New Market Animal Hospital has cared for my sweet kitty for several years. They are always nice and professional and the facility is always clean and modern. She had to have a small lump removed last month and they did a great job. I love them almost as much as my baby! Thank you so much for taking care of her!

Danny Saenz

Dr Carry is amazing. She is very detailed and explains everything very well. Thank you

I have four cats. They are precious to me. Dr. Chand understands that and has been a huge help in making it fiscally possible to get the kittens spayed, all of their shots up to date, and when Choco fell sick from worms the whole office was really kind.

So, I guess black cats are hard to get adopted. I don't know why. Most of my cats have been black cats. Whatever it is, when my baby girl came into my room carrying a tiny thing, unexpectedly, we didn't hesitate to adopt them too. But I did call around trying to see if anyone was missing a sweet fur baby. No one was and the local shelter didn't want her because she was a black cat. She started vomiting in the middle of the night over the weekend and the doc saw her in the morning - on a SUNDAY! She's fine. She ate something that didn't agree with her. Thanks for looking out for us newly adopted pet owners.

We have had a few terrible experiences there working with Dr. Chand. He is overzealous about any diagnostic tests (the more money spent the better) and unnecessary treatments. He misdiagnosed our dog twice and actually administered a treatment that was meant for another dog. Bottom line - for the safety and health of your furry loved ones, steer very clear from this office.

My cat was attacked by a coyote and the clinic was able to work me in on a Friday afternoon. Dr. Chand saved his life. The cat lost part of his tail and had a skull fracture with a bone infection, but Dr. Chand and his caring team persisted and my cat survived. The entire staff is caring and I could not ask for a better doctor.

Dr. Chand and the wonderful staff at New Market Animal Hospital have been nothing but amazing. Even if I have had and emergency they were really great in getting us an appointment to see either one of the pets. They really try to accommodate you. They have been nothing but warm and caring for all our pets. Cairo, Giza and Andie think you guys are the cats meow:) Thank you for all that you do.

Drew McAlpine

Love the staff.....so happy to have found them for my 2 dogs

Doctors here, Dr. Chand, Dr. Williamson are wonderful and do a great Job. I have been coming to this clinic for more than 5 years and Dr. Chand is an excellent diagnostician and treated Molly for pericardial effusion and discussed Molly's condition in detail and gave us options. I think with out his help we may not be able have Molly for additional 6 months. It was a tumor on his heart and he removed fluid from his heart and made a significant impact on his quality of life for what ever time Molly could spend with us. I also think their welness plans are good and economical.

After being patients of Dr. Rawls and Dr. Fury for over 11 years, we are going to be taking our dogs to another vet from now on.

We have been going to New Market Hospital for the last few years. The staff is very nice and I am very grateful for all the care and attention that Dr. Chand has given our bull terrier (Toka). I firmly believe that if your fur baby doesn't like the vet than you should take them to someone else. You wouldn't force your child to see a pediatrician whom they were afraid of. Toka has been under Dr. Chand's care and she loves him. I've never felt rushed in or out of the office. I highly recommend Dr. Chand and his staff.

Great location, right off of 144. The hours are great. In an emergency you can reach one of the vets via phone. All the staff are warm, friendly people. They even have a medical plan to help with the cost,

We brought our 130 pound Lab/Maremma there for a second opinion on her ACL tear. They were welcoming and accommodating and immediately got her scheduled for surgery. They were throrough in her exam, upfront with the cost and asked our other vet for her records to keep costs low by not running tests that were already run. She (our dog, Honey) loves all the techs and Dr. Chand. Their hours accommodated our schedule for her follow up laser treatments that were in included in her ACL repair. The prices are extremely fair compared to other vets in the area. I would absolutely recommend their services based on our family’s and Honey’s experience.

Excellent Veterinarian and staff. Everyone is very caring. They are open 7 days a week and also have an after hours number.

