They are very compassionate and are willing to help - even over the phone! I spoke with Kim one day when I was REALLY worried about my fur baby after a procedure. The staff here are amazing. We've been to other vets and had some issues, for example at a different vet when they were giving our puppy a vaccine the doctor was doing it by himself without help which resulted in my pup getting away from him when the needle went in and then having the needle stuck in our pup's neck while running away, crying the worst I've ever heard him and resulting in complications which lead us to the emergency room. Here at Northwind they always have had two people with our pup for injections and my pup has yet to cry from any of them. You can tell they actually care at Northwind also and it's not just about making money and marketing themselves or selling you something you don't need. Our pup is our first and whenever we were nervous about anything they were always willing to talk to us and see our pup when anything happened. We feel so blessed we found them.

Dr. Russ is the Best, A couple of his older lady staff members are very rude. My first experience was horrible, for being 10 minutes late when I thought I was on time. I was treated terrible. If my baby girl wasn't so sick I would have walked out. She has now passed away. Again Dr. Russ was wonderful. I have another one who is very sick and she needs a dental so I wanted to get in to get blood work started and she has an infection and Ms T said she can't give me an apt until 5-20-15. Unless I want to see someone else. I got an apt for her today at Falls rd animal hospital...

I absolutely love this place! I've been to several different Vets for my two dogs but this one by far is my favorite. I hate going into a Vet office when the staff is scared of my dog ( A Pitbull that shows zero aggression) I've had treats thrown at my dog instead of giving it to him properly because the staff feared my dog. Northwind Animal Hospital Prices are even cheaper than the others! I never feel like I've been ripped off when I leave. The Doctor kissed my dog during the first visit and made us both feel good about being there.

Northwind is the best place I have ever taken my animals too! My cat has CH and the vets are very knowledgeable about the disorder which is wonderful. The prices are reasonable and I have been late due to traffic before, they still see my animals with a smile! The staff is always very patient and kind. The place itself is very clean as well. My only wish is they had a vet that saw reptiles because it's hard to find a vet as good as their's to see my russian tortoise! Still 5 stars!

Very terrible experience there. My dog Rufus was suffering with a really bad persistent cough and it we effecting his breathing. I had already scheduled for his shots he needed so when I went for the appt. When th technician asked if there was anything else I then told her about the persistent cough. She then very rudely said Well you didn't have an appt For that so a doctor can't look at him as your appt. Is only for the shots. I said well I know but is there any way the vet can just take a look today because Rufus is suffering. And at least needs to be taken a look at it would only take mauve 20 mins. She said I'll ask the doctor. She then exited the room an. Didn't come back for 15 mins. When she came back in the room she said...the doctor said you can wait if you want but it could be 2 or more hours before she could see Rufus but she can't promise. I then said well I'm willing to leave now and come back later just call me and I'll be here whenever the doc is available. She then again again I'll go tell the doc what you request and then left the room and didn't come back for 20 mins. Then she came back and said...i talked to the doc and she said she has to leave at 12 noon and can't see Rufus at all today at which time I got upset and said goodbye! This vet does not care about the animals, sadly like so many others these days they only care about the almighty $ ! Please if you want vet who truly cares about your pet...Do Not take them to Northwind, as they really don't care!

The first time I went there I waited 30 minutes for my appointment but gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second time I waited 45 minutes and then left without being seen. They also don't have a separate waiting area for cats, so both times I sat with a terrified cat in a crate surrounded by 4-6 barking dogs. Had two bad experiences so I will not be back.

Let me just say, everyone is nice there and the facility is fine. I took my dog in for a dental cleaning, and after spending $250, no doctor was there to answer my questions post-cleaning. The nice lady at the desk tried her best to answer them herself without the medical knowledge. However, if I'm spending all that money, I want to be able to consult with a doctor about my dog's health. Jusss saaayiiin' yo.

I'd give these guys 10 stars if I could. I brought them a 15 year old cat who was wasting away that 2 others vets couldn't diagnose. They worked really hard to figure out what was wrong in just a few visits and at a very reasonable price. They found a medication that costs. $10 a month and has been very effective for him. A year later he has gained weight and is happy and healthy!I drive 45 minutes from the city to get to Northwind but I wouldn't consider another vet. Their prices are also lower than any vet I've been too, and they don't overtreat your pet. They worked very hard to help my cat, and they gave more time with my best little friend. They are AWESOME!!

