This is the best Vet facility I have ever take Tiger to! The staff is MAGNIFICENT!! He usually sees Dr. Melinda Everhart, who I have known for a couple years. She, all the techs, receptionists and anyone caring for furry patients are knowledgeable, kind and extremely sweet to Tiger when he comes in. They let me cry when I need to and they don't ever make me feel bad because I'm concerned about my Tiger! I still have not figured how they are able to clip his toenails quickly and without scars! The absolute BEST vet EVER!

I brought my lovely Sebastian to them when he was sick. They kindly told me he wasn't well and most likely would not get better. Having them by my side during this process was helpful. Whenever I called, they were so responsive and kind. Even though he passed at home. They sent me a sweet card from their office and called to check in on me. It brought tears to my eyes knowing that they took the time to write sweet words for me about him. I guess he was that type of cat to touch people pretty quickly. They gave me price estimates before performing diagnostics and were very patient with all my questions and concerns. I am surprised how bad the service was. I have a dog that is old and has many health concerns. I was referred to Parkville based on my discontentment with a prior veterinary clinic at their misrepresentation of fees for service. My dog needs medical attention but I just don't have hundreds of dollars to spend. I need a vet that will help me make the best choices for our situation. When I called to schedule our appointment I was explicit about my dog's condition and my financial limitations. I was quoted a price for the visit and stressed my concern that the visit would cost more than quoted. I was reassured of the cost. I have an infant son and a dog that does not walk well anymore. We all made the difficult trek into the office, only to be told that the cost of the visit would be DOUBLE what I was told..... I was surprised and then asked to be seen at the price quoted me knowing that I was likely to be spending more money on treatments needed. I had hoped to be counseled compassionately on what would be best. Instead the doctor said he would give a rabies shot for the quoted price but would NOT discuss his other health concerns! I understand there are fees for this or that but I am just sickened by the lack of compassion or respect for my time and trouble and emotional concern for my pet. They didn't simply miss-quote the cost I had been VERY SPECIFIC on the phone. So we left. We will not be trusting our pet's care to these insincere "animal lovers".

I found Dr. Mangini and his staff after several bad experiences at another veterinary clinic in Baltimore. My dog had been steadily losing weight with no explanation, despite several vet visits and expensive diagnostics. Dr. Mangini was able to diagnose her almost immediately by running a few essential tests. Because of my experience at the other hospital, I went in as a skeptic, questioning nearly everything Dr. Mangini recommended. Now, though, I trust him implicitly with my pets. Parkville AH is a no-frills kind of place, but they have all of the tools needed to care for their patients. They've also saved me money by running tests in-house (including an echocardiogram) that usually require a visit to a specialist. Dr. Mangini and his staff are friendly, knowledegable, and compassionate.

I’ve used Parkville Animal Hospital for over 20 years. We recently learned that we would be moving to Texas for work. We were very nervous about our 3 cats. What should we do with them on the days the packers and movers were in the house? How would they tolerate the 21 hour drive? How would we acclimate them to their new home? The doctors and staff answered those questions and many more. A few of the staff even stayed a few minutes late, on moving day when things ran behind schedule, so we could pick up the cats and get on the road. It is obvious that everyone there has a genuine love of animals (and people too). Several of the staff members have worked there as long as I can remember. It’s a family business run by kind, caring, wonderful people. I highly recommend PAH.

I will start but saying that I am very selective about vets, I have been to several in the area that I did not care for. I am SO glad that I found this practice. My dog had an ear infection but needed some routine testing as well. From the minute we walked in the staff was nothing but friendly. They did not try to push products or services on me as many other offices do. They respected my wishes regarding my pets which means a lot to me. Other positives are that they have a great selection of appointment times, prices are competitive, and they are happy to give you a quote before you agree to any services. My first positive vet experience in a long time and I look forward to continuing to use this office for years to come.