I love this vet dr chand and his staff are great as they are caring people who take great care of your pets. When I had to put my beagle down after 19 years they were so kind and made the experience bearable as they really care about the animals they treat, and my new puppy loves the staff and is excited to see them every time we go. If you want a vet practice that is the best come to new market animal hospital as you will not be unhappy susan sanner

Mr. Monday

My two pups are always treated gently and kindly here and the staff make certain to know the pets and owners they see. Always welcoming.

Save your Money and find a better veterinarian!!!! Horrible care and service since this practice was sold by Dr Rawls!!! Pushed unnecessary medication and put my animal’s health at risk. Will never go back!!!!!! Veterinarian seems to also be afraid of animals. Have had several family members and friends say the same thing. Staff is very unprofessional!!!

My experience with bringing my doggie (Wynter) for treatment was a great one. The staff were very nice and professional. Dr. Carrier was knowledgeable about my dog's illness and made sure I understood her treatment and explained how to distribute my dogs meds once I got home. The price was fair ....so that was a plus:-). Keep Up The Good Work!!!

Tom The Car Guy

Santa Bear thanks you and the family. The other hospital told us to euthanize him. You guys made sure he was well taken care of and the price was awesome. He now walks on 3 legs. He is so happy . Thank You

I have a little dog who has always been in good health, to check on a new limp I just started to see. They were thorough and friendly and answered all my questions. They also helped with explaining everything to us; answered all my concerns. They even had some samples. My uncle was a vet; and until now I haven't met a small animal vet I was impressed with til now. I will be back for any vet services I need in the future.

Details11/13/2017 I and my Family has been going to this practice for long time and Dr. Chand has been a valuable addition to this practice and excellent surgery skills and he fixed my furr baby knee after he had ACL injury , service is excellent and prices are reasonable. Cat fix prices are more than reasonable as I also got my cat fixed for less than fifty $ under humane society program.

We moved here last year, I see complaints about pricing , but their prices are far better than what I am used to paying and their senior wellness plan I really liked. Staff was pleasant and welcoming.

The staff love our pets like their own.

Had to go, emergency service. My cat had two badly infected ingrown claws. He gave no indication that any thing was wrong. Office was very accommodating to get us seen. Treated us kindly.

I and my parents love coming to this hospital for last 7 years. We are very happy with their quality of care and pricing, their prices are extremely reasonable if compared to other clinics in area. Our Family pet Abner was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Me and my family was not ready to let Abner go. We got quotes from different places as chemotherapy was a major decision for Abner and New Market Animal Hospital quote was lot more affordable and detailed. Chemotherapy injections were given multiple times by Dr. Chand and Abner lived for 14 more months.. As most other vets said 6 more months. Staff and doctors at New Market are always helpful . doctors here are knowledgeable and compassionate. They not only know a lot of information but they really do have empathy and care for your pet in the same way you do.

Anamaria Davalos

Negative experience . Unprofessional , no manners ..., i expected higher standards.

Juanita Davis

We use New Market Animal Hospital for a few reasons. The vets there are kind, very well trained, and explain everything. The hospital hours are convenient. They are open seven days a week. They are very affordable for those that have a few pets and they offer different discounts for many of their services.

Gabriela Cadena

Drs. Chand, Janssen and everyone there were wonderful! They are knowledgeable, warm & professional during our animal wellness visits as well as the last days of my beloved cat, Pericles. Can't thank them enough and recommend them enough. Your beloved fur family member is in good hands with them.

Our dog Kacey has had gastrointestinal problems since a puppy and New Market Animal hospital has diagnosed and treated her problem

Thanks staff and doctor! I have a 10yo chocolate lab that slowed down and is showing signs of arthritis and hip dysplasia. I brought her in for the typical shots and to see what could be done. My mind set going in was that my dog will need killed soon or will cost 1,000's for surgery. So, after the doctor checked her out he was leaning more towards something spinal, and possibly a problem leg. The doctor was willing to prescribe her non steroidal non opioid pain medication, as a trial to see if it improved her quality of life, however explained the benefits and risk mitigation of up selling blood test and x-ray. All cost estimates, risk/ benefits was clearly explained ahead both the tech, and doctor laid things out in plain English. Most importantly I never felt pressured or guilted, which is not the vet visit Norm. I did end up getting the blood work and X-ray done. Turns out she has a common old dog back problem, and was otherwise actually extremely healthy hips and all. That piece of mind was well worth it. Any way doctor gave around a month worth of pain medicine, and suggested continuing joint supplements. it's the second dose of doggy ibuprofen later, and my dog is acting like a five-year-old! Jumping and playing fetch again, and fearlessly going up and down stairs. Cost was extremely fair.