Recommended by our neighbor when we first moved to Parkville and got a puppy. Our dog has been diagnosed with Addison's disease and the vets have been helpful in managing her chronic disease. Had a few miscommunications about appointments but everyone is nice and you can tell everyone just wants the best for all the animals. We are there pretty much once a month for blood work and injections and prescription steroids/ allergy pills and we are paying ALOT without any insurance but worth it for our pup!

Northwind is absolutely fantastic. The entire team is genuinely concerned for your pet. Dr. Russ sets the bar for veternary bedside manor. Over the years, we have been through routine checkup, through cancer, and on to more mast removals. Moby (our dog) is now 13 1/2, and the Northwind team have taken care of him like no other. Dr. Russ is caring, passionate, but also pragmatic -- and that's invaluable to us. Their prices are very reasonable, but more importantly, I've never found better value and care anywhere. Just a fantastic practice. A coworker referred me to NAH about 10 years ago, and I tell everyone I know about them in return. We live 40+ miles from the office, but we happily make the trip for such amazing care. Keep up the great work -- Dr. Russ is as good as they get.

I have been taking all of my pets to Northwind since before it was owned by Dr Russ. It was good before he started there, and it is fabulous now. All of the people love animals, and I have never had an experience with anyone having a "bad day". They are always happy and kind. A person always answers the phone during business hours (even though they may put you on hold for a minute or two if they are swamped.) Dr Russ is up on all the latest research, and he cares for your pet as if it were his own. He is very loving with all of the animals.

Dr.D is great. Reasonably priced. Can be hard to exit parking lot certain times of day. They no longer offer boarding. I'm glad. My dogs boarded for 10 days. When I picked them up, none of their treats were missing. So, that means they didnt get any of their treats and 1 dog had a UTI. So she then needed to be seen later that week for it when I noticed her having symptoms. but Dr. D is great.

The staff was very helpful and understanding during this time. Dr D has always been excellent with our fur babies. Northwind is by far the greatest animal hospital I have ever worked with for my pet. My kitten suffered a terrible infection on his neck from an unknown cause (believed to be some sort of bite). I called Sunday evening and was able to make an appointment for 11:00am the next day to undergo treatment followed by surgery. It was Melo's first time to Northwind and they cared for him as if he was a loyal patient - full of kindness and affection. I cannot begin to thank Northwind enough for the thorough examination and care for my kitten.

I took my first dog to Northwind on my cousin's recommendation and have loved them since then. I used to travel a lot and boarded my dog there. I knew he was in good and loving hands. They were truly wonderful when it was Wile E.'s time. When I started bringing Sheldon and Natty in, everyone had to come meet them to see who could follow Wile E. The staff are kinda like family now. Their prices are very reasonable and the vets are great at answering questions. I moved from Baltimore 2 years ago but still take my dogs to Northwind, driving up from Silver Spring. I think that says a lot.

This Veterinarian Hospital is the Best in the area. If your pet is family then this is the vet for you. My best friend was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and from the onset to the day we had to euthanize him the Dr's and staff at Nothwind were not only compassionate and focused on his comfort but provided us with every option possible and discussed them all at length. I raised and lost 3 dogs and a cat in the last 17 years and every one of them went to Northwind. No exaggeration when I say every single interaction was 5 star. Pricing is also super affordable here compared to other local vets.

A coworker of mine recommended Northwind to me as I was struggling with my 18 year old dog not knowing if he was suffering. I took him there for a consultation and the vets I seen were very honest with me but definitely ensured it was my decision on his future care. I was never pressured or guilted into getting care or services. Sadly it was just time for my sweet boy. I received a card from the staff a few days later with hand written notes from them all. I know this might be standard procedure but I certainly felt like they truly cared. I have been to several vets over the years but this place is the best I have ever been to. The vets and the support staff are wonderful!! I am never pressured and I must say their prices are very fair. I have using them for about 18 months now and I will never go anywhere else again. I just wish I knew about them sooner.

Northwind is an above average vet's office. The staff there are great and they get you in for your appointments on time. My only complaints are the pricing (obviously, every vet is like this) and the difficulty in scheduling appointments on weekends. I wish they had better weekend hours.