My dog stayed there over a month ago and is still sick. She has stayed with other boarders and never had a problem. She went in completely healthy. Also they claimed they fed her everyday; however some how my 14 year old dog lost 10 lbs. She has always struggled to lose weight and all of a sudden as a senior loses 10 lbs while staying there. Not to mention they expected me and my family to pay for medication when she got sick there. Never send any animal there, they are rude people who need to be shut down.

I transported him in because she was a new mother and couldn't leave the babies. The staff was so supportive in their efforts to treat him, it felt as if they had always known him (and me). I have taken both my cat and dog here for medical services and my dog for boarding. The staff are helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I love the fact that the veterinarian talks with you honestly and openly about what services your animal would best benefit from and he does not run tests or do procedures without talking to you about it first. He answered all of my questions and was empathetic when I was upset about a particular problem with my cat. While the office could use some updating, I could care less about the environment (it's still very clean) when the staff are so great!! This vet does not pull any punches and tries to SAVE you money! He spoke to me about all options, trying the least costly (but still very appropriate) options first! I highly recommend this animal hospital and we continue to receive services at this location.

Have been taking my dog to this office for over a year. Everytime I go they are very nice, helpful, and answer all of my questions. It is easy to schedule appointments, they have a very flexible schedule, and I feel comfortable calling anytime if in need of help. Recently, my dog was bitten by another dog. This office made time in their day to see him, treat him, and make sure that he would be okay. When I called with my follow up questions about his care they were still just as prompt and helpful. My dog has healed up nicely and is back to his playful self. The entire staff was wonderful and understanding throughout the stressful incident. I couldn't imagine taking my dog anywhere else for care.

I have a very sickly cat, but they always figure out what's up every time something new goes wrong with him. They do great sleuthing work and my boy is healthy and strong because of their expertise. But ask how much it's going to cost you before they do literally anything, or else they might do $1,000 worth of testing and whatnot without telling you, and surprise you with a massive bill at the end.

Everyone here is super friendly, knowledgeable and really make my two babies feel right at home! Jen is awesome and my two Shiba's are always super happy to see her (especially Rukia). It's really hard to find not only a vet hospital who cares about your babies but a place that your babies will love to! I was so worried about my one Shiba, Kenzo, as it takes him so long to get use to a place and in some cases he never does. However, here he let's them pick him up, give him shots and even touch his feet! At my last vet they had to sedate him because he would growl when they touched his feet. So my little ones can really sense that all of the staff at Parkville Animal Hospital are GENUINELY good people and after being with them for close to a year I really love the staff and the overall atmosphere I see here! I never see or hear an unhappy customer (humans and pets) and that let's me know that they care about everyone! The prices are great (I'm comparing to both a high priced vet I use to go to and the Baltimore Humane Society that I use to go to) and I really enjoy how to set an appointment! I am on the go and always at work so it is very easy and convenient for me to be able to go online and select a date and time that (they allow you 1st and 2nd preference choices). Then within less than 10-12 hours I get an email from Jen either confirming or advising a new date for my appointment. I then confirm the appointment in the email and that's it! I really, really appreciate that convenience for those always on the go and their hours are phenomenal. It's really hard to find someone who stays open as late as them and are open on Saturday. Highly recommend this vet to anyone who asks me!

Parkville Animal Hospital saved the day on two separate occasions. The first time was when I picked up my dog from boarding ...and he came home with a very severe ear infection. I called Parkville and was able to be scheduled for a same day appointment. Super convenient and friendly. My dog is very vocal about not liking the vet, but Dr. Jess was able to do an exam and treat his ears without holding him down or using a muzzle. The same dog required surgery for an infected cyst. My regular vet knew about the infection but said I had to wait three days for the surgical vet. I called Parkville and once again they were able to see my dog the same day. Dr. Jess looked at the infected cyst and said "Yup, that needs to come off. He'll be fine come back in an hour." When I came back he was all done and patched up. They called me twice to check on him and removed his staples, free of charge. Seriously mind blown by how awesome they are.