Jennifer Herron

My dog got his paw pinched in a trampoline while we were out over the weekened. Dr. Chand came in and looked at his paw and helped us make sure the sweeling was the only problem we had to deal with. This is the best vets in the area!

Mansoor Mo

Excellent staff and great doctors. I am very thankful to Dr. Chand for all the care and support he provides.

My family has been going here since I was a kid, in fact my mom worked there for almost 15 years. It had always been a wonderful place, the staff and the care that was given was above and beyond expected. Since the practice was sold, it has went dramatically downhill. I'm at a point now where I am looking for a new vet. The owner is rude and money hungry. He does not seem to care about animals just what you can put into his wallet. The staff is impersonal and disorganized. After taking my new rescue cat to be neutered my last experience left me with the mentality never again. After I watched the staff argue, mix up charts, push uneccessary and expensive medications on both the people waiting before me, and cursing you couldn't pay me enough to go back. Not to mention after paying for the procedure I had to ask to get my cat back THREE TIMES. I used to think I wouldn't go anywhere else and now I'm left feeling like almost anywhere would be better.

Our Vet, Dr. Safi Chand, is my dog Sam’s favorite vet. He gets very excited the minute we drive into the parking lot. Dr. Chand is very good with Sam. He has been seeing him since he was 6 weeks old. I like that we have a history with Dr. Chand since it makes getting shots and teeth cleaning a little easier.

April 30, 2018 I've brought my Lab here few times and last visit was after hours for vomiting. Doctor treated my pet with love & compassion. She is doing very well now. I am so lucky to have these people to look after my pet. Nice people, clean place and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this place.

I and my family has been going to this hospital for last 4 years and we are extremely happy with excellent and professional care provided by Dr. Chand. He discusses all options in detail along with cost. I have my cat there to get fixed ,signed an estimate , every other clinic gave me 500 plus estimate, after we left ,he called me after surgery and mentioned few programs , and we paid lot less than what we signed for. He also did a surgery on my blocked cat oreo to fix him for ever, he was blocked 3rd time and my previous vet never told me there was surgery to prevent this from happeining again. Dr. Chand performed surgery at a reasonable cost and oreo is never blocked again.

