped in pain and tried to move his face away. Not once did he show signs of aggression, he was in pain and had been lethargic all morning. Once the doctor came in he was pushing for him to be muzzled as well, again I questioned why they would do that to a dog whose injury is on his face. Their excuse was so they could get a better look at the injury...which would have been covered by the muzzle straps. Finally, I agreed to let them sedate my dog. They had him laying on an exam table, the vet tech refused to touch him because his mouth wasn't restrained. I ended up having to hold him from the front, mind you the fluid was not only in his cheek it had also made its way to his neck. The doctor was holding the one leg that he was administering the sedative with and the second he injected it, my dog jolted forward and fell 2.5 feet on his back to the hard tile floor. I was horrified and immediately hysterical. He was given half a dose and his legs started giving out while I was holding him and he ended up needing to lay in my lap. I questioned the doctor several times why he needed to administer the sedative on an exam table and not the ground! Since he's "been doing this for 40 years" you'd think he was aware of how animals can react to pressure being injected into their leg. After screaming at the doctor wanting to get an answer why he would insist on muzzling an animal with a facial abscess, another doctor came in to try to calm me down. He was much more pleasant and understanding of the situation, where Dr Khianey was cold and baffled why I was so upset and angry. I allowed the other doctor to administer a sedative reversal so I was able to immediately take him to Dogs and Cats in Bowie. I fully understand the staff wanting to protect themselves however with the location and extent of his injuries anyone with common sense would never insist on a muzzle. If our dog was aggressive I would have immediately notified the staff. He was sick, lethargic and just wanted relief of his symptoms. Dogs and Cats took amazing care of him and never once asked him to be muzzled or restrained in anyway in ordered to be triaged. In fact, once the doctor came out with a treatment plan, she expressed how good he had been in the kennel and how sweet he was waiting to be examined. My dog is a staffordshire terrier mix, had he have been a lab or golden retriever I guarantee he would not have been muzzled or forced to be sedated to be examined. I have another pitbull, who is larger and looks like he could be mean, and have never experienced him immediately requiring a muzzle to be seen for an exam. I was debating posting this review until I received a card from them in the mail. I was expecting a note from the doctor or some sort of an apology for the experience however it was a generic card welcoming us to their practice. Needless to say we will not be back nor recommend this vet to anyone looking for one in the area.

I came here just based on a quick web search. My usual veterinarian was out of town and I needed to have something time-sensitive checked on a stray kitten I've been taking care of. I adored both the staff and the doctor that saw me. They were very sweet, accommodating and just all around wonderful to work with. I'll definitely consider using them again.

We've been taking our cats here for the past year and couldn't be happier. They are careful, competent, and very reasonably priced. We brought our first cat here as a terrified shelter rescue, and they worked hard to make sure he was comfortable and had the care that he needed. Making an appointment is easy, as they are open on Saturdays, and they are very quick to respond to e-mails. Honestly, I can't think of a way for them to improve their service and look forward to bringing our cats here again, even though we are moving farther into the city.

From someone who has gone to the same veterinarian for 20 years and finally switches due to relocation, I am beyond pleased! Dr. Rahul Khianey and the staff was EXTREMELY polite to my newly adopted dog. She had a good amount of medical issues from the shelter but he explained each one in depth with a compassionate manner. Each follow up visit was just as amazing as the first. I can say that I am happy to call this hospital my new veterinarian!

LOVE THIS PLACE! Awesome doctors, awesome staff, awesome service. Knowledgeable, caring, organized. 5 stars all the way! This hospital has taken care of my dog since I got him seven years ago. I think my dog is more active and healthy now than he was when I got him. One thing I love about Dr. K and his staff is that they emphasize the importance of accountability. They know they are great at what they do, but you as a pet owner have to do the little things right in between visits. It's not just about emergency care, but it's also about preventive care. If you have a pet, bring your pet here for care. You will NOT regret it.