I have been taking my pets here for a very long time. I used to see the woman (Dr. James) who was very caring, gentle, honest, and agreeable. I don;t know if she sold the practice to the man (Dr. Mangini), but no one ever explained this to me. I just came in one day to find no Dr. James, and a man who never even introduced himself. Now moving onto service: I feel like this new vet is always trying to sell me prescription food no matter what problems my pets are having. I brought my cat there for scaly flaking skin, and the doctor looked at the cat, and did not even do a skin biopsy or anything. He simply told me that my cat was allergic to something in the food, and instructed me to buy the extremely expensive $50-a-bag food (for a small bag!). He instructed me to do the exact same thing for my dog several months earlier when he had diarrhea, and my dog is huge, so I would have been spending $200 a week on food from them if I would have listened to him and stayed there. I did not buy the food because I could not afford to spend $400 for 2 weeks of dog food. Luckily the diarrhea cleared up on its own without the expensive food, and seemed to be a temporary illness, and he has been fine on his normal diet. So after seeing another vet to get a second opinion on my cat who never got better despite the expensive food purchases, we learned he had ringworm right away! The doctor knew it immediately from the way the skin looked, and gave use a shampoo and medicine that took care of the problem. All in all, I feel like Parkville animal hospital does not care about pets, but only cares about pushing expensive products. I also feel that if you are on a budget like most people, the vet there will make you feel guilty and argue with you and talk down to you if you don't readily take their expensive foods. I'd love to hear more people add comments if they have tried to sell you the food there, because both my parents and my neighbor go there, and they were all told to get the special expensive food (there seems to be a special food for everything).

All of my pets have been patients of Parkville Animal Hospital for years! Dr. Mangini and Dr. Everhard are both excellent Veterinarians. They have cared for my pets from routine check ups to urgent care and some surgeries too. It's always easy to schedule an appointment and when it's urgent they see you right away. The staff have always been professional and friendly. I prefer a smaller practice to a large one or to chain stores that offer Vet services because it's more personal, they actually know your name when you call or come in for an appointment.

Before scheduling any surgeries, ask your surgeon if they've ever lost a patient during the process. Our dog died here while getting her teeth cleaned. Maybe it was truly her time, or maybe it was an accident and something was missed. Either way, the whole situation has not sat well with me. The vet (whose name escapes me) couldn't answer all of our questions. He handed us her cardiology report and couldn't explain the graphs. He repeatedly referred to her as a boy, so as we're sobbing and trying to take in this information we had to interrupt him at least a couple of times to remind him our dog that died under his care was a girl. A couple of weeks after she died, they sent us one of those rainbow bridge cards that was completely impersonal and honestly rude. She died in front of them, under their care. And they sent a general card with "Sorry for your loss!" on it? It just further hurt us to see that. Her name wasn't even on the card. No indication that it affected them in any way. That card might as well have been in a pile that was pre-signed and some robot decided to send it once some notification went off. I would have preferred they not send that card because it pissed us off so much. It's been months now and we're still upset about this. Aside from that horrific experience, the place isn't very comfortable. The lighting is terrible, the rooms don't have walls that go all the way up to the ceiling, so while we were seeing her one last time people in the other rooms could hear us crying. Our pets hated going in, and they don't do much to comfort them. Further, they put you on an email list and email you almost daily with offers like "20% OFF ALL MEDICATIONS TODAY ONLY" - like, what, I'm going to schedule an appointment and hopefully my dog will need medications but at least it'll be discounted? It got very annoying. I'm pretty sure I had to unsubscribe from those stupid emails twice. We changed vets since our dog died under their care, and the difference is amazing. Our new vet's office is more comfortable, the vets know us and don't incorrectly identify our pets' genders. We only went here because we lived close and it was convenient and we could usually get an appointment quickly. But I am happy to never come back. I have to pass this place on my way to and from work every day and see their PET DENTAL sign plastered out front, wondering what my dog's final hours were like, wondering what happened, if any other dogs will die, and if I can ever feel good about putting any animal under anesthesia ever again. I don't mean to bring down their business rating or anything, but my personal experience with this vet has hurt me and my family so much.