I took my dog, Pixie, to New Market Animal Hospital probably 8 or 10 times. At first I was fairly happy with them, when treating Pixie for her hip pain from arthritis; the only negative was inexplicably long wait times. But after having had several VERY bad experiences there in recent months, I have now switched to another animal hospital, in Frederick. The worst problems: * Once we showed up for our appointment and an unfamiliar vet came into the treatment room when we were expecting to see Dr. Chand as usual. He was clearly not up to speed on Pixie's medical history, even when referring to her file. I asked to see Dr. Chand and was told he wasn't there. The practice manager was apologetic. We left without seeing a vet that time. I was not happy with having to waste time driving from Frederick for no reason, but I decided to give them another chance. * When Pixie developed inexplicable weight loss despite eating well, I didn't feel like Dr. Chand was taking this issue seriously enough. He focused on things that were not life-threatening and shouldn't have been a priority, like her very slightly hypothyroid test results, or her mild diarrhea that she happened to have one day when we went in. I felt like I continually had to remind him that her weight loss was the #1 priority. The last time I talked to Dr. Chand, his plan was to take the new meds he had prescribed, "wait a month" and see how she was. But if she had kept losing weight, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD IN A MONTH. His plan was especially odd given the fact that he stated that ulcers could not be the sole reason for her weight loss. * Dr. Chand was very difficult to get by phone for explanations. He apparently just expected me to come pick up meds and give them to Pixie without talking to him. Some of the med labels did not include important directions, such as with/without food, or 2 hours away from other meds. I only found these things out from searching online. The first medication Pixie was given was antibiotics for a supposed Clostridium infection. But later her test results came back negative, so why was I not told to discontinue the antibiotics? The last time I went there, I picked up FOUR new meds. Two of those meds were for ulcers, which it was later determined by ultrasound Pixie did not have. I question giving a dog FOUR new meds all at once. If she has a reaction, we wouldn't know what was causing it. Instead, I started her on one at a time. She did not react well to one of the ulcer meds; it caused vomiting. * Since switching vets, I had to pay AGAIN to have x-rays taken because the ones from New Market were unacceptable. I had wondered at the time Dr. Chand reviewed them with me why a big part of the lungs was not imaged. I don't know whether the staff who took them was incompetent, they don't have sufficient equipment, or what. * After doing my own research, I found that the fecal test that was done at New Market that supposedly diagnosed Pixie with ulcers was the kind that has a VERY HIGH false positive rate for dogs who eat raw food. Pixie eats raw food, and that was not only in her records, but the vet techs generally ask each time what she's been eating. I resent paying $68 for that SINGLE test alone, which was worse than useless for her. * Speaking of which, I am still paying, and will be paying for months, for her substandard care. Just the last two appointments with them cost $271 and $291 respectively. For inaccurately interpreted test results and poorly done x-rays. * When I wanted copies of Pixie's records, I was told it would take 72 hours. Since her issues were time-critical, I asked if I could physically come in and take pictures of ONE of the pages, her most recent test results. I was told I could not. I think this should be illegal. I would like to see HIPPA law apply to veterinarians as it applies to human doctors. Those records are mine, I paid for them and should have easy access to them.

They have fantastic wellness programs and great prices. They also work with rescue groups and have taken me immediately when I am having a serious emergency. Love this place and the whole team that works there!! We are clients for life!!

Sean Hunter

I volunteer for a dog rescue near New Market. I have had to take dogs to the New Market Animal Hospital for many different situations. The group of Vets that work there are some of the most caring people I know. Many times, they have stayed late to help us out with sick pups. I highly recommend them.

Robynn Baird

New Market Animal Hospital is best in the area. I especially like Dr. Amy Carrier. She is very good with my two cats that don’t like trips to the vet! She is patient and seems to get them calmed down quickly. When she is not available it’s good to know that there are other very capable vets to help us out.

Kathryn Hnatio Vicere

My family has been taking our animals to Dr. Rawls since the early 1970s. It had always been a wonderful place, and the care we received for our pets was always fantastic. Unfortunately, since the practice was sold, the standard of care is far below expectations. After my parent's experience this weekend, we are looking for a new vet for our families' pets. The owner is money hungry. The nurses took our dogs, who were brought in for overdoses of meloxican but opted to withhold care/run blood work or provide us with updates on their status unless we paid them thousands of dollars in advance (no option of a payment plan was discussed or offered. They did offer us a credit card to apply for). Calls to get updates were met with harassment and refusal to provide any information until we paid. We retrieved our dogs after 24 hours, and took them to an urgent care vet. When the dogs arrived, they were dehydrated and both had fevers. The records we were given were incomplete. The emergency vet had to look at our itemized bill from New Market and guess at treatments and dosages. Straight up: the staff at New Market doesn't care about animals or people, just money. We have filed a complaint with the state veterinary commission and will speak out against this practice to help other families avoid this sort of treatment, substandard care and lack of empathy, ethics or morals. Or, even worse the loss of their beloved pet.

Great and compassionate people.Love the way they treat my pets. They really care.

Brought our dog in for spay. The Vet is very nice, and kind. You can tell she really cares about animals. The staff leaves a little to be desired. After we picked our dog up after surgery, its butt was covered in feces. I fount this to be unacceptable.