I don’t know how they have 4,8 stars. This place’s prices are almost same with human hospital. They want $300 for a surgery which is $85 in a different place to which I just drove 20 minutes more. If you dont care about money, then just go ahead

I initially was a little taken aback when Simon's (my cat) regular vet did not complete the Sr wellness exam, but I was able to adjust and my experience was very informative and pleasant. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars was the cost of services. If I lived with limited financial resources, I would not have ben able to get the labs done necessary to determine that Simon is in the early stages of kidney disease. My cat's health is important to me, however, the rising costs of pet care make continued vet visits limited. Vet cost may be passed onto the consumer, and not directly a result of a vet raising their fees. However, I think vets, in my opinion, need to be sensitive to the costs that owners invest in keeping their pets healthy.

I had my first experience with the PG Animal Hospital yesterday and it couldn't have gone better. We have an old-man cat (16+ years old!) who has a bit of an eye infection. He REALLY hates going to the vet and I didn't want to have to wait a long time for an appointment. I called these folks and they got me an appointment just two hours after I called and were also very friendly and understanding on the phone. The location is also amazingly convient with ample free parking. And coming from DC is super easy -- less than fifteen minutes and just off the BW Parkway. For DC folks It is so much easier to get to than the animal hospitals in DC and VA. The front desk staff were also friendly and understanding and the wait was brief even on a Saturday afternoon. It was also clear that the staff there get along and enjoy who they work with and what they do -- great atmosphere! Check them out! Check them out! You'll be happy you did and so will your animal friend!

We were referred to PG Animal Hospital by a friend for my 8 week old Yorkie and it's been over a year. They have take care of Gizmo like he's their own, ask if you have any concerns, as well as provide quality care, even the front office is great. I wouldn't trust any other place with my dog given the personable way they treat him and all their patients.

David and I (Vicki Cobb) have used this place since we got Cole 4 years ago. Now we have Gracie, making a total of 2 Scottie’s. Dr K has ALWAYS been gracious, good with our animals, knowledge, and affordable. Now, Dr K.Jr . Is here! We saw him for the first time 2 days ago! Wow! Super thorough . Shared a lot of educational info, and both dogs loved him. Carmen, their assistant.....I cannot say enough about. She’s quiet yet loving. Since Cole was a baby, she’s held him for the doctors, whispering soft Spanish (and English ) in his big ears. He LOVES her!!! Now, Gracie has fallen in love. The place is ALWAYS super clean and now it’s gotten a new modern look! I wouldn’t advise anyone going anywhere else for pet care!

I adopted two kittens and had a voucher for a free physical for my new pets. They were so nice and friendly at this location. One of the kittens needed to get another shot and they offered to do it or let me bring him back to the shelter's clinic with no pressure. The vet was very nice and knowledgeable. Mine was the first appointment of the day at 8am and I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Not bad at all.

Good advice but very expensive! Brought kitty in for diagnosis, which was very helpful. Dr. Narendar recommended surgery, but I demurred for the time being. (Cat recovered just fine without the extremely expensive and dangerous surgery, thankfully.) Cost of two simple blood tests were exorbitant, quite a mark-up! I had to pay $420 for just the diagnosis, two antibiotics, and the blood tests. No multi-pet discounts available here either. Front desk clerk very somber and unfriendly; never smiled once in either visit during waits totaling 30 minutes. Other techs were more friendly. Doctor has a good bedside manner! UPDATE: Brought kitty in for shots, again quite costly. I asked for cost of having teeth cleaned, received quote for $810 !!!! I went home and bought a cat toothbrush and cat toothpaste instead for $25. All fine. Where are they getting these exorbitant prices???

