This review is due to an incident a few years ago. We rescued dogs at the time and so they often came with special needs and illnesses. After being with these guys for a few years everything seemed fine. That is until one of our beautiful rescues died unexpectedly in his sleep at home. The death was not due to any lack of care or misdiagnosis by this vet but was just because our beloved boy was extremely sick and sadly it happens sometimes. No, the one star review is because of what then occurred a few months later and the total lack of empathy by the lady who answered the phone. At some point three or four months after his death we received the usual 'please bring him for a checkup' kind of card in the mail. Nothing malicious with that, they didn't know our chap had died, but I wanted the vet to note this in their records so we wouldn't get another such communication from them as a poignant and rather upsetting reminder. I called thinking this would be a simple fix. Not to complain, not to be rude, just to add a note in their records that he had gone and check up reminders were not needed. After politely and with perfect manners explaining the reason for my call and asking that the reminders be ceased the woman rudely, and I mean RUDELY, interrupted me. She sternly stated that as 'the dog' hadn't died in their establishment there was no way to stop the mailings regarding our little boy. That there was nothing she could or indeed would do to help and that I should just throw the mailings in the trash. She gave the impression that I was somehow in the wrong for even bothering her. Her attitude was so unbelievable, so uncaring, it still angers me. One star. Zero if I could. We never went back.

FOLLOW UP TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: Well the Northeast Animal hospital saw this review and telephoned my house and spoke with my wife (as i wasn't home at the time) a lady(most likely the only one there) could not apologized enough for what happened and said that they were going through staff changes(LIE! as the main one is still behind the wall behind the counter (She didn;t call lol). anyway all said and done with my dog still goes to them as the doctors are not the cause. maybe this review helped? i dunno. but thought i should update.

My pet Cairn Terrier was regular client here since purchase in 2005. Things changed for worst after change of owners a few years ago. My best friend died in the car today on the way to Glasgow, maybe because NEAH wouldn't see her. Read response from Dr Hanlin, I don't know where she sent records. Receptionist suggested I take pet to Bel Air. I didn't receive any counsel or questions from from Doctor about problem. Elk Neck Veterinary clinic tried to help and suggested much closer clinic at Glasgow. Now Dr Hanlin sends sympathy card and wants to talk things over.

I love this vet. My cats weren’t acting right. They began to have some strange color and swelling on there mouths. Vet recommended Purina one. She was completely right. I was so thankful it wasn’t a overly expensive cat food. She said my cats for some reason developed allergy to orange colored cat food. My mom also changed to Purina one her cats look so much brighter and aware now to. Great vet. Thanks

The people here were very nice and caring. They let me go in a room with my guinea pig so he didn't get scared from the very big dogs that were about to come into the waiting room. The vet and vet tech were very sweet and I'd definitely recommend them to other pet owners.

I am so saddened by the lack of sympathy from this vet. My sister, who regularly takes her dog and cat there, was turned away when her dog was hit by a car! They said they didn't have time to see him! She had to drive 10 minutes away hoping he didn't die in her car! I called to complain and was told they didn't have time thy had other patients. When I asked if any of them were hit by a car they said no. So how is it you turn away a regular patient with an emergency. You clearly don't care about the animals. I at this point don't even know if he will make it and the dogs Doctor could care less. I am disgusted by the lack of empathy for another human being and a beloved pet. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Let this serve as a warning for all the other "regular patients " out there!

I took my Rhodesian Ridgeback to see Dr Hanlin for her very first chiropractic adjustment ever, to prepare for showing. At 3 years old I was unsure how it would go since she had not been handled this way. Dr. Hanlin was AMAZING. She was patient and gentle and by the end my dog was FALLING ASLEEP on the mat! The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was a wonderful experience and we will be going back!

Words fall short to express how awesome our first visit went! After a horrible experience at another vet office, I was worried how my baby girl would do. Well she's 74 lbs of chunkabunka and nerves so this isn't an easy trip to make.... From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, and by we I mean me and my pup, were treated with so much care and respect. Cora never needed muzzled, the tech and vet took the time to earn her trust! Which is huge to me! I hate when she's muzzled for growling. She's a dog, with instinct, in a new enviroment. I understand not wanting to be bitten - please don't take me wrong here - but before just resorting to that, these folks tried to develop a positive relationship with not just me, but also Cora, the crazy springer spaniel with anxiety through the roof! I was so impressed how both the tech and Dr took the time to really explain everything to me and yet we weren't there for longer then 40 mins. We were taken back immediately and well cared for! Cora and I almost can't wait for our next visit. My other pup Bones is going in two weeks! And I'm sure he will enjoy it as well!

Since October I've spoken with the owner several times and have taken my dog back here for care.