Wonderful, wonderful staff. Wonderful doctor. Dr. Chand is the best thing that couldve happened to Disco (my dog). He NEVER gets stressed going here because they are so spoiled by everyone. The facility is clean, they are punctual and professional, and it's obvious that they care about each family individually

Thomas Dossey-McKinnon

Very friendly staff; attentive, asked many questions to capture reason for visit, caring and concerned Dr. Chand is a highly qualified veterinarian; explains diagnosis and rationale for treatment.

They got some extra ordinary wellness programs. The staff was very welcoming. I was little worried about the vet ever since I moved there but Dr. Chand made sure I’m happy and satisfied. My dog always loves to go there. Thank you so much again

Great staff!

Without a doubt everyone who works there has been very compassionate to my dogs. I have trusted the care of my animals with them since the early 2000’s and they have always had my back when emergencies have come up. My older Chihuahua needed surgery that Dr. Chand performed, save his life. Thank you.

Very pleased with their care, as we have seen them for basic checkups, urgent needs, and anything else in between that our furr-babies may need.

Not the same place. Need to find a new veterinarian. The experience with new ownership wasn't good. They didn't do a simple skin scraping on my dog and directed me to more expensive and needless tests. The money focused vets shouldn't be allowed to be licensed; but a lot of them carry on this way because they know customers care for their pets as family and take advantage. I was very shocked walking out, then seeing they overcharged and the bill was 380.00 for so little done, and done incorrectly. They said they would price it differently if we "bought" a "package" of teeth services, at over $1000.00! Very dissatisfied, the new owners not running it appropriately; obvious concern over making money at the pets expense.

Sean Khaliq

I have been going to this clinic for many years and ever since the new management came in place a few years back, I have been thoroughly impressed. I have 2 pets and my entire family along with my cousins with their pets come down to Dr. Chand and his team. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly and give a very professional experience throughout our visit. Most importantly, I can see that this place actually CARES for my pets and not just all about taking money much like other vets I have been to. My dog Tommy is so attached to all the doctors here, I feel so comfortable knowing that he is always in good hands with doctors who are compassionate and care for him just like I do. Keep up the good work!!

I have been to this vet in last 2 years 5-6 times and my experience has been great . My two Siamese cats are very well taken care here. Dr. Carrier and Dr. Chand has been wonderful vets . Iris was there last time and had abscess and I was explained every thing in detail.Very well taken care and now healed , doing well. Now happy and excited iris and was very sad before.Their participation in quick fix program of humane society is very economical.I am thankful to staff and doctors and highly recommend this place

Substandard pet care, based more on treat and street than concerned care. Have been blatantly lied to by staff and billed for procedure never done. Multiple visits each one with a bad experience on differing levels, makes me ashamed I ever went back.

I don’t typically write reviews, but this is necessary. New Market Animal Hospital’s 4-star rating has clearly been inflated with phony, overly positive reviews and needs to be brought down a few notches. I began using this office in early 2016 and can count on 2 hands the number of horrible experiences I and my dogs have had. I kick myself for sticking around so long. Reception Staff: I won’t generalize and say every receptionist at this place is terrible. I don’t think many of them actually work there long enough for a concrete assessment to be made. Some have been polite and attentive, but a few are miserable. I shouldn’t be ignored when I walk in the door so a handful of receptionists/techs can finish complaining about their boss with their backs turned. When I finally get their attention, I shouldn’t be addressed in a rude, condescending, or argumentative manner. And if I phone the office, I shouldn’t be placed on hold so long that the call drops. I’ve experienced ALL of this at New Market, multiple times. Veterinarians: There is a general lack of interest, commitment, and knowledge in this practice. One vet told me if my 10-month-old rescue has never been tested for heartworm disease and has been on preventatives for just a few months, “She doesn’t need really need to be tested.” Another vet muzzled the same pup after one tiny growl. Having my dogs’ feces tested has been an issue as well. It took 4 days of phone calls to get the results of one test, and when I finally did, I’m 99% sure they mixed up the samples (based on clear symptoms) and diagnosed the wrong dog. Finally, at another appointment, they had prepared a vaccine I did not order and were ready to inject. I then had to reject the vaccine and explain why. Needless to say, I don’t trust the “professional” opinions of the vets in this office. Vet Techs: Of all the people I've dealt with at New Market, the vet techs have provided the best service—but I’ve still had bad experiences. For instance, when I brought my puppy in for vaccine boosters, the well-intentioned—but clearly inexperienced—tech struggled with my dog and jabbed her twice (hard) in the shoulder. My puppy subsequently limped for two weeks, and when I called the office about this, I was told, “Check her paw. She must have stepped on something.” These complaints merely scratch the surface of the horrible service I have experienced at New Market Animal Hospital. While I don’t wish to destroy anybody’s livelihood, I firmly believe the practice should not continue to operate without making serious changes in management and customer service. Their customer base is already suffering; just look at the five most recent reviews on Yelp. I have already switched to another vet (to whom, by the way, New Market failed to fax complete vaccine records, so I had to bring in the remaining paperwork myself), and have committed to never set foot in this office again. I hope everyone who reads this heeds my advice and does the same. If you want rude receptionists, inexperienced techs, and aloof veterinarians, come to New Market Animal Hospital. If you love your pets, DON’T.