This is (now was) my Cat's main Vet. I love the receptionist and the people. My cat does not like people but they always knew how to get things done WITHOUT FORCE. I do not know what happened on her last visit but she only went for a nail clipping. When she returned, she was totally drugged out her mind, I just thought she needed it because she can be a handful. I have had pets sedated before, but my cat was out for about SEVEN HOURS!!!! Also she had a ton of iodine on her neck.... I don't know about medicine so I left it alone. The next day her paws were a light colored purple. I was worried, but again I don't know about medicine so I thought it could be iodine mixed with Quik-Stop (to stop bleeding on pets when nails are cut too short - another thing a vet shouldn't do, but if you wait too long it is possible). So again I left it alone. Day 3, paws were deeper purple and when sitting kept one paw up! I finally realized animal cruelty was in play! THERE IS NO REASON WHY AND AFTER BEING SEDATED A CAT SHOULD HAVE SUCH A BRUISE! DAY 4 BOTH FRONT PAWS A PURPLE-ISH BLACK!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I AM SICKENED TO MY STOMACH AND I CAN'T BELIEVED THIS HAPPENED! If you go here pay attention to what goes on! I am quite mad at my husband as well for not being in there with her, but THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

This was my first time visiting an animal hospital for my own fur baby. I came home one day and my Pomchi (Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix) had a swollen face. Turns out, it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite. But prior to that day, I always went to Banfield with my dogs. The receptionist was so friendly and the animal hospital smelled amazing, which was first for me as they usually smell of bleach and animals. But the Vet was very attentive to my concerns and worked with me. This will be my new go to! Plus they are conveniently located a few minutes from home!

We have two dogs that Dr. Khianey & his son have taken care of since the day we brought them home over 2 years ago. Both doctors are gentle, while examining our pups from head to toe. A few days ago our Parker, (shichon) got all his yearly booster shots & never made a sound or showed any sign of pain. Any time we ask a question they answer thoroughly and/or send an email with links to further explain. Another thing we like is that they call the next day to ask if all is well.

I wish I could rate this 100 stars plus! This place is amazing, best vet ever! The staff here is very kind and loving to our babies! They saved my 6 week old puppy that had pravo and I will forever thank them! They make sure that they are comfortable with them and are as gentle as possible! Prices are very reasonable, quick to get appointments and their online app helps you know what your puppy needs! Rocky and Titan both love it here! Prince Georges Animal Hospital is the most incredible place, with the best staff and Dr. K is absolutely amazing. The entire staff makes you feel so welcome and comfortable, my experience was taking the family cat who was very ill, Dr. K. made a suggestion to take her home and let her spend her remaining days with our family. When she passed I was a total wreck and immediately called the clinic he heard how upset I was and called me right back he told me to bring her in the next morning and he would take care of her for our family and knowing that the hospital family was there for us made our loss easier to bear. I refer everyone I know who has a family member (pet) to take their beloved pets to Dr. K and know that they will receive so much love and expert medical care that they will never want to go any where else... I took my dog to the doctor as an emergency because my doctor was not available until Tuesday. Things happens for a reason. I loved the welcoming environment, and the options given to me to treat my dog's ear infection. My current vet is far from my house but also very good, and when I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the office had patients and everyone was being greeted with courtesy. The staff had connections with each dog, which for me, was a great indication of people that care for the well-being of the animals. I am definitely recommending them and switching to them in Hyattsville!

The veterinarian and the veterinarian assistant were were friendly towards me and my dog Dallas. They were gentle with her, especially when the doctor drew her blood. They asked relevant questions and provided useful suggestions to ensure that Dallas enjoys a happy and healthy life. Additionally, the doctor demonstrated how to brush her teeth.

My parents went to Dr. Khianey starting in the 90's and I still go today with my pets. His bedside manner is excellent, including the treatment of both the pets and us owners! My family has had (as best as I can remember) 7 cats and 4 dogs in the past 30 years- we continue to trust Prince George's Animal Hospital for the care of each. I actually drive from Towson, MD to see them because I trust them that much. I cannot say enough good things about Prince George's Animal Hospital and the amount of care we've received here.

Dr. Khianney and his team always make us feel that we're doing the best for our black lab and our kitty cat. Our dog gets so excited when we board her there, that I suspect he takes her home and lets her sleep at the foot of his bed, while feeding her filet mignon. Well, maybe not - but I know they are in good hands with Prince George's Animal Hospital.