One and half month ago, I had very bad experience with one of staff, but after dr. Chand back to office, he called me twice, and we had very nice talking , and he Helped me through the unpleasant experience. So I completely understand what he said, that’s not his fault, he tried very hard , make me feel warm, I will stick with him, let him take care my dog.

I've been taking my pets (3 cats and a dog) to see Dr. Chand for years, and really appreciate the time he takes with them. He is always ready to answer my questions, and is very kind to my "kids". Through his perseverance he was able to diagnose my cat with a very rare (and thank goodness treatable!) condition, even when a radiologist said it was probably cancer! I think that he offers all options for treatments and gives his best recommendations, always with his top priority being the health of my pets. Dr Carrier has been very helpful too. Dr. Chand always provided phone suggestions whenever i needed one, even on weekends . Quality service for a very decent price. I also find the staff very friendly.

We were are new in town and were referred to New Market Animal Hospital for our two cats. The clinic is very nice and the staff is great. Our checkups went well and my cats are home and happy. This is my new vet!

My ten year old tom cat was lethargic, not eating, and dragging his back legs. The doctor diagnosis that he was diabetic. I was sure the vet would say it was time to put him down. Instead, Dr. Chann insisted that we try to stabilize his condition. After three months of careful monitoring, and slowly rising the insulin dosage my tom is currently chasing a red m and m across the hard wood floors of the living room with gay abandon! He is back to living a healthy, happy life. Thank you!!!!

I brought in our cat mia because she was acting weird. She wouldn't eat, her appetite was not the same as always. She also would look around as if she was confused. We were so worried about her. I brought mia in to see Doctor Chand. My mom was with me and we were immediately made to feel at ease by his compassion and reassurance. Turns out mia was constipated and that's why she wasn't eating and acting abnormal. I want to thank Doctor Chand for his help, he even called to check up on her afterwards. Thank you!

Powell Paterson

Very Friendly and helpful, will definitely be my regular vet for my fur babies.

Do not subject yourselves and your pets to this horrible place. We've had several problems with this vet before, but the latest incident solidified their position as a greedy, vindictive, unprofessional, and unskilled, veterinary clinic. When we took our Beagle in for a rabies shot, general grooming, and for a limp, we were told the limp was most likely due to a long nail that dug into her pad and would probably be OK. We were also told she had a hematoma in her ear and would likely require surgery. We asked about the cost of that type of surgery and were told anywhere from $400-600 dollars so we decided to think about it and not schedule the surgery that day. We should mention, our Beagle had both her eyes removed about a year ago as a result of a condition. That surgery cost about a thousand dollars and we had it done at a family vet clinic on the Eastern Shore. Since then, our Beagle declined in health and happiness. Her quality of life had deteriorated and she spent most of her day sleeping. Leading up to this visit with New Market Animal Hospital, she was refusing to use her back right leg. So we brought her in and the result of that is aforementioned. So, our Beagle is blind, refusing to use her back right leg, has a hematoma in her ear requiring surgery, has a poor quality of life, and is going on 11 years. We made the difficult decision of euthanizing her. So we made an appointment with New Market Animal Hospital. Within a few hours of making the appointment, we got a call back telling us to put her up for adoption or find some other option. We said we would consider it and thanks. We decided to take our Beagle to another vet for a second opinion where it was discovered that she had a spinal injury and severe loss of muscle mass in her hind legs which was causing discomfort and the refusal to use her leg. New Market Animal Hospital said this was due to a long nail.... This discovery, along with the prospective costs for now another surgery, our decision for euthanasia made more sense. The new vet was in total agreement. Now, when the new vet requested our Beagles old records from New Market Animal Hospital, they were told NO and that if our Beagle was euthanized that they would sue both us and the vet. It took about an hour for New Market Animal Hospital to cave and send the records. This caused a tremendous amount of stress for my wife and I during this time. The next day, New Market Animal Hospital called the new vet to demand the records for the latest visit and reiterated their threat to sue us and the vet. The new vet, being a sensible and sane human being, declined their demand because we, the clients, had not given permission to transfer the records back to New Market Animal Hospital. We've done quite a bit a research into New Market Animal Hospital and their owners and we urge you to take the time and do so yourself. I believe the research will enlighten you to the type of business this is. The notes from the New Market Animal Hospital during the initial exam state that we wanted to euthanize out of convenience for ourselves and because it was expensive. What "animal-loving" vet has the audacity to make such a statement and assume a euthanasia decision is about money and convenience rather than the consideration of the quality of life of a beloved animal whom whom we've loved and cared for for the past 10 years. Our children have grown up with our beagle and we would put her down out of convenience for ourselves? These are the types of people working at this facility. Pursuant to this advisement to the public on this forum, we are filing a official complaint with the Maryland's Veterinary Medical Board with the medical records and official statements and recounts of the threatening phone calls. If New Market Animal Hospital sees this, be ashamed of yourselves and be advised that you are not to contact us. Our Beagle Bailey passed very peacefully surrounded by family and now resides on our property next to other beloved family pets.

HAddThe receptionist and everyone was excellent except Dr.Chang he was rude, Condescending, and flat out disrespectful. Will never see him again.

If it were possible to give this place 6 stars, I would! We first came here because rescued a dog and he had already had surgery there. Plus, it was just down the street from us. The receptionist has always been so kind and helpful in the area of billing, price matching and a general interest in all the animals that come in. We typically se Dr. Chand and he truly has been a God Send! I can’t say enough about the care and time he takes with each pet/client. He has such a calming demeanor and very informative. We now have a second rescue that has us on our toes all the time. She eats Everything! One day she ate 2 bags of chocolate Easter candy the day before Easter. We called him at 8:30 on that Saturday night. He promptly met us at the office within 30 minutes. He induced vomiting, then IV fluids and gave excellent care during the entire process. He even called the next morning to see how she was doing! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‘S in my book!

Loving and caring doctors, affordable cost. I've been to a lot of expensive clinics but none took such good care of my pets like them. Staff are very nice and help us anytime we need.

They have the staff and equipment to handle most any need. They are courteous and friendly.

They took great care of our Furry Daughter! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. The Doctor addressed our concerns, did not push extras like the last 2 vets we saw. (1 was super pushy to the point of being rude. Tried to scare us into purchases). They did not even charge for a quick follow up and stitch removal. Highly recommend! Will bring our pets here and tell everyone about them!

Dr was thoughrow and very experienced with canines. The only fault I have is the long wait we were in there for over an hour for a exam and vaccinations.

My dog gets excited when we pull into the parking lot of this place. If that doesn't tell you how amazing they are, I don't know what will! Great place and great people!

We just got a new puppy from the pound. I researched animal hospitals in the area. I chose New Market Animal Hospital. We made an appointment and visited with Dr. Carrier. She made sure to do a complete exam and administered the first round of puppy shots. I’m glad we found a caring vet for our new fur baby.

Dr. Chand is wonderful. He made sure my cat gets help with med to see if any improvement. I’m glad I came here with my baby boy Orange. Especially Rachel knew signs. Much easier for me. Thank you, Dr. Chand.

There are several good vets on staff. When I was here getting my cat his shots they were running about 40 mins late because they had just received an emergency case that was rushed in. I don't mind having to wait in that case because someone else's animal really needed help and they were willing to take the animal on the spot. That is what I would want them to do if I brought in my pet in an emergency.

My dog had been scratching himself for two years. The vet I was taking him to advised me that he had allergies. He was immediately put on the grain-free food they recommended and was put on Apoquel each day for the itching. Nothing stopped the itching. I finally decided to get a second opinion and took him to Dr. Chand at the New Market Animal Hospital. He had an infected ear for who knows how long and a patch of skin that was infected that was hidden by his thick fur. The itching stopped within a few days after proper treatment. Dr Chand and his staff are very compassionate and I'm impressed with my dog's calm behavior when he visits them.

Love Dr. Chand! He works with his customers. Whether it be with payment plans, givinf you different approaches to helping treat your pet. I have never felt upcharged. He has a great passion for his work and is loved by both of my dogs one being fearful around men. The receptionists and vet technicians are very helpful as well.

After writing a not so good review 24 hours ago I want to make things right by saying, I was over charged a significant amount of money for having my car spayed there. The owner actually called me several hours ago to apologize and send me a refund for the amount I was overcharged. I was shocked and very impressed with him. They did take very good care of my cat and she’s doing well. I do believe that the owner needs to train the staff better especially when people call for estimates on their services, and know what other options may be available. Thank you Doc/owner for making things right. That’s a good man and business owner

Do not take your pets here if you love them.. they will overcharge, make up things that are wrong with your dog, over vaccinate & over medicate. Multiple people I know have lost their pets because of them. BEWARE!!!!

I have had the pleasure of visiting New Market Animal Hospital 3 times in the last year. All 3 visits have been an emergency. Dr. Chand is very responsive to emergency and is at the clinic very quickly. He was able to diagnose and treat my animals quickly. Dr. Chand is very insightful and knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable I am so glad that I found this place and I would highly recommend them. As a matter of fact, I have, many times.

I came home from work and found my dog had torn up the trash. It seemed he was ill. I didn’t know where to take him since it was after 5 p.m. I called New Market. They said they were open until 7p.m. that evening. They did a thorough exam. There were no signs of poisoning, so I was able to bring him home. I was thankful to Dr. Chand that they were there that late to help us.

I and my sister going to this hospital for 8 years, excellent doctors, staff and very well priced . Dr. Chand is excellent , my baby ingested chocolate and he responded to my after hour phone call right away and told me how to make Riley vomit at home with hydrogen peroxide and told me did not need to come in as amount was not toxic . Vomiting will prevent pancreatitis and told me what to do to minimize any side affects. I can not believe Hnatio saying about their dogs and their experience at New Market.I know him for years he will not do that. I asked Dr. Chand, I also know his staff , he came in close to midnight to treat your pets for toxicity and did all treatments and hosp. and did not ask you any deposit that night, next day staff called for deposit.I believe 400- 500 deposit for each pet was not bad at all. Ran first blood work and continued treatment with out lapse till pick up. Only thing staff did not repeat blood work as was hospital policy to have some deposit to continue testing which is expensive some times. Fluids were the treatment , no one stopped those, even no payment was made till pick up.May be lack of information. I really appreciate his after hour service , saved me a lot in past, excellent and honest care provided. He helps rescues and honestly be appreciative of it.

LOVE DR CHAND! He is very compassionate and caring and helpful. The office staff is terrible...the turnover is ridiculous. It's rare to see the same faces in between regular check up visits. It saddens me to see others write things about this practice (like all about money)...Dr Chand has proven to me (in details I don't want to share here) that in bad part of my pet's life it was about compassion NOT MONEY.

Wonderful staff did a great job especially Dr. Chand. If you guys go here ask for him he will take good care of your pet. My dog had a really bad allergic reaction and the doctor here did a wonderful job within few days I got great results my dog is feeling a lot better and acting like his normal self again.
